Surah 15 al-Ḥijr (The Rocky Tract)

(15:14)

وَلَوْ  فَتَحْنَا  عَلَيْهِم  بَابًا  مِّنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  فَظَلُّوا۟  فِيهِ  يَعْرُجُونَ wa‑law fataḥnā ʿalayhim bāban mina l‑samāʾi fa‑ẓallū fīhi yaʿrujūna
Even if We opened out to them a gate from heaven, and they were to continue (all day) ascending therein,

Surah 16 al-Naḥl (The Bee)
(16:58)

وَإِذَا  بُشِّرَ  أَحَدُهُم  بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ  ظَلَّ  وَجْهُهُۥ  مُسْوَدًّا  وَهُوَ  كَظِيمٌ wa‑idhā bushshira aḥaduhum bil‑untha ẓalla wajhuhu muswaddan wa‑huwa kaẓīmun
When news is brought to one of them, of (the birth of) a female (child), his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief!

Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha)
(20:97)

قَالَ  فَٱذْهَبْ  فَإِنَّ  لَكَ  فِى  ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ  أَن  تَقُولَ  لَا  مِسَاسَ  وَإِنَّ  لَكَ  مَوْعِدًا  لَّن  تُخْلَفَهُۥ  وَٱنظُرْ  إِلَىٰٓ  إِلَٰهِكَ  ٱلَّذِى  ظَلْتَ  عَلَيْهِ  عَاكِفًا  لَّنُحَرِّقَنَّهُۥ  ثُمَّ  لَنَنسِفَنَّهُۥ  فِى  ٱلْيَمِّ  نَسْفًا qalā fadhhab fa‑inna la‑ka l‑ḥayāti an taqūla misāsa wa‑inna la‑ka mawʿidan lan tukhlafahu wa‑unẓur ila ilāhika alladhī ẓalta ʿalayhi ʿākifan la‑nuḥarriqannahu thumma la‑nansifannahu l‑yammi nasfan
(Moses) said: "Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, 'touch me not'; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!"

Surah 26 al-Shuʿarā (The Poets)
(26:4)

إِن  نَّشَأْ  نُنَزِّلْ  عَلَيْهِم  مِّنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  ءَايَةً  فَظَلَّتْ  أَعْنَٰقُهُمْ  لَهَا  خَٰضِعِينَ in nashaʾ nunazzil ʿalayhim mina l‑samāʾi āyatan fa‑ẓallat aʿnāquhum lahā khāḍiʿīna
If (such) were Our Will, We could send down to them from the sky a Sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.
(26:71)

قَالُوا۟  نَعْبُدُ  أَصْنَامًا  فَنَظَلُّ  لَهَا  عَٰكِفِينَ qālū naʿbudu aṣnāman fanaẓallu lahā ʿākifīna
They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them."

Surah 30 al-Rūm (The Romans)
(30:51)

وَلَئِنْ  أَرْسَلْنَا  رِيحًا  فَرَأَوْهُ  مُصْفَرًّا  لَّظَلُّوا۟  مِنۢ  بَعْدِهِۦ  يَكْفُرُونَ wa‑lain arsalnā rīḥan fa‑raʾawhu muṣfarran la‑ẓallū min baʿdihi yakfurūna
And if We (but) send a Wind from which they see (their tilth) turn yellow,- behold, they become, thereafter, Ungrateful (Unbelievers)!

Surah 42 al-Shūrā (The Counsel)
(42:33)

إِن  يَشَأْ  يُسْكِنِ  ٱلرِّيحَ  فَيَظْلَلْنَ  رَوَاكِدَ  عَلَىٰ  ظَهْرِهِۦٓ  إِنَّ  فِى  ذَٰلِكَ  لَءَايَٰتٍ  لِّكُلِّ  صَبَّارٍ  شَكُورٍ in yashaʾ yuskini l‑rīḥa fa‑yaẓlalna rawākida ʿalā ẓahrihi inna dhālika la‑āyātin li‑kulli ṣabbārin shakūrin
If it be His Will He can still the Wind: then would they become motionless on the back of the (ocean). Verily in this are Signs for everyone who patiently perseveres and is grateful.

Surah 43 al-Zukhruf (The Embellishment)
(43:17)

وَإِذَا  بُشِّرَ  أَحَدُهُم  بِمَا  ضَرَبَ  لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ  مَثَلًا  ظَلَّ  وَجْهُهُۥ  مُسْوَدًّا  وَهُوَ  كَظِيمٌ wa‑idhā bushshira aḥaduhum bi‑mā ḍaraba lil‑raḥmāni mathalan ẓalla wajhuhu muswaddan wa‑huwa kaẓīmun
When news is brought to one of them of (the birth of) what he sets up as a likeness to (Allah) Most Gracious, his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief!

Surah 56 al-Wāqiʿah (That Which is Coming)
(56:65)

لَوْ  نَشَآءُ  لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ  حُطَٰمًا  فَظَلْتُمْ  تَفَكَّهُونَ law nashāʾu la‑jaʿalnāhu ḥuṭāman fa‑ẓaltum tafakkahūna
Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment,
