The worshippers of false gods say: "If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him - neither we nor our fathers,- nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His." So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of messengers but to preach the Clear Message?

Surah 36 Yā Sin (Ya Sin)
(36:22)

وَمَا  لِىَ  لَآ  أَعْبُدُ  ٱلَّذِى  فَطَرَنِى  وَإِلَيْهِ  تُرْجَعُونَ wa‑mā liya aʿbudu alladhī faṭaranī wa‑ilayhi turjaʿūna

Is it not to Allah that sincere devotion is due? But those who take for protectors other than Allah (say): "We only serve them in order that they may bring us nearer to Allah." Truly Allah will judge between them in that wherein they differ. But Allah guides not such as are false and ungrateful.
(39:11)

قُلْ  إِنِّىٓ  أُمِرْتُ  أَنْ  أَعْبُدَ  ٱللَّـهَ  مُخْلِصًا  لَّهُ  ٱلدِّينَ qul innī umirtu an aʿbuda allāha mukhliṣan lahu l‑dīna
