(4:154) | وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَهُمُ ٱلطُّورَ بِمِيثَٰقِهِمْ وَقُلْنَا لَهُمُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ لَا تَعْدُوا۟ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَٰقًا غَلِيظًا | wa‑rafaʿnā fawqahumu l‑ṭūra bi‑mīthāqihim wa‑qulnā lahumu idkhulū l‑bāba sujjadan wa‑qulnā lahum lā taʿdū fī l‑sabti wa‑akhadhnā minhum mīthāqan ghalīẓan | And for their covenant we raised over them (the towering
height) of Mount (Sinai); and (on another occasion) we said: "Enter the
gate with humility"; and (once again) we commanded them: "Transgress not in
the matter of the sabbath." And we took from them a solemn covenant.

(7:163) | وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ ٱلْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ | wa‑sʾalhum ʿani l‑qaryati allatī kānat ḥāḍirata l‑baḥri idh yaʿdūna fī l‑sabti idh taʾtīhim ḥītānuhum yawma sabtihim shurraʿan wa‑yawma lā yasbitūna lā taʾtīhim ka‑dhālika nablūhum bi‑mā kānū yafsuqūna | Ask them concerning the town standing close by the sea.
Behold! they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. For on the day of
their Sabbath their fish did come to them, openly holding up their heads,
but on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not: thus did We make a trial
of them, for they were given to transgression.
