There is no blame on you if ye make an offer of betrothal or hold it in your hearts. Allah knows that ye cherish them in your hearts: But do not make a secret contract with them except in terms Honourable, nor resolve on the tie of marriage till the term prescribed is fulfilled. And know that Allah Knoweth what is in your hearts, and take heed of Him; and know that Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Forbearing.

(4:135)

O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.

(They are fond of) listening to falsehood, of devouring anything forbidden. If they do come to thee, either judge between them, or decline to interfere. If thou decline, they cannot hurt thee in the least. If thou judge, judge in equity between them. For Allah loveth those who judge in equity.

They will swear to you by Allah, when ye return to them, that ye may leave them alone. So leave them alone: For they are an abomination, and Hell is their dwelling-place,-a fitting recompense for the (evil) that they did.

(42:45)

And thou wilt see them brought forward to the (Penalty), in a humble frame of mind because of (their) disgrace, (and) looking with a stealthy glance. And the Believers will say: "Those are indeed in loss, who have given to perdition their own selves and those belonging to them on the Day of Judgment. Behold! Truly the Wrong-doers are in a lasting Penalty!"
(42:48)

فَإِنْ  أَعْرَضُوا۟  فَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ  عَلَيْهِمْ  حَفِيظًا  إِنْ  عَلَيْكَ  إِلَّا  ٱلْبَلَٰغُ  وَإِنَّآ  إِذَآ  أَذَقْنَا  ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ  مِنَّا  رَحْمَةً  فَرِحَ  بِهَا  وَإِن  تُصِبْهُمْ  سَيِّئَةٌۢ  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  فَإِنَّ  ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ  كَفُورٌ fa‑in aʿraḍū fa‑mā arsalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan in ʿalayka illā l‑balāghu wa‑innā idhā adhaqnā l‑insāna minnā raḥmatan fariḥa bihā wa‑in tuṣibhum sayyiatun bi‑mā qaddamat aydīhim fa‑inna l‑insāna kafūrun
If then they run away, We have not sent thee as a guard over them. Thy duty is but to convey (the Message). And truly, when We give man a taste of a Mercy from Ourselves, he doth exult thereat, but when some ill happens to him, on account of the deeds which his hands have sent forth, truly then is man ungrateful!

Surah 46 al-Aḥqāf (The Sandhills)
(46:20)

And on the Day that the Unbelievers will be placed before the Fire, (It will be said to them): "Ye received your good things in the life of the world, and ye took your pleasure out of them: but today shall ye be recompensed with a Penalty of humiliation: for that ye were arrogant on earth without just cause, and that ye (ever) transgressed."
(46:34)

وَيَوْمَ  يُعْرَضُ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  عَلَى  ٱلنَّارِ  أَلَيْسَ  هَٰذَا  بِٱلْحَقِّ  قَالُوا۟  بَلَىٰ  وَرَبِّنَا  قَالَ  فَذُوقُوا۟  ٱلْعَذَابَ  بِمَا  كُنتُمْ  تَكْفُرُونَ wa‑yawma yuʿraḍu lladhīna kafarū ʿalā l‑nāri a‑laysa hādhā bil‑ḥaqqi qālū balā wa‑rabbinā qalā fa‑dhūqū l‑ʿadhāba bi‑mā kuntum takfurūna
And on the Day that the Unbelievers will be placed before the Fire, (they will be asked,) "Is this not the Truth?" they will say, "Yea, by our Lord!" (One will say:) "Then taste ye the Penalty, for that ye were wont to deny (Truth)!"

Surah 53 al-Najm (The Star)
(53:29)

فَأَعْرِضْ  عَن  مَّن  تَوَلَّىٰ  عَن  ذِكْرِنَا  وَلَمْ  يُرِدْ  إِلَّا  ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ  ٱلدُّنْيَا fa‑aʿriḍ ʿan man tawalla ʿan dhikrinā wa‑lam yurid illā l‑ḥayāta l‑dunyā
Therefore shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world.

Surah 54 al-Qamar (The Moon)
(54:2)

وَإِن  يَرَوْا۟  ءَايَةً  يُعْرِضُوا۟  وَيَقُولُوا۟  سِحْرٌ  مُّسْتَمِرٌّ wa‑in yaraw āyatan yuʿriḍū wa‑yaqūlū siḥrun mustamirrun
But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic."

Surah 66 al-Taḥrīm (The Prohibition)
(66:3)

وَإِذْ  أَسَرَّ  ٱلنَّبِىُّ  إِلَىٰ  بَعْضِ  أَزْوَٰجِهِۦ  حَدِيثًا  فَلَمَّا  نَبَّأَتْ  بِهِۦ  وَأَظْهَرَهُ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَيْهِ  عَرَّفَ  بَعْضَهُۥ  وَأَعْرَضَ  عَنۢ  بَعْضٍ  فَلَمَّا  نَبَّأَهَا  بِهِۦ  قَالَتْ  مَنْ  أَنۢبَأَكَ  هَٰذَا  قَالَ  نَبَّأَنِىَ  ٱلْعَلِيمُ  ٱلْخَبِيرُ wa‑idh asarra l‑nabiyyu ilā baʿḍi azwājihi ḥadīthan fa‑lammā nabbaʾat bihi wa‑aẓharahu allāhu ʿalayhi ʿarrafa baʿḍahu wa‑aʿraḍa ʿan baʿḍin fa‑lammā nabbaʾahā bihi qālat man anbaʾaka hādhā qalā nabbaʾaniya l‑ʿalīmu l‑khabīru
When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part. Then when he told her thereof, she said, "Who told thee this? "He said, "He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things)."

Surah 69 al-Ḥāqqah (The Inevitable)
(69:18)

يَوْمَئِذٍ  تُعْرَضُونَ  لَا  تَخْفَىٰ  مِنكُمْ  خَافِيَةٌ yawmaʾidhin tuʿraḍūna takhfā minkum khāfiyatun
That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden.

Surah 72 al-Jinn (The Jinn)
(72:17)

لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ  فِيهِ  وَمَن  يُعْرِضْ  عَن  ذِكْرِ  رَبِّهِۦ  يَسْلُكْهُ  عَذَابًا  صَعَدًا li‑naftinahum fīhi wa‑man yuʿriḍ ʿan dhikri rabbihi yaslukhu ʿadhāban ṣaʿadan
"That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty.
