Sura al-Baqara 2:52

ثُمَّ عَفَوْنَا عَنكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

thumma ʿafawnā ʿankum min baʿdi dhālika la-ʿallakum tashkurūna

Even then We did forgive you; there was a chance for you to be grateful.

Sura al-Baqara 2:109

وَدَّ كَثِيرٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كُفَّارًا حَسَدًا مِّنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَٱعْفُوا۟ وَٱصْفَحُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِىَ ٱللَّـهُ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

wadda kathīrun min ahli l-kitābi law yaruddūnakum min baʿdi īmānikum kuffāran ḥasadan min ʿindi anfusihim min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahumu l-ḥaqqu fa-iʿfū wa-iṣfaḥū ḥattā yaʾtiya allāhu bi-amrihi inna allāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

Quite a number of the People of the Book wish they could Turn you (people) back to infidelity after ye have believed, from selfish envy, after the Truth hath become Manifest unto them: But forgive and overlook, Till Allah accomplish His purpose; for Allah Hath power over all things.

Sura al-Baqara 2:237

وَإِن طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ وَقَدْ فَرَضْتُمْ لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةً فَنِصْفُ مَا فَرَضْتُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يَعْفُونَ أَوْ يَعْفُوَا۟ ٱلَّذِى بِيَدِهِۦ عُقْدَةُ ٱلنِّكَاحِ وَأَن تَعْفُوٓا۟ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ وَلَا تَنسَوُا۟ ٱلْفَضْلَ بَيْنَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ

wa-in ṭallaqtumūhunna min qabli an tamassūhunna wa-qad faraḍtum la-hunna farīḍatan faniṣfu mā faraḍtum illā an yaʿfūna aw yaʿfuwā alladhī bi-yadihi ʿuqdatu l-nikāḥi wa-an taʿfū aqrabu lil-taqwā wa-lā tansawu l-faḍla baynakum inna allāha bi-mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun

And if ye divorce them before consummation, but after the fixation of a dower for them, then the half of the dower (Is due to them), unless they remit it or (the man's half) is remitted by him in whose hands is the marriage tie; and the remission (of the man's half) is the nearest to righteousness. And do not forget Liberality between yourselves. For Allah sees well all that ye do.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:149

إِن تُبْدُوا۟ خَيْرًا أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ أَوْ تَعْفُوا۟ عَن سُوٓءٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا قَدِيرًا

in tubdū khayran aw tukhfūhu aw taʿfū ʿan sūʾin fa-inna allāha kāna ʿafūwan qadīran

Whether ye publish a good deed or conceal it or cover evil with pardon, verily Allah doth blot out (sins) and hath power (in the judgment of values).

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:153

يَسْـَٔلُكَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَٰبًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَقَدْ سَأَلُوا۟ مُوسَىٰٓ أَكْبَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَرِنَا ٱللَّـهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَٰلِكَ وَءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ سُلْطَٰنًا مُّبِينًا

yasʾaluka ahlu l-kitābi an tunazzila ʿalayhim kitāban mina l-samāʾi fa-qad sāʾalū mūsā akbara min dhālika fa-qālū arinā allāha jahratan fa-akhadhathumu l-ṣāʿiqatu bi-ẓulmihim thumma ittakhadhū l-ʿijla min baʿdi mā jāʾathumu l-bayyinātu fa-ʿafawnā ʿan dhālika wa-ātaynā mūsā sulṭānan mubīnan

The people of the Book ask thee to cause a book to descend to them from heaven: Indeed they asked Moses for an even greater (miracle), for they said: "Show us Allah in public," but they were dazed for their presumption, with thunder and lightning. Yet they worshipped the calf even after clear signs had come to them; even so we forgave them; and gave Moses manifest proofs of authority.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:95

ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوا۟ وَّقَالُوا۟ قَدْ مَسَّ ءَابَآءَنَا ٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَٱلسَّرَّآءُ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

thumma baddalnā makāna l-sayyiati l-ḥasanata ḥattā ʿafaw wwa-qālū qad massa ābāʾanā l-ḍarrāʾu wa-l-sarrāʾu fa-akhadhnāhum baghtatan wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

Then We changed their suffering into prosperity, until they grew and multiplied, and began to say: "Our fathers (too) were touched by suffering and affluence" ... Behold! We called them to account of a sudden, while they realised not (their peril).

Sura al-Tawbah 9:66

لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا۟ قَدْ كَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ إِن نَّعْفُ عَن طَآئِفَةٍ مِّنكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَآئِفَةًۢ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ

lā taʿtadhirū qad kafartum baʿda īmānikum in nnaʿfu ʿan ṭāʾifatin minkum nuʿadhdhib ṭāʾifatan bi-annahum kānū mujrimīna

Make ye no excuses: ye have rejected Faith after ye had accepted it. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others amongst you, for that they are in sin.

Sura al-Nūr 24:22

وَلَا يَأْتَلِ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْفَضْلِ مِنكُمْ وَٱلسَّعَةِ أَن يُؤْتُوٓا۟ أُو۟لِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَلْيَعْفُوا۟ وَلْيَصْفَحُوٓا۟ أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَن يَغْفِرَ ٱللَّـهُ لَكُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

wa-lā yaʾtali ūlū l-faḍli minkum wa-l-saʿati an yuʾtū ūlī l-qurbā wa-l-masākīna wa-l-muhājirīna fī sabīli allāhi wa-lyaʿfū wa-l-yaṣfaḥū āla tuḥibbūna an yaghfira allāhu la-kum wallāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun

Let not those among you who are endued with grace and amplitude of means resolve by oath against helping their kinsmen, those in want, and those who have left their homes in Allah's cause: let them forgive and overlook, do you not wish that Allah should forgive you? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Sura al-Taghābun 64:14

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُمْ وَأَوْلَٰدِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَّكُمْ فَٱحْذَرُوهُمْ وَإِن تَعْفُوا۟ وَتَصْفَحُوا۟ وَتَغْفِرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū inna min azwājikum wa-awlādikum ʿadūwan la-kum fa-iḥdharūhum wa-in taʿfū wa-taṣfaḥū wa-taghfirū fa-inna allāha ghafūrun raḥīmun

O ye who believe! Truly, among your wives and your children are (some that are) enemies to yourselves: so beware of them! But if ye forgive and overlook, and cover up (their faults), verily Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
