(2:100) | أَوَكُلَّمَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ عَهْدًا نَّبَذَهُۥ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ | awakullamā ʿāhadū ʿahdan nabadhahu farīqun minhum bal aktharuhum lā yuʾminūna | Is it not (the case) that every time they make a covenant,
some party among them throw it aside?- Nay, Most of them are faithless.
Sura al-Baqara 2:100 أَوَكُلَّمَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ عَهْدًا نَّبَذَهُۥ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ awakullamā ʿāhadū ʿahdan nabadhahu farīqun minhum bal aktharuhum lā yuʾminūna Is it not (the case) that every time they make a covenant, some party among them throw it aside?- Nay, Most of them are faithless. |
(2:177) | لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ | laysa l‑birra an tuwallū wujūhakum qibala l‑mashriqi wa‑l‑maghribi wa‑lākinna l‑birra man āmana billāhi wa‑l‑yawmi l‑akhiri wa‑l‑malāʾikati wa‑l‑kitābi wa‑l‑nabīyina wa‑ātā l‑māla ʿalā ḥubbihi dhawī l‑qurbā wa‑l‑yatāmā wa‑l‑masākīna wa‑ibna l‑sabīli wa‑l‑sāʾilīna wa‑fī l‑riqābi wa‑aqāma l‑ṣalāta wa‑ātā l‑zakāta wa‑l‑mūfūna bi‑ʿahdihim idhā ʿāhadū wa‑l‑ṣābirīna fī l‑baʾsāʾi wa‑l‑ḍarrāʾi wa‑ḥīna l‑basi ulāʾika lladhīna ṣadaqū wa‑ūlāʾika humu l‑muttaqūna | It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east
or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and
the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance,
out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the
wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast
in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye
have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and
adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of
truth, the Allah-fearing.
Sura al-Baqara 2:177 لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ laysa l-birra an tuwallū wujūhakum qibala l-mashriqi wa-l-maghribi wa-lākinna l-birra man āmana billāhi wa-l-yawmi l-akhiri wa-l-malāʾikati wa-l-kitābi wa-l-nabīyina wa-ātā l-māla ʿalā ḥubbihi dhawī l-qurbā wa-l-yatāmā wa-l-masākīna wa-ibna l-sabīli wa-l-sāʾilīna wa-fī l-riqābi wa-aqāma l-ṣalāta wa-ātā l-zakāta wa-l-mūfūna bi-ʿahdihim idhā ʿāhadū wa-l-ṣābirīna fī l-baʾsāʾi wa-l-ḍarrāʾi wa-ḥīna l-basi ulāʾika lladhīna ṣadaqū wa-ūlāʾika humu l-muttaqūna It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. (3:183) | ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَآ أَلَّا نُؤْمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَنَا بِقُرْبَانٍ تَأْكُلُهُ ٱلنَّارُ قُلْ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِى بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَبِٱلَّذِى قُلْتُمْ فَلِمَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ | lladhīna qālū inna allāha ʿahida ilaynā allā numina lirasūlin ḥattā yaʾtiyanā bi‑qurbānin takuluhu l‑nāru qul qad jāʾakum rusulun min qablī bil‑bayyināti wa‑billadhī qultum falima qataltumūhum in kuntum ṣādiqīna | They (also) said: "Allah took our promise not to believe in an
messenger unless He showed us a sacrifice consumed by Fire (From heaven)."
Say: "There came to you messengers before me, with clear Signs and even with
what ye ask for: why then did ye slay them, if ye speak the truth?"
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:183 ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَآ أَلَّا نُؤْمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَنَا بِقُرْبَانٍ تَأْكُلُهُ ٱلنَّارُ قُلْ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِى بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَبِٱلَّذِى قُلْتُمْ فَلِمَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ lladhīna qālū inna allāha ʿahida ilaynā allā numina lirasūlin ḥattā yaʾtiyanā bi-qurbānin takuluhu l-nāru qul qad jāʾakum rusulun min qablī bil-bayyināti wa-billadhī qultum falima qataltumūhum in kuntum ṣādiqīna They (also) said: "Allah took our promise not to believe in an messenger unless He showed us a sacrifice consumed by Fire (From heaven)." (7:134) | وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّجْزُ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَى ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا ٱلرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ | wa‑lammā waqaʿa ʿalayhimu l‑rijzu qālū yā‑musā idʿu la‑nā rabbaka bi‑mā ʿahida ʿindaka lain kashafta ʿannā l‑rijza la‑nuʾminanna la‑ka wa‑la‑nursilanna maʿaka banī isrāʾīla | Every time the penalty fell on them, they said: "O Moses! on
your behalf call on thy Lord in virtue of his promise to thee: If thou wilt
remove the penalty from us, we shall truly believe in thee, and we shall
send away the Children of Israel with thee."
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:134 وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّجْزُ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَى ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا ٱلرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ wa-lammā waqaʿa ʿalayhimu l-rijzu qālū yā-musā idʿu la-nā rabbaka bi-mā ʿahida ʿindaka lain kashafta ʿannā l-rijza la-nuʾminanna la-ka wa-la-nursilanna maʿaka banī isrāʾīla Every time the penalty fell on them, they said: "O Moses! on your behalf call on thy Lord in virtue of his promise to thee: If thou wilt remove the penalty from us, we shall truly believe in thee, and we shall send away the Children of Israel with thee." |
(8:56) | ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتَّ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَهُمْ فِى كُلِّ مَرَّةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يَتَّقُونَ | lladhīna ʿāhadtta minhum thumma yanquḍūna ʿahdahum fī kulli marratin wa‑hum lā yattaqūna | They are those with whom thou didst make a covenant, but they
break their covenant every time, and they have not the fear (of Allah).
Sura al-Anfāl 8:56 ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتَّ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَهُمْ فِى كُلِّ مَرَّةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يَتَّقُونَ lladhīna ʿāhadtta minhum thumma yanquḍūna ʿahdahum fī kulli marratin wa-hum lā yattaqūna They are those with whom thou didst make a covenant, but they break their covenant every time, and they have not the fear (of Allah). |
(9:1) | بَرَآءَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ | barāʾatun mina allāhi wa‑rasūlihi ilā lladhīna ʿāhadttum mina l‑mushrikīna | A (declaration) of immunity from Allah and His Messenger, to those
of the Pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances:-
Sura al-Tawbah 9:1 بَرَآءَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ barāʾatun mina allāhi wa-rasūlihi ilā lladhīna ʿāhadttum mina l-mushrikīna A (declaration) of immunity from Allah and His Messenger, to those of the Pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances:- |
(9:4) | إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنقُصُوكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَمْ يُظَٰهِرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدًا فَأَتِمُّوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ | illā lladhīna ʿāhadttum mina l‑mushrikīna thumma lam yanquṣūkum shayʾan wa‑lam yuẓāhirū ʿalaykum aḥadan fa‑atimmū ilayhim ʿahdahum ilā muddatihim inna allāha yuḥibbu l‑muttaqīna | (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with
whom ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you
in aught, nor aided any one against you. So fulfil your engagements with
them to the end of their term: for Allah loveth the righteous.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:4 إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنقُصُوكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَمْ يُظَٰهِرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدًا فَأَتِمُّوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ illā lladhīna ʿāhadttum mina l-mushrikīna thumma lam yanquṣūkum shayʾan wa-lam yuẓāhirū ʿalaykum aḥadan fa-atimmū ilayhim ʿahdahum ilā muddatihim inna allāha yuḥibbu l-muttaqīna (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided any one against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their term: for Allah loveth the righteous. |
(9:7) | كَيْفَ يَكُونُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ عَهْدٌ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَعِندَ رَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّمْ عِندَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ فَمَا ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱسْتَقِيمُوا۟ لَهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ | kayfa yakūnu lil‑mushrikīna ʿahdun ʿinda allāhi wa‑ʿinda rasūlihi illā lladhīna ʿāhadttum ʿinda l‑masjidi l‑ḥarāmi fa‑mā istaqāmū la‑kum fa‑istaqīmū lahum inna allāha yuḥibbu l‑muttaqīna | How can there be a league, before Allah and His Messenger, with
the Pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty near the sacred Mosque?
As long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for Allah doth
love the righteous.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:7 كَيْفَ يَكُونُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ عَهْدٌ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَعِندَ رَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّمْ عِندَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ فَمَا ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱسْتَقِيمُوا۟ لَهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ kayfa yakūnu lil-mushrikīna ʿahdun ʿinda allāhi wa-ʿinda rasūlihi illā lladhīna ʿāhadttum ʿinda l-masjidi l-ḥarāmi fa-mā istaqāmū la-kum fa-istaqīmū lahum inna allāha yuḥibbu l-muttaqīna How can there be a league, before Allah and His Messenger, with the Pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty near the sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for Allah doth love the righteous. |
(9:75) | وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ عَٰهَدَ ٱللَّـهَ لَئِنْ ءَاتَىٰنَا مِن فَضْلِهِۦ لَنَصَّدَّقَنَّ وَلَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ | wa‑minhum man ʿāhada allāha lain atānā min faḍlihi la‑naṣṣaddaqanna wa‑la‑nakūnanna mina l‑ṣāliḥīna | Amongst them are men who made a covenant with Allah, that if He
bestowed on them of His bounty, they would give (largely) in charity, and
be truly amongst those who are righteous.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:75 وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ عَٰهَدَ ٱللَّـهَ لَئِنْ ءَاتَىٰنَا مِن فَضْلِهِۦ لَنَصَّدَّقَنَّ وَلَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ wa-minhum man ʿāhada allāha lain atānā min faḍlihi la-naṣṣaddaqanna wa-la-nakūnanna mina l-ṣāliḥīna Amongst them are men who made a covenant with Allah, that if He bestowed on them of His bounty, they would give (largely) in charity, and be truly amongst those who are righteous. |
(16:91) | وَأَوْفُوا۟ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّـهِ إِذَا عَٰهَدتُّمْ وَلَا تَنقُضُوا۟ ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلًا إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ | wa‑awfū biʿahdi allāhi idhā ʿāhadttum wa‑lā tanquḍū l‑aymāna baʿda tawkīdihā wa‑qad jaʿaltumu allāha ʿalaykum kafīlan inna allāha yaʿlamu mā tafʿalūna | Fulfil the Covenant of Allah when ye have entered into it, and
break not your oaths after ye have confirmed them; indeed ye have made Allah
your surety; for Allah knoweth all that ye do.
Sura al-Naḥl 16:91 وَأَوْفُوا۟ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّـهِ إِذَا عَٰهَدتُّمْ وَلَا تَنقُضُوا۟ ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلًا إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ wa-awfū biʿahdi allāhi idhā ʿāhadttum wa-lā tanquḍū l-aymāna baʿda tawkīdihā wa-qad jaʿaltumu allāha ʿalaykum kafīlan inna allāha yaʿlamu mā tafʿalūna Fulfil the Covenant of Allah when ye have entered into it, and break not your oaths after ye have confirmed them; indeed ye have made Allah your surety; for Allah knoweth all that ye do. |
(33:15) | وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ ٱلْأَدْبَٰرَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ ٱللَّـهِ مَسْـُٔولًا | wa‑la‑qad kānū ʿāhadū allāha min qablu lā yuwallūna l‑adbāra wa‑kāna ʿahdu allāhi masʾūlan | And yet they had already covenanted with Allah not to turn their
backs, and a covenant with Allah must (surely) be answered for.
Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:15 وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ ٱلْأَدْبَٰرَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ ٱللَّـهِ مَسْـُٔولًا wa-la-qad kānū ʿāhadū allāha min qablu lā yuwallūna l-adbāra wa-kāna ʿahdu allāhi masʾūlan And yet they had already covenanted with Allah not to turn their backs, and a covenant with Allah must (surely) be answered for. |
(33:23) | مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا۟ مَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُۥ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا۟ تَبْدِيلًا | mina l‑muʾminīna rijālun ṣadaqū mā ʿāhadū allāha ʿalayhi fa‑minhum man qaḍa naḥbahu wa‑minhum man yantaẓiru wa‑mā baddalū tabdīlan | Among the Believers are men who have been true to their
covenant with Allah: of them some have completed their vow (to the extreme),
and some (still) wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in
the least:
Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:23 مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا۟ مَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُۥ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا۟ تَبْدِيلًا mina l-muʾminīna rijālun ṣadaqū mā ʿāhadū allāha ʿalayhi fa-minhum man qaḍa naḥbahu wa-minhum man yantaẓiru wa-mā baddalū tabdīlan Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah: of them some have completed their vow (to the extreme), and some (still) wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in the least: |
(43:49) | وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَيُّهَ ٱلسَّاحِرُ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ إِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُونَ | wa‑qālū yā‑ayyuha l‑sāḥiru idʿu la‑nā rabbaka bi‑mā ʿahida ʿindaka innanā la‑muhtadūna | And they said, "O thou sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us
according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance."
Sura al-Zukhruf 43:49 وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَيُّهَ ٱلسَّاحِرُ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ إِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُونَ wa-qālū yā-ayyuha l-sāḥiru idʿu la-nā rabbaka bi-mā ʿahida ʿindaka innanā la-muhtadūna And they said, "O thou sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance." |
(48:10) | إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَايِعُونَكَ إِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُونَ ٱللَّـهَ يَدُ ٱللَّـهِ فَوْقَ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَمَن نَّكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ وَمَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِمَا عَٰهَدَ عَلَيْهُ ٱللَّـهَ فَسَيُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا | inna lladhīna yubāyiʿūnaka innamā yubāyiʿūna allāha yadu allāhi fawqa aydīhim fa‑man nakatha fa‑innamā yankuthu ʿalā nafsihi wa‑man awfā bi‑mā ʿāhada ʿalayhu allāha fa‑sa‑yuʾtīhi ajran ʿaẓīman | Verily those who plight their fealty to thee do no less than
plight their fealty to Allah: the Hand of Allah is over their hands: then any
one who violates his oath, does so to the harm of his own soul, and any one
who fulfils what he has covenanted with Allah,- Allah will soon grant him a
great Reward.
