(3:121) | وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ وَٱللَّـهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ | wa‑idh ghadawta min ahlika tubawwiʾu l‑muʾminīna maqāʿida lil‑qitāli wallāhu samīʿun ʿalīmun | Remember that morning Thou didst leave Thy household (early)
to post the faithful at their stations for battle: And Allah heareth and
knoweth all things:
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:121 وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ وَٱللَّـهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ wa-idh ghadawta min ahlika tubawwiʾu l-muʾminīna maqāʿida lil-qitāli wallāhu samīʿun ʿalīmun Remember that morning Thou didst leave Thy household (early) to post the faithful at their stations for battle: And Allah heareth and knoweth all things: |
(6:52) | وَلَا تَطْرُدِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلْعَشِىِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُۥ مَا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ وَمَا مِنْ حِسَابِكَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ فَتَطْرُدَهُمْ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ | wa‑lā taṭrudi lladhīna yadʿūna rabbahum bil‑ghadāti wa‑l‑ʿashiyyi yurīdūna wajhahu mā ʿalayka min ḥisābihim min shayʾin wa‑mā min ḥisābika ʿalayhim min shayʾin fa‑taṭrudahum fa‑takūna mina l‑ẓālimīna | Send not away those who call on their Lord morning and
evening, seeking His face. In naught art thou accountable for them, and in
naught are they accountable for thee, that thou shouldst turn them away,
and thus be (one) of the unjust.
Sura al-Anʿām 6:52 وَلَا تَطْرُدِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلْعَشِىِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُۥ مَا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ وَمَا مِنْ حِسَابِكَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ فَتَطْرُدَهُمْ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ wa-lā taṭrudi lladhīna yadʿūna rabbahum bil-ghadāti wa-l-ʿashiyyi yurīdūna wajhahu mā ʿalayka min ḥisābihim min shayʾin wa-mā min ḥisābika ʿalayhim min shayʾin fa-taṭrudahum fa-takūna mina l-ẓālimīna Send not away those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His face. In naught art thou accountable for them, and in naught are they accountable for thee, that thou shouldst turn them away, and thus be (one) of the unjust. |
(7:205) | وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ فِى نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَخِيفَةً وَدُونَ ٱلْجَهْرِ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْأَصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ | wa‑idhkur rabbaka fī nafsika taḍarruʿan wa‑khīfatan wa‑dūna l‑jahri mina l‑qawli bil‑ghuduwwi wa‑l‑aṣāli wa‑lā takun mina l‑ghāfilīna | And do thou (O reader!) Bring thy Lord to remembrance in thy
(very) soul, with humility and in reverence, without loudness in words, in
the mornings and evenings; and be not thou of those who are unheedful.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:205 وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ فِى نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَخِيفَةً وَدُونَ ٱلْجَهْرِ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْأَصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ wa-idhkur rabbaka fī nafsika taḍarruʿan wa-khīfatan wa-dūna l-jahri mina l-qawli bil-ghuduwwi wa-l-aṣāli wa-lā takun mina l-ghāfilīna And do thou (O reader!) Bring thy Lord to remembrance in thy (very) soul, with humility and in reverence, without loudness in words, in the mornings and evenings; and be not thou of those who are unheedful. |
(12:12) | أَرْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا غَدًا يَرْتَعْ وَيَلْعَبْ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ | arsilhu maʿanā ghadan yartaʿ wa‑yalʿab wa‑innā lahu la‑ḥāfiẓūna | "Send him with us tomorrow to enjoy himself and play, and we
shall take every care of him."
Sura Yūsuf 12:12 أَرْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا غَدًا يَرْتَعْ وَيَلْعَبْ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ arsilhu maʿanā ghadan yartaʿ wa-yalʿab wa-innā lahu la-ḥāfiẓūna "Send him with us tomorrow to enjoy himself and play, and we shall take every care of him." |
(13:15) | وَلِلَّەِ يَسْجُدُ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَظِلَٰلُهُم بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْأَصَالِ | wa‑lillahi yasjudu man fī l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi ṭawʿan wa‑karhan wa‑ẓilāluhum bil‑ghuduwwi wa‑l‑aṣāli | Whatever beings there are in the heavens and the earth do
prostrate themselves to Allah (Acknowledging subjection),- with good-will or
in spite of themselves: so do their shadows in the morning and evenings.
Sura al-Raʿd 13:15 وَلِلَّەِ يَسْجُدُ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَظِلَٰلُهُم بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْأَصَالِ wa-lillahi yasjudu man fī l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi ṭawʿan wa-karhan wa-ẓilāluhum bil-ghuduwwi wa-l-aṣāli Whatever beings there are in the heavens and the earth do prostrate themselves to Allah (Acknowledging subjection),- with good-will or in spite of themselves: so do their shadows in the morning and evenings. |
(18:23) | وَلَا تَقُولَنَّ لِشَا۟ىْءٍ إِنِّى فَاعِلٌ ذَٰلِكَ غَدًا | wa‑lā taqūlanna li‑shāyʾin innī fāʿilun dhālika ghadan | Nor say of anything, "I shall be sure to do so and so
tomorrow"-
Sura al-Kahf 18:23 وَلَا تَقُولَنَّ لِشَا۟ىْءٍ إِنِّى فَاعِلٌ ذَٰلِكَ غَدًا wa-lā taqūlanna li-shāyʾin innī fāʿilun dhālika ghadan Nor say of anything, "I shall be sure to do so and so tomorrow"- |
(18:28) | وَٱصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلْعَشِىِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُۥ وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُۥ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُۥ فُرُطًا | wa‑iṣbir nafsaka maʿa lladhīna yadʿūna rabbahum bil‑ghadāti wa‑l‑ʿashiyyi yurīdūna wajhahu wa‑lā taʿdu ʿaynāka ʿanhum turīdu zīnata l‑ḥayāti l‑dunyā wa‑lā tuṭiʿ man aghfalnā qalbahu ʿan dhikrinā wa‑ittabaʿa hawahu wa‑kāna amruhu furuṭan | And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord
morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond
them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We
have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own
desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.
Sura al-Kahf 18:28 وَٱصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلْعَشِىِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُۥ وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُۥ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُۥ فُرُطًا wa-iṣbir nafsaka maʿa lladhīna yadʿūna rabbahum bil-ghadāti wa-l-ʿashiyyi yurīdūna wajhahu wa-lā taʿdu ʿaynāka ʿanhum turīdu zīnata l-ḥayāti l-dunyā wa-lā tuṭiʿ man aghfalnā qalbahu ʿan dhikrinā wa-ittabaʿa hawahu wa-kāna amruhu furuṭan And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds. |
(18:62) | فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَا قَالَ لِفَتَىٰهُ ءَاتِنَا غَدَآءَنَا لَقَدْ لَقِينَا مِن سَفَرِنَا هَٰذَا نَصَبًا | fa‑lammā jāwazā qalā li‑fatāhu ātinā ghadāʾanā la‑qad laqīnā min safarinā hādhā naṣaban | When they had passed on (some distance), Moses said to his
attendant: "Bring us our early meal; truly we have suffered much fatigue at
this (stage of) our journey."
Sura al-Kahf 18:62 فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَا قَالَ لِفَتَىٰهُ ءَاتِنَا غَدَآءَنَا لَقَدْ لَقِينَا مِن سَفَرِنَا هَٰذَا نَصَبًا fa-lammā jāwazā qalā li-fatāhu ātinā ghadāʾanā la-qad laqīnā min safarinā hādhā naṣaban When they had passed on (some distance), Moses said to his attendant: "Bring us our early meal; truly we have suffered much fatigue at this (stage of) our journey." |
(24:36) | فِى بُيُوتٍ أَذِنَ ٱللَّـهُ أَن تُرْفَعَ وَيُذْكَرَ فِيهَا ٱسْمُهُۥ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ فِيهَا بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْأَصَالِ | fī buyūtin adhina allāhu an turfaʿa wa‑yudhkara fīhā ismuhu yusabbiḥu lahu fīhā bil‑ghuduwwi wa‑l‑aṣāli | (Lit is such a Light) in houses, which Allah hath permitted to
be raised to honour; for the celebration, in them, of His name: In them is
He glorified in the mornings and in the evenings, (again and again),-
Sura al-Nūr 24:36 فِى بُيُوتٍ أَذِنَ ٱللَّـهُ أَن تُرْفَعَ وَيُذْكَرَ فِيهَا ٱسْمُهُۥ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ فِيهَا بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْأَصَالِ fī buyūtin adhina allāhu an turfaʿa wa-yudhkara fīhā ismuhu yusabbiḥu lahu fīhā bil-ghuduwwi wa-l-aṣāli (Lit is such a Light) in houses, which Allah hath permitted to be raised to honour; for the celebration, in them, of His name: In them is He glorified in the mornings and in the evenings, (again and again),- |
(31:34) | إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ ٱلْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌۢ بِأَىِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌۢ | inna allāha ʿindahu ʿilmu l‑sāʿati wa‑yunazzilu l‑ghaytha wa‑yaʿlamu mā fī l‑arḥāmi wa‑mā tadrī nafsun mādhā taksibu ghadan wa‑mā tadrī nafsun bi‑ayyi arḍin tamūtu inna allāha ʿalīmun khabīrun | Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He
Who sends down rain, and He Who knows what is in the wombs. Nor does any
one know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: Nor does any one know
in what land he is to die. Verily with Allah is full knowledge and He is
acquainted (with all things).
Sura Luqmān 31:34 إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ ٱلْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌۢ بِأَىِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌۢ inna allāha ʿindahu ʿilmu l-sāʿati wa-yunazzilu l-ghaytha wa-yaʿlamu mā fī l-arḥāmi wa-mā tadrī nafsun mādhā taksibu ghadan wa-mā tadrī nafsun bi-ayyi arḍin tamūtu inna allāha ʿalīmun khabīrun Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He Who sends down rain, and He Who knows what is in the wombs. Nor does any one know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: Nor does any one know in what land he is to die. Verily with Allah is full knowledge and He is acquainted (with all things). |
(34:12) | وَلِسُلَيْمَٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهْرٌ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهْرٌ وَأَسَلْنَا لَهُۥ عَيْنَ ٱلْقِطْرِ وَمِنَ ٱلْجِنِّ مَن يَعْمَلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦ وَمَن يَزِغْ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ أَمْرِنَا نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ | wa‑li‑sulaymāna l‑rīḥa ghuduwwuhā shahrun wa‑rawāḥuhā shahrun wa‑asalnā lahu ʿayna l‑qiṭri wa‑mina l‑jinni man yaʿmalu bayna yadayhi bi‑idhni rabbihi wa‑man yazigh minhum ʿan amrinā nudhiqhu min ʿadhābi l‑saʿīri | And to Solomon (We made) the Wind (obedient): Its early
morning (stride) was a month's (journey), and its evening (stride) was a
month's (journey); and We made a Font of molten brass to flow for him; and
there were Jinns that worked in front of him, by the leave of his Lord, and
if any of them turned aside from our command, We made him taste of the
Penalty of the Blazing Fire.
Sura Sabaʾ 34:12 وَلِسُلَيْمَٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهْرٌ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهْرٌ وَأَسَلْنَا لَهُۥ عَيْنَ ٱلْقِطْرِ وَمِنَ ٱلْجِنِّ مَن يَعْمَلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦ وَمَن يَزِغْ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ أَمْرِنَا نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ wa-li-sulaymāna l-rīḥa ghuduwwuhā shahrun wa-rawāḥuhā shahrun wa-asalnā lahu ʿayna l-qiṭri wa-mina l-jinni man yaʿmalu bayna yadayhi bi-idhni rabbihi wa-man yazigh minhum ʿan amrinā nudhiqhu min ʿadhābi l-saʿīri And to Solomon (We made) the Wind (obedient): Its early morning (stride) was a month's (journey), and its evening (stride) was a month's (journey); and We made a Font of molten brass to flow for him; and there were Jinns that worked in front of him, by the leave of his Lord, and if any of them turned aside from our command, We made him taste of the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. |
(40:46) | ٱلنَّارُ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا غُدُوًّا وَعَشِيًّا وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوٓا۟ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ ٱلْعَذَابِ | l‑nāru yuʿraḍūna ʿalayhā ghuduwwan wa‑ʿashiyyan wa‑yawma taqūmu l‑sāʿatu adkhilū āla firʿawna ashadda l‑ʿadhābi | In front of the Fire will they be brought, morning and
evening: And (the sentence will be) on the Day that Judgment will be
established: "Cast ye the People of Pharaoh into the severest Penalty!"
Sura al-Ghāfir 40:46 ٱلنَّارُ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا غُدُوًّا وَعَشِيًّا وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوٓا۟ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ ٱلْعَذَابِ l-nāru yuʿraḍūna ʿalayhā ghuduwwan wa-ʿashiyyan wa-yawma taqūmu l-sāʿatu adkhilū āla firʿawna ashadda l-ʿadhābi In front of the Fire will they be brought, morning and evening: And (the sentence will be) on the Day that Judgment will be established: "Cast ye the People of Pharaoh into the severest Penalty!" |
(54:26) | سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَّنِ ٱلْكَذَّابُ ٱلْأَشِرُ | sa‑yaʿlamūna ghadan mani l‑kadhdhābu l‑ashiru | Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the
insolent one!
Sura al-Qamar 54:26 سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَّنِ ٱلْكَذَّابُ ٱلْأَشِرُ sa-yaʿlamūna ghadan mani l-kadhdhābu l-ashiru Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! |
(59:18) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ittaqū allāha waltanẓur nafsun mā qaddamat lighadin wa‑ittaqū allāha inna allāha khabīrun bi‑mā taʿmalūna | O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and let every soul look to what
(provision) He has sent forth for the morrow. Yea, fear Allah: for Allah is
well-acquainted with (all) that ye do.
Sura al-Ḥashr 59:18 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ittaqū allāha waltanẓur nafsun mā qaddamat lighadin wa-ittaqū allāha inna allāha khabīrun bi-mā taʿmalūna O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and let every soul look to what (provision) He has sent forth for the morrow. Yea, fear Allah: for Allah is well-acquainted with (all) that ye do. |
(68:22) | أَنِ ٱغْدُوا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰرِمِينَ | ani ighdū ʿalā ḥarthikum in kuntum ṣārimīna | "Go ye to your tilth (betimes) in the morning, if ye would
gather the fruits."
Sura al-Qalam 68:22 أَنِ ٱغْدُوا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰرِمِينَ ani ighdū ʿalā ḥarthikum in kuntum ṣārimīna "Go ye to your tilth (betimes) in the morning, if ye would gather the fruits." |
(68:25) | وَغَدَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍ قَٰدِرِينَ | wa‑ghadaw ʿalā ḥardin qādirīna | And they opened the morning, strong in an (unjust) resolve.
