Surah 9 al-Tawbah (Repentance)

(9:60)    | إِنَّمَا ٱلصَّدَقَٰتُ لِلْفُقَرَآءِ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ عَلَيْهَا وَٱلْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَٱلْغَٰرِمِينَ وَفِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَرِيضَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ | innamā l‑ṣadaqātu lil‑fuqarāʾi wa‑l‑masākīni wa‑l‑ʿāmilīna ʿalayhā wa‑l‑muʾallafati qulūbuhum wa‑fī l‑riqābi wa‑l‑ghārimīna wa‑fī sabīli allāhi wa‑ibni l‑sabīli farīḍatan mina allāhi wallāhu ʿalīmun ḥakīmun | Alms are for the poor and the needy, and those employed to
administer the (funds); for those whose hearts have been (recently)
reconciled (to Truth); for those in bondage and in debt; in the cause of
Allah; and for the wayfarer: (thus is it) ordained by Allah, and Allah is full of
knowledge and wisdom.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:60 إِنَّمَا ٱلصَّدَقَٰتُ لِلْفُقَرَآءِ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ عَلَيْهَا وَٱلْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَٱلْغَٰرِمِينَ وَفِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَرِيضَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ innamā l-ṣadaqātu lil-fuqarāʾi wa-l-masākīni wa-l-ʿāmilīna ʿalayhā wa-l-muʾallafati qulūbuhum wa-fī l-riqābi wa-l-ghārimīna wa-fī sabīli allāhi wa-ibni l-sabīli farīḍatan mina allāhi wallāhu ʿalīmun ḥakīmun Alms are for the poor and the needy, and those employed to administer the (funds); for those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled (to Truth); for those in bondage and in debt; in the cause of Allah; and for the wayfarer: (thus is it) ordained by Allah, and Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom. |
| (9:98) | وَمِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنفِقُ مَغْرَمًا وَيَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمُ ٱلدَّوَآئِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ دَآئِرَةُ ٱلسَّوْءِ وَٱللَّـهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ | wa‑mina l‑aʿrābi man yattakhidhu mā yunfiqu maghraman wa‑yatarabbaṣu bikumu l‑dawāʾira ʿalayhim dāʾiratu l‑sawʾi wallāhu samīʿun ʿalīmun | Some of the desert Arabs look upon their payments as a fine,
and watch for disasters for you: on them be the disaster of evil: for Allah
is He That heareth and knoweth (all things).
Sura al-Tawbah 9:98 وَمِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنفِقُ مَغْرَمًا وَيَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمُ ٱلدَّوَآئِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ دَآئِرَةُ ٱلسَّوْءِ وَٱللَّـهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ wa-mina l-aʿrābi man yattakhidhu mā yunfiqu maghraman wa-yatarabbaṣu bikumu l-dawāʾira ʿalayhim dāʾiratu l-sawʾi wallāhu samīʿun ʿalīmun Some of the desert Arabs look upon their payments as a fine, and watch for disasters for you: on them be the disaster of evil: for Allah is He That heareth and knoweth (all things). |
Surah 25 al-Furqān (The Criterion) | (25:65) | وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا | wa‑lladhīna yaqūlūna rabbanā iṣrif ʿannā ʿadhāba jahannama inna ʿadhābahā kāna gharāman | Those who say, "Our Lord! avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for
its Wrath is indeed an affliction grievous,-
Sura al-Furqān 25:65 وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا wa-lladhīna yaqūlūna rabbanā iṣrif ʿannā ʿadhāba jahannama inna ʿadhābahā kāna gharāman Those who say, "Our Lord! avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is indeed an affliction grievous,- |
Surah 52 al-Ṭūr (The Mountain) | (52:40) | أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ | am tasʾaluhum ajran fa‑hum min maghramin muthqalūna | Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are
burdened with a load of debt?-
Sura al-Ṭūr 52:40 أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ am tasʾaluhum ajran fa-hum min maghramin muthqalūna Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- |
Surah 56 al-Wāqiʿah (That Which is Coming) | (56:66) | إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ | innā la‑mughramūna | (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing):

Surah 68 al-Qalam (The Pen) | (68:46) | أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ | am tasʾaluhum ajran fa‑hum min maghramin muthqalūna | Or is it that thou dost ask them for a reward, so that they
are burdened with a load of debt?-
Sura al-Qalam 68:46 أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ am tasʾaluhum ajran fa-hum min maghramin muthqalūna Or is it that thou dost ask them for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- |
