Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:58)

And remember We said: "Enter this town, and eat of the plenty therein as ye wish; but enter the gate with humility, in posture and in words, and We shall forgive you your faults and increase (the portion of) those who do good."
(2:199)

Then pass on at a quick pace from the place whence it is usual for the multitude so to do, and ask for Allah's forgiveness. For Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
(2:284)

لِلَّـهِ  مَا  فِى  ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ  وَمَا  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  وَإِن  تُبْدُوا۟  مَا  فِىٓ  أَنفُسِكُمْ  أَوْ  تُخْفُوهُ  يُحَاسِبْكُم  بِهِ  ٱللَّـهُ  فَيَغْفِرُ  لِمَن  يَشَآءُ  وَيُعَذِّبُ  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَٱللَّـهُ  عَلَىٰ  كُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  قَدِيرٌ lillāhi l‑samāwāti wa‑mā l‑arḍi wa‑in tubdū anfusikum aw tukhfūhu yuḥāsibkum bihi allāhu fayaghfiru li‑man yashāʾu wa‑yuʿadhdhibu man yashāʾu wallāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun
To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. Whether ye show what is in your minds or conceal it, Allah Calleth you to account for it. He forgiveth whom He pleaseth, and punisheth whom He pleaseth, for Allah hath power over all things.
(2:286)

لَا  يُكَلِّفُ  ٱللَّـهُ  نَفْسًا  إِلَّا  وُسْعَهَا  لَهَا  مَا  كَسَبَتْ  وَعَلَيْهَا  مَا  ٱكْتَسَبَتْ  رَبَّنَا  لَا  تُؤَاخِذْنَآ  إِن  نَّسِينَآ  أَوْ  أَخْطَأْنَا  رَبَّنَا  وَلَا  تَحْمِلْ  عَلَيْنَآ  إِصْرًا  كَمَا  حَمَلْتَهُۥ  عَلَى  ٱلَّذِينَ  مِن  قَبْلِنَا  رَبَّنَا  وَلَا  تُحَمِّلْنَا  مَا  لَا  طَاقَةَ  لَنَا  بِهِۦ  وَٱعْفُ  عَنَّا  وَٱغْفِرْ  لَنَا  وَٱرْحَمْنَآ  أَنتَ  مَوْلَىٰنَا  فَٱنصُرْنَا  عَلَى  ٱلْقَوْمِ  ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ yukallifu allāhu nafsan illā wusʿahā lahā kasabat wa‑ʿalayhā aktasabat rabbanā tuʾākhidhnā in nasīnā aw akhṭanā rabbanā wa‑lā taḥmil ʿalaynā iṣran ka‑mā ḥamaltahu ʿalā lladhīna min qablinā rabbanā wa‑lā tuḥammilnā ṭāqata la‑nā bihi wa‑aʿfu ʿannā wa‑aghfir la‑nā wa‑arḥamnā anta mawlanā fa‑anṣurnā ʿalā l‑qawmi l‑kāfirīna
On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray:) "Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith."

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:16)

(Namely), those who say: "Our Lord! we have indeed believed: forgive us, then, our sins, and save us from the agony of the Fire;"-
(3:31)

قُلْ  إِن  كُنتُمْ  تُحِبُّونَ  ٱللَّـهَ  فَٱتَّبِعُونِى  يُحْبِبْكُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  وَيَغْفِرْ  لَكُمْ  ذُنُوبَكُمْ  وَٱللَّـهُ  غَفُورٌ  رَّحِيمٌ qul in kuntum tuḥibbūna allāha fa‑ittabiʿūnī yuḥbibkumu allāhu wa‑yaghfir la‑kum dhunūbakum wallāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun
Say: "If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
(3:129)

وَلِلَّەِ  مَا  فِى  ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ  وَمَا  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  يَغْفِرُ  لِمَن  يَشَآءُ  وَيُعَذِّبُ  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَٱللَّـهُ  غَفُورٌ  رَّحِيمٌ wa‑lillahi l‑samāwāti wa‑mā l‑arḍi yaghfiru li‑man yashāʾu wa‑yuʿadhdhibu man yashāʾu wallāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun
To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. He forgiveth whom He pleaseth and punisheth whom He pleaseth; but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
(3:135)

وَٱلَّذِينَ  إِذَا  فَعَلُوا۟  فَٰحِشَةً  أَوْ  ظَلَمُوٓا۟  أَنفُسَهُمْ  ذَكَرُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟  لِذُنُوبِهِمْ  وَمَن  يَغْفِرُ  ٱلذُّنُوبَ  إِلَّا  ٱللَّـهُ  وَلَمْ  يُصِرُّوا۟  عَلَىٰ  مَا  فَعَلُوا۟  وَهُمْ  يَعْلَمُونَ wa‑lladhīna idhā faʿalū fāḥishatan aw ẓalamū anfusahum dhakarū allāha fa‑astaghfarū lidhunūbihim wa‑man yaghfiru l‑dhunūba illā allāhu wa‑lam yuṣirrū ʿalā faʿalū wa‑hum yaʿlamūna
And those who, having done something to be ashamed of, or wronged their own souls, earnestly bring Allah to mind, and ask for forgiveness for their sins,- and who can forgive sins except Allah?- and are never obstinate in persisting knowingly in (the wrong) they have done.
(3:147)

وَمَا  كَانَ  قَوْلَهُمْ  إِلَّآ  أَن  قَالُوا۟  رَبَّنَا  ٱغْفِرْ  لَنَا  ذُنُوبَنَا  وَإِسْرَافَنَا  فِىٓ  أَمْرِنَا  وَثَبِّتْ  أَقْدَامَنَا  وَٱنصُرْنَا  عَلَى  ٱلْقَوْمِ  ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ wa‑mā kāna qawlahum illā an qālū rabbanā aghfir la‑nā dhunūbanā waisrāfanā amrinā wa‑thabbit aqdāmanā wa‑anṣurnā ʿalā l‑qawmi l‑kāfirīna
All that they said was: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and anything We may have done that transgressed our duty: Establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist Faith."
(3:159)

It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (Their faults), and ask for (Allah's) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast Taken a decision put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).
(3:193)

رَّبَّنَآ  إِنَّنَا  سَمِعْنَا  مُنَادِيًا  يُنَادِى  لِلْإِيمَٰنِ  أَنْ  ءَامِنُوا۟  بِرَبِّكُمْ  فَـَٔامَنَّا  رَبَّنَا  فَٱغْفِرْ  لَنَا  ذُنُوبَنَا  وَكَفِّرْ  عَنَّا  سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا  وَتَوَفَّنَا  مَعَ  ٱلْأَبْرَارِ rabbanā innanā samiʿnā munādiyan yunādī lil‑īmāni an āminū birabbikum fa‑āmannā rabbanā fa‑ighfir la‑nā dhunūbanā wa‑kaffir ʿannā sayyiātinā wa‑tawaffanā maʿa l‑abrāri
"Our Lord! we have heard the call of one calling (Us) to Faith, 'Believe ye in the Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, blot out from us our iniquities, and take to Thyself our souls in the company of the righteous.

Surah 4 al-Nisāʾ (The Women)
(4:48)

إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَا  يَغْفِرُ  أَن  يُشْرَكَ  بِهِۦ  وَيَغْفِرُ  مَا  دُونَ  ذَٰلِكَ  لِمَن  يَشَآءُ  وَمَن  يُشْرِكْ  بِٱللَّـهِ  فَقَدِ  ٱفْتَرَىٰٓ  إِثْمًا  عَظِيمًا inna allāha yaghfiru an yushraka bihi wayaghfiru dūna dhālika li‑man yashāʾu wa‑man yushrik billāhi fa‑qadi iftarā ithman ʿaẓīman
Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.
(4:64)

وَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَا  مِن  رَّسُولٍ  إِلَّا  لِيُطَاعَ  بِإِذْنِ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَلَوْ  أَنَّهُمْ  إِذ  ظَّلَمُوٓا۟  أَنفُسَهُمْ  جَآءُوكَ  فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ  لَهُمُ  ٱلرَّسُولُ  لَوَجَدُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  تَوَّابًا  رَّحِيمًا wa‑mā arsalnā min rrasūlin illā li‑yuṭāʿa bi‑idhni allāhi wa‑law annahum idh ẓalamū anfusahum jāʾūka fa‑astaghfarū allāha wa‑astaghfara lahumu l‑rasūlu la‑wajadū allāha tawwāban raḥīman
We sent not a messenger, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful.
(4:106)

But seek the forgiveness of Allah; for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
(4:110)

وَمَن  يَعْمَلْ  سُوٓءًا  أَوْ  يَظْلِمْ  نَفْسَهُۥ  ثُمَّ  يَسْتَغْفِرِ  ٱللَّـهَ  يَجِدِ  ٱللَّـهَ  غَفُورًا  رَّحِيمًا wa‑man yaʿmal sūʾan aw yaẓlim nafsahu thumma yastaghfiri allāha yajidi allāha ghafūran raḥīman
If any one does evil or wrongs his own soul but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
(4:116)

إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَا  يَغْفِرُ  أَن  يُشْرَكَ  بِهِۦ  وَيَغْفِرُ  مَا  دُونَ  ذَٰلِكَ  لِمَن  يَشَآءُ  وَمَن  يُشْرِكْ  بِٱللَّـهِ  فَقَدْ  ضَلَّ  ضَلَٰلًۢا  بَعِيدًا inna allāha yaghfiru an yushraka bihi wayaghfiru dūna dhālika li‑man yashāʾu wa‑man yushrik billāhi fa‑qad ḍalla ḍalālan baʿīdan
Allah forgiveth not (The sin of) joining other gods with Him; but He forgiveth whom He pleaseth other sins than this: one who joins other gods with Allah, Hath strayed far, far away (from the right).
(4:137)

Those who believe, then reject faith, then believe (again) and (again) reject faith, and go on increasing in unbelief,- Allah will not forgive them nor guide them nor guide them on the way.
(4:168)

Those who reject Faith and do wrong,- Allah will not forgive them nor guide them to any way-

Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)
(5:18)

وَقَالَتِ  ٱلْيَهُودُ  وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ  نَحْنُ  أَبْنَٰٓؤُا۟  ٱللَّـهِ  وَأَحِبَّٰٓؤُهُۥ  قُلْ  فَلِمَ  يُعَذِّبُكُم  بِذُنُوبِكُم  بَلْ  أَنتُم  بَشَرٌ  مِّمَّنْ  خَلَقَ  يَغْفِرُ  لِمَن  يَشَآءُ  وَيُعَذِّبُ  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَلِلَّەِ  مُلْكُ  ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ  وَٱلْأَرْضِ  وَمَا  بَيْنَهُمَا  وَإِلَيْهِ  ٱلْمَصِيرُ wa‑qālati l‑yahūdu wa‑l‑naṣārā naḥnu abnāʾu allāhi wa‑aḥibbāʾuhu qul falima yuʿadhdhibukum bi‑dhunūbikum bal antum basharun mimman khalaqa yaghfiru li‑man yashāʾu wa‑yuʿadhdhibu man yashāʾu wa‑lillahi mulku l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi wa‑mā baynahumā wa‑ilayhi l‑maṣīru
(Both) the Jews and the Christians say: "We are sons of Allah, and his beloved." Say: "Why then doth He punish you for your sins? Nay, ye are but men,- of the men he hath created: He forgiveth whom He pleaseth, and He punisheth whom He pleaseth: and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)"
(5:40)

أَلَمْ  تَعْلَمْ  أَنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَهُۥ  مُلْكُ  ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ  وَٱلْأَرْضِ  يُعَذِّبُ  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَيَغْفِرُ  لِمَن  يَشَآءُ  وَٱللَّـهُ  عَلَىٰ  كُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  قَدِيرٌ a‑lam taʿlam annā allāha lahu mulku l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi yuʿadhdhibu man yashāʾu wa‑yaghfiru li‑man yashāʾu wallāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun
Knowest thou not that to Allah (alone) belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth? He punisheth whom He pleaseth, and He forgiveth whom He pleaseth: and Allah hath power over all things.
(5:74)

أَفَلَا  يَتُوبُونَ  إِلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَهُۥ  وَٱللَّـهُ  غَفُورٌ  رَّحِيمٌ a‑fa‑lā yatūbūna ilā allāhi wa‑yastaghfirūnahu wallāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun
Why turn they not to Allah, and seek His forgiveness? For Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
(5:118)

إِن  تُعَذِّبْهُمْ  فَإِنَّهُمْ  عِبَادُكَ  وَإِن  تَغْفِرْ  لَهُمْ  فَإِنَّكَ  أَنتَ  ٱلْعَزِيزُ  ٱلْحَكِيمُ in tuʿadhdhibhum fainnahum ʿibāduka wa‑in taghfir lahum fa‑innaka anta l‑ʿazīzu l‑ḥakīmu
"If Thou dost punish them, they are Thy servant: If Thou dost forgive them, Thou art the Exalted in power, the Wise."

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:23)

قَالَا  رَبَّنَا  ظَلَمْنَآ  أَنفُسَنَا  وَإِن  لَّمْ  تَغْفِرْ  لَنَا  وَتَرْحَمْنَا  لَنَكُونَنَّ  مِنَ  ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ qalā rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa‑in lam taghfir la‑nā wa‑tarḥamnā la‑nakūnanna mina l‑khāsirīna
They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If thou forgive us not and bestow not upon us Thy Mercy, we shall certainly be lost."
(7:149)

When they repented, and saw that they had erred, they said: "If our Lord have not mercy upon us and forgive us, we shall indeed be of those who perish."
(7:151)

Moses prayed: "O my Lord! forgive me and my brother! admit us to Thy mercy! for Thou art the Most Merciful of those who show mercy!"
(7:155)

وَٱخْتَارَ  مُوسَىٰ  قَوْمَهُۥ  سَبْعِينَ  رَجُلًا  لِّمِيقَٰتِنَا  فَلَمَّآ  أَخَذَتْهُمُ  ٱلرَّجْفَةُ  قَالَ  رَبِّ  لَوْ  شِئْتَ  أَهْلَكْتَهُم  مِّن  قَبْلُ  وَإِيَّٰىَ  أَتُهْلِكُنَا  بِمَا  فَعَلَ  ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ  مِنَّآ  إِنْ  هِىَ  إِلَّا  فِتْنَتُكَ  تُضِلُّ  بِهَا  مَن  تَشَآءُ  وَتَهْدِى  مَن  تَشَآءُ  أَنتَ  وَلِيُّنَا  فَٱغْفِرْ  لَنَا  وَٱرْحَمْنَا  وَأَنتَ  خَيْرُ  ٱلْغَٰفِرِينَ wa‑akhtāra mūsā qawmahu sabʿīna rajulan li‑mīqātinā fa‑lammā akhadhathumu l‑rajfatu qalā rabbi law shiʾta ahlaktahum min qablu wa‑iyyāya atuhlikunā bi‑mā faʿala l‑sufahāʾu minnā in hiya illā fitnatuka tuḍillu bihā man tashāʾu wa‑tahdī man tashāʾu anta waliyyunā fa‑ighfir la‑nā wa‑irḥamnā wa‑anta khayru l‑ghāfirīna
And Moses chose seventy of his people for Our place of meeting: when they were seized with violent quaking, he prayed: "O my Lord! if it had been Thy will Thou couldst have destroyed, long before, both them and me: wouldst Thou destroy us for the deeds of the foolish ones among us? this is no more than Thy trial: by it Thou causest whom Thou wilt to stray, and Thou leadest whom Thou wilt into the right path. Thou art our Protector: so forgive us and give us Thy mercy; for Thou art the best of those who forgive.
(7:161)

And remember it was said to them: "Dwell in this town and eat therein as ye wish, but say the word of humility and enter the gate in a posture of humility: We shall forgive you your faults; We shall increase (the portion of) those who do good."
(7:169)

فَخَلَفَ  مِنۢ  بَعْدِهِمْ  خَلْفٌ  وَرِثُوا۟  ٱلْكِتَٰبَ  يَأْخُذُونَ  عَرَضَ  هَٰذَا  ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ  وَيَقُولُونَ  سَيُغْفَرُ  لَنَا  وَإِن  يَأْتِهِمْ  عَرَضٌ  مِّثْلُهُۥ  يَأْخُذُوهُ  أَلَمْ  يُؤْخَذْ  عَلَيْهِم  مِّيثَٰقُ  ٱلْكِتَٰبِ  أَن  لَّا  يَقُولُوا۟  عَلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  إِلَّا  ٱلْحَقَّ  وَدَرَسُوا۟  مَا  فِيهِ  وَٱلدَّارُ  ٱلْأَخِرَةُ  خَيْرٌ  لِّلَّذِينَ  يَتَّقُونَ  أَفَلَا  تَعْقِلُونَ fa‑khalafa min baʿdihim khalfun warithū l‑kitāba yakhudhūna ʿaraḍa hādhā l‑adnā wa‑yaqūlūna sa‑yughfaru la‑nā wa‑in yaʾtihim ʿaraḍun mithluhu yakhudhūhu a‑lam yukhadh ʿalayhim mīthāqu l‑kitābi an yaqūlū ʿalā allāhi illā l‑ḥaqqa wa‑darasū fīhi wa‑l‑dāru l‑akhiratu khayrun li‑lladhīna yattaqūna a‑fa‑lā taʿqilūna
After them succeeded an (evil) generation: They inherited the Book, but they chose (for themselves) the vanities of this world, saying (for excuse): "(Everything) will be forgiven us." (Even so), if similar vanities came their way, they would (again) seize them. Was not the covenant of the Book taken from them, that they would not ascribe to Allah anything but the truth? and they study what is in the Book. But best for the righteous is the home in the Hereafter. Will ye not understand?

Surah 8 al-Anfāl (The Spoils of War)
(8:29)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوٓا۟  إِن  تَتَّقُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  يَجْعَل  لَّكُمْ  فُرْقَانًا  وَيُكَفِّرْ  عَنكُمْ  سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ  وَيَغْفِرْ  لَكُمْ  وَٱللَّـهُ  ذُو  ٱلْفَضْلِ  ٱلْعَظِيمِ yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū in tattaqū allāha yajʿal la‑kum furqānan wa‑yukaffir ʿankum sayyiʾātikum wa‑yaghfir la‑kum wallāhu dhū l‑faḍli l‑ʿaẓīmi
O ye who believe! if ye fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion (to judge between right and wrong), remove from you (all) evil (that may afflict) you, and forgive you: for Allah is the Lord of grace unbounded.
(8:33)

But Allah was not going to send them a penalty whilst thou wast amongst them; nor was He going to send it whilst they could ask for pardon.
(8:38)

قُل  لِّلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوٓا۟  إِن  يَنتَهُوا۟  يُغْفَرْ  لَهُم  مَّا  قَدْ  سَلَفَ  وَإِن  يَعُودُوا۟  فَقَدْ  مَضَتْ  سُنَّتُ  ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ qul li‑lladhīna kafarū in yantahū yughfar lahum qad salafa wa‑in yaʿūdū fa‑qad maḍat sunnatu l‑awwalīna
Say to the Unbelievers, if (now) they desist (from Unbelief), their past would be forgiven them; but if they persist, the punishment of those before them is already (a matter of warning for them).
(8:70)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلنَّبِىُّ  قُل  لِّمَن  فِىٓ  أَيْدِيكُم  مِّنَ  ٱلْأَسْرَىٰٓ  إِن  يَعْلَمِ  ٱللَّـهُ  فِى  قُلُوبِكُمْ  خَيْرًا  يُؤْتِكُمْ  خَيْرًا  مِّمَّآ  أُخِذَ  مِنكُمْ  وَيَغْفِرْ  لَكُمْ  وَٱللَّـهُ  غَفُورٌ  رَّحِيمٌ yā‑ayyuhā l‑nabiyyu qul lliman aydīkum mina al‑asra in yaʿlami allāhu qulūbikum khayran yuʾtikum khayran mimmā ukhidha minkum wa‑yaghfir la‑kum wallāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun
O Prophet! say to those who are captives in your hands: "If Allah findeth any good in your hearts, He will give you something better than what has been taken from you, and He will forgive you: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful."

Surah 9 al-Tawbah (Repentance)
(9:80)

ٱسْتَغْفِرْ  لَهُمْ  أَوْ  لَا  تَسْتَغْفِرْ  لَهُمْ  إِن  تَسْتَغْفِرْ  لَهُمْ  سَبْعِينَ  مَرَّةً  فَلَن  يَغْفِرَ  ٱللَّـهُ  لَهُمْ  ذَٰلِكَ  بِأَنَّهُمْ  كَفَرُوا۟  بِٱللَّـهِ  وَرَسُولِهِۦ  وَٱللَّـهُ  لَا  يَهْدِى  ٱلْقَوْمَ  ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ astaghfir lahum aw tastaghfir lahum in tastaghfir lahum sabʿīna marratan fa‑lan yaghfira allāhu lahum dhālika bi‑annahum kafarū billāhi wa‑rasūlihi wallāhu yahdī l‑qawma l‑fāsiqīna
Whether thou ask for their forgiveness, or not, (their sin is unforgivable): if thou ask seventy times for their forgiveness, Allah will not forgive them: because they have rejected Allah and His Messenger: and Allah guideth not those who are perversely rebellious.
(9:113)

مَا  كَانَ  لِلنَّبِىِّ  وَٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوٓا۟  أَن  يَسْتَغْفِرُوا۟  لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ  وَلَوْ  كَانُوٓا۟  أُو۟لِى  قُرْبَىٰ  مِنۢ  بَعْدِ  مَا  تَبَيَّنَ  لَهُمْ  أَنَّهُمْ  أَصْحَٰبُ  ٱلْجَحِيمِ kāna lil‑nabiyyi wa‑lladhīna āmanū an yastaghfirū lil‑mushrikīna wa‑law kānū ūlī qurba min baʿdi tabayyana lahum annahum aṣḥābu l‑jaḥīmi
It is not fitting, for the Prophet and those who believe, that they should pray for forgiveness for Pagans, even though they be of kin, after it is clear to them that they are companions of the Fire.

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:3)

وَأَنِ  ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟  رَبَّكُمْ  ثُمَّ  تُوبُوٓا۟  إِلَيْهِ  يُمَتِّعْكُم  مَّتَٰعًا  حَسَنًا  إِلَىٰٓ  أَجَلٍ  مُّسَمًّى  وَيُؤْتِ  كُلَّ  ذِى  فَضْلٍ  فَضْلَهُۥ  وَإِن  تَوَلَّوْا۟  فَإِنِّىٓ  أَخَافُ  عَلَيْكُمْ  عَذَابَ  يَوْمٍ  كَبِيرٍ wa‑ani istaghfirū rabbakum thumma tūbū ilayhi yumattiʿkum matāʿan ḥasanan ila ajalin musamman wa‑yuʾti kulla dhī faḍlin faḍlahu wa‑in tawallaw fa‑innī akhāfu ʿalaykum ʿadhāba yawmin kabīrin
"(And to preach thus), 'Seek ye the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance; that He may grant you enjoyment, good (and true), for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding grace on all who abound in merit! But if ye turn away, then I fear for you the penalty of a great day:
(11:47)

Noah said: "O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask Thee for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless thou forgive me and have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!"
(11:52)

وَيَٰقَوْمِ  ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟  رَبَّكُمْ  ثُمَّ  تُوبُوٓا۟  إِلَيْهِ  يُرْسِلِ  ٱلسَّمَآءَ  عَلَيْكُم  مِّدْرَارًا  وَيَزِدْكُمْ  قُوَّةً  إِلَىٰ  قُوَّتِكُمْ  وَلَا  تَتَوَلَّوْا۟  مُجْرِمِينَ wa‑yā‑qawmi istaghfirū rabbakum thumma tūbū ilayhi yursili l‑samāʾa ʿalaykum midrāran wa‑yazidkum quwwatan ilā quwwatikum wa‑lā tatawallaw mujrimīna

To the Thamud People (We sent) Salih, one of their own brethren. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah: ye have no other god but Him. It is He Who hath produced you from the earth and settled you therein: then ask forgiveness of Him, and turn to Him (in repentance): for my Lord is (always) near, ready to answer."
(11:90)

Ye wish to turn us away from the (gods) our fathers used to worship: then bring us some clear authority."
(14:41)

And what is there to keep back men from believing, now that Guidance has come to them, nor from praying for forgiveness from their Lord, but that (they ask that) the ways of the ancients be repeated with them, or the Wrath be brought to them face to face?

Surah 19 Maryam (Mary)
(19:47)
