Sura al-Baqara 2:76

وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ قَالُوٓا۟ أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لِيُحَآجُّوكُم بِهِۦ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

wa-idhā laqū lladhīna āmanū qālū āmannā wa-idhā khalā baʿḍuhum ilā baʿḍin qālū atuḥaddithūnahum bi-mā fataḥa allāhu ʿalaykum li-yuḥājjūkum bihi ʿinda rabbikum a-fa-lā taʿqilūna

Behold! when they meet the men of Faith, they say: "We believe": But when they meet each other in private, they say: "Shall you tell them what Allah hath revealed to you, that they may engage you in argument about it before your Lord?"- Do ye not understand (their aim)?

Sura al-Baqara 2:89

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ كِتَٰبٌ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّـهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم مَّا عَرَفُوا۟ كَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَلَعْنَةُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-lammā jāʾahum kitābun min ʿindi allāhi muṣaddiqun li-mā maʿahum wa-kānū min qablu yastaftiḥūna ʿalā lladhīna kafarū fa-lammā jāʾahum mā ʿarafū kafarū bihi falaʿnatu allāhi ʿalā l-kāfirīna

And when there comes to them a Book from Allah, confirming what is with them,- although from of old they had prayed for victory against those without Faith,- when there comes to them that which they (should) have recognised, they refuse to believe in it but the curse of Allah is on those without Faith.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:44

فَلَمَّا نَسُوا۟ مَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَبْوَٰبَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَرِحُوا۟ بِمَآ أُوتُوٓا۟ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بَغْتَةً فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْلِسُونَ

fa-lammā nasū mā dhukkirū bihi fataḥnā ʿalayhim abwāba kulli shayʾin ḥatta idhā fariḥū bimā ūtū akhadhnāhum baghtatan fa-idhā hum mublisūna

But when they forgot the warning they had received, We opened to them the gates of all (good) things, until, in the midst of their enjoyment of Our gifts, on a sudden, We called them to account, when lo! they were plunged in despair!

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:40

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَٰبُ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ ٱلْجَمَلُ فِى سَمِّ ٱلْخِيَاطِ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

inna lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-istakbarū ʿanhā lā tufattaḥu lahum abwābu l-samāʾi wa-lā yadkhulūna l-jannata ḥattā yalija l-jamalu fī sammi l-khiyāṭi wa-ka-dhālika najzī l-mujrimīna

To those who reject Our signs and treat them with arrogance, no opening will there be of the gates of heaven, nor will they enter the garden, until the camel can pass through the eye of the needle: Such is Our reward for those in sin.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:89

قَدِ ٱفْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِى مِلَّتِكُم بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّىٰنَا ٱللَّـهُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَكُونُ لَنَآ أَن نَّعُودَ فِيهَآ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ رَبُّنَا وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا رَبَّنَا ٱفْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَٰتِحِينَ

qadi iftaraynā ʿalā allāhi kadhiban in ʿudnā fī millatikum baʿda idh najjanā allāhu minhā wa-mā yakūnu lanā an naʿūda fīhā illā an yashāʾa allāhu rabbunā wasiʿa rabbunā kulla shayʾin ʿilman ʿalā allāhi tawakkalnā rabbanā iftaḥ baynanā wa-bayna qawminā bil-ḥaqqi wa-anta khayru l-fātiḥīna

"We should indeed invent a lie against Allah, if we returned to your ways after Allah hath rescued us therefrom; nor could we by any manner of means return thereto unless it be as in the will and plan of Allah, Our Lord. Our Lord can reach out to the utmost recesses of things by His knowledge. In the Allah is our trust. our Lord! decide Thou between us and our people in truth, for Thou art the best to decide."

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:96

وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبُوا۟ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

wa-law annā ahla al-qura āmanū wa-ittaqaw la-fataḥnā ʿalayhim barakātin mina l-samāʾi wa-l-arḍi wa-lākin kadhdhabū fa-akhadhnāhum bi-mā kānū yaksibūna

If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (All kinds of) blessings from heaven and earth; but they rejected (the truth), and We brought them to book for their misdeeds.

Sura al-Anfāl 8:19

إِن تَسْتَفْتِحُوا۟ فَقَدْ جَآءَكُمُ ٱلْفَتْحُ وَإِن تَنتَهُوا۟ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَإِن تَعُودُوا۟ نَعُدْ وَلَن تُغْنِىَ عَنكُمْ فِئَتُكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَوْ كَثُرَتْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ مَعَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

in tastaftiḥū fa-qad jāakumu l-fatḥu wa-in tantahū fa-huwa khayrun la-kum wa-in taʿūdū naʿud wa-lan tughniya ʿankum fiʾatukum shayʾan wa-law kathurat wa-anna allāha maʿa l-muʾminīna

(O Unbelievers!) if ye prayed for victory and judgment, now hath the judgment come to you: if ye desist (from wrong), it will be best for you: if ye return (to the attack), so shall We. Not the least good will your forces be to you even if they were multiplied: for verily Allah is with those who believe!

Sura Yūsuf 12:65

وَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا۟ مَتَٰعَهُمْ وَجَدُوا۟ بِضَٰعَتَهُمْ رُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا مَا نَبْغِى هَٰذِهِۦ بِضَٰعَتُنَا رُدَّتْ إِلَيْنَا وَنَمِيرُ أَهْلَنَا وَنَحْفَظُ أَخَانَا وَنَزْدَادُ كَيْلَ بَعِيرٍ ذَٰلِكَ كَيْلٌ يَسِيرٌ

wa-lammā fataḥū matāʿahum wajadū biḍāʿatahum ruddat ilayhim qālū yā-abānā mā nabghī hādhihi biḍāʿatunā ruddat ilaynā wa-namīru ahlanā wa-naḥfaẓu akhānā wa-nazdādu kayla baʿīrin dhālika kaylun yasīrun

Then when they opened their baggage, they found their stock-in-trade had been returned to them. They said: "O our father! What (more) can we desire? this our stock-in-trade has been returned to us: so we shall get (more) food for our family; We shall take care of our brother; and add (at the same time) a full camel's load (of grain to our provisions). This is but a small quantity.

Sura Ibrāhīm 14:15

وَٱسْتَفْتَحُوا۟ وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ

wa-istaftaḥū wa-khāba kullu jabbārin ʿanīdin

But they sought victory and decision (there and then), and frustration was the lot of every powerful obstinate transgressor.

Sura al-Ḥijr 15:14

وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ

wa-law fataḥnā ʿalayhim bāban mina l-samāʾi fa-ẓallū fīhi yaʿrujūna

Even if We opened out to them a gate from heaven, and they were to continue (all day) ascending therein,

Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:96

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍ يَنسِلُونَ

ḥatta idhā futiḥat yaʾjūju wa-maʾjūju wa-hum min kulli ḥadabin yansilūna

Until the Gog and Magog (people) are let through (their barrier), and they swiftly swarm from every hill.

Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:77

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ

ḥatta idhā fataḥnā ʿalayhim bāban dhā ʿadhābin shadīdin idhā hum fīhi mublisūna

Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein!

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:118

فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

fa-iftaḥ baynī wa-baynahum fatḥan wa-najjinī wa-man maʿiya mina l-muʾminīna

"Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me."

Sura Sabaʾ 34:26

قُلْ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا رَبُّنَا ثُمَّ يَفْتَحُ بَيْنَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُوَ ٱلْفَتَّاحُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

qul yajmaʿu baynanā rabbunā thumma yaftaḥu baynanā bil-ḥaqqi wa-huwa l-fattāḥu l-ʿalīmu

Say: "Our Lord will gather us together and will in the end decide the matter between us (and you) in truth and justice: and He is the one to decide, the One Who knows all."

Sura al-Faṭīr 35:2

مَّا يَفْتَحِ ٱللَّـهُ لِلنَّاسِ مِن رَّحْمَةٍ فَلَا مُمْسِكَ لَهَا وَمَا يُمْسِكْ فَلَا مُرْسِلَ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

mā yaftaḥi allāhu lil-nāsi min rraḥmatin fa-lā mumsika lahā wa-mā yumsik fa-lā mursila lahu min baʿdihi wa-huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu

What Allah out of his Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold, there is none can grant, apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

Sura al-Zumar 39:71

وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ زُمَرًا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا فُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكُمْ وَيُنذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَا قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَلَٰكِنْ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَةُ ٱلْعَذَابِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-sīqa lladhīna kafarū ilā jahannama zumaran ḥatta idhā jāʾūhā futiḥat abwābuhā wa-qāla lahum khazanatuhā a-lam yatikum rusulun minkum yatlūna ʿalaykum āyāti rabbikum wa-yundhirūnakum liqāʾa yawmikum hādhā qālū balā wa-lākin ḥaqqat kalimatu l-ʿadhābi ʿalā l-kāfirīna

The Unbelievers will be led to Hell in crowd: until, when they arrive, there, its gates will be opened. And its keepers will say, "Did not messengers come to you from among yourselves, rehearsing to you the Signs of your Lord, and warning you of the Meeting of This Day of yours?" The answer will be: "True: but the Decree of Punishment has been proved true against the Unbelievers!"

Sura al-Zumar 39:73

وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْجَنَّةِ زُمَرًا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا وَفُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ طِبْتُمْ فَٱدْخُلُوهَا خَٰلِدِينَ

wa-sīqa lladhīna ittaqaw rabbahum ilā l-jannati zumaran ḥatta idhā jāʾūhā wa-futiḥat abwābuhā wa-qāla lahum khazanatuhā salāmun ʿalaykum ṭibtum fadkhulūhā khālidīna

And those who feared their Lord will be led to the Garden in crowds: until behold, they arrive there; its gates will be opened; and its keepers will say: "Peace be upon you! well have ye done! enter ye here, to dwell therein."

Sura al-Fatḥ 48:1

إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُّبِينًا

innā fataḥnā la-ka fatḥan mubīnan

Verily We have granted thee a manifest Victory:

Sura al-Qamar 54:11

فَفَتَحْنَآ أَبْوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٍ مُّنْهَمِرٍ

fa-fataḥnā abwāba l-samāʾi bi-māʾin munhamirin

So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth.

Sura al-Nabaʾ 78:19

وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًا

wa-futiḥati l-samāʾu fa-kānat abwāban

And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors,
