(2:249) | فَلَمَّا فَصَلَ طَالُوتُ بِٱلْجُنُودِ قَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ مُبْتَلِيكُم بِنَهَرٍ فَمَن شَرِبَ مِنْهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّى وَمَن لَّمْ يَطْعَمْهُ فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّىٓ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةًۢ بِيَدِهِۦ فَشَرِبُوا۟ مِنْهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّنْهُمْ فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَهُۥ هُوَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ قَالُوا۟ لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا ٱلْيَوْمَ بِجَالُوتَ وَجُنُودِهِۦ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهِ كَم مِّن فِئَةٍ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتْ فِئَةً كَثِيرَةًۢ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱللَّـهُ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ | fa‑lammā faṣala ṭālūtu bil‑junūdi qalā inna allāha mubtalīkum binaharin fa‑man shariba minhu fa‑laysa minnī wa‑man lam yaṭʿamhu fa‑innahu minnī illā mani ightarafa ghurfatan bi‑yadihi fa‑sharibū minhu illā qalīlan minhum fa‑lammā jāwazahu huwa wa‑lladhīna āmanū maʿahu qālū lā ṭāqata la‑nā l‑yawma bi‑jālūta wa‑junūdihi qalā lladhīna yaẓunnūna annahum mulāqū allāhi kam min fiʾatin qalīlatin ghalabat fiatan kathīratan bi‑idhni allāhi wallāhu maʿa l‑ṣābirīna | When Talut set forth with the armies, he said: "Allah will test
you at the stream: if any drinks of its water, He goes not with my army:
Only those who taste not of it go with me: A mere sip out of the hand is
excused." but they all drank of it, except a few. When they crossed the
river,- He and the faithful ones with him,- they said: "This day We cannot
cope with Goliath and his forces." but those who were convinced that they
must meet Allah, said: "How oft, by Allah's will, Hath a small force vanquished
a big one? Allah is with those who steadfastly persevere."
Sura al-Baqara 2:249 فَلَمَّا فَصَلَ طَالُوتُ بِٱلْجُنُودِ قَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ مُبْتَلِيكُم بِنَهَرٍ فَمَن شَرِبَ مِنْهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّى وَمَن لَّمْ يَطْعَمْهُ فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّىٓ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةًۢ بِيَدِهِۦ فَشَرِبُوا۟ مِنْهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّنْهُمْ فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَهُۥ هُوَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ قَالُوا۟ لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا ٱلْيَوْمَ بِجَالُوتَ وَجُنُودِهِۦ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهِ كَم مِّن فِئَةٍ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتْ فِئَةً كَثِيرَةًۢ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱللَّـهُ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ fa-lammā faṣala ṭālūtu bil-junūdi qalā inna allāha mubtalīkum binaharin fa-man shariba minhu fa-laysa minnī wa-man lam yaṭʿamhu fa-innahu minnī illā mani ightarafa ghurfatan bi-yadihi fa-sharibū minhu illā qalīlan minhum fa-lammā jāwazahu huwa wa-lladhīna āmanū maʿahu qālū lā ṭāqata la-nā l-yawma bi-jālūta wa-junūdihi qalā lladhīna yaẓunnūna annahum mulāqū allāhi kam min fiʾatin qalīlatin ghalabat fiatan kathīratan bi-idhni allāhi wallāhu maʿa l-ṣābirīna When Talut set forth with the armies, he said: "Allah will test you at the stream: if any drinks of its water, He goes not with my army: Only those who taste not of it go with me: A mere sip out of the hand is excused." but they all drank of it, except a few. (6:119) | وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تَأْكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ ٱسْمُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُم مَّا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا مَا ٱضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا لَّيُضِلُّونَ بِأَهْوَآئِهِم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ | wa‑mā la‑kum allā taʾkulū mimmā dhukira smu allāhi ʿalayhi wa‑qad faṣṣala la‑kum mā ḥarrama ʿalaykum illā mā aḍṭurirtum ilayhi wa‑inna kathīran la‑yuḍillūna bi‑ahwāʾihim bi‑ghayri ʿilmin inna rabbaka huwa aʿlamu bil‑muʿtadīna | Why should ye not eat of (meats) on which Allah's name hath been
pronounced, when He hath explained to you in detail what is forbidden to
you - except under compulsion of necessity? But many do mislead (men) by
their appetites unchecked by knowledge. Thy Lord knoweth best those who
transgress.
Sura al-Anʿām 6:119 وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تَأْكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ ٱسْمُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُم مَّا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا مَا ٱضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا لَّيُضِلُّونَ بِأَهْوَآئِهِم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ wa-mā la-kum allā taʾkulū mimmā dhukira smu allāhi ʿalayhi wa-qad faṣṣala la-kum mā ḥarrama ʿalaykum illā mā aḍṭurirtum ilayhi wa-inna kathīran la-yuḍillūna bi-ahwāʾihim bi-ghayri ʿilmin inna rabbaka huwa aʿlamu bil-muʿtadīna Why should ye not eat of (meats) on which Allah's name hath been pronounced, when He hath explained to you in detail what is forbidden to you - except under compulsion of necessity? (10:5) | هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ ضِيَآءً وَٱلْقَمَرَ نُورًا وَقَدَّرَهُۥ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعْلَمُوا۟ عَدَدَ ٱلسِّنِينَ وَٱلْحِسَابَ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّـهُ ذَٰلِكَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ | huwa alladhī jaʿala l‑shamsa ḍiyāʾan wa‑l‑qamara nūran wa‑qaddarahu manāzila li‑taʿlamū ʿadada l‑sinīna wa‑l‑ḥisāba mā khalaqa allāhu dhālika illā bil‑ḥaqqi yufaṣṣilu l‑ayāti li‑qawmin yaʿlamūna | It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon
to be a light (of beauty), and measured out stages for her; that ye might
know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did Allah create
this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in
detail, for those who understand.
Sura Yūnus 10:5 هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ ضِيَآءً وَٱلْقَمَرَ نُورًا وَقَدَّرَهُۥ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعْلَمُوا۟ عَدَدَ ٱلسِّنِينَ وَٱلْحِسَابَ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّـهُ ذَٰلِكَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ huwa alladhī jaʿala l-shamsa ḍiyāʾan wa-l-qamara nūran wa-qaddarahu manāzila li-taʿlamū ʿadada l-sinīna wa-l-ḥisāba mā khalaqa allāhu dhālika illā bil-ḥaqqi yufaṣṣilu l-ayāti li-qawmin yaʿlamūna It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty), and measured out stages for her; that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). (11:1) | الٓر كِتَٰبٌ أُحْكِمَتْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ | alif‑lām‑rāʾ kitābun uḥkimat āyātuhu thumma fuṣṣilat min lladun ḥakīmin khabīrin | A. L. R. (This is) a Book, with verses basic or fundamental
(of established meaning), further explained in detail,- from One Who is
Wise and Well-acquainted (with all things):
Sura Hūd 11:1 الٓر كِتَٰبٌ أُحْكِمَتْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ alif-lām-rāʾ kitābun uḥkimat āyātuhu thumma fuṣṣilat min lladun ḥakīmin khabīrin A. L. R. (This is) a Book, with verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning), further explained in detail,- from One Who is Wise and Well-acquainted (with all things): |
(12:94) | وَلَمَّا فَصَلَتِ ٱلْعِيرُ قَالَ أَبُوهُمْ إِنِّى لَأَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَ لَوْلَآ أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ | wa‑lammā faṣalati l‑ʿīru qalā abūhum innī la‑ajidu rīḥa yūsufa lawlā an tufannidūni | When the caravan left (Egypt), their father said: "I do indeed
scent the presence of Joseph: Nay, think me not a dotard."
Sura Yūsuf 12:94 وَلَمَّا فَصَلَتِ ٱلْعِيرُ قَالَ أَبُوهُمْ إِنِّى لَأَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَ لَوْلَآ أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ wa-lammā faṣalati l-ʿīru qalā abūhum innī la-ajidu rīḥa yūsufa lawlā an tufannidūni When the caravan left (Egypt), their father said: "I do indeed scent the presence of Joseph: Nay, think me not a dotard." |
(13:2) | ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِى رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِى لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى يُدَبِّرُ ٱلْأَمْرَ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّكُمْ تُوقِنُونَ | allāhu alladhī rafaʿa l‑samāwāti bi‑ghayri ʿamadin tarawnahā thumma istawā ʿalā l‑ʿarshi wa‑sakhkhara l‑shamsa wa‑l‑qamara kullun yajrī li‑ajalin musamman yudabbiru l‑amra yufaṣṣilu l‑ayāti laʿallakum bi‑liqāʾi rabbikum tūqinūna | Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye
can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority); He has
subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law)! Each one runs (its course) for
a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the signs in
detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.
Sura al-Raʿd 13:2 ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِى رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِى لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى يُدَبِّرُ ٱلْأَمْرَ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّكُمْ تُوقِنُونَ allāhu alladhī rafaʿa l-samāwāti bi-ghayri ʿamadin tarawnahā thumma istawā ʿalā l-ʿarshi wa-sakhkhara l-shamsa wa-l-qamara kullun yajrī li-ajalin musamman yudabbiru l-amra yufaṣṣilu l-ayāti laʿallakum bi-liqāʾi rabbikum tūqinūna Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord. |
(22:17) | إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِـِٔينَ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ وَٱلْمَجُوسَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ | inna lladhīna āmanū wa‑lladhīna hādū wa‑l‑ṣābiʾīna wa‑l‑naṣārā wa‑l‑majūsa wa‑lladhīna ashrakū inna allāha yafṣilu baynahum yawma l‑qiyāmati inna allāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin shahīdun | Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish
(scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- Allah
will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for Allah is witness of all
things.
Sura al-Ḥajj 22:17 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِـِٔينَ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ وَٱلْمَجُوسَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ inna lladhīna āmanū wa-lladhīna hādū wa-l-ṣābiʾīna wa-l-naṣārā wa-l-majūsa wa-lladhīna ashrakū inna allāha yafṣilu baynahum yawma l-qiyāmati inna allāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin shahīdun Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for Allah is witness of all things. |
(32:25) | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ | inna rabbaka huwa yafṣilu baynahum yawma l‑qiyāmati fī‑mā kānū fīhi yakhtalifūna | Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of
Judgment, in the matters wherein they differ (among themselves)
Sura al-Sajdah 32:25 إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ inna rabbaka huwa yafṣilu baynahum yawma l-qiyāmati fī-mā kānū fīhi yakhtalifūna Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment, in the matters wherein they differ (among themselves) |
(41:3) | كِتَٰبٌ فُصِّلَتْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ قُرْءَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ | kitābun fuṣṣilat āyātuhu qurʾānan ʿarabiyyan li‑qawmin yaʿlamūna | A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an
in Arabic, for people who understand;-
Sura Fuṣṣilat 41:3 كِتَٰبٌ فُصِّلَتْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ قُرْءَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ kitābun fuṣṣilat āyātuhu qurʾānan ʿarabiyyan li-qawmin yaʿlamūna A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand;- |
(41:44) | وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَانًا أَعْجَمِيًّا لَّقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا فُصِّلَتْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥٓ ءَا۬عْجَمِىٌّ وَعَرَبِىٌّ قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ هُدًى وَشِفَآءٌ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٌ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمًى أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍ | wa‑law jaʿalnāhu qurʾānan aʿjamiyyan llaqālū lawlā fuṣṣilat āyātuhu aʿjamiyyun wa‑ʿarabiyyun qul huwa li‑lladhīna āmanū hudan wa‑shifāʾun wa‑lladhīna lā yuʾminūna fī ādhānihim waqrun wa‑huwa ʿalayhim ʿaman ulāʾika yunādawna min makānin baʿīdin | Had We sent this as a Qur'an (in the language) other than
Arabic, they would have said: "Why are not its verses explained in detail?
What! (a Book) not in Arabic and (a Messenger an Arab?" Say: "It is a Guide
and a Healing to those who believe; and for those who believe not, there is
a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in their (eyes): They are (as
it were) being called from a place far distant!"
Sura Fuṣṣilat 41:44 وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَانًا أَعْجَمِيًّا لَّقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا فُصِّلَتْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥٓ ءَا۬عْجَمِىٌّ وَعَرَبِىٌّ قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ هُدًى وَشِفَآءٌ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٌ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمًى أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍ wa-law jaʿalnāhu qurʾānan aʿjamiyyan llaqālū lawlā fuṣṣilat āyātuhu aʿjamiyyun wa-ʿarabiyyun qul huwa li-lladhīna āmanū hudan wa-shifāʾun wa-lladhīna lā yuʾminūna fī ādhānihim waqrun wa-huwa ʿalayhim ʿaman ulāʾika yunādawna min makānin baʿīdin Had We sent this as a Qur'an (in the language) other than Arabic, they would have said: "Why are not its verses explained in detail? What! (a Book) not in Arabic and (a Messenger an Arab?" Say: "It is a Guide and a Healing to those who believe; and for those who believe not, there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in their (eyes): They are (as it were) being called from a place far distant!" |
(60:3) | لَن تَنفَعَكُمْ أَرْحَامُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَكُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ | lan tanfaʿakum arḥāmukum wa‑lā awlādukum yawma l‑qiyāmati yafṣilu baynakum wallāhu bi‑mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun | Of no profit to you will be your relatives and your children
on the Day of Judgment: He will judge between you: for Allah sees well all
that ye do.
Sura al-Mumtaḥanah 60:3 لَن تَنفَعَكُمْ أَرْحَامُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَكُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ lan tanfaʿakum arḥāmukum wa-lā awlādukum yawma l-qiyāmati yafṣilu baynakum wallāhu bi-mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun Of no profit to you will be your relatives and your children on the Day of Judgment: He will judge between you: for Allah sees well all that ye do. |
