Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)

(2:95)

وَلَن  يَتَمَنَّوْهُ  أَبَدًۢا  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  وَٱللَّـهُ  عَلِيمٌۢ  بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ wa‑lan yatamannawhu abadan bi‑mā qaddamat aydīhim wallāhu ʿalīmun bil‑ẓālimīna
But they will never seek for death, on account of the (sins) which their hands have sent on before them. and Allah is well-acquainted with the wrong-doers.

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:182)

ذَٰلِكَ  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  أَيْدِيكُمْ  وَأَنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَيْسَ  بِظَلَّامٍ  لِّلْعَبِيدِ dhālika bi‑mā qaddamat aydīkum wa‑anna allāha laysa bi‑ẓallāmin lil‑ʿabīdi
"This is because of the (unrighteous deeds) which your hands sent on before ye: For Allah never harms those who serve Him."

Surah 4 al-Nisāʾ (The Women)
(4:62)

فَكَيْفَ  إِذَآ  أَصَٰبَتْهُم  مُّصِيبَةٌۢ  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  ثُمَّ  جَآءُوكَ  يَحْلِفُونَ  بِٱللَّـهِ  إِنْ  أَرَدْنَآ  إِلَّآ  إِحْسَٰنًا  وَتَوْفِيقًا fa‑kayfa idhā aṣābathum muṣībatun bi‑mā qaddamat aydīhim thumma jāʾūka yaḥlifūna billāhi in aradnā illā iḥsānan wa‑tawfīqan
How then, when they are seized by misfortune, because of the deeds which they hands have sent forth? Then their come to thee, swearing by Allah: "We meant no more than good-will and conciliation!"

Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)
(5:80)

تَرَىٰ  كَثِيرًا  مِّنْهُمْ  يَتَوَلَّوْنَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  لَبِئْسَ  مَا  قَدَّمَتْ  لَهُمْ  أَنفُسُهُمْ  أَن  سَخِطَ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَيْهِمْ  وَفِى  ٱلْعَذَابِ  هُمْ  خَٰلِدُونَ tara kathīran minhum yatawallawna lladhīna kafarū la‑biʾsa qaddamat lahum anfusuhum an sakhiṭa allāhu ʿalayhim wa‑fī l‑ʿadhābi hum khālidūna
Thou seest many of them turning in friendship to the Unbelievers. Evil indeed are (the works) which their souls have sent forward before them (with the result), that Allah's wrath is on them, and in torment will they abide.

Surah 8 al-Anfāl (The Spoils of War)
(8:51)

ذَٰلِكَ  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  أَيْدِيكُمْ  وَأَنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَيْسَ  بِظَلَّٰمٍ  لِّلْعَبِيدِ dhālika bi‑mā qaddamat aydīkum wa‑anna allāha laysa bi‑ẓallāmin lil‑ʿabīdi
"Because of (the deeds) which your (own) hands sent forth; for Allah is never unjust to His servants:

Surah 18 al-Kahf (The Cave)
(18:57)

وَمَنْ  أَظْلَمُ  مِمَّن  ذُكِّرَ  بِـَٔايَٰتِ  رَبِّهِۦ  فَأَعْرَضَ  عَنْهَا  وَنَسِىَ  مَا  قَدَّمَتْ  يَدَاهُ  إِنَّا  جَعَلْنَا  عَلَىٰ  قُلُوبِهِمْ  أَكِنَّةً  أَن  يَفْقَهُوهُ  وَفِىٓ  ءَاذَانِهِمْ  وَقْرًا  وَإِن  تَدْعُهُمْ  إِلَى  ٱلْهُدَىٰ  فَلَن  يَهْتَدُوٓا۟  إِذًا  أَبَدًا wa‑man aẓlamu mimman dhukkira bi‑āyāti rabbihi fa‑aʿraḍa ʿanhā wa‑nasiya qaddamat yadāhu innā jaʿalnā ʿalā qulūbihim akinnatan an yafqahūhu wa‑fī ādhānihim waqran wa‑in tadʿuhum ilā l‑hudā fa‑lan yahtadū idhan abadan
And who doth more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, forgetting the (deeds) which his hands have sent forth? Verily We have set veils over their hearts lest they should understand this, and over their ears, deafness, if thou callest them to guidance, even then will they never accept guidance.

Surah 22 al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
(22:10)

ذَٰلِكَ  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  يَدَاكَ  وَأَنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَيْسَ  بِظَلَّٰمٍ  لِّلْعَبِيدِ dhālika bi‑mā qaddamat yadāka wa‑anna allāha laysa bi‑ẓallāmin lil‑ʿabīdi
(It will be said): "This is because of the deeds which thy hands sent forth, for verily Allah is not unjust to His servants.

Surah 28 al-Qaṣaṣ (The Narrative)
(28:47)

وَلَوْلَآ  أَن  تُصِيبَهُم  مُّصِيبَةٌۢ  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  فَيَقُولُوا۟  رَبَّنَا  لَوْلَآ  أَرْسَلْتَ  إِلَيْنَا  رَسُولًا  فَنَتَّبِعَ  ءَايَٰتِكَ  وَنَكُونَ  مِنَ  ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ wa‑lawlā an tuṣībahum muṣībatun bi‑mā qaddamat aydīhim fa‑yaqūlu rabbanā lawlā arsalta ilaynā rasūlan fa‑nattabiʿa āyātika wa‑nakūna mina l‑muʾminīna
If (We had) not (sent thee to the Quraish),- in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they might say: "Our Lord! why didst Thou not sent us a messenger? We should then have followed Thy Signs and been amongst those who believe!"

Surah 30 al-Rūm (The Romans)
(30:36)

وَإِذَآ  أَذَقْنَا  ٱلنَّاسَ  رَحْمَةً  فَرِحُوا۟  بِهَا  وَإِن  تُصِبْهُمْ  سَيِّئَةٌۢ  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  إِذَا  هُمْ  يَقْنَطُونَ wa‑idhā adhaqnā l‑nāsa raḥmatan fariḥū bihā wa‑in tuṣibhum sayyiatun bi‑mā qaddamat aydīhim idhā hum yaqnaṭūna
When We give men a taste of Mercy, they exult thereat: and when some evil afflicts them because of what their (own) hands have sent forth, behold, they are in despair!

Surah 42 al-Shūrā (The Counsel)
(42:48)

فَإِنْ  أَعْرَضُوا۟  فَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ  عَلَيْهِمْ  حَفِيظًا  إِنْ  عَلَيْكَ  إِلَّا  ٱلْبَلَٰغُ  وَإِنَّآ  إِذَآ  أَذَقْنَا  ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ  مِنَّا  رَحْمَةً  فَرِحَ  بِهَا  وَإِن  تُصِبْهُمْ  سَيِّئَةٌۢ  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  فَإِنَّ  ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ  كَفُورٌ fa‑in aʿraḍū fa‑mā arsalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan in ʿalayka illā l‑balāghu wa‑innā idhā adhaqnā l‑insāna minnā raḥmatan fariḥa bihā wa‑in tuṣibhum sayyiatun bi‑mā qaddamat aydīhim fa‑inna l‑insāna kafūrun
If then they run away, We have not sent thee as a guard over them. Thy duty is but to convey (the Message). And truly, when We give man a taste of a Mercy from Ourselves, he doth exult thereat, but when some ill happens to him, on account of the deeds which his hands have sent forth, truly then is man ungrateful!

Surah 59 al-Ḥashr (The Exile)
(59:18)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوا۟  ٱتَّقُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  وَلْتَنظُرْ  نَفْسٌ  مَّا  قَدَّمَتْ  لِغَدٍ  وَٱتَّقُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  خَبِيرٌۢ  بِمَا  تَعْمَلُونَ yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ittaqū allāha waltanẓur nafsun qaddamat lighadin wa‑ittaqū allāha inna allāha khabīrun bi‑mā taʿmalūna
O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and let every soul look to what (provision) He has sent forth for the morrow. Yea, fear Allah: for Allah is well-acquainted with (all) that ye do.

Surah 62 al-Jumuʿah (The Day of Congregation)
(62:7)

وَلَا  يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُۥٓ  أَبَدًۢا  بِمَا  قَدَّمَتْ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  وَٱللَّـهُ  عَلِيمٌۢ  بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ wa‑lā yatamannawnahu abadan bi‑mā qaddamat aydīhim wallāhu ʿalīmun bil‑ẓālimīna
But never will they express their desire (for Death), because of the (deeds) their hands have sent on before them! and Allah knows well those that do wrong!

Surah 78 al-Nabaʾ (The Tidings)
(78:40)

إِنَّآ  أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ  عَذَابًا  قَرِيبًا  يَوْمَ  يَنظُرُ  ٱلْمَرْءُ  مَا  قَدَّمَتْ  يَدَاهُ  وَيَقُولُ  ٱلْكَافِرُ  يَٰلَيْتَنِى  كُنتُ  تُرَٰبًۢا innā andharnākum ʿadhāban qarīban yawma yanẓuru l‑marʾu qaddamat yadāhu wa‑yaqūlu l‑kāfiru yā‑laytanī kuntu turāban
Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!"

Surah 82 al-Infiṭār (The Cleaving Asunder)
(82:5)

عَلِمَتْ  نَفْسٌ  مَّا  قَدَّمَتْ  وَأَخَّرَتْ ʿalimat nafsun qaddamat wa‑akhkharat
(Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back.
