(2:84) | وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَكُمْ لَا تَسْفِكُونَ دِمَآءَكُمْ وَلَا تُخْرِجُونَ أَنفُسَكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ | wa‑idh akhadhnā mīthāqakum lā tasfikūna dimāʾakum wa‑lā tukhrijūna anfusakum min diyārikum thumma aqrartum wa‑antum tashhadūna | And remember We took your covenant (to this effect): Shed no
blood amongst you, nor turn out your own people from your homes: and this
ye solemnly ratified, and to this ye can bear witness.

(3:81) | وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّـهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ لَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَٰبٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِۦ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥ قَالَ ءَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِى قَالُوٓا۟ أَقْرَرْنَا قَالَ فَٱشْهَدُوا۟ وَأَنَا۠ مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ | wa‑idh akhadha allāhu mīthāqa l‑nabiyyina la‑mā ātaytukum min kitābin wa‑ḥikmatin thumma jāʾakum rasūlun muṣaddiqun li‑mā maʿakum la‑tuʾminunna bihi wa‑la‑tanṣurunnahu qalā a‑aqrartum wa‑akhadhtum ʿalā dhālikum iṣrī qālū aqrarnā qalā fa‑ishhadū wa‑anā maʿakum mina l‑shāhidīna | Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give
you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is
with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye
agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree."
He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:81 وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّـهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ لَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَٰبٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِۦ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥ قَالَ ءَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِى قَالُوٓا۟ أَقْرَرْنَا قَالَ فَٱشْهَدُوا۟ وَأَنَا۠ مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ wa-idh akhadha allāhu mīthāqa l-nabiyyina la-mā ātaytukum min kitābin wa-ḥikmatin thumma jāʾakum rasūlun muṣaddiqun li-mā maʿakum la-tuʾminunna bihi wa-la-tanṣurunnahu qalā a-aqrartum wa-akhadhtum ʿalā dhālikum iṣrī qālū aqrarnā qalā fa-ishhadū wa-anā maʿakum mina l-shāhidīna Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses." |
(7:143) | وَلَمَّا جَآءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَٰتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِىٓ أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ لَن تَرَىٰنِى وَلَٰكِنِ ٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُۥ فَسَوْفَ تَرَىٰنِى فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُۥ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُۥ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا فَلَمَّآ أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ | wa‑lammā jāa mūsā limīqātinā wa‑kallamahu rabbuhu qalā rabbi arinī anẓur ilayka qalā lan taranī wa‑lākini inẓur ilā l‑jabali fa‑ini staqarra makānahu fa‑sawfa taranī fa‑lammā tajallā rabbuhu lil‑jabali jaʿalahu dakkan wa‑kharra mūsā ṣaʿiqan fa‑lammā afāqa qalā subḥānaka tubtu ilayka wa‑anā awwalu l‑muʾminīna | When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord
addressed him, He said: "O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look
upon thee." Allah said: "By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look
upon the mount; if it abide in its place, then shalt thou see Me." When his
Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell
down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to Thee!
to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe."
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:143 وَلَمَّا جَآءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَٰتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِىٓ أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ لَن تَرَىٰنِى وَلَٰكِنِ ٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُۥ فَسَوْفَ تَرَىٰنِى فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُۥ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُۥ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا فَلَمَّآ أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ wa-lammā jāa mūsā limīqātinā wa-kallamahu rabbuhu qalā rabbi arinī anẓur ilayka qalā lan taranī wa-lākini inẓur ilā l-jabali fa-ini staqarra makānahu fa-sawfa taranī fa-lammā tajallā rabbuhu lil-jabali jaʿalahu dakkan wa-kharra mūsā ṣaʿiqan fa-lammā afāqa qalā subḥānaka tubtu ilayka wa-anā awwalu l-muʾminīna When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: "O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee." (19:26) | فَكُلِى وَٱشْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنًا فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّا | fa‑kulī wa‑ishrabī wa‑qarrī ʿaynan fa‑immā tarayinna mina l‑bashari aḥadan fa‑qūlī innī nadhartu lil‑raḥmāni ṣawman falan ukallima l‑yawma insiyyan | "So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see
any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day
will I enter into not talk with any human being'"
Sura Maryam 19:26 فَكُلِى وَٱشْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنًا فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّا fa-kulī wa-ishrabī wa-qarrī ʿaynan fa-immā tarayinna mina l-bashari aḥadan fa-qūlī innī nadhartu lil-raḥmāni ṣawman falan ukallima l-yawma insiyyan "So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into not talk with any human being'" |
(20:40) | إِذْ تَمْشِىٓ أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن يَكْفُلُهُۥ فَرَجَعْنَٰكَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّكَ كَىْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا فَنَجَّيْنَٰكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّٰكَ فُتُونًا فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِىٓ أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرٍ يَٰمُوسَىٰ | idh tamshī ukhtuka fa‑taqūlu hal adullukum ʿalā man yakfuluhu farajaʿnāka ila ummika kay taqarra ʿaynuhā wa‑lā taḥzana wa‑qatalta nafsan fa‑najjaynāka mina l‑ghammi wa‑fatannāka futūnan fa‑labithta sinīna fī ahli madyana thumma jiʾta ʿalā qadarin yā‑mūsā | "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you
one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy
mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou
didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in
various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of
Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses!
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:40 إِذْ تَمْشِىٓ أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن يَكْفُلُهُۥ فَرَجَعْنَٰكَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّكَ كَىْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا فَنَجَّيْنَٰكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّٰكَ فُتُونًا فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِىٓ أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرٍ يَٰمُوسَىٰ idh tamshī ukhtuka fa-taqūlu hal adullukum ʿalā man yakfuluhu farajaʿnāka ila ummika kay taqarra ʿaynuhā wa-lā taḥzana wa-qatalta nafsan fa-najjaynāka mina l-ghammi wa-fatannāka futūnan fa-labithta sinīna fī ahli madyana thumma jiʾta ʿalā qadarin yā-mūsā "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' (22:5) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِى رَيْبٍ مِّنَ ٱلْبَعْثِ فَإِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ مِن مُّضْغَةٍ مُّخَلَّقَةٍ وَغَيْرِ مُخَلَّقَةٍ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ وَنُقِرُّ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ مَا نَشَآءُ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟ أَشُدَّكُمْ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ ٱلْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْـًٔا وَتَرَى ٱلْأَرْضَ هَامِدَةً فَإِذَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا ٱلْمَآءَ ٱهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ وَأَنۢبَتَتْ مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ | yā‑ayyuhā l‑nāsu in kuntum fī raybin mina l‑baʿthi fa‑innā khalaqnākum min turābin thumma min nuṭfatin thumma min ʿalaqatin thumma min muḍghatin mukhallaqatin wa‑ghayri mukhallaqatin li‑nubayyina la‑kum wa‑nuqirru fī l‑arḥāmi mā nashāʾu ila ajalin musamman thumma nukhrijukum ṭiflan thumma li‑tablughū ashuddakum wa‑minkum man yutawaffā wa‑minkum man yuraddu ila ardhali l‑ʿumuri li‑kaylā yaʿlama min baʿdi ʿilmin shayʾan wa‑tara l‑arḍa hāmidatan fa‑idhā anzalnā ʿalayhā l‑māa ihtazzat wa‑rabat wa‑anbatat min kulli zawjin bahījin | O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection,
(consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of
a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly
unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause
whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring
you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full
strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the
feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much), and
(further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down
rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every
kind of beautiful growth (in pairs).
Sura al-Ḥajj 22:5 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِى رَيْبٍ مِّنَ ٱلْبَعْثِ فَإِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ مِن مُّضْغَةٍ مُّخَلَّقَةٍ وَغَيْرِ مُخَلَّقَةٍ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ وَنُقِرُّ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ مَا نَشَآءُ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟ أَشُدَّكُمْ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ ٱلْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْـًٔا وَتَرَى ٱلْأَرْضَ هَامِدَةً فَإِذَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا ٱلْمَآءَ ٱهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ وَأَنۢبَتَتْ مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ yā-ayyuhā l-nāsu in kuntum fī raybin mina l-baʿthi fa-innā khalaqnākum min turābin thumma min nuṭfatin thumma min ʿalaqatin thumma min muḍghatin mukhallaqatin wa-ghayri mukhallaqatin li-nubayyina la-kum wa-nuqirru fī l-arḥāmi mā nashāʾu ila ajalin musamman thumma nukhrijukum ṭiflan thumma li-tablughū ashuddakum wa-minkum man yutawaffā wa-minkum man yuraddu ila ardhali l-ʿumuri li-kaylā yaʿlama min baʿdi ʿilmin shayʾan wa-tara l-arḍa hāmidatan fa-idhā anzalnā ʿalayhā l-māa ihtazzat wa-rabat wa-anbatat min kulli zawjin bahījin O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much), and (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs). |
(28:13) | فَرَدَدْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّهِۦ كَىْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَلِتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّـهِ حَقٌّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ | fa‑radadnāhu ila ummihi kay taqarra ʿaynuhā wa‑lā taḥzana wa‑litaʿlama annā waʿda allāhi ḥaqqun wa‑lākinna aktharahum lā yaʿlamūna | Thus did We restore him to his mother, that her eye might be
comforted, that she might not grieve, and that she might know that the
promise of Allah is true: but most of them do not understand.
Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:13 فَرَدَدْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّهِۦ كَىْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَلِتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّـهِ حَقٌّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ fa-radadnāhu ila ummihi kay taqarra ʿaynuhā wa-lā taḥzana wa-litaʿlama annā waʿda allāhi ḥaqqun wa-lākinna aktharahum lā yaʿlamūna Thus did We restore him to his mother, that her eye might be comforted, that she might not grieve, and that she might know that the promise of Allah is true: but most of them do not understand. |
(33:33) | وَقَرْنَ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَأَقِمْنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِينَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِعْنَ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ ٱلرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا | wa‑qarna fī buyūtikunna wa‑lā tabarrajna tabarruja l‑jāhiliyyati l‑ūlā wa‑aqimna l‑ṣalāta wa‑ātīna l‑zakāta wa‑aṭiʿna allāha wa‑rasūlahu innamā yurīdu allāhu li‑yudhhiba ʿankumu l‑rijsa ahla l‑bayti wa‑yuṭahhirakum taṭhīran | And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling
display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance; and establish regular
Prayer, and give regular Charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah
only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye members of the Family,
and to make you pure and spotless.
Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:33 وَقَرْنَ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَأَقِمْنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِينَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِعْنَ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ ٱلرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا wa-qarna fī buyūtikunna wa-lā tabarrajna tabarruja l-jāhiliyyati l-ūlā wa-aqimna l-ṣalāta wa-ātīna l-zakāta wa-aṭiʿna allāha wa-rasūlahu innamā yurīdu allāhu li-yudhhiba ʿankumu l-rijsa ahla l-bayti wa-yuṭahhirakum taṭhīran And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance; and establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. (33:51) | تُرْجِى مَن تَشَآءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُـْٔوِىٓ إِلَيْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَيْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكَ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن تَقَرَّ أَعْيُنُهُنَّ وَلَا يَحْزَنَّ وَيَرْضَيْنَ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْتَهُنَّ كُلُّهُنَّ وَٱللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَانَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمًا حَلِيمًا | turjī man tashāʾu minhunna wa‑tuʾwī ilayka man tashāʾu wa‑mani ibtaghayta mimman ʿazalta fa‑lā junāḥa ʿalayka dhālika adnā an taqarra aʿyunuhunna wa‑lā yaḥzanna wa‑yarḍayna bimā ātaytahunna kulluhunna wallāhu yaʿlamu mā fī qulūbikum wa‑kāna allāhu ʿalīman ḥalīman | Thou mayest defer (the turn of) any of them that thou
pleasest, and thou mayest receive any thou pleasest: and there is no blame
on thee if thou invite one whose (turn) thou hadst set aside. This were
nigher to the cooling of their eyes, the prevention of their grief, and
their satisfaction - that of all of them - with that which thou hast to
give them: and Allah knows (all) that is in your hearts: and Allah is
All-Knowing, Most Forbearing.
Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:51 تُرْجِى مَن تَشَآءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُـْٔوِىٓ إِلَيْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَيْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكَ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن تَقَرَّ أَعْيُنُهُنَّ وَلَا يَحْزَنَّ وَيَرْضَيْنَ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْتَهُنَّ كُلُّهُنَّ وَٱللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَانَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمًا حَلِيمًا turjī man tashāʾu minhunna wa-tuʾwī ilayka man tashāʾu wa-mani ibtaghayta mimman ʿazalta fa-lā junāḥa ʿalayka dhālika adnā an taqarra aʿyunuhunna wa-lā yaḥzanna wa-yarḍayna bimā ātaytahunna kulluhunna wallāhu yaʿlamu mā fī qulūbikum wa-kāna allāhu ʿalīman ḥalīman Thou mayest defer (the turn of) any of them that thou pleasest, and thou mayest receive any thou pleasest: and there is no blame on thee if thou invite one whose (turn) thou hadst set aside. This were nigher to the cooling of their eyes, the prevention of their grief, and their satisfaction - that of all of them - with that which thou hast to give them: and Allah knows (all) that is in your hearts: and Allah is All-Knowing, Most Forbearing. |
