Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:143)

وَكَذَٰلِكَ  جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ  أُمَّةً  وَسَطًا  لِّتَكُونُوا۟  شُهَدَآءَ  عَلَى  ٱلنَّاسِ  وَيَكُونَ  ٱلرَّسُولُ  عَلَيْكُمْ  شَهِيدًا  وَمَا  جَعَلْنَا  ٱلْقِبْلَةَ  ٱلَّتِى  كُنتَ  عَلَيْهَآ  إِلَّا  لِنَعْلَمَ  مَن  يَتَّبِعُ  ٱلرَّسُولَ  مِمَّن  يَنقَلِبُ  عَلَىٰ  عَقِبَيْهِ  وَإِن  كَانَتْ  لَكَبِيرَةً  إِلَّا  عَلَى  ٱلَّذِينَ  هَدَى  ٱللَّـهُ  وَمَا  كَانَ  ٱللَّـهُ  لِيُضِيعَ  إِيمَٰنَكُمْ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  بِٱلنَّاسِ  لَرَءُوفٌ  رَّحِيمٌ wa‑ka‑dhālika jaʿalnākum ummatan wasaṭan li‑takūnū shuhadāʾa ʿalā l‑nāsi wa‑yakūna l‑rasūlu ʿalaykum shahīdan wa‑mā jaʿalnā l‑qiblata allatī kunta ʿalayhā illā linaʿlama man yattabiʿu l‑rasūla mimman yanqalibu ʿalā ʿaqibayhi wa‑in kānat la‑kabīratan illā ʿalā lladhīna hadā allāhu wa‑mā kāna allāhu li‑yuḍīʿa īmānakum inna allāha bil‑nāsi la‑raʾūfun raḥīmun
Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change) momentous, except to those guided by Allah. And never would Allah Make your faith of no effect. For Allah is to all people Most surely full of kindness, Most Merciful.

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:144)

وَمَا  مُحَمَّدٌ  إِلَّا  رَسُولٌ  قَدْ  خَلَتْ  مِن  قَبْلِهِ  ٱلرُّسُلُ  أَفَإِي۟ن  مَّاتَ  أَوْ  قُتِلَ  ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ  عَلَىٰٓ  أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ  وَمَن  يَنقَلِبْ  عَلَىٰ  عَقِبَيْهِ  فَلَن  يَضُرَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  شَيْـًٔا  وَسَيَجْزِى  ٱللَّـهُ  ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ wa‑mā muḥammadun illā rasūlun qad khalat min qablihi l‑rusulu a‑fa‑īn māta aw qutila inqalabtum ʿala aʿqābikum wa‑man yanqalib ʿalā ʿaqibayhi fa‑lan yaḍurra allāha shayʾan wasayajzī allāhu l‑shākirīna
Muhammad is no more than a messenger: many Were the messenger that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah; but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude.

Surah 18 al-Kahf (The Cave)
(18:42)

So his fruits (and enjoyment) were encompassed (with ruin), and he remained twisting and turning his hands over what he had spent on his property, which had (now) tumbled to pieces to its very foundations, and he could only say, "Woe is me! Would I had never ascribed partners to my Lord and Cherisher!"

Surah 22 al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
(22:11)

وَمِنَ  ٱلنَّاسِ  مَن  يَعْبُدُ  ٱللَّـهَ  عَلَىٰ  حَرْفٍ  فَإِنْ  أَصَابَهُۥ  خَيْرٌ  ٱطْمَأَنَّ  بِهِۦ  وَإِنْ  أَصَابَتْهُ  فِتْنَةٌ  ٱنقَلَبَ  عَلَىٰ  وَجْهِهِۦ  خَسِرَ  ٱلدُّنْيَا  وَٱلْأَخِرَةَ  ذَٰلِكَ  هُوَ  ٱلْخُسْرَانُ  ٱلْمُبِينُ wa‑mina l‑nāsi man yaʿbudu allāha ʿalā ḥarfin fa‑in aṣābahu khayrun iṭmaʾanna bihi wa‑in aṣābathu fitnatun inqalaba ʿalā wajhihi khasira l‑dunyā wa‑l‑akhirata dhālika huwa l‑khusrānu l‑mubīnu
There are among men some who serve Allah, as it were, on the verge: if good befalls them, they are, therewith, well content; but if a trial comes to them, they turn on their faces: they lose both this world and the Hereafter: that is loss for all to see!

Surah 24 al-Nūr (The Light)
(24:37)

رِجَالٌ  لَّا  تُلْهِيهِمْ  تِجَٰرَةٌ  وَلَا  بَيْعٌ  عَن  ذِكْرِ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَإِقَامِ  ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ  وَإِيتَآءِ  ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ  يَخَافُونَ  يَوْمًا  تَتَقَلَّبُ  فِيهِ  ٱلْقُلُوبُ  وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ rijālun tulhīhim tijāratun wa‑lā bayʿun ʿan dhikri allāhi wa‑iqāmi l‑ṣalawti wa‑ītāʾi l‑zakawti yakhāfūna yawman tataqallabu fīhi l‑qulūbu wa‑l‑abṣāru
By men whom neither traffic nor merchandise can divert from the Remembrance of Allah, nor from regular Prayer, nor from the practice of regular Charity: Their (only) fear is for the Day when hearts and eyes will be transformed (in a world wholly new),-
(24:44)

The Day that their faces will be turned upside down in the Fire, they will say: "Woe to us! Would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!"

"Nay, ye thought that the Messenger and the Believers would never return to their families; this seemed pleasing in your hearts, and ye conceived an evil thought, for ye are a people lost (in wickedness)."

Surah 67 al-Mulk (The Kingdom)
(67:4)

ثُمَّ  ٱرْجِعِ  ٱلْبَصَرَ  كَرَّتَيْنِ  يَنقَلِبْ  إِلَيْكَ  ٱلْبَصَرُ  خَاسِئًا  وَهُوَ  حَسِيرٌ thumma irjiʿi l‑baṣara karratayni yanqalib ilayka l‑baṣaru khāsiʾan wa‑huwa ḥasīrun
