Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:33)

قَالَ  يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ  أَنۢبِئْهُم  بِأَسْمَآئِهِمْ  فَلَمَّآ  أَنۢبَأَهُم  بِأَسْمَآئِهِمْ  قَالَ  أَلَمْ  أَقُل  لَّكُمْ  إِنِّىٓ  أَعْلَمُ  غَيْبَ  ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ  وَٱلْأَرْضِ  وَأَعْلَمُ  مَا  تُبْدُونَ  وَمَا  كُنتُمْ  تَكْتُمُونَ qalā yā‑ʾādamu anbihum bi‑asmāʾihim fa‑lammā anbāʾahum bi‑asmāʾihim qalā a‑lam aqul la‑kum innī aʿlamu ghayba l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi wa‑iʿlamū tubdūna wa‑mā kuntum taktumūna
He said: "O Adam! Tell them their names." When he had told them, Allah said: "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and I know what ye reveal and what ye conceal?"
(2:34)

And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam" and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.
(2:35)

We said: "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden; and eat of the bountiful things therein as (where and when) ye will; but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression."
(2:36)

Then did Satan make them slip from the (garden), and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been. We said: "Get ye down, all (ye people), with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood - for a time."
(2:38)

قُلْنَا  ٱهْبِطُوا۟  مِنْهَا  جَمِيعًا  فَإِمَّا  يَأْتِيَنَّكُم  مِّنِّى  هُدًى  فَمَن  تَبِعَ  هُدَاىَ  فَلَا  خَوْفٌ  عَلَيْهِمْ  وَلَا  هُمْ  يَحْزَنُونَ qulnā ahbiṭū minhā jamīʿan fa‑immā yaʾtiyannakum minnī hudan fa‑man tabiʿa hudāya fa‑lā khawfun ʿalayhim wa‑lā hum yaḥzanūna
We said: "Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from me, whosoever follows My guidance, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
(2:58)

And remember We said: "Enter this town, and eat of the plenty therein as ye wish; but enter the gate with humility, in posture and in words, and We shall forgive you your faults and increase (the portion of) those who do good."
(2:60)

And remember Moses prayed for water for his people; We said: "Strike the rock with thy staff." Then gushed forth therefrom twelve springs. Each group knew its own place for water. So eat and drink of the sustenance provided by Allah, and do no evil nor mischief on the (face of the) earth.
(2:65)

وَلَقَدْ  عَلِمْتُمُ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ٱعْتَدَوْا۟  مِنكُمْ  فِى  ٱلسَّبْتِ  فَقُلْنَا  لَهُمْ  كُونُوا۟  قِرَدَةً  خَٰسِـِٔينَ wa‑la‑qad ʿalimtumu lladhīna aʿtadaw minkum l‑sabti fa‑qulnā lahum kūnū qiradatan khāsiʾīna
And well ye knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath: We said to them: "Be ye apes, despised and rejected."
(2:73)

So We said: "Strike the (body) with a piece of the (heifer)." Thus Allah bringeth the dead to life and showeth you His Signs: Perchance ye may understand.

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:181)

لَّقَدْ  سَمِعَ  ٱللَّـهُ  قَوْلَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  قَالُوٓا۟  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  فَقِيرٌ  وَنَحْنُ  أَغْنِيَآءُ  سَنَكْتُبُ  مَا  قَالُوا۟  وَقَتْلَهُمُ  ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ  بِغَيْرِ  حَقٍّ  وَنَقُولُ  ذُوقُوا۟  عَذَابَ  ٱلْحَرِيقِ llaqad samiʿa allāhu qawla lladhīna qālū inna allāha faqīrun wa‑naḥnu aghniyāʾu sa‑naktubu qālū wa‑qatlahumu l‑anbiyāʾa bi‑ghayri ḥaqqin wa‑naqūlu dhūqū ʿadhāba l‑ḥarīqi
Allah hath heard the taunt of those who say: "Truly, Allah is indigent and we are rich!"- We shall certainly record their word and (their act) of slaying the prophets in defiance of right, and We shall say: "Taste ye the penalty of the Scorching Fire!

Surah 4 al-Nisāʾ (The Women)
(4:154)

And for their covenant we raised over them (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai); and (on another occasion) we said: "Enter the gate with humility"; and (once again) we commanded them: "Transgress not in the matter of the sabbath." And we took from them a solemn covenant.

Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)
(5:116)

وَإِذْ  قَالَ  ٱللَّـهُ  يَٰعِيسَى  ٱبْنَ  مَرْيَمَ  ءَأَنتَ  قُلْتَ  لِلنَّاسِ  ٱتَّخِذُونِى  وَأُمِّىَ  إِلَٰهَيْنِ  مِن  دُونِ  ٱللَّـهِ  قَالَ  سُبْحَٰنَكَ  مَا  يَكُونُ  لِىٓ  أَنْ  أَقُولَ  مَا  لَيْسَ  لِى  بِحَقٍّ  إِن  كُنتُ  قُلْتُهُۥ  فَقَدْ  عَلِمْتَهُۥ  تَعْلَمُ  مَا  فِى  نَفْسِى  وَلَآ  أَعْلَمُ  مَا  فِى  نَفْسِكَ  إِنَّكَ  أَنتَ  عَلَّٰمُ  ٱلْغُيُوبِ wa‑idh qalā allāhu yā‑ʿīsā ibna maryama a‑anta qulta lil‑nāsi attakhidhūnī wa‑ummiya ilāhayni min dūni allāhi qalā subḥānaka yakūnu an aqūla laysa biḥaqqin in kuntu qultuhu fa‑qad ʿalimtahu taʿlamu nafsī wa‑lā aʿlamu nafsika innaka anta ʿallāmu l‑ghuyūbi
And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah'?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden.
(5:117)

مَا  قُلْتُ  لَهُمْ  إِلَّا  مَآ  أَمَرْتَنِى  بِهِۦٓ  أَنِ  ٱعْبُدُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  رَبِّى  وَرَبَّكُمْ  وَكُنتُ  عَلَيْهِمْ  شَهِيدًا  مَّا  دُمْتُ  فِيهِمْ  فَلَمَّا  تَوَفَّيْتَنِى  كُنتَ  أَنتَ  ٱلرَّقِيبَ  عَلَيْهِمْ  وَأَنتَ  عَلَىٰ  كُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  شَهِيدٌ qultu lahum illā amartanī bihi ani iʿbudū allāha rabbī wa‑rabbakum wa‑kuntu ʿalayhim shahīdan dumtu fīhim fa‑lammā tawaffaytanī kunta anta l‑raqība ʿalayhim waanta ʿalā kulli shayʾin shahīdun
"Never said I to them aught except what Thou didst command me to say, to wit, 'worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord'; and I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up Thou wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things.

Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)
(6:22)

وَيَوْمَ  نَحْشُرُهُمْ  جَمِيعًا  ثُمَّ  نَقُولُ  لِلَّذِينَ  أَشْرَكُوٓا۟  أَيْنَ  شُرَكَآؤُكُمُ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كُنتُمْ  تَزْعُمُونَ wa‑yawma naḥshuruhum jamīʿan thumma naqūlu li‑lladhīna ashrakū ayna shurakāʾukumu lladhīna kuntum tazʿumūna
One day shall We gather them all together: We shall say to those who ascribed partners (to Us): "Where are the partners whom ye (invented and) talked about?"
(6:50)

قُل  لَّآ  أَقُولُ  لَكُمْ  عِندِى  خَزَآئِنُ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَلَآ  أَعْلَمُ  ٱلْغَيْبَ  وَلَآ  أَقُولُ  لَكُمْ  إِنِّى  مَلَكٌ  إِنْ  أَتَّبِعُ  إِلَّا  مَا  يُوحَىٰٓ  إِلَىَّ  قُلْ  هَلْ  يَسْتَوِى  ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ  وَٱلْبَصِيرُ  أَفَلَا  تَتَفَكَّرُونَ qul aqūlu la‑kum ʿindī khazāʾinu allāhi wa‑lā aʿlamu l‑ghayba wa‑lā aqūlu la‑kum innī malakun in attabiʿu illā yūḥā ilayya qul hal yastawī l‑aʿmā wa‑l‑baṣīru a‑fa‑lā tatafakkarūna
Say: "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say: "can the blind be held equal to the seeing?" Will ye then consider not?

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:11)

It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels prostrate to Adam, and they prostrate; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those who prostrate.
(7:22)

فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا  بِغُرُورٍ  فَلَمَّا  ذَاقَا  ٱلشَّجَرَةَ  بَدَتْ  لَهُمَا  سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا  وَطَفِقَا  يَخْصِفَانِ  عَلَيْهِمَا  مِن  وَرَقِ  ٱلْجَنَّةِ  وَنَادَىٰهُمَا  رَبُّهُمَآ  أَلَمْ  أَنْهَكُمَا  عَن  تِلْكُمَا  ٱلشَّجَرَةِ  وَأَقُل  لَّكُمَآ  إِنَّ  ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ  لَكُمَا  عَدُوٌّ  مُّبِينٌ fa‑dallahumā bi‑ghurūrin fa‑lammā dhāqā l‑shajarata badat lahumā sawʾātuhumā wa‑ṭafiqā yakhṣifāni ʿalayhimā min waraqi l‑jannati wa‑nādāhumā rabbuhumā a‑lam anhakumā ʿan tilkumā l‑shajarati wa‑aqul lakumā inna l‑shayṭāna lakumā ʿaduwwun mubīnun
So by deceit he brought about their fall: when they tasted of the tree, their shame became manifest to them, and they began to sew together the leaves of the garden over their bodies. And their Lord called unto them: "Did I not forbid you that tree, and tell you that Satan was an avowed enemy unto you?"
(7:105)

حَقِيقٌ  عَلَىٰٓ  أَن  لَّآ  أَقُولَ  عَلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  إِلَّا  ٱلْحَقَّ  قَدْ  جِئْتُكُم  بِبَيِّنَةٍ  مِّن  رَّبِّكُمْ  فَأَرْسِلْ  مَعِىَ  بَنِىٓ  إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ḥaqīqun ʿala an aqūla ʿalā allāhi illā l‑ḥaqqa qad jiʾtukum bi‑bayyinatin min rabbikum fa‑arsil maʿiya banī isrāʾīla
One for whom it is right to say nothing but truth about Allah. Now have I come unto you (people), from your Lord, with a clear (Sign): So let the Children of Israel depart along with me."
(7:166)

فَلَمَّا  عَتَوْا۟  عَن  مَّا  نُهُوا۟  عَنْهُ  قُلْنَا  لَهُمْ  كُونُوا۟  قِرَدَةً  خَٰسِـِٔينَ fa‑lammā ʿataw ʿan nuhū ʿanhu qulnā lahum kūnū qiradatan khāsiʾīna
When in their insolence they transgressed (all) prohibitions, We said to them: "Be ye apes, despised and rejected."

Surah 8 al-Anfāl (The Spoils of War)
(8:31)

وَإِذَا  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَٰتُنَا  قَالُوا۟  قَدْ  سَمِعْنَا  لَوْ  نَشَآءُ  لَقُلْنَا  مِثْلَ  هَٰذَآ  إِنْ  هَٰذَآ  إِلَّآ  أَسَٰطِيرُ  ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ wa‑idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātunā qālū qad samiʿnā law nashāʾu laqulnā mithla hādhā in hādhā illā asāṭīru l‑awwalīna
When Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: "We have heard this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are nothing but tales of the ancients."

Surah 10 Yūnus (Jonah)
(10:28)

وَيَوْمَ  نَحْشُرُهُمْ  جَمِيعًا  ثُمَّ  نَقُولُ  لِلَّذِينَ  أَشْرَكُوا۟  مَكَانَكُمْ  أَنتُمْ  وَشُرَكَآؤُكُمْ  فَزَيَّلْنَا  بَيْنَهُمْ  وَقَالَ  شُرَكَآؤُهُم  مَّا  كُنتُمْ  إِيَّانَا  تَعْبُدُونَ wa‑yawma naḥshuruhum jamīʿan thumma naqūlu li‑lladhīna ashrakū makānakum antum wa‑shurakāʾukum fa‑zayyalna baynahum wa‑qāla shurakāʾuhum kuntum iyyānā taʿbudūna
One day shall We gather them all together. Then shall We say to those who joined gods (with Us): "To your place! ye and those ye joined as 'partners' We shall separate them, and their "Partners" shall say: "It was not us that ye worshipped!

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:31)

وَلَآ  أَقُولُ  لَكُمْ  عِندِى  خَزَآئِنُ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَلَآ  أَعْلَمُ  ٱلْغَيْبَ  وَلَآ  أَقُولُ  إِنِّى  مَلَكٌ  وَلَآ  أَقُولُ  لِلَّذِينَ  تَزْدَرِىٓ  أَعْيُنُكُمْ  لَن  يُؤْتِيَهُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  خَيْرًا  ٱللَّـهُ  أَعْلَمُ  بِمَا  فِىٓ  أَنفُسِهِمْ  إِنِّىٓ  إِذًا  لَّمِنَ  ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ wa‑lā aqūlu la‑kum ʿindī khazāʾinu allāhi wa‑lā aʿlamu l‑ghayba wa‑lā aqūlu innī malakun wa‑lā aqūlu li‑lladhīna tazdarī aʿyunukum lan yuʾtiyahumu allāhu khayran allāhu aʿlamu bi‑mā anfusihim innī idhan la‑mina l‑ẓālimīna
"I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor claim I to be an angel. Nor yet do I say, of those whom your eyes do despise that Allah will not grant them (all) that is good: Allah knoweth best what is in their souls: I should, if I did, indeed be a wrong-doer."
(11:40)

حَتَّىٰٓ  إِذَا  جَآءَ  أَمْرُنَا  وَفَارَ  ٱلتَّنُّورُ  قُلْنَا  ٱحْمِلْ  فِيهَا  مِن  كُلٍّ  زَوْجَيْنِ  ٱثْنَيْنِ  وَأَهْلَكَ  إِلَّا  مَن  سَبَقَ  عَلَيْهِ  ٱلْقَوْلُ  وَمَنْ  ءَامَنَ  وَمَآ  ءَامَنَ  مَعَهُۥٓ  إِلَّا  قَلِيلٌ ḥatta idhā jāa amrunā wa‑fāra l‑tannūru qulnā aḥmil fīhā min kullin zawjayni ithnayni wa‑ahlaka illā man sabaqa ʿalayhi l‑qawlu wa‑man āmana wa‑mā āmana maʿahu illā qalīlun
At length, behold! there came Our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We said: "Embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family - except those against whom the word has already gone forth,- and the Believers." but only a few believed with him.
(11:54)

إِن  نَّقُولُ  إِلَّا  ٱعْتَرَىٰكَ  بَعْضُ  ءَالِهَتِنَا  بِسُوٓءٍ  قَالَ  إِنِّىٓ  أُشْهِدُ  ٱللَّـهَ  وَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟  أَنِّى  بَرِىٓءٌ  مِّمَّا  تُشْرِكُونَ in naqūlu illā ʿtaraka baʿḍu ālihatinā bi‑sūʾin qalā innī ushhidu allāha wa‑ishhadū annī barīʾun mimmā tushrikūna

Surah 12 Yūsuf (Joseph)
(12:66)

قَالَ  لَنْ  أُرْسِلَهُۥ  مَعَكُمْ  حَتَّىٰ  تُؤْتُونِ  مَوْثِقًا  مِّنَ  ٱللَّـهِ  لَتَأْتُنَّنِى  بِهِۦٓ  إِلَّآ  أَن  يُحَاطَ  بِكُمْ  فَلَمَّآ  ءَاتَوْهُ  مَوْثِقَهُمْ  قَالَ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَىٰ  مَا  نَقُولُ  وَكِيلٌ qalā lan ursilahu maʿakum ḥattā tuʾtūni mawthiqan mina allāhi la‑taʾtunnanī bihi illā an yuḥāṭa bikum fa‑lammā ātawhu mawthiqahum qalā allāhu ʿalā naqūlu wakīlun
(Jacob) said: "Never will I send him with you until ye swear a solemn oath to me, in Allah's name, that ye will be sure to bring him back to me unless ye are yourselves hemmed in (and made powerless). And when they had sworn their solemn oath, he said: "Over all that we say, be Allah the witness and guardian!"
(12:96)

فَلَمَّآ  أَن  جَآءَ  ٱلْبَشِيرُ  أَلْقَىٰهُ  عَلَىٰ  وَجْهِهِۦ  فَٱرْتَدَّ  بَصِيرًا  قَالَ  أَلَمْ  أَقُل  لَّكُمْ  إِنِّىٓ  أَعْلَمُ  مِنَ  ٱللَّـهِ  مَا  لَا  تَعْلَمُونَ fa‑lammā an jāa l‑bashīru alqahu ʿalā wajhihi fartadda baṣīran qalā a‑lam aqul la‑kum innī aʿlamu mina allāhi taʿlamūna
Then when the bearer of the good news came, He cast (the shirt) over his face, and he forthwith regained clear sight. He said: "Did I not say to you, 'I know from Allah that which ye know not?'"

Surah 16 al-Naḥl (The Bee)
(16:40)

إِنَّمَا  قَوْلُنَا  لِشَىْءٍ  إِذَآ  أَرَدْنَٰهُ  أَن  نَّقُولَ  لَهُۥ  كُن  فَيَكُونُ innamā qawlunā li‑shayʾin idhā aradnāhu an nnaqūla lahu kun fa‑yakūnu
For to anything which We have willed, We but say the word, "Be", and it is.

Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel)
(17:60)

Behold! We told thee that thy Lord doth encompass mankind round about: We granted the vision which We showed thee, but as a trial for men,- as also the Cursed Tree (mentioned) in the Qur'an: We put terror (and warning) into them, but it only increases their inordinate transgression!
(17:61)

وَإِذْ  قُلْنَا  لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ  ٱسْجُدُوا۟  لِءَادَمَ  فَسَجَدُوٓا۟  إِلَّآ  إِبْلِيسَ  قَالَ  ءَأَسْجُدُ  لِمَنْ  خَلَقْتَ  طِينًا wa‑idh qulnā lil‑malāʾikati isjudū li‑ādama fa‑sajadū illā iblīsa qalā a‑asjudu liman khalaqta ṭīnan
Behold! We said to the angels: "Bow down unto Adam": They bowed down except Iblis: He said, "Shall I bow down to one whom Thou didst create from clay?"
(17:104)

And We said thereafter to the Children of Israel, "Dwell securely in the land (of promise)": but when the second of the warnings came to pass, We gathered you together in a mingled crowd.

Surah 18 al-Kahf (The Cave)
(18:14)

We gave strength to their hearts: Behold, they stood up and said: "Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and of the earth: never shall we call upon any god other than Him: if we did, we should indeed have uttered an enormity!
(18:50)

وَإِذْ  قُلْنَا  لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ  ٱسْجُدُوا۟  لِءَادَمَ  فَسَجَدُوٓا۟  إِلَّآ  إِبْلِيسَ  كَانَ  مِنَ  ٱلْجِنِّ  فَفَسَقَ  عَنْ  أَمْرِ  رَبِّهِۦٓ  أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُۥ  وَذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓ  أَوْلِيَآءَ  مِن  دُونِى  وَهُمْ  لَكُمْ  عَدُوٌّۢ  بِئْسَ  لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ  بَدَلًا wa‑idh qulnā lil‑malāʾikati isjudū li‑ādama fa‑sajadū illā iblīsa kāna mina l‑jinni fa‑fasaqa ʿan amri rabbihi a‑fa‑tattakhidhūnahu wa‑dhurriyyatahu awliyāʾa min dūnī wa‑hum la‑kum ʿadūwun biʾsa lil‑ẓālimīna badalan
Behold! We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam": They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrong-doers!
(18:72)

قَالَ  أَلَمْ  أَقُلْ  إِنَّكَ  لَن  تَسْتَطِيعَ  مَعِىَ  صَبْرًا qalā a‑lam aqul innaka lan tastaṭīʿa maʿiya ṣabran
He answered: "Did I not tell thee that thou canst have no patience with me?"
(18:75)

قَالَ  أَلَمْ  أَقُل  لَّكَ  إِنَّكَ  لَن  تَسْتَطِيعَ  مَعِىَ  صَبْرًا qalā a‑lam aqul laka innaka lan tastaṭīʿa maʿiya ṣabran
He answered: "Did I not tell thee that thou canst have no patience with me?"
(18:86)

حَتَّىٰٓ  إِذَا  بَلَغَ  مَغْرِبَ  ٱلشَّمْسِ  وَجَدَهَا  تَغْرُبُ  فِى  عَيْنٍ  حَمِئَةٍ  وَوَجَدَ  عِندَهَا  قَوْمًا  قُلْنَا  يَٰذَا  ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ  إِمَّآ  أَن  تُعَذِّبَ  وَإِمَّآ  أَن  تَتَّخِذَ  فِيهِمْ  حُسْنًا ḥatta idhā balagha maghriba l‑shamsi wajadahā taghrubu ʿaynin ḥamiʾatin wa‑wajada ʿindahā qawman qulnā yādhā l‑qarnayni immā an tuʿadhdhiba waimmā an tattakhidha fīhim ḥusnan
Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: Near it he found a People: We said: "O Zul-qarnain! (thou hast authority,) either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness."
(18:88)

وَأَمَّا  مَنْ  ءَامَنَ  وَعَمِلَ  صَٰلِحًا  فَلَهُۥ  جَزَآءً  ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ  وَسَنَقُولُ  لَهُۥ  مِنْ  أَمْرِنَا  يُسْرًا wa‑ammā man āmana wa‑ʿamila ṣāliḥan fa‑lahu jazāʾan l‑ḥusnā wa‑sanaqūlu lahu min amrinā yusran
"But whoever believes, and works righteousness,- he shall have a goodly reward, and easy will be his task as We order it by our Command."

Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha)
(20:68)

قُلْنَا  لَا  تَخَفْ  إِنَّكَ  أَنتَ  ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ qulnā takhaf innaka anta l‑aʿlā
We said: "Fear not! for thou hast indeed the upper hand:
(20:116)

When We said to the angels, "Prostrate yourselves to Adam", they prostrated themselves, but not Iblis: he refused.
(20:117)

Then We said: "O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery.

Surah 21 al-Anbiyāʾ (The Prophets)
(21:69)

We said, "O Fire! be thou cool, and (a means of) safety for Abraham!"

Surah 25 al-Furqān (The Criterion)
(25:36)

And We command: "Go ye both, to the people who have rejected our Signs:" And those (people) We destroyed with utter destruction.

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:49)

They said: "Swear a mutual oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his people, and that we shall then say to his heir (when he seeks vengeance): 'We were not present at the slaughter of his people, and we are positively telling the truth.'"

Surah 28 al-Qaṣaṣ (The Narrative)
(28:28)

He said: "Be that (the agreement) between me and thee: whichever of the two terms I fulfil, let there be no ill-will to me. Be Allah a witness to what we say."
(28:75)

And from each people shall We draw a witness, and We shall say: "Produce your Proof": then shall they know that the Truth is in Allah (alone), and the (lies) which they invented will leave them in lurch.

Surah 34 Sabaʾ (Sheba)
(34:42)

فَٱلْيَوْمَ  لَا  يَمْلِكُ  بَعْضُكُمْ  لِبَعْضٍ  نَّفْعًا  وَلَا  ضَرًّا  وَنَقُولُ  لِلَّذِينَ  ظَلَمُوا۟  ذُوقُوا۟  عَذَابَ  ٱلنَّارِ  ٱلَّتِى  كُنتُم  بِهَا  تُكَذِّبُونَ fa‑l‑yawma yamliku baʿḍukum li‑baʿḍin nnafʿan wa‑lā ḍarran wa‑naqūlu li‑lladhīna ẓalamū dhūqū ʿadhāba l‑nāri allatī kuntum bihā tukadhdhibūna
So on that Day no power shall they have over each other, for profit or harm: and We shall say to the wrong-doers, "Taste ye the Penalty of the Fire,- the which ye were wont to deny!"

Surah 38 Ṣād (Sad)
(38:84)

قَالَ  فَٱلْحَقُّ  وَٱلْحَقَّ  أَقُولُ qalā fa‑l‑ḥaqqu wa‑l‑ḥaqqa aqūlu
(Allah) said: "Then it is just and fitting- and I say what is just and fitting-

Surah 40 al-Ghāfir (The Forgiving One)
(40:44)

"Soon will ye remember what I say to you (now), My (own) affair I commit to Allah: for Allah (ever) watches over His Servants."

Surah 50 Qāf (Qaf)
(50:30)

One Day We will ask Hell, "Art thou filled to the full?" It will say, "Are there any more (to come)?"

Surah 58 al-Mujādilah (She Who Pleaded)
(58:8)

أَلَمْ  تَرَ  إِلَى  ٱلَّذِينَ  نُهُوا۟  عَنِ  ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ  ثُمَّ  يَعُودُونَ  لِمَا  نُهُوا۟  عَنْهُ  وَيَتَنَٰجَوْنَ  بِٱلْإِثْمِ  وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ  وَمَعْصِيَتِ  ٱلرَّسُولِ  وَإِذَا  جَآءُوكَ  حَيَّوْكَ  بِمَا  لَمْ  يُحَيِّكَ  بِهِ  ٱللَّـهُ  وَيَقُولُونَ  فِىٓ  أَنفُسِهِمْ  لَوْلَا  يُعَذِّبُنَا  ٱللَّـهُ  بِمَا  نَقُولُ  حَسْبُهُمْ  جَهَنَّمُ  يَصْلَوْنَهَا  فَبِئْسَ  ٱلْمَصِيرُ a‑lam tara ilā lladhīna nuhū ʿani l‑najwā thumma yaʿūdūna li‑mā nuhū ʿanhu wa‑yatanājawna bi‑l‑ithmi wa‑l‑ʿudwāni wa‑maʿṣīati l‑rasūli wa‑idhā jāʾūka ḥayyawka bi‑mā lam yuḥayyika bihi allāhu wa‑yaqūlūna anfusihim lawlā yuʿadhdhibunā allāhu bi‑mā naqūlu ḥasbuhum jahannamu yaṣlawnahā fa‑bisa l‑maṣīru
Turnest thou not thy sight towards those who were forbidden secret counsels yet revert to that which they were forbidden (to do)? And they hold secret counsels among themselves for iniquity and hostility, and disobedience to the Messenger. And when they come to thee, they salute thee, not as Allah salutes thee, (but in crooked ways): And they say to themselves, "Why does not Allah punish us for our words?" Enough for them is Hell: In it will they burn, and evil is that destination!

Surah 67 al-Mulk (The Kingdom)
(67:9)

قَالُوا۟  بَلَىٰ  قَدْ  جَآءَنَا  نَذِيرٌ  فَكَذَّبْنَا  وَقُلْنَا  مَا  نَزَّلَ  ٱللَّـهُ  مِن  شَىْءٍ  إِنْ  أَنتُمْ  إِلَّا  فِى  ضَلَٰلٍ  كَبِيرٍ qālū balā qad jāʾanā nadhīrun fa‑kadhdhabnā wa‑qulnā nazzala allāhu min shayʾin in antum illā ḍalālin kabīrin
They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'"
