(2:177) | لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ | laysa l‑birra an tuwallū wujūhakum qibala l‑mashriqi wa‑l‑maghribi wa‑lākinna l‑birra man āmana billāhi wa‑l‑yawmi l‑akhiri wa‑l‑malāʾikati wa‑l‑kitābi wa‑l‑nabīyina wa‑ātā l‑māla ʿalā ḥubbihi dhawī l‑qurbā wa‑l‑yatāmā wa‑l‑masākīna wa‑ibna l‑sabīli wa‑l‑sāʾilīna wa‑fī l‑riqābi wa‑aqāma l‑ṣalāta wa‑ātā l‑zakāta wa‑l‑mūfūna bi‑ʿahdihim idhā ʿāhadū wa‑l‑ṣābirīna fī l‑baʾsāʾi wa‑l‑ḍarrāʾi wa‑ḥīna l‑basi ulāʾika lladhīna ṣadaqū wa‑ūlāʾika humu l‑muttaqūna | It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east
or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and
the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance,
out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the
wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast
in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye
have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and
adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of
truth, the Allah-fearing.
Sura al-Baqara 2:177 لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ laysa l-birra an tuwallū wujūhakum qibala l-mashriqi wa-l-maghribi wa-lākinna l-birra man āmana billāhi wa-l-yawmi l-akhiri wa-l-malāʾikati wa-l-kitābi wa-l-nabīyina wa-ātā l-māla ʿalā ḥubbihi dhawī l-qurbā wa-l-yatāmā wa-l-masākīna wa-ibna l-sabīli wa-l-sāʾilīna wa-fī l-riqābi wa-aqāma l-ṣalāta wa-ātā l-zakāta wa-l-mūfūna bi-ʿahdihim idhā ʿāhadū wa-l-ṣābirīna fī l-baʾsāʾi wa-l-ḍarrāʾi wa-ḥīna l-basi ulāʾika lladhīna ṣadaqū wa-ūlāʾika humu l-muttaqūna It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. (2:275) | ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ لَا يَقُومُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَقُومُ ٱلَّذِى يَتَخَبَّطُهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ مِنَ ٱلْمَسِّ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلْبَيْعُ مِثْلُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ وَأَحَلَّ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْبَيْعَ وَحَرَّمَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ فَمَن جَآءَهُۥ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ فَٱنتَهَىٰ فَلَهُۥ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمْرُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَمَنْ عَادَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ | lladhīna yaʾkulūna l‑ribā lā yaqūmūna illā ka‑mā yaqūmu alladhī yatakhabbaṭuhu l‑shayṭānu mina l‑massi dhālika bi‑annahum qālū innamā l‑bayʿu mithlu l‑ribā wa‑aḥalla allāhu l‑bayʿa wa‑ḥarrama l‑ribā fa‑man jāʾahu mawʿiẓatun min rabbihi fa‑antaha fa‑lahu mā salafa wa‑amruhu ilā allāhi wa‑man ʿāda fa‑ūlāʾika aṣḥābu l‑nāri hum fīhā khālidūna | Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom
the Evil one by his touch Hath driven to madness. That is because they say:
"Trade is like usury," but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury.
Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, desist, shall be
pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who
repeat (The offence) are companions of the Fire: They will abide therein
(for ever).
Sura al-Baqara 2:275 ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ لَا يَقُومُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَقُومُ ٱلَّذِى يَتَخَبَّطُهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ مِنَ ٱلْمَسِّ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلْبَيْعُ مِثْلُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ وَأَحَلَّ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْبَيْعَ وَحَرَّمَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ فَمَن جَآءَهُۥ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ فَٱنتَهَىٰ فَلَهُۥ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمْرُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَمَنْ عَادَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ lladhīna yaʾkulūna l-ribā lā yaqūmūna illā ka-mā yaqūmu alladhī yatakhabbaṭuhu l-shayṭānu mina l-massi dhālika bi-annahum qālū innamā l-bayʿu mithlu l-ribā wa-aḥalla allāhu l-bayʿa wa-ḥarrama l-ribā fa-man jāʾahu mawʿiẓatun min rabbihi fa-antaha fa-lahu mā salafa wa-amruhu ilā allāhi wa-man ʿāda fa-ūlāʾika aṣḥābu l-nāri hum fīhā khālidūna Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom the Evil one by his touch Hath driven to madness. (4:102) | وَإِذَا كُنتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُم مَّعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ فَإِذَا سَجَدُوا۟ فَلْيَكُونُوا۟ مِن وَرَآئِكُمْ وَلْتَأْتِ طَآئِفَةٌ أُخْرَىٰ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا۟ فَلْيُصَلُّوا۟ مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَهُمْ وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ وَدَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ تَغْفُلُونَ عَنْ أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ فَيَمِيلُونَ عَلَيْكُم مَّيْلَةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِن كَانَ بِكُمْ أَذًى مِّن مَّطَرٍ أَوْ كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَن تَضَعُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَكُمْ وَخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا | wa‑idhā kunta fīhim fa‑aqamta lahumu l‑ṣalāta faltaqum ṭāʾifatun minhum maʿaka wa‑lyakhudhū asliḥatahum fa‑idhā sajadū falyakūnū min warāikum wa‑ltati ṭāʾifatun ukhrā lam yuṣallū fa‑lyuṣallū maʿaka wa‑lyakhudhū ḥidhrahum waasliḥatahum wadda lladhīna kafarū law taghfulūna ʿan asliḥatikum wa‑amtiʿatikum fa‑yamīlūna ʿalaykum maylatan wāḥidatan wa‑lā junāḥa ʿalaykum in kāna bikum adhan min maṭarin aw kuntum marḍā an taḍaʿū asliḥatakum wa‑khudhū ḥidhrakum inna allāha aʿadda lil‑kāfirīna ʿadhāban muhīnan | When thou (O Messenger) art with them, and standest to lead them
in prayer, Let one party of them stand up (in prayer) with thee, Taking
their arms with them: When they finish their prostrations, let them Take
their position in the rear. And let the other party come up which hath not
yet prayed - and let them pray with thee, Taking all precaution, and
bearing arms: the Unbelievers wish, if ye were negligent of your arms and
your baggage, to assault you in a single rush. But there is no blame on you
if ye put away your arms because of the inconvenience of rain or because ye
are ill; but take (every) precaution for yourselves. For the Unbelievers
Allah hath prepared a humiliating punishment.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:102 وَإِذَا كُنتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُم مَّعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ فَإِذَا سَجَدُوا۟ فَلْيَكُونُوا۟ مِن وَرَآئِكُمْ وَلْتَأْتِ طَآئِفَةٌ أُخْرَىٰ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا۟ فَلْيُصَلُّوا۟ مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَهُمْ وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ وَدَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ تَغْفُلُونَ عَنْ أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ فَيَمِيلُونَ عَلَيْكُم مَّيْلَةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِن كَانَ بِكُمْ أَذًى مِّن مَّطَرٍ أَوْ كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَن تَضَعُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَكُمْ وَخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا wa-idhā kunta fīhim fa-aqamta lahumu l-ṣalāta faltaqum ṭāʾifatun minhum maʿaka wa-lyakhudhū asliḥatahum fa-idhā sajadū falyakūnū min warāikum wa-ltati ṭāʾifatun ukhrā lam yuṣallū fa-lyuṣallū maʿaka wa-lyakhudhū ḥidhrahum waasliḥatahum wadda lladhīna kafarū law taghfulūna ʿan asliḥatikum wa-amtiʿatikum fa-yamīlūna ʿalaykum maylatan wāḥidatan wa-lā junāḥa ʿalaykum in kāna bikum adhan min maṭarin aw kuntum marḍā an taḍaʿū asliḥatakum wa-khudhū ḥidhrakum inna allāha aʿadda lil-kāfirīna ʿadhāban muhīnan When thou (O Messenger) art with them, and standest to lead them in prayer, Let one party of them stand up (in prayer) with thee, Taking their arms with them: When they finish their prostrations, let them Take their position in the rear. (9:18) | إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَٰجِدَ ٱللَّـهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّـهَ فَعَسَىٰٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَن يَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ | innamā yaʿmuru masājida allāhi man āmana billāhi wa‑l‑yawmi l‑akhiri wa‑aqāma l‑ṣalāta wa‑ātā l‑zakāta wa‑lam yakhshā illā allāha fa‑ʿaṣā ulāʾika an yakūnū mina l‑muhtadīna | The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as
believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and practise
regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah. It is they who are
expected to be on true guidance.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:18 إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَٰجِدَ ٱللَّـهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّـهَ فَعَسَىٰٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَن يَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ innamā yaʿmuru masājida allāhi man āmana billāhi wa-l-yawmi l-akhiri wa-aqāma l-ṣalāta wa-ātā l-zakāta wa-lam yakhshā illā allāha fa-ʿaṣā ulāʾika an yakūnū mina l-muhtadīna The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance. |
(9:84) | وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُم مَّاتَ أَبَدًا وَلَا تَقُمْ عَلَىٰ قَبْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ | wa‑lā tuṣalli ʿala aḥadin minhum māta abadan wa‑lā taqum ʿalā qabrihi innahum kafarū billāhi wa‑rasūlihi wa‑mātū wa‑hum fāsiqūna | Nor do thou ever pray for any of them that dies, nor stand at
his grave; for they rejected Allah and His Messenger, and died in a state of
perverse rebellion.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:84 وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُم مَّاتَ أَبَدًا وَلَا تَقُمْ عَلَىٰ قَبْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ wa-lā tuṣalli ʿala aḥadin minhum māta abadan wa-lā taqum ʿalā qabrihi innahum kafarū billāhi wa-rasūlihi wa-mātū wa-hum fāsiqūna Nor do thou ever pray for any of them that dies, nor stand at his grave; for they rejected Allah and His Messenger, and died in a state of perverse rebellion. |
(9:108) | لَا تَقُمْ فِيهِ أَبَدًا لَّمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ أَحَقُّ أَن تَقُومَ فِيهِ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَن يَتَطَهَّرُوا۟ وَٱللَّـهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُطَّهِّرِينَ | lā taqum fīhi abadan la‑masjidun ussisa ʿalā l‑taqwā min awwali yawmin aḥaqqu an taqūma fīhi fīhi rijālun yuḥibbūna an yataṭahharū wallāhu yuḥibbu l‑muṭṭahhirīna | Never stand thou forth therein. There is a mosque whose
foundation was laid from the first day on piety; it is more worthy of the
standing forth (for prayer) therein. In it are men who love to be purified;
and Allah loveth those who make themselves pure.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:108 لَا تَقُمْ فِيهِ أَبَدًا لَّمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ أَحَقُّ أَن تَقُومَ فِيهِ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَن يَتَطَهَّرُوا۟ وَٱللَّـهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُطَّهِّرِينَ lā taqum fīhi abadan la-masjidun ussisa ʿalā l-taqwā min awwali yawmin aḥaqqu an taqūma fīhi fīhi rijālun yuḥibbūna an yataṭahharū wallāhu yuḥibbu l-muṭṭahhirīna Never stand thou forth therein. (10:105) | وَأَنْ أَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ | wa‑an aqim wajhaka lil‑dīni ḥanīfan wa‑lā takūnanna mina l‑mushrikīna | "And further (thus): 'set thy face towards religion with true
piety, and never in any wise be of the Unbelievers;
Sura Yūnus 10:105 وَأَنْ أَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ wa-an aqim wajhaka lil-dīni ḥanīfan wa-lā takūnanna mina l-mushrikīna "And further (thus): 'set thy face towards religion with true piety, and never in any wise be of the Unbelievers; |
(11:112) | فَٱسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ أُمِرْتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا۟ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ | fa‑istaqim ka‑mā umirta wa‑man tāba maʿaka wa‑lā taṭghaw innahu bi‑mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun | Therefore stand firm (in the straight Path) as thou art
commanded,- thou and those who with thee turn (unto Allah); and transgress
not (from the Path): for He seeth well all that ye do.
Sura Hūd 11:112 فَٱسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ أُمِرْتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا۟ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ fa-istaqim ka-mā umirta wa-man tāba maʿaka wa-lā taṭghaw innahu bi-mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun Therefore stand firm (in the straight Path) as thou art commanded,- thou and those who with thee turn (unto Allah); and transgress not (from the Path): for He seeth well all that ye do. |
(11:114) | وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَىِ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ إِنَّ ٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ يُذْهِبْنَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّٰكِرِينَ | wa‑aqimi l‑ṣalāta ṭarafayi l‑nahāri wa‑zulafan mina l‑layli inna l‑ḥasanāti yudhhibna l‑sayyiʾāti dhālika dhikra lil‑dhākirīna | And establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and
at the approaches of the night: For those things, that are good remove
those that are evil: Be that the word of remembrance to those who remember
(their Lord):
Sura Hūd 11:114 وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَىِ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ إِنَّ ٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ يُذْهِبْنَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّٰكِرِينَ wa-aqimi l-ṣalāta ṭarafayi l-nahāri wa-zulafan mina l-layli inna l-ḥasanāti yudhhibna l-sayyiʾāti dhālika dhikra lil-dhākirīna And establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night: For those things, that are good remove those that are evil: Be that the word of remembrance to those who remember (their Lord): |
(14:41) | رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْحِسَابُ | rabbanā aghfir lī wa‑li‑wālidayya wa‑lil‑muʾminīna yawma yaqūmu l‑ḥisābu | "O our Lord! cover (us) with Thy Forgiveness - me, my parents,
and (all) Believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established!
Sura Ibrāhīm 14:41 رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْحِسَابُ rabbanā aghfir lī wa-li-wālidayya wa-lil-muʾminīna yawma yaqūmu l-ḥisābu "O our Lord! cover (us) with Thy Forgiveness - me, my parents, and (all) Believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established! |
(17:78) | أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِدُلُوكِ ٱلشَّمْسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَقُرْءَانَ ٱلْفَجْرِ إِنَّ قُرْءَانَ ٱلْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا | aqimi l‑ṣalāta li‑dulūki l‑shamsi ilā ghasaqi l‑layli wa‑qurāna l‑fajri inna qurāna l‑fajri kāna mashhūdan | Establish regular prayers - at the sun's decline till the
darkness of the night, and the morning prayer and reading: for the prayer
and reading in the morning carry their testimony.
Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:78 أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِدُلُوكِ ٱلشَّمْسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَقُرْءَانَ ٱلْفَجْرِ إِنَّ قُرْءَانَ ٱلْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا aqimi l-ṣalāta li-dulūki l-shamsi ilā ghasaqi l-layli wa-qurāna l-fajri inna qurāna l-fajri kāna mashhūdan Establish regular prayers - at the sun's decline till the darkness of the night, and the morning prayer and reading: for the prayer and reading in the morning carry their testimony. |
(18:77) | فَٱنطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَتَيَآ أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ ٱسْتَطْعَمَآ أَهْلَهَا فَأَبَوْا۟ أَن يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيهَا جِدَارًا يُرِيدُ أَن يَنقَضَّ فَأَقَامَهُۥ قَالَ لَوْ شِئْتَ لَتَّخَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا | fa‑inṭalaqā ḥatta idhā atayā ahla qaryatin astaṭʿamā ahlahā faabaw an yuḍayyifūhumā fa‑wajadā fīhā jidāran yurīdu an yanqaḍḍa faaqāmahu qalā law shiʾta lattakhadhta ʿalayhi ajran | Then they proceeded: until, when they came to the inhabitants
of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused them hospitality.
They found there a wall on the point of falling down, but he set it up
straight. (Moses) said: "If thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have
exacted some recompense for it!"
Sura al-Kahf 18:77 فَٱنطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَتَيَآ أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ ٱسْتَطْعَمَآ أَهْلَهَا فَأَبَوْا۟ أَن يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيهَا جِدَارًا يُرِيدُ أَن يَنقَضَّ فَأَقَامَهُۥ قَالَ لَوْ شِئْتَ لَتَّخَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا fa-inṭalaqā ḥatta idhā atayā ahla qaryatin astaṭʿamā ahlahā faabaw an yuḍayyifūhumā fa-wajadā fīhā jidāran yurīdu an yanqaḍḍa faaqāmahu qalā law shiʾta lattakhadhta ʿalayhi ajran Then they proceeded: until, when they came to the inhabitants of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused them hospitality. They found there a wall on the point of falling down, but he set it up straight. (Moses) said: "If thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have exacted some recompense for it!" |
(20:14) | إِنَّنِىٓ أَنَا ٱللَّـهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعْبُدْنِى وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِذِكْرِىٓ | innanī anā allāhu lā ilāha illā anā fa‑iʿbudnī wa‑aqimi l‑ṣalāta li‑dhikrī | "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me
(only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise.
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:14 إِنَّنِىٓ أَنَا ٱللَّـهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعْبُدْنِى وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِذِكْرِىٓ innanī anā allāhu lā ilāha illā anā fa-iʿbudnī wa-aqimi l-ṣalāta li-dhikrī "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. |
(26:218) | ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ | alladhī yaraka ḥīna taqūmu | Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer),
Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:218 ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ alladhī yaraka ḥīna taqūmu Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), |
(27:39) | قَالَ عِفْرِيتٌ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَن تَقُومَ مِن مَّقَامِكَ وَإِنِّى عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِىٌّ أَمِينٌ | qalā ʿifrītun mina l‑jinni anā ātīka bihi qabla an taqūma min maqāmika wa‑innī ʿalayhi la‑qawiyyun amīnun | Said an 'Ifrit, of the Jinns: "I will bring it to thee before
thou rise from thy council: indeed I have full strength for the purpose,
and may be trusted."
Sura al-Naml 27:39 قَالَ عِفْرِيتٌ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَن تَقُومَ مِن مَّقَامِكَ وَإِنِّى عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِىٌّ أَمِينٌ qalā ʿifrītun mina l-jinni anā ātīka bihi qabla an taqūma min maqāmika wa-innī ʿalayhi la-qawiyyun amīnun Said an 'Ifrit, of the Jinns: "I will bring it to thee before thou rise from thy council: indeed I have full strength for the purpose, and may be trusted." |
(29:45) | ٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ وَلَذِكْرُ ٱللَّـهِ أَكْبَرُ وَٱللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ | itlu mā ūḥiya ilayka mina l‑kitābi wa‑aqimi l‑ṣalāta inna l‑ṣalāta tanha ʿani l‑faḥshāʾi wa‑l‑munkari wa‑la‑dhikru allāhi akbaru wallāhu yaʿlamu mā taṣnaʿūna | Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and
establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust
deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without
doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.
Sura al-ʿAnkabūt 29:45 ٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ وَلَذِكْرُ ٱللَّـهِ أَكْبَرُ وَٱللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ itlu mā ūḥiya ilayka mina l-kitābi wa-aqimi l-ṣalāta inna l-ṣalāta tanha ʿani l-faḥshāʾi wa-l-munkari wa-la-dhikru allāhi akbaru wallāhu yaʿlamu mā taṣnaʿūna Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do. |
(30:12) | وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُبْلِسُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ | wa‑yawma taqūmu l‑sāʿatu yublisu l‑mujrimūna | On the Day that the Hour will be established, the guilty will
be struck dumb with despair.
Sura al-Rūm 30:12 وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُبْلِسُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ wa-yawma taqūmu l-sāʿatu yublisu l-mujrimūna On the Day that the Hour will be established, the guilty will be struck dumb with despair. |
(30:14) | وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ | wa‑yawma taqūmu l‑sāʿatu yawmaʾidhin yatafarraqūna | On the Day that the Hour will be established,- that Day shall
(all men) be sorted out.
Sura al-Rūm 30:14 وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ wa-yawma taqūmu l-sāʿatu yawmaʾidhin yatafarraqūna On the Day that the Hour will be established,- that Day shall (all men) be sorted out. |
(30:25) | وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَن تَقُومَ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ بِأَمْرِهِۦ ثُمَّ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ دَعْوَةً مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ إِذَآ أَنتُمْ تَخْرُجُونَ | wa‑min āyātihi an taqūma l‑samāʾu wa‑l‑arḍu bi‑amrihi thumma idhā daʿākum daʿwatan mina l‑arḍi idhā antum takhrujūna | And among His Signs is this, that heaven and earth stand by
His Command: then when He calls you, by a single call, from the earth,
behold, ye (straightway) come forth.
Sura al-Rūm 30:25 وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَن تَقُومَ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ بِأَمْرِهِۦ ثُمَّ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ دَعْوَةً مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ إِذَآ أَنتُمْ تَخْرُجُونَ wa-min āyātihi an taqūma l-samāʾu wa-l-arḍu bi-amrihi thumma idhā daʿākum daʿwatan mina l-arḍi idhā antum takhrujūna And among His Signs is this, that heaven and earth stand by His Command: then when He calls you, by a single call, from the earth, behold, ye (straightway) come forth. |
(30:30) | فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا فِطْرَتَ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلَّتِى فَطَرَ ٱلنَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ ٱللَّـهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ | fa‑aqim wajhaka lil‑dīni ḥanīfan fiṭrata allāhi allatī fatarā l‑nāsa ʿalayhā lā tabdīla likhalqi allāhi dhālika l‑dīnu l‑qayyimu wa‑lākinna akthara l‑nāsi lā yaʿlamūna | So set thou thy face steadily and truly to the Faith:
(establish) Allah's handiwork according to the pattern on which He has made
mankind: no change (let there be) in the work (wrought) by Allah: that is the
standard Religion: but most among mankind understand not.
Sura al-Rūm 30:30 فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا فِطْرَتَ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلَّتِى فَطَرَ ٱلنَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ ٱللَّـهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ fa-aqim wajhaka lil-dīni ḥanīfan fiṭrata allāhi allatī fatarā l-nāsa ʿalayhā lā tabdīla likhalqi allāhi dhālika l-dīnu l-qayyimu wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yaʿlamūna So set thou thy face steadily and truly to the Faith: (establish) Allah's handiwork according to the pattern on which He has made mankind: no change (let there be) in the work (wrought) by Allah: that is the standard Religion: but most among mankind understand not. |
(30:43) | فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ ٱلْقَيِّمِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصَّدَّعُونَ | fa‑aqim wajhaka lil‑dīni l‑qayyimi min qabli an yaʾtiya yawmun lā maradda lahu mina allāhi yawmaʾidhin yaṣṣaddaʿūna | But set thou thy face to the right Religion before there come
from Allah the Day which there is no chance of averting: on that Day shall
men be divided (in two).
Sura al-Rūm 30:43 فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ ٱلْقَيِّمِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصَّدَّعُونَ fa-aqim wajhaka lil-dīni l-qayyimi min qabli an yaʾtiya yawmun lā maradda lahu mina allāhi yawmaʾidhin yaṣṣaddaʿūna But set thou thy face to the right Religion before there come from Allah the Day which there is no chance of averting: on that Day shall men be divided (in two). |
(30:55) | وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُقْسِمُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُوا۟ غَيْرَ سَاعَةٍ كَذَٰلِكَ كَانُوا۟ يُؤْفَكُونَ | wa‑yawma taqūmu l‑sāʿatu yuqsimu l‑mujrimūna mā labithū ghayra sāʿatin ka‑dhālika kānū yuʾfakūna | On the Day that the Hour (of Reckoning) will be established,
the transgressors will swear that they tarried not but an hour: thus were
they used to being deluded!
Sura al-Rūm 30:55 وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُقْسِمُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُوا۟ غَيْرَ سَاعَةٍ كَذَٰلِكَ كَانُوا۟ يُؤْفَكُونَ wa-yawma taqūmu l-sāʿatu yuqsimu l-mujrimūna mā labithū ghayra sāʿatin ka-dhālika kānū yuʾfakūna On the Day that the Hour (of Reckoning) will be established, the transgressors will swear that they tarried not but an hour: thus were they used to being deluded! |
(31:17) | يَٰبُنَىَّ أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱنْهَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَكَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ | yā‑bunayya aqimi l‑ṣalāta wa‑ʾmur bil‑maʿrūfi wa‑anha ʿani l‑munkari wa‑iṣbir ʿalā mā aṣābaka inna dhālika min ʿazmi l‑umūri | "O my son! establish regular prayer, enjoin what is just, and
forbid what is wrong: and bear with patient constancy whatever betide thee;
for this is firmness (of purpose) in (the conduct of) affairs.
Sura Luqmān 31:17 يَٰبُنَىَّ أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱنْهَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَكَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ yā-bunayya aqimi l-ṣalāta wa-ʾmur bil-maʿrūfi wa-anha ʿani l-munkari wa-iṣbir ʿalā mā aṣābaka inna dhālika min ʿazmi l-umūri "O my son! establish regular prayer, enjoin what is just, and forbid what is wrong: and bear with patient constancy whatever betide thee; for this is firmness (of purpose) in (the conduct of) affairs. |
(40:46) | ٱلنَّارُ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا غُدُوًّا وَعَشِيًّا وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوٓا۟ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ ٱلْعَذَابِ | l‑nāru yuʿraḍūna ʿalayhā ghuduwwan wa‑ʿashiyyan wa‑yawma taqūmu l‑sāʿatu adkhilū āla firʿawna ashadda l‑ʿadhābi | In front of the Fire will they be brought, morning and
evening: And (the sentence will be) on the Day that Judgment will be
established: "Cast ye the People of Pharaoh into the severest Penalty!"
Sura al-Ghāfir 40:46 ٱلنَّارُ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا غُدُوًّا وَعَشِيًّا وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوٓا۟ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ ٱلْعَذَابِ l-nāru yuʿraḍūna ʿalayhā ghuduwwan wa-ʿashiyyan wa-yawma taqūmu l-sāʿatu adkhilū āla firʿawna ashadda l-ʿadhābi In front of the Fire will they be brought, morning and evening: And (the sentence will be) on the Day that Judgment will be established: "Cast ye the People of Pharaoh into the severest Penalty!" |
(40:51) | إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْأَشْهَٰدُ | innā la‑nanṣuru rusulanā wa‑lladhīna āmanū fī l‑ḥayāti l‑dunyā wa‑yawma yaqūmu l‑ashhādu | We will, without doubt, help our messengers and those who
believe, (both) in this world's life and on the Day when the Witnesses will
stand forth,-
Sura al-Ghāfir 40:51 إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْأَشْهَٰدُ innā la-nanṣuru rusulanā wa-lladhīna āmanū fī l-ḥayāti l-dunyā wa-yawma yaqūmu l-ashhādu We will, without doubt, help our messengers and those who believe, (both) in this world's life and on the Day when the Witnesses will stand forth,- |
(42:15) | فَلِذَٰلِكَ فَٱدْعُ وَٱسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ أُمِرْتَ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَقُلْ ءَامَنتُ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ مِن كِتَٰبٍ وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَعْدِلَ بَيْنَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ لَنَآ أَعْمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ | fa‑li‑dhālika fa‑idʿu wa‑istaqim ka‑mā umirta wa‑lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾahum wa‑qul āmantu bimā anzala allāhu min kitābin wa‑umirtu li‑aʿdila baynakumu allāhu rabbunā wa‑rabbukum lanā aʿmālunā wa‑lakum aʿmālukum lā ḥujjata baynanā wa‑baynakumu allāhu yajmaʿu baynanā wa‑ilayhi l‑maṣīru | Now then, for that (reason), call (them to the Faith), and
stand steadfast as thou art commanded, nor follow thou their vain desires;
but say: "I believe in the Book which Allah has sent down; and I am commanded
to judge justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord: for us (is the
responsibility for) our deeds, and for you for your deeds. There is no
contention between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is
(our) Final Goal.
Sura al-Shūrā 42:15 فَلِذَٰلِكَ فَٱدْعُ وَٱسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ أُمِرْتَ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَقُلْ ءَامَنتُ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ مِن كِتَٰبٍ وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَعْدِلَ بَيْنَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ لَنَآ أَعْمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ fa-li-dhālika fa-idʿu wa-istaqim ka-mā umirta wa-lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾahum wa-qul āmantu bimā anzala allāhu min kitābin wa-umirtu li-aʿdila baynakumu allāhu rabbunā wa-rabbukum lanā aʿmālunā wa-lakum aʿmālukum lā ḥujjata baynanā wa-baynakumu allāhu yajmaʿu baynanā wa-ilayhi l-maṣīru Now then, for that (reason), call (them to the Faith), and stand steadfast as thou art commanded, nor follow thou their vain desires; but say: "I believe in the Book which Allah has sent down; and I am commanded to judge justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord: for us (is the responsibility for) our deeds, and for you for your deeds. There is no contention between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is (our) Final Goal. |
(45:27) | وَلِلَّەِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ | wa‑lillahi mulku l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi wa‑yawma taqūmu l‑sāʿatu yawmaʾidhin yakhsaru l‑mubṭilūna | To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and
the Day that the Hour of Judgment is established,- that Day will the
dealers in Falsehood perish!
Sura al-Jāthiyah 45:27 وَلِلَّەِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ wa-lillahi mulku l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-yawma taqūmu l-sāʿatu yawmaʾidhin yakhsaru l-mubṭilūna To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and the Day that the Hour of Judgment is established,- that Day will the dealers in Falsehood perish! |
(52:48) | وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ | wa‑iṣbir li‑ḥukmi rabbika fa‑innaka bi‑aʿyuninā wa‑sabbiḥ bi‑ḥamdi rabbika ḥīna taqūmu | Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou
art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou
standest forth,
Sura al-Ṭūr 52:48 وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ wa-iṣbir li-ḥukmi rabbika fa-innaka bi-aʿyuninā wa-sabbiḥ bi-ḥamdi rabbika ḥīna taqūmu Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, |
(57:25) | لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَنزَلْنَا مَعَهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ ٱلنَّاسُ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَأَنزَلْنَا ٱلْحَدِيدَ فِيهِ بَأْسٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱللَّـهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُۥ وَرُسُلَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ قَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌ | la‑qad arsalnā rusulanā bil‑bayyināti wa‑anzalnā maʿahumu l‑kitāba wa‑l‑mīzāna li‑yaqūma l‑nāsu bil‑qisṭi wa‑anzalnā l‑ḥadīda fīhi basun shadīdun wa‑manāfiʿu lil‑nāsi wa‑li‑yaʿlama allāhu man yanṣuruhu wa‑rusulahu bil‑ghaybi inna allāha qawiyyun ʿazīzun | We sent aforetime our messengers with Clear Signs and sent down
with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand
forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty
war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that
will help, Unseen, Him and His messengers: For Allah is Full of Strength,
Exalted in Might (and able to enforce His Will).
Sura al-Ḥadīd 57:25 لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَنزَلْنَا مَعَهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ ٱلنَّاسُ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَأَنزَلْنَا ٱلْحَدِيدَ فِيهِ بَأْسٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱللَّـهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُۥ وَرُسُلَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ قَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌ la-qad arsalnā rusulanā bil-bayyināti wa-anzalnā maʿahumu l-kitāba wa-l-mīzāna li-yaqūma l-nāsu bil-qisṭi wa-anzalnā l-ḥadīda fīhi basun shadīdun wa-manāfiʿu lil-nāsi wa-li-yaʿlama allāhu man yanṣuruhu wa-rusulahu bil-ghaybi inna allāha qawiyyun ʿazīzun We sent aforetime our messengers with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help, Unseen, Him and His messengers: For Allah is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might (and able to enforce His Will). |
(72:19) | وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ ٱللَّـهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا۟ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا | wa‑annahu lammā qāma ʿabdu allāhi yadʿūhu kādū yakūnūna ʿalayhi libadan | "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they
just make round him a dense crowd."
Sura al-Jinn 72:19 وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ ٱللَّـهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا۟ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا wa-annahu lammā qāma ʿabdu allāhi yadʿūhu kādū yakūnūna ʿalayhi libadan "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." |
(73:2) | قُمِ ٱلَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا | qumi l‑layla illā qalīlan | Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,-

(73:20) | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَىِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُۥ وَثُلُثَهُۥ وَطَآئِفَةٌ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَكَ وَٱللَّـهُ يُقَدِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَىٰ وَءَاخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَءَاخَرُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌۢ | inna rabbaka yaʿlamu annaka taqūmu adnā min thuluthai l‑layli wa‑niṣfahu wa‑thuluthahu wa‑ṭāifatun mina lladhīna maʿaka wallāhu yuqaddiru l‑layla wa‑l‑nahāra ʿalima an lan tuḥṣūhu fatāba ʿalaykum fa‑iqraʾū mā tayassara mina l‑qurʾāni ʿalima an sa‑yakūnu minkum marḍā wa‑ākharūna yaḍribūna fī l‑arḍi yabtaghūna min faḍli allāhi wa‑ākharūna yuqātilūna fī sabīli allāhi fa‑iqraʾū mā tayassara minhu wa‑aqīmū l‑ṣalāta wa‑ātū l‑zakāta wa‑aqriḍū allāha qarḍan ḥasanan wa‑mā tuqaddimū li‑anfusikum min khayrin tajidūhu ʿinda allāhi huwa khayran wa‑aʿẓama ajran wa‑astaghfirū allāha inna allāha ghafūrun rraḥīmun | Thy Lord doth know that thou standest forth (to prayer) nigh
two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so
doth a party of those with thee. But Allah doth appoint night and day in due
measure He knoweth that ye are unable to keep count thereof. So He hath
turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur'an as much as may
be easy for you. He knoweth that there may be (some) among you in
ill-health; others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah's bounty;
yet others fighting in Allah's Cause, read ye, therefore, as much of the
Qur'an as may be easy (for you); and establish regular Prayer and give
regular Charity; and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan. And whatever good ye
send forth for your souls ye shall find it in Allah's Presence,- yea, better
and greater, in Reward and seek ye the Grace of Allah: for Allah is
Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Sura al-Muzzammil 73:20 إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَىِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُۥ وَثُلُثَهُۥ وَطَآئِفَةٌ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَكَ وَٱللَّـهُ يُقَدِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَىٰ وَءَاخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَءَاخَرُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌۢ inna rabbaka yaʿlamu annaka taqūmu adnā min thuluthai l-layli wa-niṣfahu wa-thuluthahu wa-ṭāifatun mina lladhīna maʿaka wallāhu yuqaddiru l-layla wa-l-nahāra ʿalima an lan tuḥṣūhu fatāba ʿalaykum fa-iqraʾū mā tayassara mina l-qurʾāni ʿalima an sa-yakūnu minkum marḍā wa-ākharūna yaḍribūna fī l-arḍi yabtaghūna min faḍli allāhi wa-ākharūna yuqātilūna fī sabīli allāhi fa-iqraʾū mā tayassara minhu wa-aqīmū l-ṣalāta wa-ātū l-zakāta wa-aqriḍū allāha qarḍan ḥasanan wa-mā tuqaddimū li-anfusikum min khayrin tajidūhu ʿinda allāhi huwa khayran wa-aʿẓama ajran wa-astaghfirū allāha inna allāha ghafūrun rraḥīmun Thy Lord doth know that thou standest forth (to prayer) nigh two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so doth a party of those with thee. (74:2) | قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ | qum fa‑andhir | Arise and deliver thy warning!
Sura al-Muddaththir 74:2 قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ qum fa-andhir Arise and deliver thy warning! |
(78:38) | يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا | yawma yaqūmu l‑rūḥu wa‑l‑malāʾikatu ṣaffan lā yatakallamūna illā man adhina lahu l‑raḥmānu wa‑qāla ṣawāban | The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in
ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious,
and He will say what is right.
Sura al-Nabaʾ 78:38 يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا yawma yaqūmu l-rūḥu wa-l-malāʾikatu ṣaffan lā yatakallamūna illā man adhina lahu l-raḥmānu wa-qāla ṣawāban The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right. |
(81:28) | لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ | li‑man shāʾa minkum an yastaqīma | (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight:
Sura al-Takwīr 81:28 لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ li-man shāʾa minkum an yastaqīma (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: |
(83:6) | يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | yawma yaqūmu l‑nāsu li‑rabbi l‑ʿālamīna | A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the
Worlds?
Sura al-Muṭaffifīn 83:6 يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ yawma yaqūmu l-nāsu li-rabbi l-ʿālamīna A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? |
