Sura al-Baqara 2:10

فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ مَرَضًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ

fī qulūbihim maraḍun fazādahumu allāhu maraḍan wa-lahum ʿadhābun alīmun bi-mā kānū yakdhibūna

In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves).

Sura al-Baqara 2:39

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

wa-lladhīna kafarū wa-kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā ulāʾika aṣḥābu l-nāri hum fīhā khālidūna

"But those who reject Faith and belie Our Signs, they shall be companions of the Fire; they shall abide therein."

Sura al-Baqara 2:87

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ بِٱلرُّسُلِ وَءَاتَيْنَا عِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَيَّدْنَٰهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلْقُدُسِ أَفَكُلَّمَا جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَىٰٓ أَنفُسُكُمُ ٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ فَفَرِيقًا كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيقًا تَقْتُلُونَ

wa-la-qad ātaynā mūsā l-kitāba wa-qaffaynā min baʿdihi bil-rusuli wa-ātaynā ʿīsā ibna maryama l-bayyināti wa-ayyadnāhu bi-rūḥi l-qudusi afakullamā jāʾakum rasūlun bi-mā lā tahwā anfusukumu astakbartum fa-farīqan kadhdhabtum wa-farīqan taqtulūna

We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of messengers; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the holy spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you a messenger with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride?- Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay!

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:11

كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّـهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

ka-daʾbi āli firʿawna wa-lladhīna min qablihim kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā fa-akhadhahumu allāhu bi-dhunūbihim wallāhu shadīdu l-ʿiqābi

(Their plight will be) no better than that of the people of Pharaoh, and their predecessors: They denied our Signs, and Allah called them to account for their sins. For Allah is strict in punishment.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:184

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآءُو بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُنِيرِ

fa-in kadhdhabūka fa-qad kudhdhiba rusulun min qablika jāʾū bil-bayyināti wa-l-zuburi wa-l-kitābi l-munīri

Then if they reject thee, so were rejected messengers before thee, who came with Clear Signs, Books of dark prophecies, and the Book of Enlightenment.

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:10

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

wa-lladhīna kafarū wa-kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā ulāʾika aṣḥābu l-jaḥīmi

Those who reject faith and deny our signs will be companions of Hell-fire.

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:70

لَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ رُسُلًا كُلَّمَا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَىٰٓ أَنفُسُهُمْ فَرِيقًا كَذَّبُوا۟ وَفَرِيقًا يَقْتُلُونَ

la-qad akhadhnā mīthāqa banī isrāʾīla wa-arsalnā ilayhim rusulan kullamā jāʾahum rasūlun bi-mā lā tahwā anfusuhum farīqan kadhdhabū wa-farīqan yaqtulūna

We took the covenant of the Children of Israel and sent them messengers, every time, there came to them a messenger with what they themselves desired not - some (of these) they called impostors, and some they (go so far as to) slay.

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:86

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

wa-lladhīna kafarū wa-kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā ulāʾika aṣḥābu l-jaḥīmi

But those who reject Faith and belie our Signs,- they shall be companions of Hell-fire.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:5

فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

fa-qad kadhdhabū bil-ḥaqqi lammā jāʾahum fa-sawfa yaʾtīhim anbāʾu mā kānū bihi yastahziʾūna

And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:21

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

wa-man aẓlamu mimmani iftarā ʿalā allāhi kadhiban aw kadhdhaba bi-āyātihi innahu lā yufliḥu l-ẓālimūna

Who doth more wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah or rejecteth His signs? But verily the wrong-doers never shall prosper.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:24

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

inẓur kayfa kadhabū ʿala anfusihim wa-ḍalla ʿanhum mā kānū yaftarūna

Behold! how they lie against their own souls! But the (lie) which they invented will leave them in the lurch.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:27

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذْ وُقِفُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ فَقَالُوا۟ يَٰلَيْتَنَا نُرَدُّ وَلَا نُكَذِّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّنَا وَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa-law tara idh wuqifū ʿalā l-nāri fa-qālū yā-laytanā nuraddu wa-lā nukadhdhiba bi-āyāti rabbinā wa-nakūna mina l-muʾminīna

If thou couldst but see when they are confronted with the Fire! They will say: "Would that we were but sent back! Then would we not reject the signs of our Lord, but would be amongst those who believe!"

Sura al-Anʿām 6:31

قَدْ خَسِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱللَّـهِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً قَالُوا۟ يَٰحَسْرَتَنَا عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطْنَا فِيهَا وَهُمْ يَحْمِلُونَ أَوْزَارَهُمْ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِمْ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ

qad khasira lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-liqāʾi allāhi ḥatta idhā jāʾathumu l-sāʿatu baghtatan qālū yāḥasratanā ʿalā mā farraṭnā fīhā wa-hum yaḥmilūna awzārahum ʿalā ẓuhūrihim āla sāa mā yazirūna

Lost indeed are they who treat it as a falsehood that they must meet Allah,- until on a sudden the hour is on them, and they say: "Ah! woe unto us that we took no thought of it"; for they bear their burdens on their backs, and evil indeed are the burdens that they bear?

Sura al-Anʿām 6:33

قَدْ نَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيَحْزُنُكَ ٱلَّذِى يَقُولُونَ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ يَجْحَدُونَ

qad naʿlamu innahu layaḥzunuka alladhī yaqūlūna fainnahum lā yukadhdhibūnaka wa-lākinna l-ẓālimīna bi-āyāti allāhi yajḥadūna

We know indeed the grief which their words do cause thee: It is not thee they reject: it is the signs of Allah, which the wicked contemn.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:34

وَلَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَصَبَرُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا كُذِّبُوا۟ وَأُوذُوا۟ حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰهُمْ نَصْرُنَا وَلَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكَ مِن نَّبَإِى۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

wa-la-qad kudhdhibat rusulun min qablika fa-ṣabarū ʿalā mā kudhdhibū wa-ūdhū ḥatta atāhum naṣrunā wa-lā mubaddila li-kalimāti allāhi wa-la-qad jāʾaka min nabaʾi l-mursalīna

Rejected were the messengers before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs, until Our aid did reach them: there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah. Already hast thou received some account of those messengers.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:39

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا صُمٌّ وَبُكْمٌ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ مَن يَشَإِ ٱللَّـهُ يُضْلِلْهُ وَمَن يَشَأْ يَجْعَلْهُ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

wa-lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā ṣummun wa-bukmun fī l-ẓulumāti man yashaʾi allāhu yuḍlilhu wa-man yashaʾ yajʿalhu ʿalā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin

Those who reject our signs are deaf and dumb,- in the midst of darkness profound: whom Allah willeth, He leaveth to wander: whom He willeth, He placeth on the way that is straight.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:49

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَمَسُّهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ

wa-lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā yamassuhumu l-ʿadhābu bi-mā kānū yafsuqūna

But those who reject our signs,- them shall punishment touch, for that they ceased not from transgressing.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:57

قُلْ إِنِّى عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَكَذَّبْتُم بِهِۦ مَا عِندِى مَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِهِۦٓ إِنِ ٱلْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّـهِ يَقُصُّ ٱلْحَقَّ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَٰصِلِينَ

qul innī ʿalā bayyinatin min rrabbī wa-kadhdhabtum bihi mā ʿindī mā tastaʿjilūna bihi ini l-ḥukmu illā lillāhi yaquṣṣu l-ḥaqqa wa-huwa khayru l-fāṣilīna

Say: "For me, I (work) on a clear sign from my Lord, but ye reject Him. What ye would see hastened, is not in my power. The command rests with none but Allah: He declares the truth, and He is the best of judges."

Sura al-Anʿām 6:66

وَكَذَّبَ بِهِۦ قَوْمُكَ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ قُل لَّسْتُ عَلَيْكُم بِوَكِيلٍ

wa-kadhdhaba bihi qawmuka wa-huwa l-ḥaqqu qul lastu ʿalaykum bi-wakīlin

But thy people reject this, though it is the truth. Say: "Not mine is the responsibility for arranging your affairs;

Sura al-Anʿām 6:147

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل رَّبُّكُمْ ذُو رَحْمَةٍ وَٰسِعَةٍ وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

fa-in kadhdhabūka faqul rrabbukum dhū raḥmatin wāsiʿatin wa-lā yuraddu basuhu ʿani l-qawmi l-mujrimīna

If they accuse thee of falsehood, say: "Your Lord is full of mercy all-embracing; but from people in guilt never will His wrath be turned back.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:148

سَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ مَآ أَشْرَكْنَا وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن شَىْءٍ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ ذَاقُوا۟ بَأْسَنَا قُلْ هَلْ عِندَكُم مِّنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَآ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَخْرُصُونَ

sa-yaqūlu lladhīna ashrakū law shāʾa allāhu mā ashraknā wa-lā ābāʾunā wa-lā ḥarramnā min shayʾin ka-dhālika kadhdhaba lladhīna min qablihim ḥattā dhāqū baʾsanā qul hal ʿindakum min ʿilmin fa-tukhrijūhu lanā in tattabiʿūna illā l-ẓanna wa-in antum illā takhruṣūna

Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos." So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie."

Sura al-Anʿām 6:150

قُلْ هَلُمَّ شُهَدَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ حَرَّمَ هَٰذَا فَإِن شَهِدُوا۟ فَلَا تَشْهَدْ مَعَهُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ

qul halumma shuhadāʾakumu lladhīna yashhadūna annā allāha ḥarrama hādhā fa-in shahidū fa-lā tashhad maʿahum wa-lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾa lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-lladhīna lā yuʾminūna bil-akhirati wa-hum bi-rabbihim yaʿdilūna

Say: "Bring forward your witnesses to prove that Allah did forbid so and so." If they bring such witnesses, be not thou amongst them: Nor follow thou the vain desires of such as treat our signs as falsehoods, and such as believe not in the Hereafter: for they hold others as equal with their Guardian-Lord.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:157

أَوْ تَقُولُوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ لَكُنَّآ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمْ فَقَدْ جَآءَكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ وَصَدَفَ عَنْهَا سَنَجْزِى ٱلَّذِينَ يَصْدِفُونَ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَصْدِفُونَ

aw taqūlū law annā unzila ʿalaynā l-kitābu la-kunnā ahdā minhum fa-qad jāʾakum bayyinatun min rabbikum wa-hudan wa-raḥmatun fa-man aẓlamu mimman kadhdhaba bi-āyāti allāhi wa-ṣadafa ʿanhā sanajzī lladhīna yaṣdifūna ʿan āyātinā suʾa l-ʿadhābi bi-mā kānū yaṣdifūna

Or lest ye should say: "If the Book had only been sent down to us, we should have followed its guidance better than they." Now then hath come unto you a clear (sign) from your Lord,- and a guide and a mercy: then who could do more wrong than one who rejecteth Allah's signs, and turneth away therefrom? In good time shall We requite those who turn away from Our signs, with a dreadful penalty, for their turning away.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:36

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

wa-lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-istakbarū ʿanhā ulāʾika aṣḥābu l-nāri hum fīhā khālidūna

But those who reject Our signs and treat them with arrogance,- they are companions of the Fire, to dwell therein (for ever).

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:37

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَٰفِرِينَ

fa-man aẓlamu mimmani iftarā ʿalā allāhi kadhiban aw kadhdhaba bi-āyātihi ulāʾika yanāluhum naṣībuhum mina l-kitābi ḥatta idhā jāʾathum rusulunā yatawaffawnahum qālū ayna mā kuntum tadʿūna min dūni allāhi qālū ḍallū ʿannā wa-shahidū ʿala anfusihim annahum kānū kāfirīna

Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or rejects His Signs? For such, their portion appointed must reach them from the Book (of decrees): until, when our messengers (of death) arrive and take their souls, they say: "Where are the things that ye used to invoke besides Allah?" They will reply, "They have left us in the lurch," And they will bear witness against themselves, that they had rejected Allah.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:40

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَٰبُ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ ٱلْجَمَلُ فِى سَمِّ ٱلْخِيَاطِ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

inna lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-istakbarū ʿanhā lā tufattaḥu lahum abwābu l-samāʾi wa-lā yadkhulūna l-jannata ḥattā yalija l-jamalu fī sammi l-khiyāṭi wa-ka-dhālika najzī l-mujrimīna

To those who reject Our signs and treat them with arrogance, no opening will there be of the gates of heaven, nor will they enter the garden, until the camel can pass through the eye of the needle: Such is Our reward for those in sin.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:64

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَمِينَ

fa-kadhdhabūhu fa-anjaynāhu wa-lladhīna maʿahu fī l-fulki wa-aghraqnā lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā innahum kānū qawman ʿamīna

But they rejected him, and We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark: but We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our signs. They were indeed a blind people!

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:72

فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ

fa-anjaynāhu wa-lladhīna maʿahu bi-raḥmaṭin minnā wa-qaṭaʿnā dābira lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-mā kānū muminīna

We saved him and those who adhered to him. By Our mercy, and We cut off the roots of those who rejected Our signs and did not believe.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:92

ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًا كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

lladhīna kadhdhabū shuʿayban ka-an lam yaghnaw fīhā lladhīna kadhdhabū shuʿayban kānū humu l-khāsirīna

The men who reject Shu'aib became as if they had never been in the homes where they had flourished: the men who rejected Shu'aib - it was they who were ruined!

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:96

وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبُوا۟ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

wa-law annā ahla al-qura āmanū wa-ittaqaw la-fataḥnā ʿalayhim barakātin mina l-samāʾi wa-l-arḍi wa-lākin kadhdhabū fa-akhadhnāhum bi-mā kānū yaksibūna

If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (All kinds of) blessings from heaven and earth; but they rejected (the truth), and We brought them to book for their misdeeds.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:101

تِلْكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآئِهَا وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

tilka l-qurā naquṣṣu ʿalayka min anbāʾihā wa-la-qad jāʾathum rusuluhum bil-bayyināti fa-mā kānū li-yuʾminū bi-mā kadhdhabū min qablu ka-dhālika yaṭbaʿu allāhu ʿalā qulūbi l-kāfirīna

Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:136

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ

fa-intaqamnā minhum fa-aghraqnāhum fī l-yammi bi-annahum kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-kānū ʿanhā ghāfilīna

So We exacted retribution from them: We drowned them in the sea, because they rejected Our Signs and failed to take warning from them.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:146

سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلْغَىِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ

saaṣrifu ʿan āyātīa lladhīna yatakabbarūna fī l-arḍi bi-ghayri l-ḥaqqi wa-in yaraw kulla āyatin lā yuʾminū bihā wa-in yaraw sabīla l-rushdi lā yattakhidhūhu sabīlan wa-in yaraw sabīla l-ghayyi yattakhidhūhu sabīlan dhālika bi-annahum kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-kānū ʿanhā ghāfilīna

Those who behave arrogantly on the earth in defiance of right - them will I turn away from My signs: Even if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them; and if they see the way of right conduct, they will not adopt it as the way; but if they see the way of error, that is the way they will adopt. For they have rejected our signs, and failed to take warning from them.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:147

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَلِقَآءِ ٱلْأَخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

wa-lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-liqāʾi l-akhirati ḥabiṭat aʿmāluhum hal yujzawna illā mā kānū yaʿmalūna

Those who reject Our signs and the meeting in the Hereafter,- vain are their deeds: Can they expect to be rewarded except as they have wrought?

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:176

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

wa-law shiʾnā la-rafaʿnāhu bihā wa-lā-kinnahu akhlada ilā l-arḍi wa-ittabaʿa hawahu fa-mathaluhu ka-mathali l-kalbi in taḥmil ʿalayhi yalhath aw tatrukhu yalhath dhālika mathalu l-qawmi lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā fa-iqṣuṣi l-qaṣaṣa la-ʿallahum yatafakkarūna

If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:177

سَآءَ مَثَلًا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَأَنفُسَهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ

sāa mathalan l-qawmu lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-anfusahum kānū yaẓlimūna

Evil as an example are people who reject Our signs and wrong their own souls.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:182

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

wa-lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā sa-nastadrijuhum min ḥaythu lā yaʿlamūna

Those who reject Our signs, We shall gradually visit with punishment, in ways they perceive not;

Sura al-Anfāl 8:54

كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَأَغْرَقْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَكُلٌّ كَانُوا۟ ظَٰلِمِينَ

ka-daʾbi āli firʿawna wa-lladhīna min qablihim kadhdhabū bi-āyāti rabbihim fa-ahlaknāhum bi-dhunūbihim wa-aghraqnā āla firʿawna wakullun kānū ẓālimīna

(Deeds) after the manner of the people of Pharaoh and those before them": They treated as false the Signs of their Lord: so We destroyed them for their crimes, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh: for they were all oppressors and wrong-doers.

Sura al-Tawbah 9:77

فَأَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفَاقًا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ بِمَآ أَخْلَفُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ مَا وَعَدُوهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ

fa-aʿqabahum nifāqan fī qulūbihim ilā yawmi yalqawnahu bimā akhlafū allāha mā waʿadūhu wa-bimā kānū yakdhibūna

So He hath put as a consequence hypocrisy into their hearts, (to last) till the Day, whereon they shall meet Him: because they broke their covenant with Allah, and because they lied (again and again).

Sura al-Tawbah 9:90

وَجَآءَ ٱلْمُعَذِّرُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ لِيُؤْذَنَ لَهُمْ وَقَعَدَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ سَيُصِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

wa-jāʾa l-muʿadhdhirūna mina l-aʿrābi li-yuʾdhana lahum wa-qaʿada lladhīna kadhabū allāha wa-rasūlahu sa-yuṣību lladhīna kafarū minhum ʿadhābun alīmun

And there were, among the desert Arabs (also), men who made excuses and came to claim exemption; and those who were false to Allah and His Messenger (merely) sat inactive. Soon will a grievous penalty seize the Unbelievers among them.

Sura Yūnus 10:17

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ

fa-man aẓlamu mimmani iftarā ʿalā allāhi kadhiban aw kadhdhaba bi-āyātihi innahu lā yufliḥu l-mujrimūna

Who doth more wrong than such as forge a lie against Allah, or deny His Signs? But never will prosper those who sin.

Sura Yūnus 10:39

بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يُحِيطُوا۟ بِعِلْمِهِۦ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِهِمْ تَأْوِيلُهُۥ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

bal kadhdhabū bi-mā lam yuḥīṭū biʿilmihi wa-lammā yaʾtihim taʾwīluhu ka-dhālika kadhdhaba lladhīna min qablihim fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-ẓālimīna

Nay, they charge with falsehood that whose knowledge they cannot compass, even before the elucidation thereof hath reached them: thus did those before them make charges of falsehood: but see what was the end of those who did wrong!

Sura Yūnus 10:41

وَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل لِّى عَمَلِى وَلَكُمْ عَمَلُكُمْ أَنتُم بَرِيٓـُٔونَ مِمَّآ أَعْمَلُ وَأَنَا۠ بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

wa-in kadhdhabūka faqul lī ʿamalī wa-lakum ʿamalukum antum barīʾūna mimmā iʿmalū wa-anā barīʾun mimmā taʿmalūna

If they charge thee with falsehood, say: "My work to me, and yours to you! ye are free from responsibility for what I do, and I for what ye do!"

Sura Yūnus 10:45

وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ كَأَن لَّمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّنَ ٱلنَّهَارِ يَتَعَارَفُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ قَدْ خَسِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ

wa-yawma yaḥshuruhum ka-an lam yalbathū illā sāʿatan mina l-nahāri yataʿārafūna baynahum qad khasira lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-liqāʾi allāhi wa-mā kānū muhtadīna

One day He will gather them together: (It will be) as if they had tarried but an hour of a day: they will recognise each other: assuredly those will be lost who denied the meeting with Allah and refused to receive true guidance.

Sura Yūnus 10:73

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ

fa-kadhdhabūhu fa-najjaynāhu wa-man maʿahu fī l-fulki wa-jaʿalnāhum khalāʾifa wa-aghraqnā lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mundharīna

They rejected Him, but We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark, and We made them inherit (the earth), while We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our Signs. Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not)!

Sura Yūnus 10:74

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ بِهِۦ مِن قَبْلُ كَذَٰلِكَ نَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ

thumma baʿathnā min baʿdihi rusulan ilā qawmihim fa-jāʾūhum bil-bayyināti fa-mā kānū li-yuʾminū bi-mā kadhdhabū bihi min qablu ka-dhālika naṭbaʿu ʿalā qulūbi l-muʿtadīna

Then after him We sent (many) messengers to their peoples: they brought them Clear Signs, but they would not believe what they had already rejected beforehand. Thus do We seal the hearts of the transgressors.

Sura Yūnus 10:95

وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

wa-lā takūnanna mina lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyāti allāhi fa-takūna mina l-khāsirīna

Nor be of those who reject the signs of Allah, or thou shalt be of those who perish.

Sura Hūd 11:18

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ كَذِبًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْأَشْهَٰدُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أَلَا لَعْنَةُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

wa-man aẓlamu mimmani iftarā ʿalā allāhi kadhiban ulāʾika yuʿraḍūna ʿalā rabbihim wa-yaqūlu l-ashhādu hāʾulāʾi lladhīna kadhabū ʿalā rabbihim āla laʿnatu allāhi ʿalā l-ẓālimīna

Who doth more wrong than those who invent a life against Allah? They will be turned back to the presence of their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied against their Lord! Behold! the Curse of Allah is on those who do wrong!-

Sura Yūsuf 12:27

وَإِن كَانَ قَمِيصُهُۥ قُدَّ مِن دُبُرٍ فَكَذَبَتْ وَهُوَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

wa-in kāna qamīṣuhu qudda min duburin fa-kadhabat wa-huwa mina l-ṣādiqīna

"But if it be that his shirt is torn from the back, then is she the liar, and he is telling the truth!"

Sura Yūsuf 12:110

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ٱسْتَيْـَٔسَ ٱلرُّسُلُ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ كُذِبُوا۟ جَآءَهُمْ نَصْرُنَا فَنُجِّىَ مَن نَّشَآءُ وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُنَا عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

ḥatta idhā istayʾasa l-rusulu wa-ẓannū annahum qad kudhibū jāʾahum naṣrunā fa-nujjiya man nashāʾu wa-lā yuraddu baʾsunā ʿani l-qawmi l-mujrimīna

(Respite will be granted) until, when the messengers give up hope (of their people) and (come to) think that they were treated as liars, there reaches them Our help, and those whom We will are delivered into safety. But never will be warded off our punishment from those who are in sin.
