(3:44) | ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يُلْقُونَ أَقْلَٰمَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ يَكْفُلُ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ | dhālika min anbāʾi l‑ghaybi nūḥīhi ilayka wa‑mā kunta ladayhim idh yulqūna aqlāmahum ayyuhum yakfulu maryama wa‑mā kunta ladayhim idh yakhtaṣimūna | This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We
reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when
they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the
care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point).

(20:40) | إِذْ تَمْشِىٓ أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن يَكْفُلُهُۥ فَرَجَعْنَٰكَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّكَ كَىْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا فَنَجَّيْنَٰكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّٰكَ فُتُونًا فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِىٓ أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرٍ يَٰمُوسَىٰ | idh tamshī ukhtuka fa‑taqūlu hal adullukum ʿalā man yakfuluhu farajaʿnāka ila ummika kay taqarra ʿaynuhā wa‑lā taḥzana wa‑qatalta nafsan fa‑najjaynāka mina l‑ghammi wa‑fatannāka futūnan fa‑labithta sinīna fī ahli madyana thumma jiʾta ʿalā qadarin yā‑mūsā | "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you
one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy
mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou
didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in
various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of
Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses!
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:40 إِذْ تَمْشِىٓ أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن يَكْفُلُهُۥ فَرَجَعْنَٰكَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّكَ كَىْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا فَنَجَّيْنَٰكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّٰكَ فُتُونًا فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِىٓ أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرٍ يَٰمُوسَىٰ idh tamshī ukhtuka fa-taqūlu hal adullukum ʿalā man yakfuluhu farajaʿnāka ila ummika kay taqarra ʿaynuhā wa-lā taḥzana wa-qatalta nafsan fa-najjaynāka mina l-ghammi wa-fatannāka futūnan fa-labithta sinīna fī ahli madyana thumma jiʾta ʿalā qadarin yā-mūsā "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' (28:12) | وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ ٱلْمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبْلُ فَقَالَتْ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَكْفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُۥ نَٰصِحُونَ | wa‑ḥarramnā ʿalayhi l‑marāḍiʿa min qablu faqālat hal adullukum ʿala ahli baytin yakfulūnahu la‑kum wa‑hum lahu nāṣiḥūna | And we ordained that he refused suck at first, until (His
sister came up and) said: "Shall I point out to you the people of a house
that will nourish and bring him up for you and be sincerely attached to
him?"...
Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:12 وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ ٱلْمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبْلُ فَقَالَتْ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَكْفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُۥ نَٰصِحُونَ wa-ḥarramnā ʿalayhi l-marāḍiʿa min qablu faqālat hal adullukum ʿala ahli baytin yakfulūnahu la-kum wa-hum lahu nāṣiḥūna And we ordained that he refused suck at first, until (His sister came up and) said: "Shall I point out to you the people of a house that will nourish and bring him up for you and be sincerely attached to him?"... |
