Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:118)

Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? or why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts).
(2:174)

Those who conceal Allah's revelations in the Book, and purchase for them a miserable profit,- they swallow into themselves naught but Fire; Allah will not address them on the Day of Resurrection. Nor purify them: Grievous will be their penalty.
(2:253)

تِلْكَ  ٱلرُّسُلُ  فَضَّلْنَا  بَعْضَهُمْ  عَلَىٰ  بَعْضٍ  مِّنْهُم  مَّن  كَلَّمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  وَرَفَعَ  بَعْضَهُمْ  دَرَجَٰتٍ  وَءَاتَيْنَا  عِيسَى  ٱبْنَ  مَرْيَمَ  ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ  وَأَيَّدْنَٰهُ  بِرُوحِ  ٱلْقُدُسِ  وَلَوْ  شَآءَ  ٱللَّـهُ  مَا  ٱقْتَتَلَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  مِنۢ  بَعْدِهِم  مِّنۢ  بَعْدِ  مَا  جَآءَتْهُمُ  ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ  وَلَٰكِنِ  ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟  فَمِنْهُم  مَّنْ  ءَامَنَ  وَمِنْهُم  مَّن  كَفَرَ  وَلَوْ  شَآءَ  ٱللَّـهُ  مَا  ٱقْتَتَلُوا۟  وَلَٰكِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  يَفْعَلُ  مَا  يُرِيدُ tilka l‑rusulu faḍḍalnā baʿḍahum ʿalā baʿḍin minhum man kallama allāhu wa‑rafaʿa baʿḍahum darajātin wa‑ātaynā ʿīsā ibna maryama l‑bayyināti wa‑ayyadnāhu bi‑rūḥi l‑qudusi wa‑law shāʾa allāhu qtatala lladhīna min baʿdihim min baʿdi jāʾathumu l‑bayyinātu wa‑lākini akhtalafū fa‑minhum man āmana wa‑minhum man kafara wa‑law shāʾa allāhu iqtatalū wa‑lākinna allāha yafʿalu yurīdu
Those messengers We endowed with gifts, some above others: To one of them Allah spoke; others He raised to degrees (of honour); to Jesus the son of Mary We gave clear (Signs), and strengthened him with the holy spirit. If Allah had so willed, succeeding generations would not have fought among each other, after clear (Signs) had come to them, but they (chose) to wrangle, some believing and others rejecting. If Allah had so willed, they would not have fought each other; but Allah Fulfilleth His plan.

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:41)

He said: "O my Lord! Give me a Sign!" "Thy Sign," was the answer, "Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three days but with signals. Then celebrate the praises of thy Lord again and again, and glorify Him in the evening and in the morning."
(3:46)

"He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. And he shall be (of the company) of the righteous."
(3:77)

As for those who sell the faith they owe to Allah and their own plighted word for a small price, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter: Nor will Allah (Deign to) speak to them or look at them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He cleans them (of sin): They shall have a grievous penalty.

Surah 4 al-Nisāʾ (The Women)
(4:164)

Of some messengers We have already told thee the story; of others We have not;- and to Moses Allah spoke direct;-

Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)
(5:110)

إِذْ  قَالَ  ٱللَّـهُ  يَٰعِيسَى  ٱبْنَ  مَرْيَمَ  ٱذْكُرْ  نِعْمَتِى  عَلَيْكَ  وَعَلَىٰ  وَٰلِدَتِكَ  إِذْ  أَيَّدتُّكَ  بِرُوحِ  ٱلْقُدُسِ  تُكَلِّمُ  ٱلنَّاسَ  فِى  ٱلْمَهْدِ  وَكَهْلًا  وَإِذْ  عَلَّمْتُكَ  ٱلْكِتَٰبَ  وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ  وَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ  وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ  وَإِذْ  تَخْلُقُ  مِنَ  ٱلطِّينِ  كَهَيْـَٔةِ  ٱلطَّيْرِ  بِإِذْنِى  فَتَنفُخُ  فِيهَا  فَتَكُونُ  طَيْرًۢا  بِإِذْنِى  وَتُبْرِئُ  ٱلْأَكْمَهَ  وَٱلْأَبْرَصَ  بِإِذْنِى  وَإِذْ  تُخْرِجُ  ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ  بِإِذْنِى  وَإِذْ  كَفَفْتُ  بَنِىٓ  إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ  عَنكَ  إِذْ  جِئْتَهُم  بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ  فَقَالَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  مِنْهُمْ  إِنْ  هَٰذَآ  إِلَّا  سِحْرٌ  مُّبِينٌ idh qalā allāhu yā‑ʿīsā ibna maryama adhkur niʿmatī ʿalayka wa‑ʿalā wālidatika idh ayyadttuka bi‑rūḥi l‑qudusi tukallimu l‑nāsa l‑mahdi wa‑kahlan wa‑idh ʿallamtuka l‑kitāba wa‑l‑ḥikmata wa‑l‑tawrata wa‑l‑injīla wa‑idh takhluqu mina l‑ṭīni kahayati l‑ṭayri bi‑idhnī fa‑tanfukhu fīhā fa‑takūnu ṭayran bi‑idhnī wa‑tubriʾu l‑akmaha wa‑l‑abraṣa bi‑idhnī wa‑idh tukhriju l‑mawtā bi‑idhnī wa‑idh kafaftu banī isrāʾīla ʿanka idh jiʾtahum bil‑bayyināti fa‑qāla lladhīna kafarū minhum in hādhā illā siḥrun mubīnun
Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Recount My favour to thee and to thy mother. Behold! I strengthened thee with the holy spirit, so that thou didst speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. Behold! I taught thee the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel and behold! thou makest out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My leave, and thou breathest into it and it becometh a bird by My leave, and thou healest those born blind, and the lepers, by My leave. And behold! thou bringest forth the dead by My leave. And behold! I did restrain the Children of Israel from (violence to) thee when thou didst show them the clear Signs, and the unbelievers among them said: 'This is nothing but evident magic.'

Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)
(6:111)

وَلَوْ  أَنَّنَا  نَزَّلْنَآ  إِلَيْهِمُ  ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ  وَكَلَّمَهُمُ  ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ  وَحَشَرْنَا  عَلَيْهِمْ  كُلَّ  شَىْءٍ  قُبُلًا  مَّا  كَانُوا۟  لِيُؤْمِنُوٓا۟  إِلَّآ  أَن  يَشَآءَ  ٱللَّـهُ  وَلَٰكِنَّ  أَكْثَرَهُمْ  يَجْهَلُونَ wa‑law annanā nazzalnā ilayhimu l‑malāikata wa‑kallamahumu l‑mawtā wa‑ḥasharnā ʿalayhim kulla shayʾin qubulan kānū li‑yuʾminū illā an yashāʾa allāhu wa‑lākinna aktharahum yajhalūna
Even if We did send unto them angels, and the dead did speak unto them, and We gathered together all things before their very eyes, they are not the ones to believe, unless it is in Allah's plan. But most of them ignore (the truth).

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:143)

When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: "O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee." Allah said: "By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look upon the mount; if it abide in its place, then shalt thou see Me." When his Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe."
(7:148)

وَٱتَّخَذَ  قَوْمُ  مُوسَىٰ  مِنۢ  بَعْدِهِۦ  مِنْ  حُلِيِّهِمْ  عِجْلًا  جَسَدًا  لَّهُۥ  خُوَارٌ  أَلَمْ  يَرَوْا۟  أَنَّهُۥ  لَا  يُكَلِّمُهُمْ  وَلَا  يَهْدِيهِمْ  سَبِيلًا  ٱتَّخَذُوهُ  وَكَانُوا۟  ظَٰلِمِينَ wa‑ittakhadha qawmu mūsā min baʿdihi min ḥuliyyihim ʿijlan jasadan lahu khuwārun a‑lam yaraw annahu yukallimuhum wa‑lā yahdīhim sabīlan ttakhadhūhu wakānū ẓālimīna
The people of Moses made, in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of calf, (for worship): it seemed to low: did they not see that it could neither speak to them, nor show them the way? They took it for worship and they did wrong.

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:105)

The day it arrives, no soul shall speak except by His leave: of those (gathered) some will be wretched and some will be blessed.

Surah 12 Yūsuf (Joseph)
(12:54)

وَقَالَ  ٱلْمَلِكُ  ٱئْتُونِى  بِهِۦٓ  أَسْتَخْلِصْهُ  لِنَفْسِى  فَلَمَّا  كَلَّمَهُۥ  قَالَ  إِنَّكَ  ٱلْيَوْمَ  لَدَيْنَا  مَكِينٌ  أَمِينٌ wa‑qāla l‑maliku iʾtūnī bihi astakhliṣhu li‑nafsī fa‑lammā kallamahu qalā innaka l‑yawma ladaynā makīnun amīnun
So the king said: "Bring him unto me; I will take him specially to serve about my own person." Therefore when he had spoken to him, he said: "Be assured this day, thou art, before our own presence, with rank firmly established, and fidelity fully proved!

Surah 13 al-Raʿd (The Thunder)
(13:31)

وَلَوْ  أَنَّ  قُرْءَانًا  سُيِّرَتْ  بِهِ  ٱلْجِبَالُ  أَوْ  قُطِّعَتْ  بِهِ  ٱلْأَرْضُ  أَوْ  كُلِّمَ  بِهِ  ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ  بَل  لِلَّـهِ  ٱلْأَمْرُ  جَمِيعًا  أَفَلَمْ  يَا۟يْـَٔسِ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوٓا۟  أَن  لَّوْ  يَشَآءُ  ٱللَّـهُ  لَهَدَى  ٱلنَّاسَ  جَمِيعًا  وَلَا  يَزَالُ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  تُصِيبُهُم  بِمَا  صَنَعُوا۟  قَارِعَةٌ  أَوْ  تَحُلُّ  قَرِيبًا  مِّن  دَارِهِمْ  حَتَّىٰ  يَأْتِىَ  وَعْدُ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَا  يُخْلِفُ  ٱلْمِيعَادَ wa‑law annā qurʾānan suyyirat bihi l‑jibālu aw quṭṭiʿaṭ bihi l‑arḍu aw kullima bihi l‑mawtā bal lillāhi l‑amru jamīʿan a‑fa‑lam yāyʾasi lladhīna āmanū an law yashāʾu allāhu la‑hadā l‑nāsa jamīʿan wa‑lā yazālu lladhīna kafarū tuṣībuhum bi‑mā ṣanaʿū qāriʿatun aw taḥullu qarīban min dārihim ḥattā yaʾtiya waʿdu allāhi inna allāha yukhlifu l‑mīʿāda
If there were a Qur'an with which mountains were moved, or the earth were cloven asunder, or the dead were made to speak, (this would be the one!) But, truly, the command is with Allah in all things! Do not the Believers know, that, had Allah (so) willed, He could have guided all mankind (to the right)? But the Unbelievers,- never will disaster cease to seize them for their (ill) deeds, or to settle close to their homes, until the promise of Allah come to pass, for, verily, Allah will not fail in His promise.

Surah 19 Maryam (Mary)
(19:10)

(Zakariya) said: "O my Lord! give me a Sign." "Thy Sign," was the answer, "Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three nights, although thou art not dumb."
(19:26)

"So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into not talk with any human being'"
(19:29)

فَأَشَارَتْ  إِلَيْهِ  قَالُوا۟  كَيْفَ  نُكَلِّمُ  مَن  كَانَ  فِى  ٱلْمَهْدِ  صَبِيًّا fa‑ashārat ilayhi qālū kayfa nukallimu man kāna l‑mahdi ṣabiyyan
But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"

Surah 23 al-Muʾminūn (The Believers)
(23:108)

Surah 24 al-Nūr (The Light)
(24:16)

وَلَوْلَآ  إِذْ  سَمِعْتُمُوهُ  قُلْتُم  مَّا  يَكُونُ  لَنَآ  أَن  نَّتَكَلَّمَ  بِهَٰذَا  سُبْحَٰنَكَ  هَٰذَا  بُهْتَٰنٌ  عَظِيمٌ wa‑lawlā idh samiʿtumūhu qultum yakūnu lanā an nnatakallama bi‑hādhā subḥānaka hādhā buhtānun ʿaẓīmun
And why did ye not, when ye heard it, say? - "It is not right of us to speak of this: Glory to Allah! this is a most serious slander!"

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:82)

وَإِذَا  وَقَعَ  ٱلْقَوْلُ  عَلَيْهِمْ  أَخْرَجْنَا  لَهُمْ  دَآبَّةً  مِّنَ  ٱلْأَرْضِ  تُكَلِّمُهُمْ  أَنَّ  ٱلنَّاسَ  كَانُوا۟  بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا  لَا  يُوقِنُونَ wa‑idhā waqaʿa l‑qawlu ʿalayhim akhrajnā lahum dābbatan mina l‑arḍi tukallimuhum annā l‑nāsa kānū bi‑āyātinā yūqinūna
And when the Word is fulfilled against them (the unjust), we shall produce from the earth a beast to (face) them: He will speak to them, for that mankind did not believe with assurance in Our Signs.

Surah 30 al-Rūm (The Romans)
(30:35)

Or have We sent down authority to them, which points out to them the things to which they pay part-worship?

Surah 36 Yā Sin (Ya Sin)
(36:65)

That Day shall We set a seal on their mouths. But their hands will speak to us, and their feet bear witness, to all that they did.

Surah 42 al-Shūrā (The Counsel)
(42:51)

وَمَا  كَانَ  لِبَشَرٍ  أَن  يُكَلِّمَهُ  ٱللَّـهُ  إِلَّا  وَحْيًا  أَوْ  مِن  وَرَآئِ  حِجَابٍ  أَوْ  يُرْسِلَ  رَسُولًا  فَيُوحِىَ  بِإِذْنِهِۦ  مَا  يَشَآءُ  إِنَّهُۥ  عَلِىٌّ  حَكِيمٌ wa‑mā kāna li‑basharin an yukallimahu allāhu illā waḥyan aw min warāi ḥijābin aw yursila rasūlan fa‑yūḥiya bi‑idhnihi yashāʾu innahu ʿaliyyun ḥakīmun
It is not fitting for a man that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by the sending of a messenger to reveal, with Allah's permission, what Allah wills: for He is Most High, Most Wise.

Surah 78 al-Nabaʾ (The Tidings)
(78:38)

يَوْمَ  يَقُومُ  ٱلرُّوحُ  وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ  صَفًّا  لَّا  يَتَكَلَّمُونَ  إِلَّا  مَنْ  أَذِنَ  لَهُ  ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ  وَقَالَ  صَوَابًا yawma yaqūmu l‑rūḥu wa‑l‑malāʾikatu ṣaffan yatakallamūna illā man adhina lahu l‑raḥmānu wa‑qāla ṣawāban
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right.
