Sura al-Baqara 2:10

فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ مَرَضًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ

fī qulūbihim maraḍun fazādahumu allāhu maraḍan wa-lahum ʿadhābun alīmun bi-mā kānū yakdhibūna

In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves).

Sura al-Baqara 2:16

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَٰرَتُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ

ulāʾika lladhīna ishtarawu l-ḍalālata bil-hudā fa-mā rabiḥat tijāratuhum wa-mā kānū muhtadīna

These are they who have bartered Guidance for error: But their traffic is profitless, and they have lost true direction,

Sura al-Baqara 2:34

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِءَادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-idh qulnā lil-malāʾikati isjudū li-ādama fa-sajadū illā iblīsa aba wa-istakbara wa-kāna mina l-kāfirīna

And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam" and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.

Sura al-Baqara 2:36

فَأَزَلَّهُمَا ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ عَنْهَا فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا مِمَّا كَانَا فِيهِ وَقُلْنَا ٱهْبِطُوا۟ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

fa-azallahumā l-shayṭānu ʿanhā fa-akhrajahumā mimmā kānā fīhi wa-qulnā ahbiṭū baʿḍukum li-baʿḍin ʿaduwwun wa-lakum fī l-arḍi mustaqarrun wa-matāʿun ilā ḥīnin

Then did Satan make them slip from the (garden), and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been. We said: "Get ye down, all (ye people), with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood - for a time."

Sura al-Baqara 2:57

وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْغَمَامَ وَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ كُلُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

wa-ẓallalnā ʿalaykumu l-ghamāma wa-anzalnā ʿalaykumu l-manna wa-l-salwā kulū min ṭayyibāti mā razaqnākum wa-mā ẓalamūnā wa-lākin kānū anfusahum yaẓlimūna

And We gave you the shade of clouds and sent down to you Manna and quails, saying: "Eat of the good things We have provided for you:" (But they rebelled); to us they did no harm, but they harmed their own souls.

Sura al-Baqara 2:59

فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ رِجْزًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ

fa-baddala lladhīna ẓalamū qawlan ghayra alladhī qīla lahum fa-anzalnā ʿalā lladhīna ẓalamū rijzan mina l-samāʾi bi-mā kānū yafsuqūna

But the transgressors changed the word from that which had been given them; so We sent on the transgressors a plague from heaven, for that they infringed (Our command) repeatedly.

Sura al-Baqara 2:61

وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامٍ وَٰحِدٍ فَٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنۢ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّآئِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ ٱلَّذِى هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ خَيْرٌ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِصْرًا فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ وَٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا۟ وَّكَانُوا۟ يَعْتَدُونَ

wa-idh qultum yā-mūsā lan naṣbira ʿalā ṭaʿāmin wāḥidin fa-idʿu la-nā rabbaka yukhrij la-nā mimmā tunbitu l-arḍu min baqlihā wa-qiththāʾihā wa-fūmihā wa-ʿadasihā wa-baṣalihā qalā atastabdilūna alladhī huwa adnā bi-lladhī huwa khayrun ahbiṭū miṣran fa-inna la-kum mā saʾaltum waḍuribat ʿalayhimu l-dhillatu wa-l-maskanatu wa-bāʾū bighaḍabin mina allāhi dhālika bi-annahum kānū yakfurūna bi-āyāti allāhi wa-yaqtulūna l-nabiyyina bi-ghayri l-ḥaqqi dhālika bi-mā ʿaṣaw wa-kānū yaʿtadūna

And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" They were covered with humiliation and misery; they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah. This because they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah and slaying His Messengers without just cause. This because they rebelled and went on transgressing.

Sura al-Baqara 2:75

أَفَتَطْمَعُونَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ لَكُمْ وَقَدْ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّـهِ ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُونَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا عَقَلُوهُ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

afataṭmaʿūna an yuʾminū la-kum wa-qad kāna farīqun minhum yasmaʿūna kalāma allāhi thumma yuḥarrifūnahu min baʿdi mā ʿaqalūhu wa-hum yaʿlamūna

Can ye (o ye men of Faith) entertain the hope that they will believe in you?- Seeing that a party of them heard the Word of Allah, and perverted it knowingly after they understood it.

Sura al-Baqara 2:89

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ كِتَٰبٌ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّـهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم مَّا عَرَفُوا۟ كَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَلَعْنَةُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-lammā jāʾahum kitābun min ʿindi allāhi muṣaddiqun li-mā maʿahum wa-kānū min qablu yastaftiḥūna ʿalā lladhīna kafarū fa-lammā jāʾahum mā ʿarafū kafarū bihi falaʿnatu allāhi ʿalā l-kāfirīna

And when there comes to them a Book from Allah, confirming what is with them,- although from of old they had prayed for victory against those without Faith,- when there comes to them that which they (should) have recognised, they refuse to believe in it but the curse of Allah is on those without Faith.

Sura al-Baqara 2:94

قُلْ إِن كَانَتْ لَكُمُ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلْأَخِرَةُ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ خَالِصَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا۟ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

qul in kānat lakumu l-dāru l-akhiratu ʿinda allāhi khāliṣatan min dūni l-nāsi fa-tamannawu l-mawtā in kuntum ṣādiqīna

Say: "If the last Home, with Allah, be for you specially, and not for anyone else, then seek ye for death, if ye are sincere."

Sura al-Baqara 2:97

قُلْ مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِّجِبْرِيلَ فَإِنَّهُۥ نَزَّلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

qul man kāna ʿadūwan li-jibrīla fa-innahu nazzalahu ʿalā qalbika bi-idhni allāhi muṣaddiqan li-mā bayna yadayhi wa-hudan wa-bushrā lil-muʾminīna

Say: Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel-for he brings down the (revelation) to thy heart by Allah's will, a confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings for those who believe,-

Sura al-Baqara 2:98

مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِلَّـهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَجِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَىٰلَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَدُوٌّ لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ

man kāna ʿadūwan lillāhi wa-malāʾikatihi wa-rusulihi wa-jibrīla wa-mīkāla fa-inna allāha ʿaduwwun lil-kāfirīna

Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and messengers, to Gabriel and Michael,- Lo! Allah is an enemy to those who reject Faith.

Sura al-Baqara 2:102

وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَا تَتْلُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ عَلَىٰ مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَٰرُوتَ وَمَٰرُوتَ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَآ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌ فَلَا تَكْفُرْ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِۦ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِۦ وَمَا هُم بِضَآرِّينَ بِهِۦ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمُوا۟ لَمَنِ ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلَٰقٍ وَلَبِئْسَ مَا شَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنفُسَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ

wa-ittabaʿū mā tatlū l-shayāṭīnu ʿalā mulki sulaymāna wa-mā kafara sulaymānu wa-lākinna l-shayāṭīna kafarū yuʿallimūna l-nāsa l-siḥra wa-mā unzila ʿalā l-malakayni bi-bābila hārūta wa-mārūta wa-mā yuʿallimāni min aḥadin ḥattā yaqūlā innamā naḥnu fitnatun fa-lā takfur fa-yataʿallamūna minhumā mā yufarriqūna bihi bayna l-mari wa-zawjihi wa-mā hum bi-ḍārrīna bihi min aḥadin illā bi-idhni allāhi wa-yataʿallamūna mā yaḍurruhum wa-lā yanfaʿuhum wa-la-qad ʿalimū lamani ishtarāhu mā lahu fī l-akhirati min khalāqin wa-la-biʾsa mā sharaw bihi anfusahum law kānū yaʿlamūna

They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones, teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without saying: "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them, not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!

Sura al-Baqara 2:103

وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَمَثُوبَةٌ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّـهِ خَيْرٌ لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ

wa-law annahum āmanū wa-ittaqaw la-mathūbatun min ʿindi allāhi khayrun law kānū yaʿlamūna

If they had kept their Faith and guarded themselves from evil, far better had been the reward from their Lord, if they but knew!

Sura al-Baqara 2:111

وَقَالُوا۟ لَن يَدْخُلَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَن كَانَ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ تِلْكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمْ قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

wa-qālū lan yadkhula l-jannata illā man kāna hūdan aw naṣārā tilka amānīyuhum qul hātū burhānakum in kuntum ṣādiqīna

And they say: "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful."

Sura al-Baqara 2:113

وَقَالَتِ ٱلْيَهُودُ لَيْسَتِ ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ لَيْسَتِ ٱلْيَهُودُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَهُمْ يَتْلُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ فَٱللَّـهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ

wa-qālati l-yahūdu laysati l-naṣārā ʿalā shayʾin wa-qālati l-naṣārā laysati l-yahūdu ʿalā shayʾin wa-hum yatlūna l-kitāba ka-dhālika qalā lladhīna lā yaʿlamūna mithla qawlihim fallāhu yaḥkumu baynahum yawma l-qiyāmati fī-mā kānū fīhi yakhtalifūna

The Jews say: "The Christians have naught (to stand) upon; and the Christians say: "The Jews have naught (To stand) upon." Yet they (Profess to) study the (same) Book. Like unto their word is what those say who know not; but Allah will judge between them in their quarrel on the Day of Judgment.

Sura al-Baqara 2:114

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن مَّنَعَ مَسَٰجِدَ ٱللَّـهِ أَن يُذْكَرَ فِيهَا ٱسْمُهُۥ وَسَعَىٰ فِى خَرَابِهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَا كَانَ لَهُمْ أَن يَدْخُلُوهَآ إِلَّا خَآئِفِينَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا خِزْىٌ وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

wa-man aẓlamu mimman manaʿa masājida allāhi an yudhkara fīhā ismuhu wa-saʿa fī kharābihā ulāʾika mā kāna lahum an yadkhulūhā illā khāʾifīna lahum fī l-dunyā khizun wa-lahum fī l-akhirati ʿadhābun ʿaẓīmun

And who is more unjust than he who forbids that in places for the worship of Allah, Allah's name should be celebrated?-whose zeal is (in fact) to ruin them? It was not fitting that such should themselves enter them except in fear. For them there is nothing but disgrace in this world, and in the world to come, an exceeding torment.

Sura al-Baqara 2:117

بَدِيعُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

badīʿu l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-idhā qaḍa amran fa-innamā yaqūlu lahu kun fa-yakūnu

To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: When He decreeth a matter, He saith to it: "Be," and it is.

Sura al-Baqara 2:134

تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

tilka ummatun qad khalat lahā mā kasabat wa-lakum mā kasabtum wa-lā tusʾalūna ʿammā kānū yaʿmalūna

That was a people that hath passed away. They shall reap the fruit of what they did, and ye of what ye do! Of their merits there is no question in your case!

Sura al-Baqara 2:135

وَقَالُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا۟ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

wa-qālū kūnū hūdan aw naṣārā tahtadū qul bal millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa-mā kāna mina l-mushrikīna

They say: "Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (To salvation)." Say thou: "Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the True, and he joined not gods with Allah."

Sura al-Baqara 2:140

أَمْ تَقُولُونَ إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطَ كَانُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ قُلْ ءَأَنتُمْ أَعْلَمُ أَمِ ٱللَّـهُ وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَتَمَ شَهَٰدَةً عِندَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَا ٱللَّـهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

am taqūlūna inna ibrāhīma wa-ismāʿīla wa-isḥāqa wa-yaʿqūba wa-l-asbāṭa kānū hūdan aw naṣārā qul aʾantum aʿlamu ami allāhu wa-man aẓlamu mimman katama shahādatan ʿindahu mina allāhi wa-mā allāhu bi-ghāfilin ʿammā taʿmalūna

Or do ye say that Abraham, Isma'il Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes were Jews or Christians? Say: Do ye know better than Allah? Ah! who is more unjust than those who conceal the testimony they have from Allah? but Allah is not unmindful of what ye do!

Sura al-Baqara 2:141

تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

tilka ummatun qad khalat lahā mā kasabat wa-lakum mā kasabtum wa-lā tusʾalūna ʿammā kānū yaʿmalūna

That was a people that hath passed away. They shall reap the fruit of what they did, and ye of what ye do! Of their merits there is no question in your case:

Sura al-Baqara 2:142

سَيَقُولُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَا وَلَّىٰهُمْ عَن قِبْلَتِهِمُ ٱلَّتِى كَانُوا۟ عَلَيْهَا قُل لِلَّـهِ ٱلْمَشْرِقُ وَٱلْمَغْرِبُ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

sa-yaqūlu l-sufahāʾu mina l-nāsi mā wallāhum ʿan qiblatihimu allatī kānū ʿalayhā qul lillāhi l-mashriqu wa-l-maghribu yahdī man yashāʾu ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin

The fools among the people will say: "What hath turned them from the Qibla to which they were used?" Say: To Allah belong both east and West: He guideth whom He will to a Way that is straight.

Sura al-Baqara 2:143

وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا وَمَا جَعَلْنَا ٱلْقِبْلَةَ ٱلَّتِى كُنتَ عَلَيْهَآ إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ وَإِن كَانَتْ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّـهُ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّـهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَٰنَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِٱلنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

wa-ka-dhālika jaʿalnākum ummatan wasaṭan li-takūnū shuhadāʾa ʿalā l-nāsi wa-yakūna l-rasūlu ʿalaykum shahīdan wa-mā jaʿalnā l-qiblata allatī kunta ʿalayhā illā linaʿlama man yattabiʿu l-rasūla mimman yanqalibu ʿalā ʿaqibayhi wa-in kānat la-kabīratan illā ʿalā lladhīna hadā allāhu wa-mā kāna allāhu li-yuḍīʿa īmānakum inna allāha bil-nāsi la-raʾūfun raḥīmun

Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change) momentous, except to those guided by Allah. And never would Allah Make your faith of no effect. For Allah is to all people Most surely full of kindness, Most Merciful.

Sura al-Baqara 2:150

وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُۥ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيْكُمْ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِى وَلِأُتِمَّ نِعْمَتِى عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

wa-min ḥaythu kharajta fa-walli wajhaka shaṭra l-masjidi l-ḥarāmi waḥaythu mā kuntum fa-wallū wujūhakum shaṭrahu li-allā yakūna lil-nāsi ʿalaykum ḥujjatun illā lladhīna ẓalamū minhum fa-lā takhshawhum wa-akhshawnī wa-li-utimma niʿmatī ʿalaykum wa-la-ʿallakum tahtadūna

So from whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque; and wheresoever ye are, Turn your face thither: that there be no ground of dispute against you among the people, except those of them that are bent on wickedness; so fear them not, but fear Me; and that I may complete My favours on you, and ye May (consent to) be guided;

Sura al-Baqara 2:170

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ قَالُوا۟ بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَآ أَلْفَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ

wa-idhā qīla lahumu ittabiʿū mā anzala allāhu qālū bal nattabiʿu mā alfaynā ʿalayhi ābāʾanā awalaw kāna ābāʾuhum lā yaʿqilūna shayʾan wa-lā yahtadūna

When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah hath revealed:" They say: "Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers." What! even though their fathers Were void of wisdom and guidance?

Sura al-Baqara 2:184

أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُۥ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍ فَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُۥ وَأَن تَصُومُوا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

ayyāman maʿdūdātin fa-man kāna minkum marīḍan aw ʿalā safarin faʿiddatun min ayyāmin ukhara wa-ʿalā lladhīna yuṭīqūnahu fidyatun ṭaʿāmu miskīnin fa-man taṭawwaʿa khayran fa-huwa khayrun lahu wa-an taṣūmū khayrun la-kum in kuntum taʿlamūna

(Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (Should be made up) from days later. For those who can do it (With hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more, of his own free will,- it is better for him. And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew.

Sura al-Baqara 2:185

شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ فِيهِ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْفُرْقَانِ فَمَن شَهِدَ مِنكُمُ ٱلشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُ وَمَن كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ يُرِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ بِكُمُ ٱلْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ ٱلْعُسْرَ وَلِتُكْمِلُوا۟ ٱلْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَىٰكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

shahru ramaḍāna alladhī unzila fīhi l-qurʾānu hudan lil-nāsi wa-bayyinātin mina l-hudā wa-l-furqāni fa-man shahida minkumu l-shahra fa-l-yaṣumhu wa-man kāna marīḍan aw ʿalā safarin faʿiddatun min ayyāmin ukhara yurīdu allāhu bikumu l-yusra wa-lā yurīdu bikumu l-ʿusra wa-li-tukmilū l-ʿiddata wa-li-tukabbirū allāha ʿalā mā hadākum wa-la-ʿallakum tashkurūna

Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.

Sura al-Baqara 2:193

وَقَٰتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّىٰ لَا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ ٱلدِّينُ لِلَّـهِ فَإِنِ ٱنتَهَوْا۟ فَلَا عُدْوَٰنَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

wa-qātilūhum ḥattā lā takūna fitnatun wa-yakūna l-dīnu lillāhi fa-ini intahaw fa-lā ʿudwāna illā ʿalā l-ẓālimīna

And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.

Sura al-Baqara 2:196

وَأَتِمُّوا۟ ٱلْحَجَّ وَٱلْعُمْرَةَ لِلَّـهِ فَإِنْ أُحْصِرْتُمْ فَمَا ٱسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ ٱلْهَدْىِ وَلَا تَحْلِقُوا۟ رُءُوسَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ ٱلْهَدْىُ مَحِلَّهُۥ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوْ بِهِۦٓ أَذًى مِّن رَّأْسِهِۦ فَفِدْيَةٌ مِّن صِيَامٍ أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ نُسُكٍ فَإِذَآ أَمِنتُمْ فَمَن تَمَتَّعَ بِٱلْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى ٱلْحَجِّ فَمَا ٱسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ ٱلْهَدْىِ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فِى ٱلْحَجِّ وَسَبْعَةٍ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ تِلْكَ عَشَرَةٌ كَامِلَةٌ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن لَّمْ يَكُنْ أَهْلُهُۥ حَاضِرِى ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

wa-atimmū l-ḥajja wa-l-ʿumrata lillāhi fa-in uḥṣirtum fa-mā staysara mina l-hadi wa-lā taḥliqū ruʾūsakum ḥattā yablugha l-hadu maḥillahu fa-man kāna minkum marīḍan aw bihi adhan min rrasihi fa-fidyatun min ṣiyāmin aw ṣadaqatin aw nusukin fa-idhā amintum fa-man tamattaʿa bil-ʿumrati ilā l-ḥajji fa-mā staysara mina l-hadi fa-man lam yajid fa-ṣiyāmu thalāthati ayyāmin fī l-ḥajji wa-sabʿatin idhā rajaʿtum tilka ʿasharatun kāmilatun dhālika li-man lam yakun ahluhu ḥāḍirī l-masjidi l-ḥarāmi wattaqū allāha wa-iʿlamū annā allāha shadīdu l-ʿiqābi

And complete the Hajj or 'umra in the service of Allah. But if ye are prevented (From completing it), send an offering for sacrifice, such as ye may find, and do not shave your heads until the offering reaches the place of sacrifice. And if any of you is ill, or has an ailment in his scalp, (Necessitating shaving), (He should) in compensation either fast, or feed the poor, or offer sacrifice; and when ye are in peaceful conditions (again), if any one wishes to continue the 'umra on to the hajj, He must make an offering, such as he can afford, but if he cannot afford it, He should fast three days during the hajj and seven days on his return, Making ten days in all. This is for those whose household is not in (the precincts of) the Sacred Mosque. And fear Allah, and know that Allah Is strict in punishment.

Sura al-Baqara 2:213

كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ فِيهِ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ فَهَدَى ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لِمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِهِۦ وَٱللَّـهُ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

kāna l-nāsu ummatan wāḥidatan fa-baʿatha allāhu l-nabiyyina mubashshirīna wa-mundhirīna wa-anzala maʿahumu l-kitāba bil-ḥaqqi li-yaḥkuma bayna l-nāsi fī-mā akhtalafū fīhi wa-mā ikhtalafa fīhi illā lladhīna ūtūhu min baʿdi mā jāʾathumu l-bayyinātu baghyan baynahum fa-hadā allāhu lladhīna āmanū li-mā akhtalafū fīhi mina l-ḥaqqi bi-idhnihi wallāhu yahdī man yashāʾu ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin

Mankind was one single nation, and Allah sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them He sent the Book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed; but the People of the Book, after the clear Signs came to them, did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy. Allah by His Grace Guided the believers to the Truth, concerning that wherein they differed. For Allah guided whom He will to a path that is straight.

Sura al-Baqara 2:228

وَٱلْمُطَلَّقَٰتُ يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ ثَلَٰثَةَ قُرُوٓءٍ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَهُنَّ أَن يَكْتُمْنَ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّـهُ فِىٓ أَرْحَامِهِنَّ إِن كُنَّ يُؤْمِنَّ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَبُعُولَتُهُنَّ أَحَقُّ بِرَدِّهِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ إِنْ أَرَادُوٓا۟ إِصْلَٰحًا وَلَهُنَّ مِثْلُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَيْهِنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَلِلرِّجَالِ عَلَيْهِنَّ دَرَجَةٌ وَٱللَّـهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

wa-l-muṭallaqātu yatarabbaṣna bi-anfusihinna thalāthata qurūʾin wa-lā yaḥillu la-hunna an yaktumna mā khalaqa allāhu fī arḥāmihinna in kunna yuʾminna billāhi wa-l-yawmi l-akhiri wabuʿūlatuhunna aḥaqqu bi-raddihinna fī dhālika in arādū iṣlāḥan wa-lahunna mithlu alladhī ʿalayhinna bil-maʿrūfi wa-lil-rijāli ʿalayhinna darajatun wallāhu ʿazīzun ḥakīmun

Divorced women shall wait concerning themselves for three monthly periods. Nor is it lawful for them to hide what Allah Hath created in their wombs, if they have faith in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have the better right to take them back in that period, if they wish for reconciliation. And women shall have rights similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable; but men have a degree (of advantage) over them. And Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.

Sura al-Baqara 2:232

وَإِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَبَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ أَن يَنكِحْنَ أَزْوَٰجَهُنَّ إِذَا تَرَٰضَوْا۟ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ذَٰلِكَ يُوعَظُ بِهِۦ مَن كَانَ مِنكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَزْكَىٰ لَكُمْ وَأَطْهَرُ وَٱللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

wa-idhā ṭallaqtumu l-nisāʾa fa-balaghna ajalahunna fa-lā taʿḍulūhunna an yankiḥna azwājahunna idhā tarāḍaw baynahum bil-maʿrūfi dhālika yūʿaẓu bihi man kāna minkum yuʾminū billāhi wa-l-yawmi l-akhiri dhālikum azka la-kum wa-aṭharu wallāhu yaʿlamu wa-antum lā taʿlamūna

When ye divorce women, and they fulfil the term of their ('Iddat), do not prevent them from marrying their (former) husbands, if they mutually agree on equitable terms. This instruction is for all amongst you, who believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is (the course Making for) most virtue and purity amongst you and Allah knows, and ye know not.

Sura al-Baqara 2:247

وَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ قَدْ بَعَثَ لَكُمْ طَالُوتَ مَلِكًا قَالُوٓا۟ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ عَلَيْنَا وَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِٱلْمُلْكِ مِنْهُ وَلَمْ يُؤْتَ سَعَةً مِّنَ ٱلْمَالِ قَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَزَادَهُۥ بَسْطَةً فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ وَٱلْجِسْمِ وَٱللَّـهُ يُؤْتِى مُلْكَهُۥ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّـهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ

wa-qāla lahum nabiyyuhum inna allāha qad baʿatha la-kum ṭālūta malikan qālū annā yakūnu lahu l-mulku ʿalaynā wa-naḥnu aḥaqqu bil-mulki minhu wa-lam yuʾtā saʿatan mina l-māli qalā inna allāha iṣṭafāhu ʿalaykum wa-zādahu basṭatan fī l-ʿilmi wa-l-jismi wallāhu yuʾtī mulkahu man yashāʾu wallāhu wāsiʿun ʿalīmun

Their Prophet said to them: "Allah hath appointed Talut as king over you." They said: "How can he exercise authority over us when we are better fitted than he to exercise authority, and he is not even gifted, with wealth in abundance?" He said: "Allah hath Chosen him above you, and hath gifted him abundantly with knowledge and bodily prowess: Allah Granteth His authority to whom He pleaseth. Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things."

Sura al-Baqara 2:266

أَيَوَدُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ لَهُۥ جَنَّةٌ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ لَهُۥ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ وَأَصَابَهُ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَلَهُۥ ذُرِّيَّةٌ ضُعَفَآءُ فَأَصَابَهَآ إِعْصَارٌ فِيهِ نَارٌ فَٱحْتَرَقَتْ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّـهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ

ayawaddu aḥadukum an takūna lahu jannatun min nakhīlin wa-aʿnābin tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru lahu fīhā min kulli l-thamarāti wa-aṣābahu l-kibaru wa-lahu dhurrīyatun ḍuʿafāʾu fa-aṣābahā iʿṣārun fīhi nārun fa-iḥtaraqat ka-dhālika yubayyinu allāhu lakumu l-ayāti la-ʿallakum tatafakkarūna

Does any of you wish that he should have a garden with date-palms and vines and streams flowing underneath, and all kinds of fruit, while he is stricken with old age, and his children are not strong (enough to look after themselves)- that it should be caught in a whirlwind, with fire therein, and be burnt up? Thus doth Allah make clear to you (His) Signs; that ye may consider.

Sura al-Baqara 2:280

وَإِن كَانَ ذُو عُسْرَةٍ فَنَظِرَةٌ إِلَىٰ مَيْسَرَةٍ وَأَن تَصَدَّقُوا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

wa-in kāna dhū ʿusratin fanaẓiratun ilā maysaratin wa-an taṣaddaqū khayrun la-kum in kuntum taʿlamūna

If the debtor is in a difficulty, grant him time Till it is easy for him to repay. But if ye remit it by way of charity, that is best for you if ye only knew.

Sura al-Baqara 2:282

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا تَدَايَنتُم بِدَيْنٍ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَٱكْتُبُوهُ وَلْيَكْتُب بَّيْنَكُمْ كَاتِبٌۢ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَلَا يَأْبَ كَاتِبٌ أَن يَكْتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ ٱللَّـهُ فَلْيَكْتُبْ وَلْيُمْلِلِ ٱلَّذِى عَلَيْهِ ٱلْحَقُّ وَلْيَتَّقِ ٱللَّـهَ رَبَّهُۥ وَلَا يَبْخَسْ مِنْهُ شَيْـًٔا فَإِن كَانَ ٱلَّذِى عَلَيْهِ ٱلْحَقُّ سَفِيهًا أَوْ ضَعِيفًا أَوْ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَن يُمِلَّ هُوَ فَلْيُمْلِلْ وَلِيُّهُۥ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟ شَهِيدَيْنِ مِن رِّجَالِكُمْ فَإِن لَّمْ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَٱمْرَأَتَانِ مِمَّن تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ ٱلشُّهَدَآءِ أَن تَضِلَّ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ وَلَا يَأْبَ ٱلشُّهَدَآءُ إِذَا مَا دُعُوا۟ وَلَا تَسْـَٔمُوٓا۟ أَن تَكْتُبُوهُ صَغِيرًا أَوْ كَبِيرًا إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلِهِۦ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَقْسَطُ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَأَقْوَمُ لِلشَّهَٰدَةِ وَأَدْنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَرْتَابُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ تِجَٰرَةً حَاضِرَةً تُدِيرُونَهَا بَيْنَكُمْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَلَّا تَكْتُبُوهَا وَأَشْهِدُوٓا۟ إِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْ وَلَا يُضَآرَّ كَاتِبٌ وَلَا شَهِيدٌ وَإِن تَفْعَلُوا۟ فَإِنَّهُۥ فُسُوقٌۢ بِكُمْ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ وَٱللَّـهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū idhā tadāyantum bi-daynin ila ajalin musamman fa-uktubūhu wa-l-yaktub baynakum kātibun bil-ʿadli wa-lā yaʾba kātibun an yaktuba ka-mā ʿallamahu allāhu fa-l-yaktub wa-l-yumlili alladhī ʿalayhi l-ḥaqqu wa-l-yattaqi allāha rabbahu wa-lā yabkhas minhu shayʾan fa-in kāna alladhī ʿalayhi l-ḥaqqu safīhan aw ḍaʿīfan aw lā yastaṭīʿu an yumilla huwa fa-lyumlil walīyuhu bil-ʿadli wa-istashhidū shahīdayni min rijālikum fa-in lam yakūnā rajulayni fa-rajulun wa-amraʾatāni mimman tarḍawna mina l-shuhadāʾi an taḍilla iḥdāhumā fa-tudhakkira iḥdāhumā l-ukhrā wa-lā yaʾba l-suhadāʾu idhā mā duʿū wa-lā tasʾamū an taktubūhu ṣaghīran aw kabīran ila ajalihi dhālikum aqsaṭu ʿinda allāhi wa-aqwamu lil-shahādati wa-adna allā tartābū illā an takūna tijāratan ḥāḍiratan tudīrūnahā baynakum fa-laysa ʿalaykum junāḥun allā taktubūhā wa-ashhidū idhā tabāyaʿtum wa-lā yuḍārra kātibun wa-lā shahīdun wa-in tafʿalū fa-innahu fusūqun bikum wa-ittaqū allāha wayuʿallimukumu allāhu wallāhu bi-kulli shayʾin ʿalīmun

O ye who believe! When ye deal with each other, in transactions involving future obligations in a fixed period of time, reduce them to writing Let a scribe write down faithfully as between the parties: let not the scribe refuse to write: as Allah Has taught him, so let him write. Let him who incurs the liability dictate, but let him fear His Lord Allah, and not diminish aught of what he owes. If the party liable is mentally deficient, or weak, or unable Himself to dictate, Let his guardian dictate faithfully, and get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her. The witnesses should not refuse when they are called on (For evidence). Disdain not to reduce to writing (your contract) for a future period, whether it be small or big: it is juster in the sight of Allah, More suitable as evidence, and more convenient to prevent doubts among yourselves but if it be a transaction which ye carry out on the spot among yourselves, there is no blame on you if ye reduce it not to writing. But take witness whenever ye make a commercial contract; and let neither scribe nor witness suffer harm. If ye do (such harm), it would be wickedness in you. So fear Allah; For it is Allah that teaches you. And Allah is well acquainted with all things.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:13

قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌ فِى فِئَتَيْنِ ٱلْتَقَتَا فِئَةٌ تُقَٰتِلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْىَ ٱلْعَيْنِ وَٱللَّـهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ

qad kāna la-kum āyatun fī fiʾatayni ltaqatā fiʾatun tuqātilu fī sabīli allāhi wa-ukhrā kāfiratun yarawnahum mithlayhim raʾya l-ʿayni wallāhu yuʾayyidu binaṣrihi man yashāʾu inna fī dhālika la-ʿibratan li-lūlī l-abṣāri

"There has already been for you a Sign in the two armies that met (in combat): One was fighting in the cause of Allah, the other resisting Allah; these saw with their own eyes Twice their number. But Allah doth support with His aid whom He pleaseth. In this is a warning for such as have eyes to see."

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:24

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِى دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

dhālika bi-annahum qālū lan tamassanā l-nāru illā ayyāman maʿdūdātin wagharrahum fī dīnihim mā kānū yaftarūna

This because they say: "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days": For their forgeries deceive them as to their own religion.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:40

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّـهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ

qalā rabbi annā yakūnu lī ghulāmun wa-qad balaghaniya l-kibaru wa-imraʾatī ʿāqirun qalā ka-dhālika allāhu yafʿalu mā yashāʾu

He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have son, seeing I am very old, and my wife is barren?" "Thus," was the answer, "Doth Allah accomplish what He willeth."

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:47

قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى وَلَدٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ ٱللَّـهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

qālat rabbi annā yakūnu lī waladun wa-lam yamsasnī basharun qalā ka-dhāliki allāhu yakhluqu mā yashāʾu idhā qaḍa amran fa-innamā yaqūlu lahu kun fa-yakūnu

She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth: When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is!

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:49

وَرَسُولًا إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَنِّى قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ أَنِّىٓ أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيْـَٔةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًۢا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَأُبْرِئُ ٱلْأَكْمَهَ وَٱلْأَبْرَصَ وَأُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

wa-rasūlan ilā banī isrāʾīla annī qad jiʾtukum bi-āyatin min rabbikum annī akhluqu la-kum mina l-ṭīni kahayati l-ṭayri fa-anfukhu fīhi fa-yakūnu ṭayran bi-idhni allāhi wa-ubriʾu l-akmaha wa-l-abraṣa wa-uḥi l-mawtā bi-idhni allāhi wa-unabbiʾukum bi-mā taʾkulūna wa-mā taddakhirūna fī buyūtikum inna fī dhālika la-āyatan la-kum in kuntum muʾminīna

"And (appoint him) a messenger to the Children of Israel, (with this message): "'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah's leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe;

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:59

إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

inna mathala ʿīsa ʿinda allāhi ka-mathali ādama khalaqahu min turābin thumma qalā lahu kun fa-yakūnu

The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:67

مَا كَانَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُّسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

mā kāna ibrāhīmu yahūdīyan wa-lā naṣrānīyan wa-lākin kāna ḥanīfan musliman wa-mā kāna mina l-mushrikīna

Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah's (Which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:79

مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا۟ عِبَادًا لِّى مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَٰكِن كُونُوا۟ رَبَّٰنِيِّۦنَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ

mā kāna li-basharin an yutīahu allāhu l-kitāba wa-l-ḥukma wa-l-nubuwwata thumma yaqūla lil-nāsi kūnū ʿibādan lī min dūni allāhi wa-lākin kūnū rabbānīyina bi-mā kuntum tuʿallimūna l-kitāba wa-bimā kuntum tadrusūna

It is not (possible) that a man, to whom is given the Book, and Wisdom, and the prophetic office, should say to people: "Be ye my worshippers rather than Allah's": on the contrary (He would say) "Be ye worshippers of Him Who is truly the Cherisher of all: For ye have taught the Book and ye have studied it earnestly."

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:93

كُلُّ ٱلطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ فَٱتْلُوهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

kullu l-ṭaʿāmi kāna ḥillan li-banī isrāʾīla illā mā ḥarrama isrāʾīlu ʿalā nafsihi min qabli an tunazzala l-tawratu qul fa-ʾtū bil-tawrati fa-atlūhā in kuntum ṣādiqīna

All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel Made unlawful for itself, before the Law (of Moses) was revealed. Say: "Bring ye the Law and study it, if ye be men of truth."

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:95

قُلْ صَدَقَ ٱللَّـهُ فَٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

qul ṣadaqa allāhu fa-ittabiʿū millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa-mā kāna mina l-mushrikīna

Say: "Allah speaketh the Truth: follow the religion of Abraham, the sane in faith; he was not of the Pagans."

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:97

فِيهِ ءَايَٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَٰتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنًا وَلِلَّەِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

fīhi āyātun bayyinātun maqāmu ibrāhīma wa-man dakhalahu kāna āminan wa-lillahi ʿalā l-nāsi ḥijju l-bayti mani staṭāʿa ilayhi sabīlan wa-man kafara fa-inna allāha ghaniyyun ʿani l-ʿālamīna

In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah,- those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:104

وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

wa-l-takun minkum ummatun yadʿūna ilā l-khayri wa-yaʾmurūna bil-maʿrūfi wa-yanhawna ʿani l-munkari wa-ūlāʾika humu l-mufliḥūna

Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:110

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ

kuntum khayra ummatin ukhrijat lil-nāsi taʾmurūna bil-maʿrūfi wa-tanhawna ʿani l-munkari wa-tuminūna billāhi wa-law āmana ahlu l-kitābi la-kāna khayran lahum minhumu l-muʾminūna wa-aktharuhumu l-fāsiqūna

Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.
