Sura al-Baqara 2:14

وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ شَيَٰطِينِهِمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِءُونَ

wa-idhā laqū lladhīna āmanū qālū āmannā wa-idhā khalaw ilā shayāṭīnihim qālū innā maʿakum innamā naḥnu mustahziʾūna

When they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe;" but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say: "We are really with you: We (were) only jesting."

Sura al-Baqara 2:76

وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ قَالُوٓا۟ أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لِيُحَآجُّوكُم بِهِۦ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

wa-idhā laqū lladhīna āmanū qālū āmannā wa-idhā khalā baʿḍuhum ilā baʿḍin qālū atuḥaddithūnahum bi-mā fataḥa allāhu ʿalaykum li-yuḥājjūkum bihi ʿinda rabbikum a-fa-lā taʿqilūna

Behold! when they meet the men of Faith, they say: "We believe": But when they meet each other in private, they say: "Shall you tell them what Allah hath revealed to you, that they may engage you in argument about it before your Lord?"- Do ye not understand (their aim)?

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:119

هَٰٓأَنتُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ عَضُّوا۟ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ قُلْ مُوتُوا۟ بِغَيْظِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

hā-antum ūlāʾi tuḥibbūnahum wa-lā yuḥibbūnakum wa-tuminūna bil-kitābi kullihi wa-idhā laqūkum qālū āmannā wa-idhā khalaw ʿaḍḍū ʿalaykumu l-anāmila mina l-ghayẓi qul mūtū bighayẓikum inna allāha ʿalīmun bi-dhāti l-ṣudūri

Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in you rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart."

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:143

وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ

wa-la-qad kuntum tamannawna l-mawtā min qabli an talqawhu fa-qad raaytumūhu wa-antum tanẓurūna

Ye did indeed wish for death before ye met him: Now ye have seen him with your own eyes, (And ye flinch!)

Sura al-Anfāl 8:15

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ زَحْفًا فَلَا تُوَلُّوهُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū idhā laqītumu lladhīna kafarū zaḥfan fa-lā tuwallūhumu l-adbāra

O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them.

Sura al-Anfāl 8:45

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا لَقِيتُمْ فِئَةً فَٱثْبُتُوا۟ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ كَثِيرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū idhā laqītum fiatan fa-ithbutū wa-idhkurū allāha kathīran la-ʿallakum tufliḥūna

O ye who believe! When ye meet a force, be firm, and call Allah in remembrance much (and often); that ye may prosper:

Sura al-Tawbah 9:77

فَأَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفَاقًا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ بِمَآ أَخْلَفُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ مَا وَعَدُوهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ

fa-aʿqabahum nifāqan fī qulūbihim ilā yawmi yalqawnahu bimā akhlafū allāha mā waʿadūhu wa-bimā kānū yakdhibūna

So He hath put as a consequence hypocrisy into their hearts, (to last) till the Day, whereon they shall meet Him: because they broke their covenant with Allah, and because they lied (again and again).

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:13

وَكُلَّ إِنسَٰنٍ أَلْزَمْنَٰهُ طَٰٓئِرَهُۥ فِى عُنُقِهِۦ وَنُخْرِجُ لَهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ كِتَٰبًا يَلْقَىٰهُ مَنشُورًا

wa-kulla insānin alzamnāhu ṭāʾirahu fī ʿunuqihi wa-nukhriju lahu yawma l-qiyāmati kitāban yalqahu manshūran

Every man's fate We have fastened on his own neck: On the Day of Judgment We shall bring out for him a scroll, which he will see spread open.

Sura al-Kahf 18:62

فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَا قَالَ لِفَتَىٰهُ ءَاتِنَا غَدَآءَنَا لَقَدْ لَقِينَا مِن سَفَرِنَا هَٰذَا نَصَبًا

fa-lammā jāwazā qalā li-fatāhu ātinā ghadāʾanā la-qad laqīnā min safarinā hādhā naṣaban

When they had passed on (some distance), Moses said to his attendant: "Bring us our early meal; truly we have suffered much fatigue at this (stage of) our journey."

Sura al-Kahf 18:74

فَٱنطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا لَقِيَا غُلَٰمًا فَقَتَلَهُۥ قَالَ أَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا زَكِيَّةًۢ بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ لَّقَدْ جِئْتَ شَيْـًٔا نُّكْرًا

fa-inṭalaqā ḥatta idhā laqīā ghulāman faqatalahu qalā aqatalta nafsan zakīyatan bi-ghayri nafsin llaqad jiʾta shayʾan nnukran

Then they proceeded: until, when they met a young man, he slew him. Moses said: "Hast thou slain an innocent person who had slain none? Truly a foul (unheard of) thing hast thou done!"

Sura Maryam 19:59

فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا

fa-khalafa min baʿdihim khalfun aḍāʿū l-ṣalāta wa-ittabaʿū l-shahawāti fa-sawfa yalqawna ghayyan

But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction,-

Sura al-Furqān 25:68

وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّـهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّـهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًا

wa-lladhīna lā yadʿūna maʿa allāhi ilāhan ākhara wa-lā yaqtulūna l-nafsa allatī ḥarrama allāhu illā bil-ḥaqqi wa-lā yaznūna wa-man yafʿal dhālika yalqa athāman

Those who invoke not, with Allah, any other god, nor slay such life as Allah has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; - and any that does this (not only) meets punishment.

Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:44

تَحِيَّتُهُمْ يَوْمَ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ سَلَٰمٌ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا كَرِيمًا

taḥiyyatuhum yawma yalqawnahu salāmun wa-aʿadda lahum ajran karīman

Their salutation on the Day they meet Him will be "Peace!"; and He has prepared for them a generous Reward.

Sura Muḥammad 47:4

فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَضَرْبَ ٱلرِّقَابِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَثْخَنتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا۟ ٱلْوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنًّۢا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَآءً حَتَّىٰ تَضَعَ ٱلْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ذَٰلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّـهُ لَٱنتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَا۟ بَعْضَكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ فَلَن يُضِلَّ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ

fa-idhā laqītumu lladhīna kafarū fa-ḍarba l-riqābi ḥatta idhā athkhantumūhum fa-shuddū l-wathāqa fa-immā mannan baʿdu wa-immā fidāʾan ḥattā taḍaʿa l-ḥarbu awzārahā dhālika wa-law yashāʾu allāhu la-intaṣara minhum wa-lākin li-yabluwā baʿḍakum bi-baʿḍin wa-lladhīna qutilū fī sabīli allāhi fa-lan yuḍilla aʿmālahum

Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.
