Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)

(2:15)

ٱللَّـهُ  يَسْتَهْزِئُ  بِهِمْ  وَيَمُدُّهُمْ  فِى  طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ  يَعْمَهُونَ allāhu yastahziʾu bihim wa‑yamudduhum ṭughyānihim yaʿmahūna
Allah will throw back their mockery on them, and give them rope in their trespasses; so they will wander like blind ones (To and fro).

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:124)

إِذْ  تَقُولُ  لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ  أَلَن  يَكْفِيَكُمْ  أَن  يُمِدَّكُمْ  رَبُّكُم  بِثَلَٰثَةِ  ءَالَٰفٍ  مِّنَ  ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ  مُنزَلِينَ idh taqūlu lil‑muʾminīna alan yakfiyakum an yumiddakum rabbukum bi‑thalāthati ālāfin mina l‑malāʾikati munzalīna
Remember thou saidst to the Faithful: "Is it not enough for you that Allah should help you with three thousand angels (Specially) sent down?
(3:125)

بَلَىٰٓ  إِن  تَصْبِرُوا۟  وَتَتَّقُوا۟  وَيَأْتُوكُم  مِّن  فَوْرِهِمْ  هَٰذَا  يُمْدِدْكُمْ  رَبُّكُم  بِخَمْسَةِ  ءَالَٰفٍ  مِّنَ  ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ  مُسَوِّمِينَ balā in taṣbirū wa‑tattaqū wa‑yatūkum min fawrihim hādhā yumdidkum rabbukum bi‑khamsati ālāfin mina l‑malāʾikati musawwimīna
"Yea, - if ye remain firm, and act aright, even if the enemy should rush here on you in hot haste, your Lord would help you with five thousand angels Making a terrific onslaught.

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:202)

وَإِخْوَٰنُهُمْ  يَمُدُّونَهُمْ  فِى  ٱلْغَىِّ  ثُمَّ  لَا  يُقْصِرُونَ wa‑ikhwānuhum yamuddūnahum l‑ghayyi thumma yuqṣirūna
But their brethren (the evil ones) plunge them deeper into error, and never relax (their efforts).

Surah 13 al-Raʿd (The Thunder)
(13:3)

وَهُوَ  ٱلَّذِى  مَدَّ  ٱلْأَرْضَ  وَجَعَلَ  فِيهَا  رَوَٰسِىَ  وَأَنْهَٰرًا  وَمِن  كُلِّ  ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ  جَعَلَ  فِيهَا  زَوْجَيْنِ  ٱثْنَيْنِ  يُغْشِى  ٱلَّيْلَ  ٱلنَّهَارَ  إِنَّ  فِى  ذَٰلِكَ  لَءَايَٰتٍ  لِّقَوْمٍ  يَتَفَكَّرُونَ wa‑huwa alladhī madda l‑arḍa wa‑jaʿala fīhā rawāsiya wa‑anhāran wa‑min kulli l‑thamarāti jaʿala fīhā zawjayni ithnayni yughshī l‑layla l‑nahāra inna dhālika la‑āyātin li‑qawmin yatafakkarūna
And it is He who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm and (flowing) rivers: and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two: He draweth the night as a veil o'er the Day. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who consider!

Surah 15 al-Ḥijr (The Rocky Tract)
(15:19)

وَٱلْأَرْضَ  مَدَدْنَٰهَا  وَأَلْقَيْنَا  فِيهَا  رَوَٰسِىَ  وَأَنۢبَتْنَا  فِيهَا  مِن  كُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  مَّوْزُونٍ wa‑l‑arḍa madadnāhā wa‑alqaynā fīhā rawāsiya wa‑anbatnā fīhā min kulli shayʾin mawzūnin
And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance.
(15:88)

لَا  تَمُدَّنَّ  عَيْنَيْكَ  إِلَىٰ  مَا  مَتَّعْنَا  بِهِۦٓ  أَزْوَٰجًا  مِّنْهُمْ  وَلَا  تَحْزَنْ  عَلَيْهِمْ  وَٱخْفِضْ  جَنَاحَكَ  لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ tamuddanna ʿaynayka ilā mattaʿnā bihi azwājan minhum wa‑lā taḥzan ʿalayhim wa‑ikhfiḍ janāḥaka lil‑muʾminīna
Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers.

Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel)
(17:6)

ثُمَّ  رَدَدْنَا  لَكُمُ  ٱلْكَرَّةَ  عَلَيْهِمْ  وَأَمْدَدْنَٰكُم  بِأَمْوَٰلٍ  وَبَنِينَ  وَجَعَلْنَٰكُمْ  أَكْثَرَ  نَفِيرًا thumma radadnā lakumu l‑karrata ʿalayhim wa‑amdadnākum bi‑amwālin wa‑banīna wa‑jaʿalnākum akthara nafīran
Then did We grant you the Return as against them: We gave you increase in resources and sons, and made you the more numerous in man-power.
(17:20)

كُلًّا  نُّمِدُّ  هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ  وَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ  مِنْ  عَطَآءِ  رَبِّكَ  وَمَا  كَانَ  عَطَآءُ  رَبِّكَ  مَحْظُورًا kullan nnumiddu hāʾulāʾi wa‑hāʾulāʾi min ʿaṭāʾi rabbika wa‑mā kāna ʿaṭāʾu rabbika maḥẓūran
Of the bounties of thy Lord We bestow freely on all- These as well as those: The bounties of thy Lord are not closed (to anyone).

Surah 19 Maryam (Mary)
(19:75)

قُلْ  مَن  كَانَ  فِى  ٱلضَّلَٰلَةِ  فَلْيَمْدُدْ  لَهُ  ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ  مَدًّا  حَتَّىٰٓ  إِذَا  رَأَوْا۟  مَا  يُوعَدُونَ  إِمَّا  ٱلْعَذَابَ  وَإِمَّا  ٱلسَّاعَةَ  فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ  مَنْ  هُوَ  شَرٌّ  مَّكَانًا  وَأَضْعَفُ  جُندًا qul man kāna l‑ḍalālati fa‑l‑yamdud lahu l‑raḥmānu maddan ḥatta idhā raʾaw yūʿadūna immā l‑ʿadhāba wa‑immā l‑sāʿata fa‑sa‑yaʿlamūna man huwa sharrun makānan wa‑aḍʿafu jundan
Say: "If any men go astray, (Allah) Most Gracious extends (the rope) to them, until, when they see the warning of Allah (being fulfilled) - either in punishment or in (the approach of) the Hour,- they will at length realise who is worst in position, and (who) weakest in forces!
(19:79)

كَلَّا  سَنَكْتُبُ  مَا  يَقُولُ  وَنَمُدُّ  لَهُۥ  مِنَ  ٱلْعَذَابِ  مَدًّا kallā sa‑naktubu yaqūlu wa‑namuddu lahu mina l‑ʿadhābi maddan
Nay! We shall record what he says, and We shall add and add to his punishment.

Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha)
(20:131)

وَلَا  تَمُدَّنَّ  عَيْنَيْكَ  إِلَىٰ  مَا  مَتَّعْنَا  بِهِۦٓ  أَزْوَٰجًا  مِّنْهُمْ  زَهْرَةَ  ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ  ٱلدُّنْيَا  لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ  فِيهِ  وَرِزْقُ  رَبِّكَ  خَيْرٌ  وَأَبْقَىٰ wa‑lā tamuddanna ʿaynayka ilā mattaʿnā bihi azwājan minhum zahrata l‑ḥayāti l‑dunyā li‑naftinahum fīhi wa‑rizqu rabbika khayrun wa‑abqā
Nor strain thine eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to parties of them, the splendour of the life of this world, through which We test them: but the provision of thy Lord is better and more enduring.

Surah 22 al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
(22:15)

مَن  كَانَ  يَظُنُّ  أَن  لَّن  يَنصُرَهُ  ٱللَّـهُ  فِى  ٱلدُّنْيَا  وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ  فَلْيَمْدُدْ  بِسَبَبٍ  إِلَى  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  ثُمَّ  لْيَقْطَعْ  فَلْيَنظُرْ  هَلْ  يُذْهِبَنَّ  كَيْدُهُۥ  مَا  يَغِيظُ man kāna yaẓunnu an lan yanṣurahu allāhu l‑dunyā wa‑l‑akhirati fa‑l‑yamdud bi‑sababin ilā l‑samāʾi thumma l‑yaqṭaʿ falyanẓur hal yudhhibanna kayduhu yaghīẓu
If any think that Allah will not help him (His Messenger) in this world and the Hereafter, let him stretch out a rope to the ceiling and cut (himself) off: then let him see whether his plan will remove that which enrages (him)!

Surah 23 al-Muʾminūn (The Believers)
(23:55)

أَيَحْسَبُونَ  أَنَّمَا  نُمِدُّهُم  بِهِۦ  مِن  مَّالٍ  وَبَنِينَ ayaḥsabūna annamā numidduhum bihi min mālin wa‑banīna
Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons,

Surah 25 al-Furqān (The Criterion)
(25:45)

أَلَمْ  تَرَ  إِلَىٰ  رَبِّكَ  كَيْفَ  مَدَّ  ٱلظِّلَّ  وَلَوْ  شَآءَ  لَجَعَلَهُۥ  سَاكِنًا  ثُمَّ  جَعَلْنَا  ٱلشَّمْسَ  عَلَيْهِ  دَلِيلًا a‑lam tara ilā rabbika kayfa madda l‑ẓilla wa‑law shāʾa la‑jaʿalahu sākinan thumma jaʿalnā l‑shamsa ʿalayhi dalīlan
Hast thou not turned thy vision to thy Lord?- How He doth prolong the shadow! If He willed, He could make it stationary! then do We make the sun its guide;

Surah 26 al-Shuʿarā (The Poets)
(26:132)

وَٱتَّقُوا۟  ٱلَّذِىٓ  أَمَدَّكُم  بِمَا  تَعْلَمُونَ wa‑ittaqū alladhī amaddakum bi‑mā taʿlamūna
"Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know.
(26:133)

أَمَدَّكُم  بِأَنْعَٰمٍ  وَبَنِينَ amaddakum bianʿāmin wa‑banīna
"Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,-

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:36)

فَلَمَّا  جَآءَ  سُلَيْمَٰنَ  قَالَ  أَتُمِدُّونَنِ  بِمَالٍ  فَمَآ  ءَاتَىٰنِۦَ  ٱللَّـهُ  خَيْرٌ  مِّمَّآ  ءَاتَىٰكُم  بَلْ  أَنتُم  بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ  تَفْرَحُونَ fa‑lammā jāa sulaymāna qalā atumiddūnani bimālin fa‑mā ātāni allāhu khayrun mimmā ātakum bal antum bihadīyatikum tafraḥūna
Now when (the embassy) came to Solomon, he said: "Will ye give me abundance in wealth? But that which Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay it is ye who rejoice in your gift!

Surah 31 Luqmān (Lukman)
(31:27)

وَلَوْ  أَنَّمَا  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  مِن  شَجَرَةٍ  أَقْلَٰمٌ  وَٱلْبَحْرُ  يَمُدُّهُۥ  مِنۢ  بَعْدِهِۦ  سَبْعَةُ  أَبْحُرٍ  مَّا  نَفِدَتْ  كَلِمَٰتُ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  عَزِيزٌ  حَكِيمٌ wa‑law annamā l‑arḍi min shajaratin aqlāmun wa‑l‑baḥru yamudduhu min baʿdihi sabʿatu abḥurin nafidat kalimātu allāhi inna allāha ʿazīzun ḥakīmun
And if all the trees on earth were pens and the ocean (were ink), with seven oceans behind it to add to its (supply), yet would not the words of Allah be exhausted (in the writing): for Allah is Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

Surah 50 Qāf (Qaf)
(50:7)

وَٱلْأَرْضَ  مَدَدْنَٰهَا  وَأَلْقَيْنَا  فِيهَا  رَوَٰسِىَ  وَأَنۢبَتْنَا  فِيهَا  مِن  كُلِّ  زَوْجٍۭ  بَهِيجٍ wa‑l‑arḍa madadnāhā wa‑alqaynā fīhā rawāsiya wa‑anbatnā fīhā min kulli zawjin bahījin
And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)-

Surah 52 al-Ṭūr (The Mountain)
(52:22)

وَأَمْدَدْنَٰهُم  بِفَٰكِهَةٍ  وَلَحْمٍ  مِّمَّا  يَشْتَهُونَ wa‑amdadnāhum bi‑fākihatin wa‑laḥmin mimmā yashtahūna
And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire.

Surah 71 Nūḥ (Noah)
(71:12)

وَيُمْدِدْكُم  بِأَمْوَٰلٍ  وَبَنِينَ  وَيَجْعَل  لَّكُمْ  جَنَّٰتٍ  وَيَجْعَل  لَّكُمْ  أَنْهَٰرًا wa‑yumdidkum bi‑amwālin wa‑banīna wa‑yajʿal la‑kum jannātin wa‑yajʿal la‑kum anhāran
"'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water).

Surah 84 al-Inshiqāq (The Rending)
(84:3)

وَإِذَا  ٱلْأَرْضُ  مُدَّتْ wa‑idhā l‑arḍu muddat
And when the earth is flattened out,
