Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)

(6:2)    | هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰٓ أَجَلًا وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى عِندَهُۥ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ | huwa alladhī khalaqakum min ṭīnin thumma qaḍa ajalan wa‑ajalun musamman ʿindahu thumma antum tamtarūna | He it is created you from clay, and then decreed a stated
term (for you). And there is in His presence another determined term; yet
ye doubt within yourselves!
Sura al-Anʿām 6:2 هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰٓ أَجَلًا وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى عِندَهُۥ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ huwa alladhī khalaqakum min ṭīnin thumma qaḍa ajalan wa-ajalun musamman ʿindahu thumma antum tamtarūna He it is created you from clay, and then decreed a stated term (for you). And there is in His presence another determined term; yet ye doubt within yourselves! |
Surah 18 al-Kahf (The Cave) | (18:22) | سَيَقُولُونَ ثَلَٰثَةٌ رَّابِعُهُمْ كَلْبُهُمْ وَيَقُولُونَ خَمْسَةٌ سَادِسُهُمْ كَلْبُهُمْ رَجْمًۢا بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَيَقُولُونَ سَبْعَةٌ وَثَامِنُهُمْ كَلْبُهُمْ قُل رَّبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِعِدَّتِهِم مَّا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ فَلَا تُمَارِ فِيهِمْ إِلَّا مِرَآءً ظَٰهِرًا وَلَا تَسْتَفْتِ فِيهِم مِّنْهُمْ أَحَدًا | sa‑yaqūlūna thalāthatun rrābiʿuhum kalbuhum wa‑yaqūlūna khamsatun sādisuhum kalbuhum rajman bil‑ghaybi wa‑yaqūlūna sabʿatun wa‑thāminuhum kalbuhum qul rrabbī aʿlamu biʿiddatihim mā yaʿlamuhum illā qalīlun fa‑lā tumāri fīhim illā mirāʾan ẓāhiran wa‑lā tastafti fīhim minhum aḥadan | (Some) say they were three, the dog being the fourth among
them; (others) say they were five, the dog being the sixth,- doubtfully
guessing at the unknown; (yet others) say they were seven, the dog being
the eighth. Say thou: "My Lord knoweth best their number; It is but few
that know their (real case)." Enter not, therefore, into controversies
concerning them, except on a matter that is clear, nor consult any of them
about (the affair of) the Sleepers.

Surah 43 al-Zukhruf (The Embellishment) | (43:61) | وَإِنَّهُۥ لَعِلْمٌ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَٱتَّبِعُونِ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ | wa‑innahu laʿilmun lil‑sāʿati fa‑lā tamtarunna bihā wa‑ittabiʿūni hādhā ṣirāṭun mustaqīmun | And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of
Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this
is a Straight Way.
Sura al-Zukhruf 43:61 وَإِنَّهُۥ لَعِلْمٌ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَٱتَّبِعُونِ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ wa-innahu laʿilmun lil-sāʿati fa-lā tamtarunna bihā wa-ittabiʿūni hādhā ṣirāṭun mustaqīmun And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way. |
Surah 44 al-Dukhān (The Evident Smoke) | (44:50) | إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ | inna hādhā mā kuntum bihi tamtarūna | "Truly this is what ye used to doubt!"
Sura al-Dukhān 44:50 إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ inna hādhā mā kuntum bihi tamtarūna "Truly this is what ye used to doubt!" |
Surah 53 al-Najm (The Star) | (53:12) | أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ | a‑fa‑tumārūnahu ʿalā mā yarā | Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw?
Sura al-Najm 53:12 أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ a-fa-tumārūnahu ʿalā mā yarā Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? |
| (53:55) | فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ | fa‑bi‑ayyi ālāʾi rabbika tatamārā | Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou
dispute about?
Sura al-Najm 53:55 فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ fa-bi-ayyi ālāʾi rabbika tatamārā Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? |
