Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)

(6:2)    | هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰٓ أَجَلًا وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى عِندَهُۥ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ | huwa alladhī khalaqakum min ṭīnin thumma qaḍa ajalan wa‑ajalun musamman ʿindahu thumma antum tamtarūna | He it is created you from clay, and then decreed a stated
term (for you). And there is in His presence another determined term; yet
ye doubt within yourselves!
Sura al-Anʿām 6:2 هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰٓ أَجَلًا وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى عِندَهُۥ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ huwa alladhī khalaqakum min ṭīnin thumma qaḍa ajalan wa-ajalun musamman ʿindahu thumma antum tamtarūna He it is created you from clay, and then decreed a stated term (for you). Surah 15 al-Ḥijr (The Rocky Tract) | (15:63) | قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ | qālū bal jiʾnāka bi‑mā kānū fīhi yamtarūna | They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of
which they doubt.
Sura al-Ḥijr 15:63 قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ qālū bal jiʾnāka bi-mā kānū fīhi yamtarūna They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. |
Surah 19 Maryam (Mary) | (19:34) | ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ | dhālika ʿīsā ibnu maryama qawla l‑ḥaqqi alladhī fīhi yamtarūna | Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of
truth, about which they (vainly) dispute.
Sura Maryam 19:34 ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ dhālika ʿīsā ibnu maryama qawla l-ḥaqqi alladhī fīhi yamtarūna Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute. |
Surah 42 al-Shūrā (The Counsel) | (42:18) | يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا ٱلْحَقُّ أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِى ٱلسَّاعَةِ لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ | yastaʿjilu bihā lladhīna lā yuʾminūna bihā wa‑lladhīna āmanū mushfiqūna minhā wa‑yaʿlamūna annahā l‑ḥaqqu āla inna lladhīna yumārūna fī l‑sāʿati la‑fī ḍalālin baʿīdin | Only those wish to hasten it who believe not in it: those who
believe hold it in awe, and know that it is the Truth. Behold, verily those
that dispute concerning the Hour are far astray.
Sura al-Shūrā 42:18 يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا ٱلْحَقُّ أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِى ٱلسَّاعَةِ لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ yastaʿjilu bihā lladhīna lā yuʾminūna bihā wa-lladhīna āmanū mushfiqūna minhā wa-yaʿlamūna annahā l-ḥaqqu āla inna lladhīna yumārūna fī l-sāʿati la-fī ḍalālin baʿīdin Only those wish to hasten it who believe not in it: those who believe hold it in awe, and know that it is the Truth. Behold, verily those that dispute concerning the Hour are far astray. |
Surah 43 al-Zukhruf (The Embellishment) | (43:61) | وَإِنَّهُۥ لَعِلْمٌ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَٱتَّبِعُونِ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ | wa‑innahu laʿilmun lil‑sāʿati fa‑lā tamtarunna bihā wa‑ittabiʿūni hādhā ṣirāṭun mustaqīmun | And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of
Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this
is a Straight Way.
Sura al-Zukhruf 43:61 وَإِنَّهُۥ لَعِلْمٌ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَٱتَّبِعُونِ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ wa-innahu laʿilmun lil-sāʿati fa-lā tamtarunna bihā wa-ittabiʿūni hādhā ṣirāṭun mustaqīmun And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way. |
Surah 44 al-Dukhān (The Evident Smoke) | (44:50) | إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ | inna hādhā mā kuntum bihi tamtarūna | "Truly this is what ye used to doubt!"
Sura al-Dukhān 44:50 إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ inna hādhā mā kuntum bihi tamtarūna "Truly this is what ye used to doubt!" |
Surah 53 al-Najm (The Star) | (53:12) | أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ | a‑fa‑tumārūnahu ʿalā mā yarā | Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw?
Sura al-Najm 53:12 أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ a-fa-tumārūnahu ʿalā mā yarā Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? |
Surah 54 al-Qamar (The Moon) | (54:36) | وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا۟ بِٱلنُّذُرِ | wa‑la‑qad andharahum baṭshatanā fa‑tamāraw bil‑nudhuri | And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed
about the Warning.
Sura al-Qamar 54:36 وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا۟ بِٱلنُّذُرِ wa-la-qad andharahum baṭshatanā fa-tamāraw bil-nudhuri And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. |
