Sura al-Baqara 2:94

قُلْ إِن كَانَتْ لَكُمُ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلْأَخِرَةُ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ خَالِصَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا۟ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

qul in kānat lakumu l-dāru l-akhiratu ʿinda allāhi khāliṣatan min dūni l-nāsi fa-tamannawu l-mawtā in kuntum ṣādiqīna

Say: "If the last Home, with Allah, be for you specially, and not for anyone else, then seek ye for death, if ye are sincere."

Sura al-Baqara 2:95

وَلَن يَتَمَنَّوْهُ أَبَدًۢا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

wa-lan yatamannawhu abadan bi-mā qaddamat aydīhim wallāhu ʿalīmun bil-ẓālimīna

But they will never seek for death, on account of the (sins) which their hands have sent on before them. and Allah is well-acquainted with the wrong-doers.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:143

وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ

wa-la-qad kuntum tamannawna l-mawtā min qabli an talqawhu fa-qad raaytumūhu wa-antum tanẓurūna

Ye did indeed wish for death before ye met him: Now ye have seen him with your own eyes, (And ye flinch!)

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:32

وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا۟ مَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهِۦ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا ٱكْتَسَبُوا۟ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا ٱكْتَسَبْنَ وَسْـَٔلُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ مِن فَضْلِهِۦٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًا

wa-lā tatamannaw mā faḍḍala allāhu bihi baʿḍakum ʿalā baʿḍin lil-rijāli naṣībun mimmā iktasabū wa-lil-nisāʾi naṣībun mimmā iktasabna wa-sʾalū allāha min faḍlihi inna allāha kāna bi-kulli shayʾin ʿalīman

And in no wise covet those things in which Allah Hath bestowed His gifts More freely on some of you than on others: To men is allotted what they earn, and to women what they earn: But ask Allah of His bounty. For Allah hath full knowledge of all things.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:119

وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمْ وَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُمْ وَلَءَامُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ ءَاذَانَ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَلَءَامُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَن يَتَّخِذِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ وَلِيًّا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ فَقَدْ خَسِرَ خُسْرَانًا مُّبِينًا

wa-la-uḍillannahum wa-la-umanniyannahum wa-la-āmurannahum fa-la-yubattikunna ādhāna l-anʿāmi wa-la-āmurannahum fa-la-yughayyirunna khalqa allāhi wa-man yattakhidhi l-shayṭāna waliyyan min dūni allāhi fa-qad khasira khusrānan mubīnan

"I will mislead them, and I will create in them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created by Allah." Whoever, forsaking Allah, takes satan for a friend, hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:120

يَعِدُهُمْ وَيُمَنِّيهِمْ وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا

yaʿiduhum wa-yumannīhim wa-mā yaʿiduhumu l-shayṭānu illā ghurūran

Satan makes them promises, and creates in them false desires; but satan's promises are nothing but deception.

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:52

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ وَلَا نَبِىٍّ إِلَّآ إِذَا تَمَنَّىٰٓ أَلْقَى ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فِىٓ أُمْنِيَّتِهِۦ فَيَنسَخُ ٱللَّـهُ مَا يُلْقِى ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ ثُمَّ يُحْكِمُ ٱللَّـهُ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

wa-mā arsalnā min qablika min rrasūlin wa-lā nabiyyin illā idhā tamannā alqā l-shayṭānu fī umnīyatihi fa-yansakhu allāhu mā yulqī l-shayṭānu thumma yuḥkimu allāhu āyātihi wallāhu ʿalīmun ḥakīmun

Never did We send a messenger or a prophet before thee, but, when he framed a desire, Satan threw some (vanity) into his desire: but Allah will cancel anything (vain) that Satan throws in, and Allah will confirm (and establish) His Signs: for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom:

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:82

وَأَصْبَحَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوْا۟ مَكَانَهُۥ بِٱلْأَمْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقْدِرُ لَوْلَآ أَن مَّنَّ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا وَيْكَأَنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ

wa-aṣbaḥa lladhīna tamannaw makānahu bil-amsi yaqūlūna way-ka-anna allāha yabsuṭu l-rizqa li-man yashāʾu min ʿibādihi wa-yaqdiru lawlā an manna allāhu ʿalaynā la-khasafa binā way-ka-annahu lā yufliḥu l-kāfirūna

And those who had envied his position the day before began to say on the morrow: "Ah! it is indeed Allah Who enlarges the provision or restricts it, to any of His servants He pleases! had it not been that Allah was gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up! Ah! those who reject Allah will assuredly never prosper."

Sura al-Najm 53:24

أَمْ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ

am lil-insāni mā tamannā

Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after?

Sura al-Najm 53:46

مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ

min nuṭfatin idhā tumnā

From a seed when lodged (in its place);

Sura al-Wāqiʿah 56:58

أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ

a-fa-raʾaytum mā tumnūna

Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,-

Sura al-Jumuʿah 62:6

قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوٓا۟ إِن زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ لِلَّـهِ مِن دُونِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا۟ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

qul yā-ayyuhā lladhīna hādū in zaʿamtum annakum awliyāʾu lillāhi min dūni l-nāsi fa-tamannawu l-mawtā in kuntum ṣādiqīna

Say: "O ye that stand on Judaism! If ye think that ye are friends to Allah, to the exclusion of (other) men, then express your desire for Death, if ye are truthful!"

Sura al-Jumuʿah 62:7

وَلَا يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُۥٓ أَبَدًۢا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

wa-lā yatamannawnahu abadan bi-mā qaddamat aydīhim wallāhu ʿalīmun bil-ẓālimīna

But never will they express their desire (for Death), because of the (deeds) their hands have sent on before them! and Allah knows well those that do wrong!

Sura al-Qiyāmah 75:37

أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ

a-lam yaku nuṭfatan min maniyyin yumnā

Was he not a drop of sperm emitted (in lowly form)?
