(2:132) | وَوَصَّىٰ بِهَآ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ يَٰبَنِىَّ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰ لَكُمُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ | wa‑waṣṣa bihā ibrāhīmu banīhi wa‑yaʿqūbu yā‑baniyya inna allāha iṣṭafā lakumu l‑dīna fa‑lā tamūtunna illā wa‑antum muslimūna | And this was the legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so
did Jacob; "Oh my sons! Allah hath chosen the Faith for you; then die not
except in the Faith of Islam."

(2:243) | أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَهُمْ أُلُوفٌ حَذَرَ ٱلْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ مُوتُوا۟ ثُمَّ أَحْيَٰهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ | a‑lam tara ilā lladhīna kharajū min diyārihim wa‑hum ulūfun ḥadhara l‑mawti fa‑qāla lahumu allāhu mūtū thumma aḥyāhum inna allāha la‑dhū faḍlin ʿalā l‑nāsi wa‑lākinna akthara l‑nāsi lā yashkurūna | Didst thou not Turn by vision to those who abandoned their
homes, though they were thousands (In number), for fear of death? Allah said
to them: "Die": Then He restored them to life. For Allah is full of bounty to
mankind, but Most of them are ungrateful.
Sura al-Baqara 2:243 أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَهُمْ أُلُوفٌ حَذَرَ ٱلْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ مُوتُوا۟ ثُمَّ أَحْيَٰهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ a-lam tara ilā lladhīna kharajū min diyārihim wa-hum ulūfun ḥadhara l-mawti fa-qāla lahumu allāhu mūtū thumma aḥyāhum inna allāha la-dhū faḍlin ʿalā l-nāsi wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yashkurūna Didst thou not Turn by vision to those who abandoned their homes, though they were thousands (In number), for fear of death? Allah said to them: "Die": Then He restored them to life. For Allah is full of bounty to mankind, but Most of them are ungrateful. |
(3:102) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِۦ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ittaqū allāha ḥaqqa tuqātihi wa‑lā tamūtunna illā wa‑antum muslimūna | O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not
except in a state of Islam.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:102 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِۦ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ittaqū allāha ḥaqqa tuqātihi wa-lā tamūtunna illā wa-antum muslimūna O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam. |
(3:119) | هَٰٓأَنتُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ عَضُّوا۟ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ قُلْ مُوتُوا۟ بِغَيْظِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ | hā‑antum ūlāʾi tuḥibbūnahum wa‑lā yuḥibbūnakum wa‑tuminūna bil‑kitābi kullihi wa‑idhā laqūkum qālū āmannā wa‑idhā khalaw ʿaḍḍū ʿalaykumu l‑anāmila mina l‑ghayẓi qul mūtū bighayẓikum inna allāha ʿalīmun bi‑dhāti l‑ṣudūri | Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though
ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We
believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their
fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in you rage; Allah knoweth well
all the secrets of the heart."
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:119 هَٰٓأَنتُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ عَضُّوا۟ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ قُلْ مُوتُوا۟ بِغَيْظِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ hā-antum ūlāʾi tuḥibbūnahum wa-lā yuḥibbūnakum wa-tuminūna bil-kitābi kullihi wa-idhā laqūkum qālū āmannā wa-idhā khalaw ʿaḍḍū ʿalaykumu l-anāmila mina l-ghayẓi qul mūtū bighayẓikum inna allāha ʿalīmun bi-dhāti l-ṣudūri Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in you rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart." |
(3:157) | وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ | wa‑laʾin qutiltum fī sabīli allāhi aw muttum la‑maghfiratun mina allāhi wa‑raḥmatun khayrun mimmā yajmaʿūna | And if ye are slain, or die, in the way of Allah, forgiveness
and mercy from Allah are far better than all they could amass.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:157 وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ wa-laʾin qutiltum fī sabīli allāhi aw muttum la-maghfiratun mina allāhi wa-raḥmatun khayrun mimmā yajmaʿūna And if ye are slain, or die, in the way of Allah, forgiveness and mercy from Allah are far better than all they could amass. |
(3:158) | وَلَئِن مُّتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى ٱللَّـهِ تُحْشَرُونَ | wa‑laʾin muttum aw qutiltum la‑ilā allāhi tuḥsharūna | And if ye die, or are slain, Lo! it is unto Allah that ye are
brought together.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:158 وَلَئِن مُّتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى ٱللَّـهِ تُحْشَرُونَ wa-laʾin muttum aw qutiltum la-ilā allāhi tuḥsharūna And if ye die, or are slain, Lo! it is unto Allah that ye are brought together. |
(7:25) | قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ | qalā fīhā taḥyawna wa‑fīhā tamūtūna wa‑minhā tukhrajūna | He said: "Therein shall ye live, and therein shall ye die; but
from it shall ye be taken out (at last)."
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:25 قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ qalā fīhā taḥyawna wa-fīhā tamūtūna wa-minhā tukhrajūna He said: "Therein shall ye live, and therein shall ye die; but from it shall ye be taken out (at last)." |
(21:34) | وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ ٱلْخُلْدَ أَفَإِي۟ن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلْخَٰلِدُونَ | wa‑mā jaʿalnā li‑basharin min qablika l‑khulda a‑fa‑īn mitta fa‑humu l‑khālidūna | We granted not to any man before thee permanent life (here):
if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently?
Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:34 وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ ٱلْخُلْدَ أَفَإِي۟ن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلْخَٰلِدُونَ wa-mā jaʿalnā li-basharin min qablika l-khulda a-fa-īn mitta fa-humu l-khālidūna We granted not to any man before thee permanent life (here): if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently? |
(23:35) | أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ | a‑yaʿidukum annakum idhā mittum wa‑kuntum turāban wa‑ʿiẓāman annakum mukhrajūna | "Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones,
ye shall be brought forth (again)?
Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:35 أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ a-yaʿidukum annakum idhā mittum wa-kuntum turāban wa-ʿiẓāman annakum mukhrajūna "Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones, ye shall be brought forth (again)? |
(40:11) | قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ أَمَتَّنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ فَٱعْتَرَفْنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا فَهَلْ إِلَىٰ خُرُوجٍ مِّن سَبِيلٍ | qālū rabbanā amattanā ithnatayni wa‑aḥyaytanā ithnatayni fa‑iʿtarafnā bi‑dhunūbinā fa‑hal ilā khurūjin min sabīlin | They will say: "Our Lord! twice hast Thou made us without
life, and twice hast Thou given us Life! Now have we recognised our sins:
Is there any way out (of this)?"
Sura al-Ghāfir 40:11 قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ أَمَتَّنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ فَٱعْتَرَفْنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا فَهَلْ إِلَىٰ خُرُوجٍ مِّن سَبِيلٍ qālū rabbanā amattanā ithnatayni wa-aḥyaytanā ithnatayni fa-iʿtarafnā bi-dhunūbinā fa-hal ilā khurūjin min sabīlin They will say: "Our Lord! twice hast Thou made us without life, and twice hast Thou given us Life! Now have we recognised our sins: Is there any way out (of this)?" |
