Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:49)

وَإِذْ  نَجَّيْنَٰكُم  مِّنْ  ءَالِ  فِرْعَوْنَ  يَسُومُونَكُمْ  سُوٓءَ  ٱلْعَذَابِ  يُذَبِّحُونَ  أَبْنَآءَكُمْ  وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ  نِسَآءَكُمْ  وَفِى  ذَٰلِكُم  بَلَآءٌ  مِّن  رَّبِّكُمْ  عَظِيمٌ wa‑idh najjaynākum min āli firʿawna yasūmūnakum suʾa l‑ʿadhābi yudhabbiḥūna abnāʾakum wa‑yastaḥyūna nisāʾakum wa‑fī dhālikum balāʾun min rabbikum ʿaẓīmun
And remember, We delivered you from the people of Pharaoh: They set you hard tasks and punishments, slaughtered your sons and let your women-folk live; therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord.
(2:50)

And remember We divided the sea for you and saved you and drowned Pharaoh's people within your very sight.

Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)
(6:63)

قُلْ  مَن  يُنَجِّيكُم  مِّن  ظُلُمَٰتِ  ٱلْبَرِّ  وَٱلْبَحْرِ  تَدْعُونَهُۥ  تَضَرُّعًا  وَخُفْيَةً  لَّئِنْ  أَنجَىٰنَا  مِنْ  هَٰذِهِۦ  لَنَكُونَنَّ  مِنَ  ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ qul man yunajjīkum min ẓulumāti l‑barri wa‑l‑baḥri tadʿūnahu taḍarruʿan wa‑khufyatan la‑in anjānā min hādhihi la‑nakūnanna mina l‑shākirīna
Say: "Who is it that delivereth you from the dark recesses of land and sea, when ye call upon Him in humility and silent terror: 'If He only delivers us from these (dangers), (we vow) we shall truly show our gratitude'?"
(6:64)

Say "It is Allah that delivereth you from these and all (other) distresses: and yet ye worship false gods!"

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:64)

But they rejected him, and We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark: but We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our signs. They were indeed a blind people!
(7:72)

We saved him and those who adhered to him. By Our mercy, and We cut off the roots of those who rejected Our signs and did not believe.
(7:83)

But we saved him and his family, except his wife: she was of those who legged behind.
(7:89)

قَدِ  ٱفْتَرَيْنَا  عَلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  كَذِبًا  إِنْ  عُدْنَا  فِى  مِلَّتِكُم  بَعْدَ  إِذْ  نَجَّىٰنَا  ٱللَّـهُ  مِنْهَا  وَمَا  يَكُونُ  لَنَآ  أَن  نَّعُودَ  فِيهَآ  إِلَّآ  أَن  يَشَآءَ  ٱللَّـهُ  رَبُّنَا  وَسِعَ  رَبُّنَا  كُلَّ  شَىْءٍ  عِلْمًا  عَلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  تَوَكَّلْنَا  رَبَّنَا  ٱفْتَحْ  بَيْنَنَا  وَبَيْنَ  قَوْمِنَا  بِٱلْحَقِّ  وَأَنتَ  خَيْرُ  ٱلْفَٰتِحِينَ qadi iftaraynā ʿalā allāhi kadhiban in ʿudnā millatikum baʿda idh najjanā allāhu minhā wa‑mā yakūnu lanā an naʿūda fīhā illā an yashāʾa allāhu rabbunā wasiʿa rabbunā kulla shayʾin ʿilman ʿalā allāhi tawakkalnā rabbanā iftaḥ baynanā wa‑bayna qawminā bil‑ḥaqqi wa‑anta khayru l‑fātiḥīna
"We should indeed invent a lie against Allah, if we returned to your ways after Allah hath rescued us therefrom; nor could we by any manner of means return thereto unless it be as in the will and plan of Allah, Our Lord. Our Lord can reach out to the utmost recesses of things by His knowledge. In the Allah is our trust. our Lord! decide Thou between us and our people in truth, for Thou art the best to decide."
(7:141)

وَإِذْ  أَنجَيْنَٰكُم  مِّنْ  ءَالِ  فِرْعَوْنَ  يَسُومُونَكُمْ  سُوٓءَ  ٱلْعَذَابِ  يُقَتِّلُونَ  أَبْنَآءَكُمْ  وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ  نِسَآءَكُمْ  وَفِى  ذَٰلِكُم  بَلَآءٌ  مِّن  رَّبِّكُمْ  عَظِيمٌ wa‑idh anjaynākum min āli firʿawna yasūmūnakum suʾa l‑ʿadhābi yuqattilūna abnāʾakum wa‑yastaḥyūna nisāʾakum wa‑fī dhālikum balāʾun min rabbikum ʿaẓīmun
And remember We rescued you from Pharaoh's people, who afflicted you with the worst of penalties, who slew your male children and saved alive your females: in that was a momentous trial from your Lord.
(7:165)

فَلَمَّا  نَسُوا۟  مَا  ذُكِّرُوا۟  بِهِۦٓ  أَنجَيْنَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  يَنْهَوْنَ  عَنِ  ٱلسُّوٓءِ  وَأَخَذْنَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ظَلَمُوا۟  بِعَذَابٍۭ  بَـِٔيسٍۭ  بِمَا  كَانُوا۟  يَفْسُقُونَ fa‑lammā nasū dhukkirū bihi anjaynā lladhīna yanhawna ʿani l‑sūʾi wa‑akhadhnā lladhīna ẓalamū biʿadhābin baʾīsin bi‑mā kānū yafsuqūna
When they disregarded the warnings that had been given them, We rescued those who forbade Evil; but We visited the wrong-doers with a grievous punishment because they were given to transgression.

Surah 10 Yūnus (Jonah)
(10:22)

He it is Who enableth you to traverse through land and sea; so that ye even board ships;- they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they rejoice thereat; then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think they are being overwhelmed: they cry unto Allah, sincerely offering (their) duty unto Him saying, "If thou dost deliver us from this, we shall truly show our gratitude!"
(10:23)

فَلَمَّآ  أَنجَىٰهُمْ  إِذَا  هُمْ  يَبْغُونَ  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  بِغَيْرِ  ٱلْحَقِّ  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلنَّاسُ  إِنَّمَا  بَغْيُكُمْ  عَلَىٰٓ  أَنفُسِكُم  مَّتَٰعَ  ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ  ٱلدُّنْيَا  ثُمَّ  إِلَيْنَا  مَرْجِعُكُمْ  فَنُنَبِّئُكُم  بِمَا  كُنتُمْ  تَعْمَلُونَ fa‑lammā anjahum idhā hum yabghūna l‑arḍi bi‑ghayri l‑ḥaqqi yā‑ayyuhā l‑nāsu innamā baghyukum ʿala anfusikum matāʿa l‑ḥayāti l‑dunyā thumma ilaynā marjiʿukum fa‑nunabbiʾukum bi‑mā kuntum taʿmalūna
But when he delivereth them, behold! they transgress insolently through the earth in defiance of right! O mankind! your insolence is against your own souls,- an enjoyment of the life of the present: in the end, to Us is your return, and We shall show you the truth of all that ye did.
(10:73)

فَكَذَّبُوهُ  فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ  وَمَن  مَّعَهُۥ  فِى  ٱلْفُلْكِ  وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ  خَلَٰٓئِفَ  وَأَغْرَقْنَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَذَّبُوا۟  بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا  فَٱنظُرْ  كَيْفَ  كَانَ  عَٰقِبَةُ  ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ fa‑kadhdhabūhu fa‑najjaynāhu wa‑man maʿahu l‑fulki wa‑jaʿalnāhum khalāʾifa wa‑aghraqnā lladhīna kadhdhabū bi‑āyātinā fa‑inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l‑mundharīna
They rejected Him, but We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark, and We made them inherit (the earth), while We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our Signs. Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not)!
(10:86)

وَنَجِّنَا  بِرَحْمَتِكَ  مِنَ  ٱلْقَوْمِ  ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ wa‑najjinā bi‑raḥmatika mina l‑qawmi l‑kāfirīna
"And deliver us by Thy Mercy from those who reject (Thee)."
(10:92)

فَٱلْيَوْمَ  نُنَجِّيكَ  بِبَدَنِكَ  لِتَكُونَ  لِمَنْ  خَلْفَكَ  ءَايَةً  وَإِنَّ  كَثِيرًا  مِّنَ  ٱلنَّاسِ  عَنْ  ءَايَٰتِنَا  لَغَٰفِلُونَ fa‑l‑yawma nunajjīka bibadanika li‑takūna liman khalfaka āyatan wa‑inna kathīran mina l‑nāsi ʿan āyātinā la‑ghāfilūna
"This day shall We save thee in the body, that thou mayest be a sign to those who come after thee! but verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Signs!"
(10:103)

In the end We deliver Our messengers and those who believe: Thus is it fitting on Our part that We should deliver those who believe!

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:58)

So when Our decree issued, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by (special) Grace from Ourselves: We saved them from a severe penalty.
(11:66)

When Our Decree issued, We saved Salih and those who believed with him, by (special) Grace from Ourselves - and from the Ignominy of that day. For thy Lord - He is the Strong One, and able to enforce His Will.
(11:94)

When Our decree issued, We saved Shu'aib and those who believed with him, by (special) mercy from Ourselves: But the (mighty) blast did seize the wrong-doers, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning,-
(11:116)

فَلَوْلَا  كَانَ  مِنَ  ٱلْقُرُونِ  مِن  قَبْلِكُمْ  أُو۟لُوا۟  بَقِيَّةٍ  يَنْهَوْنَ  عَنِ  ٱلْفَسَادِ  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  إِلَّا  قَلِيلًا  مِّمَّنْ  أَنجَيْنَا  مِنْهُمْ  وَٱتَّبَعَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ظَلَمُوا۟  مَآ  أُتْرِفُوا۟  فِيهِ  وَكَانُوا۟  مُجْرِمِينَ fa‑lawlā kāna mina l‑qurūni min qablikum ūlū baqīyatin yanhawna ʿani l‑fasādi l‑arḍi illā qalīlan mimman anjaynā minhum wa‑ittabaʿa lladhīna ẓalamū utrifū fīhi wa‑kānū mujrimīna
Why were there not, among the generations before you, persons possessed of balanced good sense, prohibiting (men) from mischief in the earth - except a few among them whom We saved (from harm)? But the wrong-doers pursued the enjoyment of the good things of life which were given them, and persisted in sin.

Surah 12 Yūsuf (Joseph)
(12:45)

But the man who had been released, one of the two (who had been in prison) and who now bethought him after (so long) a space of time, said: "I will tell you the truth of its interpretation: send ye me (therefore)."
(12:110)

حَتَّىٰٓ  إِذَا  ٱسْتَيْـَٔسَ  ٱلرُّسُلُ  وَظَنُّوٓا۟  أَنَّهُمْ  قَدْ  كُذِبُوا۟  جَآءَهُمْ  نَصْرُنَا  فَنُجِّىَ  مَن  نَّشَآءُ  وَلَا  يُرَدُّ  بَأْسُنَا  عَنِ  ٱلْقَوْمِ  ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ḥatta idhā istayʾasa l‑rusulu wa‑ẓannū annahum qad kudhibū jāʾahum naṣrunā fa‑nujjiya man nashāʾu wa‑lā yuraddu baʾsunā ʿani l‑qawmi l‑mujrimīna
(Respite will be granted) until, when the messengers give up hope (of their people) and (come to) think that they were treated as liars, there reaches them Our help, and those whom We will are delivered into safety. But never will be warded off our punishment from those who are in sin.

Surah 14 Ibrāhīm (Abraham)
(14:6)

وَإِذْ  قَالَ  مُوسَىٰ  لِقَوْمِهِ  ٱذْكُرُوا۟  نِعْمَةَ  ٱللَّـهِ  عَلَيْكُمْ  إِذْ  أَنجَىٰكُم  مِّنْ  ءَالِ  فِرْعَوْنَ  يَسُومُونَكُمْ  سُوٓءَ  ٱلْعَذَابِ  وَيُذَبِّحُونَ  أَبْنَآءَكُمْ  وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ  نِسَآءَكُمْ  وَفِى  ذَٰلِكُم  بَلَآءٌ  مِّن  رَّبِّكُمْ  عَظِيمٌ wa‑idh qalā mūsā li‑qawmihi idhkurū niʿmata allāhi ʿalaykum idh anjakum min āli firʿawna yasūmūnakum suʾa l‑ʿadhābi wa‑yudhabbiḥūna abnāʾakum wa‑yastaḥyūna nisāʾakum wa‑fī dhālikum balāʾun min rabbikum ʿaẓīmun
Remember! Moses said to his people: "Call to mind the favour of Allah to you when He delivered you from the people of Pharaoh: they set you hard tasks and punishments, slaughtered your sons, and let your women-folk live: therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord."

Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel)
(17:67)

وَإِذَا  مَسَّكُمُ  ٱلضُّرُّ  فِى  ٱلْبَحْرِ  ضَلَّ  مَن  تَدْعُونَ  إِلَّآ  إِيَّاهُ  فَلَمَّا  نَجَّىٰكُمْ  إِلَى  ٱلْبَرِّ  أَعْرَضْتُمْ  وَكَانَ  ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ  كَفُورًا wa‑idhā massakumu l‑ḍurru l‑baḥri ḍalla man tadʿūna illā iyyāhu fa‑lammā najjakum ilā l‑barri aʿraḍtum wa‑kāna l‑insānu kafūran
When distress seizes you at sea, those that ye call upon - besides Himself - leave you in the lurch! but when He brings you back safe to land, ye turn away (from Him). Most ungrateful is man!

Surah 19 Maryam (Mary)
(19:72)

But We shall save those who guarded against evil, and We shall leave the wrong-doers therein, (humbled) to their knees.

Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha)
(20:40)

إِذْ  تَمْشِىٓ  أُخْتُكَ  فَتَقُولُ  هَلْ  أَدُلُّكُمْ  عَلَىٰ  مَن  يَكْفُلُهُۥ  فَرَجَعْنَٰكَ  إِلَىٰٓ  أُمِّكَ  كَىْ  تَقَرَّ  عَيْنُهَا  وَلَا  تَحْزَنَ  وَقَتَلْتَ  نَفْسًا  فَنَجَّيْنَٰكَ  مِنَ  ٱلْغَمِّ  وَفَتَنَّٰكَ  فُتُونًا  فَلَبِثْتَ  سِنِينَ  فِىٓ  أَهْلِ  مَدْيَنَ  ثُمَّ  جِئْتَ  عَلَىٰ  قَدَرٍ  يَٰمُوسَىٰ idh tamshī ukhtuka fa‑taqūlu hal adullukum ʿalā man yakfuluhu farajaʿnāka ila ummika kay taqarra ʿaynuhā wa‑lā taḥzana wa‑qatalta nafsan fa‑najjaynāka mina l‑ghammi wa‑fatannāka futūnan fa‑labithta sinīna ahli madyana thumma jiʾta ʿalā qadarin yā‑mūsā
"Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses!
(20:80)

O ye Children of Israel! We delivered you from your enemy, and We made a Covenant with you on the right side of Mount (Sinai), and We sent down to you Manna and quails:

Surah 21 al-Anbiyāʾ (The Prophets)
(21:9)

ثُمَّ  صَدَقْنَٰهُمُ  ٱلْوَعْدَ  فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُمْ  وَمَن  نَّشَآءُ  وَأَهْلَكْنَا  ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ thumma ṣadaqnāhumu l‑waʿda fa‑anjaynāhum wa‑man nashāʾu wa‑ahlaknā l‑musrifīna
In the end We fulfilled to them Our Promise, and We saved them and those whom We pleased, but We destroyed those who transgressed beyond bounds.
(21:71)

But We delivered him and (his nephew) Lut (and directed them) to the land which We have blessed for the nations.
(21:74)

وَلُوطًا  ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ  حُكْمًا  وَعِلْمًا  وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ  مِنَ  ٱلْقَرْيَةِ  ٱلَّتِى  كَانَت  تَّعْمَلُ  ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ  إِنَّهُمْ  كَانُوا۟  قَوْمَ  سَوْءٍ  فَٰسِقِينَ wa‑lūṭan ātaynāhu ḥukman wa‑ʿilman wa‑najjaynāhu mina l‑qaryati allatī kānat ttaʿmalu l‑khabāʾitha innahum kānū qawma sawʾin fāsiqīna
And to Lut, too, We gave Judgment and Knowledge, and We saved him from the town which practised abominations: truly they were a people given to Evil, a rebellious people.
(21:76)

(Remember) Noah, when he cried (to Us) aforetime: We listened to his (prayer) and delivered him and his family from great distress.
(21:88)

So We listened to him: and delivered him from distress: and thus do We deliver those who have faith.

Surah 23 al-Muʾminūn (The Believers)
(23:28)

فَإِذَا  ٱسْتَوَيْتَ  أَنتَ  وَمَن  مَّعَكَ  عَلَى  ٱلْفُلْكِ  فَقُلِ  ٱلْحَمْدُ  لِلَّـهِ  ٱلَّذِى  نَجَّىٰنَا  مِنَ  ٱلْقَوْمِ  ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ fa‑idhā istawayta anta wa‑man maʿaka ʿalā l‑fulki faquli l‑ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī najjanā mina l‑qawmi l‑ẓālimīna
And when thou hast embarked on the Ark - thou and those with thee,- say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who do wrong."

Surah 26 al-Shuʿarā (The Poets)
(26:65)

وَأَنجَيْنَا  مُوسَىٰ  وَمَن  مَّعَهُۥٓ  أَجْمَعِينَ wa‑anjaynā mūsā wa‑man maʿahu ajmaʿīna
We delivered Moses and all who were with him;
(26:118)

فَٱفْتَحْ  بَيْنِى  وَبَيْنَهُمْ  فَتْحًا  وَنَجِّنِى  وَمَن  مَّعِىَ  مِنَ  ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ fa‑iftaḥ baynī wa‑baynahum fatḥan wa‑najjinī wa‑man maʿiya mina l‑muʾminīna
"Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me."
(26:119)

فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ  وَمَن  مَّعَهُۥ  فِى  ٱلْفُلْكِ  ٱلْمَشْحُونِ fa‑anjaynāhu wa‑man maʿahu l‑fulki l‑mashḥūni
So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures).
(26:169)

"O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!"
(26:170)

فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ  وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ  أَجْمَعِينَ fa‑najjaynāhu wa‑ahlahu ajmaʿīna
So We delivered him and his family,- all

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:53)

And We saved those who believed and practised righteousness.
(27:57)

But We saved him and his family, except his wife; her We destined to be of those who lagged behind.

Surah 28 al-Qaṣaṣ (The Narrative)
(28:21)

He therefore got away therefrom, looking about, in a state of fear. He prayed "O my Lord! save me from people given to wrong-doing."
(28:25)

Afterwards one of the (damsels) came (back) to him, walking bashfully. She said: "My father invites thee that he may reward thee for having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear thou not: (well) hast thou escaped from unjust people."

Surah 29 al-ʿAnkabūt (The Spider)
(29:15)

But We saved him and the companions of the Ark, and We made the (Ark) a Sign for all peoples!
(29:24)

فَمَا  كَانَ  جَوَابَ  قَوْمِهِۦٓ  إِلَّآ  أَن  قَالُوا۟  ٱقْتُلُوهُ  أَوْ  حَرِّقُوهُ  فَأَنجَىٰهُ  ٱللَّـهُ  مِنَ  ٱلنَّارِ  إِنَّ  فِى  ذَٰلِكَ  لَءَايَٰتٍ  لِّقَوْمٍ  يُؤْمِنُونَ fa‑mā kāna jawāba qawmihi illā an qālū iqtulūhu aw ḥarriqūhu fa‑ajāhu allāhu mina l‑nāri inna dhālika la‑āyātin li‑qawmin yuʾminūna
So naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe.
(29:32)

قَالَ  إِنَّ  فِيهَا  لُوطًا  قَالُوا۟  نَحْنُ  أَعْلَمُ  بِمَن  فِيهَا  لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥ  وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ  إِلَّا  ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ  كَانَتْ  مِنَ  ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ qalā inna fīhā lūṭan qālū naḥnu aʿlamu biman fīhā la‑nunajjiyannahu wa‑ahlahu illā imraʾatahu kānat mina l‑ghābirīna
He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there : we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!"
(29:65)

Now, if they embark on a boat, they call on Allah, making their devotion sincerely (and exclusively) to Him; but when He has delivered them safely to (dry) land, behold, they give a share (of their worship to others)!-

Surah 31 Luqmān (Lukman)
(31:32)

When a wave covers them like the canopy (of clouds), they call to Allah, offering Him sincere devotion. But when He has delivered them safely to land, there are among them those that halt between (right and wrong). But none reject Our Signs except only a perfidious ungrateful (wretch)!

Surah 37 al-Ṣaffāt (The Rangers)
(37:76)

وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ  وَأَهْلَهُۥ  مِنَ  ٱلْكَرْبِ  ٱلْعَظِيمِ wa‑najjaynāhu wa‑ahlahu mina l‑karbi l‑ʿaẓīmi
And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity,
(37:115)

وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُمَا  وَقَوْمَهُمَا  مِنَ  ٱلْكَرْبِ  ٱلْعَظِيمِ wa‑najjaynāhumā wa‑qawmahumā mina l‑karbi l‑ʿaẓīmi
And We delivered them and their people from (their) Great Calamity;
(37:134)

Behold, We delivered him and his adherents, all
