Surah 21 al-Anbiyāʾ (The Prophets)

(21:63)

قَالَ  بَلْ  فَعَلَهُۥ  كَبِيرُهُمْ  هَٰذَا  فَسْـَٔلُوهُمْ  إِن  كَانُوا۟  يَنطِقُونَ qalā bal faʿalahu kabīruhum hādhā fa‑sʾalūhum in kānū yanṭiqūna
He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one! ask them, if they can speak intelligently!"
(21:65)

ثُمَّ  نُكِسُوا۟  عَلَىٰ  رُءُوسِهِمْ  لَقَدْ  عَلِمْتَ  مَا  هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ  يَنطِقُونَ thumma nukisū ʿalā ruʾūsihim la‑qad ʿalimta hāʾulāʾi yanṭiqūna
Then were they confounded with shame: (they said), "Thou knowest full well that these (idols) do not speak!"

Surah 23 al-Muʾminūn (The Believers)
(23:62)

وَلَا  نُكَلِّفُ  نَفْسًا  إِلَّا  وُسْعَهَا  وَلَدَيْنَا  كِتَٰبٌ  يَنطِقُ  بِٱلْحَقِّ  وَهُمْ  لَا  يُظْلَمُونَ wa‑lā nukallifu nafsan illā wusʿahā wa‑la‑daynā kitābun yanṭiqu bil‑ḥaqqi wa‑hum yuẓlamūna
On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged.

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:85)

وَوَقَعَ  ٱلْقَوْلُ  عَلَيْهِم  بِمَا  ظَلَمُوا۟  فَهُمْ  لَا  يَنطِقُونَ wa‑waqaʿa l‑qawlu ʿalayhim bi‑mā ẓalamū fa‑hum yanṭiqūna
And the Word will be fulfilled against them, because of their wrong-doing, and they will be unable to speak (in plea).

Surah 37 al-Ṣaffāt (The Rangers)
(37:92)

مَا  لَكُمْ  لَا  تَنطِقُونَ la‑kum tanṭiqūna
"What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?"

Surah 41 Fuṣṣilat (Revelations Well Expounded)
(41:21)

وَقَالُوا۟  لِجُلُودِهِمْ  لِمَ  شَهِدتُّمْ  عَلَيْنَا  قَالُوٓا۟  أَنطَقَنَا  ٱللَّـهُ  ٱلَّذِىٓ  أَنطَقَ  كُلَّ  شَىْءٍ  وَهُوَ  خَلَقَكُمْ  أَوَّلَ  مَرَّةٍ  وَإِلَيْهِ  تُرْجَعُونَ wa‑qālū li‑julūdihim lima shahidttum ʿalaynā qālū anṭaqanā allāhu alladhī anṭaqa kulla shayʾin wa‑huwa khalaqakum awwala marratin wa‑ilayhi turjaʿūna
They will say to their skins: "Why bear ye witness against us?" They will say: "Allah hath given us speech,- (He) Who giveth speech to everything: He created you for the first time, and unto Him were ye to return.

Surah 45 al-Jāthiyah (The Kneeling)
(45:29)

هَٰذَا  كِتَٰبُنَا  يَنطِقُ  عَلَيْكُم  بِٱلْحَقِّ  إِنَّا  كُنَّا  نَسْتَنسِخُ  مَا  كُنتُمْ  تَعْمَلُونَ hādhā kitābunā yanṭiqu ʿalaykum bil‑ḥaqqi innā kunnā nastansikhu kuntum taʿmalūna
"This Our Record speaks about you with truth: For We were wont to put on Record all that ye did."

Surah 51 al-Dhāriyāt (The Scatterers)
(51:23)

فَوَرَبِّ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  وَٱلْأَرْضِ  إِنَّهُۥ  لَحَقٌّ  مِّثْلَ  مَآ  أَنَّكُمْ  تَنطِقُونَ fa‑warabbi l‑samāʾi wa‑l‑arḍi innahu la‑ḥaqqun mithla annakum tanṭiqūna
Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other.

Surah 53 al-Najm (The Star)
(53:3)

وَمَا  يَنطِقُ  عَنِ  ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ wa‑mā yanṭiqu ʿani l‑hawā
Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire.

Surah 77 al-Mursalāt (The Emissaries)
(77:35)

هَٰذَا  يَوْمُ  لَا  يَنطِقُونَ hādhā yawmu yanṭiqūna
That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak.
