Sura al-Baqara 2:50

وَإِذْ فَرَقْنَا بِكُمُ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَأَنجَيْنَٰكُمْ وَأَغْرَقْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ

wa-idh faraqnā bikumu l-baḥra fa-anjaynākum wa-aghraqnā āla firʿawna wa-antum tanẓurūna

And remember We divided the sea for you and saved you and drowned Pharaoh's people within your very sight.

Sura al-Baqara 2:55

وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى ٱللَّـهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ

wa-idh qultum yā-mūsā lan nuʾmina la-ka ḥattā narā allāha jahratan fa-akhadhatkumu l-ṣāʿiqatu wa-antum tanẓurūna

And remember ye said: "O Moses! We shall never believe in thee until we see Allah manifestly," but ye were dazed with thunder and lighting even as ye looked on.

Sura al-Baqara 2:104

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَقُولُوا۟ رَٰعِنَا وَقُولُوا۟ ٱنظُرْنَا وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā taqūlū rāʿinā wa-qūlū unẓurnā wa-ismaʿū wa-lil-kāfirīna ʿadhābun alīmun

O ye of Faith! Say not (to the Messenger) words of ambiguous import, but words of respect; and hearken (to him): To those without Faith is a grievous punishment.

Sura al-Baqara 2:259

أَوْ كَٱلَّذِى مَرَّ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ وَهِىَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا قَالَ أَنَّىٰ يُحْىِۦ هَٰذِهِ ٱللَّـهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا فَأَمَاتَهُ ٱللَّـهُ مِا۟ئَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُۥ قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتَ قَالَ لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ قَالَ بَل لَّبِثْتَ مِا۟ئَةَ عَامٍ فَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ وَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰ حِمَارِكَ وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ ءَايَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْعِظَامِ كَيْفَ نُنشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكْسُوهَا لَحْمًا فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُۥ قَالَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

aw ka-lladhī marra ʿalā qaryatin wahiya khāwiyatun ʿalā ʿurūshihā qalā annā yuḥyi hādhihi allāhu baʿda mawtihā fa-amātahu allāhu miʾata ʿāmin thumma baʿathahu qalā kam labithta qalā labithtu yawman aw baʿḍa yawmin qalā bal llabithta miʾata ʿāmin fa-inẓur ilā ṭaʿāmika wa-sharābika lam yatasannah wa-unẓur ilā ḥimārika wa-li-najʿalaka āyatan lil-nāsi wa-unẓur ilā l-ʿiẓāmi kayfa nunshizuhā thumma naksūhā laḥman fa-lammā tabayyana lahu qalā aʿlamu annā allāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

Or (take) the similitude of one who passed by a hamlet, all in ruins to its roofs. He said: "Oh! how shall Allah bring it (ever) to life, after (this) its death?" but Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then raised him up (again). He said: "How long didst thou tarry (thus)?" He said: (Perhaps) a day or part of a day." He said: "Nay, thou hast tarried thus a hundred years; but look at thy food and thy drink; they show no signs of age; and look at thy donkey: And that We may make of thee a sign unto the people, Look further at the bones, how We bring them together and clothe them with flesh." When this was shown clearly to him, he said: "I know that Allah hath power over all things."

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:137

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

qad khalat min qablikum sunanun fa-sīrū fī l-arḍi fa-inẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mukadhdhibīna

Many were the Ways of Life that have passed away before you: travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who rejected Truth.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:143

وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ

wa-la-qad kuntum tamannawna l-mawtā min qabli an talqawhu fa-qad raaytumūhu wa-antum tanẓurūna

Ye did indeed wish for death before ye met him: Now ye have seen him with your own eyes, (And ye flinch!)

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:46

مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ يُحَرِّفُونَ ٱلْكَلِمَ عَن مَّوَاضِعِهِۦ وَيَقُولُونَ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَٱسْمَعْ غَيْرَ مُسْمَعٍ وَرَٰعِنَا لَيًّۢا بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ وَطَعْنًا فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا وَٱسْمَعْ وَٱنظُرْنَا لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَأَقْوَمَ وَلَٰكِن لَّعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

mina lladhīna hādū yuḥarrifūna l-kalima ʿan mawāḍiʿihi wa-yaqūlūna samiʿnā wa-ʿaṣaynā wa-ismaʿ ghayra musmaʿin wa-rāʿinā layyan bi-alsinatihim wa-ṭaʿnan fī l-dīni wa-law annahum qālū samiʿnā wa-aṭaʿnā wa-ismaʿ wa-anẓurnā la-kāna khayran lahum wa-aqwama wa-lākin laʿanahumu allāhu bi-kufrihim fa-lā yuʾminūna illā qalīlan

Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith. If only they had said: "We hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:50

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِۦٓ إِثْمًا مُّبِينًا

inẓur kayfa yaftarūna ʿalā allāhi l-kadhiba wa-kafā bihi ithman mubīnan

Behold! how they invent a lie against Allah! but that by itself is a manifest sin!

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:75

مَّا ٱلْمَسِيحُ ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ وَأُمُّهُۥ صِدِّيقَةٌ كَانَا يَأْكُلَانِ ٱلطَّعَامَ ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱنظُرْ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ

mā l-masīḥu ibnu maryama illā rasūlun qad khalat min qablihi l-rusulu wa-ummuhu ṣiddīqatun kānā yakulāni l-ṭaʿāma inẓur kayfa nubayyinu lahumu l-ayāti thumma inẓur annā yuʾfakūna

Christ the son of Mary was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth make His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!

Sura al-Anʿām 6:11

قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ ٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

qul sīrū fī l-arḍi thumma inẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mukadhdhibīna

Say: "Travel through the earth and see what was the end of those who rejected Truth."

Sura al-Anʿām 6:24

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

inẓur kayfa kadhabū ʿala anfusihim wa-ḍalla ʿanhum mā kānū yaftarūna

Behold! how they lie against their own souls! But the (lie) which they invented will leave them in the lurch.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:46

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّـهُ سَمْعَكُمْ وَأَبْصَٰرَكُمْ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُم مَّنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّـهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِهِ ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ ثُمَّ هُمْ يَصْدِفُونَ

qul a-raʾaytum in akhadha allāhu samʿakum wa-abṣārakum wa-khatama ʿalā qulūbikum man ilāhun ghayru allāhi yaʾtīkum bihi inẓur kayfa nuṣarrifu l-ayāti thumma hum yaṣdifūna

Say: "Think ye, if Allah took away your hearing and your sight, and sealed up your hearts, who - a god other than Allah - could restore them to you?" See how We explain the signs by various (symbols); yet they turn aside.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:65

قُلْ هُوَ ٱلْقَادِرُ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابًا مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ أَوْ مِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِكُمْ أَوْ يَلْبِسَكُمْ شِيَعًا وَيُذِيقَ بَعْضَكُم بَأْسَ بَعْضٍ ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَفْقَهُونَ

qul huwa l-qādiru ʿala an yabʿatha ʿalaykum ʿadhāban min fawqikum aw min taḥti arjulikum aw yalbisakum shiyaʿan wa-yudhīqa baʿḍakum baʾsa baʿḍin inẓur kayfa nuṣarrifu l-ayāti la-ʿallahum yafqahūna

Say: "He hath power to send calamities on you, from above and below, or to cover you with confusion in party strife, giving you a taste of mutual vengeance - each from the other." See how We explain the signs by various (symbols); that they may understand.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:99

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ نَبَاتَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهُ خَضِرًا نُّخْرِجُ مِنْهُ حَبًّا مُّتَرَاكِبًا وَمِنَ ٱلنَّخْلِ مِن طَلْعِهَا قِنْوَانٌ دَانِيَةٌ وَجَنَّٰتٍ مِّنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلرُّمَّانَ مُشْتَبِهًا وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَٰبِهٍ ٱنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِۦٓ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكُمْ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

wa-huwa alladhī anzala mina l-samāʾi māʾan fa-akhrajnā bihi nabāta kulli shayʾin fa-akhrajnā minhu khaḍiran nnukhriju minhu ḥabban mutarākiban wa-mina l-nakhli min ṭalʿihā qinwānun dāniyatun wa-jannātin min aʿnābin wa-l-zaytūna wa-l-rummāna mushtabihan wa-ghayra mutashābihin anẓurū ilā thamarihi idhā athmara wa-yanʿihi inna fī dhālikum la-āyātin li-qawmin yuʾminūna

It is He Who sendeth down rain from the skies: with it We produce vegetation of all kinds: from some We produce green (crops), out of which We produce grain, heaped up (at harvest); out of the date-palm and its sheaths (or spathes) (come) clusters of dates hanging low and near: and (then there are) gardens of grapes, and olives, and pomegranates, each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety): when they begin to bear fruit, feast your eyes with the fruit and the ripeness thereof. Behold! in these things there are signs for people who believe.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:158

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ رَبُّكَ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ بَعْضُ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِى بَعْضُ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكَ لَا يَنفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَٰنُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ ءَامَنَتْ مِن قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِىٓ إِيمَٰنِهَا خَيْرًا قُلِ ٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ

hal yanẓurūna illā an taʾtiyahumu l-malāʾikatu aw yaʾtiya rabbuka aw yaʾtiya baʿḍu āyāti rabbika yawma yaʾtī baʿḍu āyāti rabbika lā yanfaʿu nafsan īmānuhā lam takun āmanat min qablu aw kasabat fī īmānihā khayran quli antaẓirū innā muntaẓirūna

Are they waiting to see if the angels come to them, or thy Lord (Himself), or certain of the signs of thy Lord! the day that certain of the signs of thy Lord do come, no good will it do to a soul to believe in them then if it believed not before nor earned righteousness through its faith. Say: "Wait ye: we too are waiting."

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:14

قَالَ أَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

qalā anẓirnī ilā yawmi yubʿathūna

He said: "Give me respite till the day they are raised up."

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:71

قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌ أَتُجَٰدِلُونَنِى فِىٓ أَسْمَآءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

qalā qad waqaʿa ʿalaykum min rabbikum rijsun wa-ghaḍabun a-tujādilūnanī fī asmāʾin sammaytumūhā antum wa-ābāukum mā nazzala allāhu bihā min sulṭānin fa-intaẓirū innī maʿakum mina l-muntaẓirīna

He said: "Punishment and wrath have already come upon you from your Lord: dispute ye with me over names which ye have devised - ye and your fathers,- without authority from Allah? then wait: I am amongst you, also waiting."

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:84

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

wa-amṭarnā ʿalayhim maṭaran fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mujrimīna

And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): Then see what was the end of those who indulged in sin and crime!

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:86

وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا۟ بِكُلِّ صِرَٰطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِهِۦ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ كُنتُمْ قَلِيلًا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ وَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

wa-lā taqʿudū bi-kulli ṣirāṭin tūʿidūna wa-taṣuddūna ʿan sabīli allāhi man āmana bihi wa-tabghūnahā ʿiwajan wa-idhkurū idh kuntum qalīlan fa-kaththarakum wa-anẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mufsidīna

"And squat not on every road, breathing threats, hindering from the path of Allah those who believe in Him, and seeking in it something crooked; But remember how ye were little, and He gave you increase. And hold in your mind's eye what was the end of those who did mischief.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:103

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِ فَظَلَمُوا۟ بِهَا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

thumma baʿathnā min baʿdihim mūsā bi-āyātinā ilā firʿawna wa-malāʾīhi fa-ẓalamū bihā fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mufsidīna

Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them: So see what was the end of those who made mischief.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:143

وَلَمَّا جَآءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَٰتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِىٓ أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ لَن تَرَىٰنِى وَلَٰكِنِ ٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُۥ فَسَوْفَ تَرَىٰنِى فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُۥ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُۥ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا فَلَمَّآ أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa-lammā jāa mūsā limīqātinā wa-kallamahu rabbuhu qalā rabbi arinī anẓur ilayka qalā lan taranī wa-lākini inẓur ilā l-jabali fa-ini staqarra makānahu fa-sawfa taranī fa-lammā tajallā rabbuhu lil-jabali jaʿalahu dakkan wa-kharra mūsā ṣaʿiqan fa-lammā afāqa qalā subḥānaka tubtu ilayka wa-anā awwalu l-muʾminīna

When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: "O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee." Allah said: "By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look upon the mount; if it abide in its place, then shalt thou see Me." When his Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe."

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:195

أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌ يَمْشُونَ بِهَآ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَآ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَآ أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنظِرُونِ

alahum arjulun yamshūna bihā am lahum aydin yabṭishūna bihā am lahum aʿyunun yubṣirūna bihā am lahum ādhānun yasmaʿūna bihā quli idʿū shurakāʾakum thumma kīdūni fa-lā tunẓirūni

Have they feet to walk with? Or hands to lay hold with? Or eyes to see with? Or ears to hear with? Say: "Call your 'god-partners', scheme (your worst) against me, and give me no respite!

Sura Yūnus 10:20

وَيَقُولُونَ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَا ٱلْغَيْبُ لِلَّـهِ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

wa-yaqūlūna lawlā unzila ʿalayhi āyatun min rabbihi fa-qul innamā l-ghaybu lillāhi fa-intaẓirū innī maʿakum mina l-muntaẓirīna

They say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "The Unseen is only for Allah (to know), then wait ye: I too will wait with you."

Sura Yūnus 10:39

بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يُحِيطُوا۟ بِعِلْمِهِۦ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِهِمْ تَأْوِيلُهُۥ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

bal kadhdhabū bi-mā lam yuḥīṭū biʿilmihi wa-lammā yaʾtihim taʾwīluhu ka-dhālika kadhdhaba lladhīna min qablihim fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-ẓālimīna

Nay, they charge with falsehood that whose knowledge they cannot compass, even before the elucidation thereof hath reached them: thus did those before them make charges of falsehood: but see what was the end of those who did wrong!

Sura Yūnus 10:71

وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ نُوحٍ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦ يَٰقَوْمِ إِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكُم مَّقَامِى وَتَذْكِيرِى بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ فَعَلَى ٱللَّـهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ فَأَجْمِعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَكُمْ وَشُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُنْ أَمْرُكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ غُمَّةً ثُمَّ ٱقْضُوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ وَلَا تُنظِرُونِ

wa-itlu ʿalayhim nabaʾa nūḥin idh qalā li-qawmihi yā-qawmi in kāna kabura ʿalaykum maqāmī wa-tadhkīrī bi-āyāti allāhi faʿala allāhi tawakkaltu faajmiʿū amrakum washurakāakum thumma lā yakun amrukum ʿalaykum ghummatan thumma aqḍū ilayya wa-lā tunẓirūni

Relate to them the story of Noah. Behold! he said to his people: "O my people, if it be hard on your (mind) that I should stay (with you) and commemorate the signs of Allah,- yet I put my trust in Allah. Get ye then an agreement about your plan and among your partners, so your plan be on to you dark and dubious. Then pass your sentence on me, and give me no respite.

Sura Yūnus 10:73

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ

fa-kadhdhabūhu fa-najjaynāhu wa-man maʿahu fī l-fulki wa-jaʿalnāhum khalāʾifa wa-aghraqnā lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mundharīna

They rejected Him, but We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark, and We made them inherit (the earth), while We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our Signs. Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not)!

Sura Yūnus 10:101

قُلِ ٱنظُرُوا۟ مَاذَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُغْنِى ٱلْأَيَٰتُ وَٱلنُّذُرُ عَن قَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

quli inẓurū mādhā fī l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-mā tughnī l-ayātu wa-l-nudhuru ʿan qawmin lā yuʾminūna

Say: "Behold all that is in the heavens and on earth"; but neither Signs nor Warners profit those who believe not.

Sura Yūnus 10:102

فَهَلْ يَنتَظِرُونَ إِلَّا مِثْلَ أَيَّامِ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ قُلْ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

fa-hal yantaẓirūna illā mithla ayyāmi lladhīna khalaw min qablihim qul fa-intaẓirū innī maʿakum mina l-muntaẓirīna

Do they then expect (any thing) but (what happened in) the days of the men who passed away before them? Say: "Wait ye then: for I, too, will wait with you."

Sura Hūd 11:55

مِن دُونِهِۦ فَكِيدُونِى جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ لَا تُنظِرُونِ

min dūnihi fa-kīdūnī jamīʿan thumma lā tunẓirūni

"Other gods as partners! so scheme (your worst) against me, all of you, and give me no respite.

Sura Hūd 11:122

وَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ

wa-intaẓirū innā muntaẓirūna

"And wait ye! We too shall wait."

Sura al-Ḥijr 15:36

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

qalā rabbi fa-anẓirnī ilā yawmi yubʿathūna

(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."

Sura al-Naḥl 16:36

وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلطَّٰغُوتَ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى ٱللَّـهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

wa-la-qad baʿathnā fī kulli ummatin rrasūlan ani iʿbudū allāha wa-ijtanibū l-ṭāghūta fa-minhum man hadā allāhu wa-minhum man ḥaqqat ʿalayhi l-ḍalālatu fa-sīrū fī l-arḍi fa-inẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mukadhdhibīna

For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth).

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:21

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ أَكْبَرُ دَرَجَٰتٍ وَأَكْبَرُ تَفْضِيلًا

inẓur kayfa faḍḍalnā baʿḍahum ʿalā baʿḍin wa-lal-ākhiratu akbaru darajātin wa-akbaru tafḍīlan

See how We have bestowed more on some than on others; but verily the Hereafter is more in rank and gradation and more in excellence.

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:48

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ فَضَلُّوا۟ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًا

inẓur kayfa ḍarabū la-ka l-amthāla faḍallū fa-lā yastaṭīʿūna sabīlan

See what similes they strike for thee: but they have gone astray, and never can they find a way.

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:97

قَالَ فَٱذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ أَن تَقُولَ لَا مِسَاسَ وَإِنَّ لَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَّن تُخْلَفَهُۥ وَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِكَ ٱلَّذِى ظَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِفًا لَّنُحَرِّقَنَّهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَنسِفَنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ نَسْفًا

qalā fadhhab fa-inna la-ka fī l-ḥayāti an taqūla lā misāsa wa-inna la-ka mawʿidan lan tukhlafahu wa-unẓur ila ilāhika alladhī ẓalta ʿalayhi ʿākifan la-nuḥarriqannahu thumma la-nansifannahu fī l-yammi nasfan

(Moses) said: "Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, 'touch me not'; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!"

Sura al-Furqān 25:9

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأَمْثَٰلَ فَضَلُّوا۟ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًا

inẓur kayfa ḍarabū la-ka l-amthāla faḍallū fa-lā yastaṭīʿūna sabīlan

See what kinds of comparisons they make for thee! But they have gone astray, and never a way will they be able to find!

Sura al-Naml 27:14

وَجَحَدُوا۟ بِهَا وَٱسْتَيْقَنَتْهَآ أَنفُسُهُمْ ظُلْمًا وَعُلُوًّا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

wa-jaḥadū bihā wa-istayqanathā anfusuhum ẓulman wa-ʿulūwan fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mufsidīna

And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly!

Sura al-Naml 27:28

ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَٰبِى هَٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ

idhhab bi-kitābī hādhā fa-alqih ilayhim thumma tawalla ʿanhum fa-anẓur mādhā yarjiʿūna

"Go thou, with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them: then draw back from them, and (wait to) see what answer they return"...

Sura al-Naml 27:33

قَالُوا۟ نَحْنُ أُو۟لُوا۟ قُوَّةٍ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ وَٱلْأَمْرُ إِلَيْكِ فَٱنظُرِى مَاذَا تَأْمُرِينَ

qālū naḥnu ūlū quwwatin wa-ūlū baʾsin shadīdin wa-l-amru ilayki fa-inẓurī mādhā taʾmurīna

They said: "We are endued with strength, and given to vehement war: but the command is with thee; so consider what thou wilt command."

Sura al-Naml 27:51

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنَّا دَمَّرْنَٰهُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu makrihim annā dammarnāhum wa-qawmahum ajmaʿīna

Then see what was the end of their plot!- this, that We destroyed them and their people, all (of them).

Sura al-Naml 27:69

قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

qul sīrū fī l-arḍi fa-inẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mujrimīna

Say: "Go ye through the earth and see what has been the end of those guilty (of sin)."

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:40

فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

fa-akhadhnāhu wa-junūdahu fa-nabadhnāhum fī l-yammi fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-ẓālimīna

So We seized him and his hosts, and We flung them into the sea: Now behold what was the end of those who did wrong!

Sura al-ʿAnkabūt 29:20

قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ بَدَأَ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ ٱللَّـهُ يُنشِئُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأَخِرَةَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

qul sīrū fī l-arḍi fa-inẓurū kayfa badaʾa l-khalqa thumma allāhu yunshiʾu l-nashʾata l-akhirata inna allāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things.

Sura al-Rūm 30:42

قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلُ كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّشْرِكِينَ

qul sīrū fī l-arḍi fa-inẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu lladhīna min qablu kāna aktharuhum mushrikīna

Say: "Travel through the earth and see what was the end of those before (you): Most of them worshipped others besides Allah."

Sura al-Rūm 30:50

فَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِ رَحْمَتِ ٱللَّـهِ كَيْفَ يُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

fa-inẓur ila āthāri raḥmati allāhi kayfa yuḥyi l-arḍa baʿda mawtihā inna dhālika la-muḥi l-mawtā wa-huwa ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

Then contemplate (O man!) the memorials of Allah's Mercy!- how He gives life to the earth after its death: verily the same will give life to the men who are dead: for He has power over all things.

Sura al-Sajdah 32:30

فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَٱنتَظِرْ إِنَّهُم مُّنتَظِرُونَ

fa-aʿriḍ ʿanhum wa-intaẓir innahum muntaẓirūna

So turn away from them, and wait: they too are waiting.

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:73

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ

fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mundharīna

Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),-

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:102

فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ قَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

fa-lammā balagha maʿahu l-saʿya qalā yā-bunayya innī ara fī l-manāmi annī adhbaḥuka fa-inẓur mādhā tara qalā yā-abati ifʿal mā tuʾmaru sa-tajidunī in shāʾa allāhu mina l-ṣābirīna

Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!"

Sura Ṣād 38:79

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

qalā rabbi fa-anẓirnī ilā yawmi yubʿathūna

(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."

Sura al-Zukhruf 43:25

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

fa-intaqamnā minhum fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mukadhdhibīna

So We exacted retribution from them: now see what was the end of those who rejected (Truth)!
