(11:88) | قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ | qalā yā‑qawmi a‑raʾaytum in kuntu ʿalā bayyinatin min rrabbī wa‑razaqanī minhu rizqan ḥasanan wa‑mā urīdu an ukhālifakum ilā mā anhakum ʿanhu in urīdu illā l‑iṣlāḥa mā istaṭaʿtu wa‑mā tawfīqī illā billāhi ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa‑ilayhi unību | He said: "O my people! see ye whether I have a Clear (Sign)
from my Lord, and He hath given me sustenance (pure and) good as from
Himself? I wish not, in opposition to you, to do that which I forbid you to
do. I only desire (your) betterment to the best of my power; and my success
(in my task) can only come from Allah. In Him I trust, and unto Him I look.
Sura Hūd 11:88 قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ qalā yā-qawmi a-raʾaytum in kuntu ʿalā bayyinatin min rrabbī wa-razaqanī minhu rizqan ḥasanan wa-mā urīdu an ukhālifakum ilā mā anhakum ʿanhu in urīdu illā l-iṣlāḥa mā istaṭaʿtu wa-mā tawfīqī illā billāhi ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi unību He said: "O my people! see ye whether I have a Clear (Sign) from my Lord, and He hath given me sustenance (pure and) good as from Himself? (13:27) | وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَنْ أَنَابَ | wa‑yaqūlu lladhīna kafarū lawlā unzila ʿalayhi āyatun min rabbihi qul inna allāha yuḍillu man yashāʾu wa‑yahdī ilayhi man anāba | The Unbelievers say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from
his Lord?" Say: "Truly Allah leaveth, to stray, whom He will; But He guideth
to Himself those who turn to Him in penitence,-
Sura al-Raʿd 13:27 وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَنْ أَنَابَ wa-yaqūlu lladhīna kafarū lawlā unzila ʿalayhi āyatun min rabbihi qul inna allāha yuḍillu man yashāʾu wa-yahdī ilayhi man anāba The Unbelievers say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "Truly Allah leaveth, to stray, whom He will; But He guideth to Himself those who turn to Him in penitence,- |
(31:15) | وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا وَٱتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | wa‑in jāhadāka ʿala an tushrika bī mā laysa la‑ka bihi ʿilmun fa‑lā tuṭiʿhumā wa‑ṣāḥibhumā fī l‑dunyā maʿrūfan wa‑ittabiʿ sabīla man anāba ilayya thumma ilayya marjiʿukum faunabbiukum bi‑mā kuntum taʿmalūna | "But if they strive to make thee join in worship with Me
things of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them
company in this life with justice (and consideration), and follow the way
of those who turn to me (in love): in the end the return of you all is to
Me, and I will tell you the truth (and meaning) of all that ye did."
Sura Luqmān 31:15 وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا وَٱتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ wa-in jāhadāka ʿala an tushrika bī mā laysa la-ka bihi ʿilmun fa-lā tuṭiʿhumā wa-ṣāḥibhumā fī l-dunyā maʿrūfan wa-ittabiʿ sabīla man anāba ilayya thumma ilayya marjiʿukum faunabbiukum bi-mā kuntum taʿmalūna "But if they strive to make thee join in worship with Me things of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration), and follow the way of those who turn to me (in love): in the end the return of you all is to Me, and I will tell you the truth (and meaning) of all that ye did." |
(38:24) | قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِهِۦ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْخُلَطَآءِ لَيَبْغِى بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَّا هُمْ وَظَنَّ دَاوُۥدُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّٰهُ فَٱسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُۥ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَأَنَابَ | qalā la‑qad ẓalamaka bi‑suʾāli naʿjatika ilā niʿājihi wa‑inna kathīran mina l‑khulaṭāʾi la‑yabghī baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin illā lladhīna āmanū wa‑ʿamilū l‑ṣāliḥāti wa‑qalīlun mā hum wa‑ẓanna dāwudu annamā fatannāhu fa‑istaghfara rabbahu wa‑kharra rākiʿan wa‑anāba | (David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding
thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the
partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe
and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"...and David
gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell
down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance).
Sura Ṣād 38:24 قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِهِۦ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْخُلَطَآءِ لَيَبْغِى بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَّا هُمْ وَظَنَّ دَاوُۥدُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّٰهُ فَٱسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُۥ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَأَنَابَ qalā la-qad ẓalamaka bi-suʾāli naʿjatika ilā niʿājihi wa-inna kathīran mina l-khulaṭāʾi la-yabghī baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin illā lladhīna āmanū wa-ʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti wa-qalīlun mā hum wa-ẓanna dāwudu annamā fatannāhu fa-istaghfara rabbahu wa-kharra rākiʿan wa-anāba (David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"...and David gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance). |
(38:34) | وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِۦ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ | wa‑la‑qad fatannā sulaymāna wa‑alqaynā ʿalā kursiyyihi jasadan thumma anāba | And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body
(without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion):
Sura Ṣād 38:34 وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِۦ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ wa-la-qad fatannā sulaymāna wa-alqaynā ʿalā kursiyyihi jasadan thumma anāba And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion): |
(40:13) | هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُنَزِّلُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقًا وَمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ إِلَّا مَن يُنِيبُ | huwa alladhī yurīkum āyātihi wa‑yunazzilu la‑kum mina l‑samāʾi rizqan wa‑mā yatadhakkaru illā man yunību | He it is Who showeth you his Signs, and sendeth down
sustenance for you from the sky: but only those receive admonition who turn
(to Allah).
Sura al-Ghāfir 40:13 هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُنَزِّلُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقًا وَمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ إِلَّا مَن يُنِيبُ huwa alladhī yurīkum āyātihi wa-yunazzilu la-kum mina l-samāʾi rizqan wa-mā yatadhakkaru illā man yunību He it is Who showeth you his Signs, and sendeth down sustenance for you from the sky: but only those receive admonition who turn (to Allah). |
(42:10) | وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِيهِ مِن شَىْءٍ فَحُكْمُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ رَبِّى عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ | wa‑mā ikhtalaftum fīhi min shayʾin fa‑ḥukmuhu ilā allāhi dhālikumu allāhu rabbī ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa‑ilayhi unību | Whatever it be wherein ye differ, the decision thereof is with
Allah: such is Allah my Lord: In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.
Sura al-Shūrā 42:10 وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِيهِ مِن شَىْءٍ فَحُكْمُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ رَبِّى عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ wa-mā ikhtalaftum fīhi min shayʾin fa-ḥukmuhu ilā allāhi dhālikumu allāhu rabbī ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi unību Whatever it be wherein ye differ, the decision thereof is with Allah: such is Allah my Lord: In Him I trust, and to Him I turn. |
(42:13) | شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِۦ نُوحًا وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِۦٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا۟ فِيهِ كَبُرَ عَلَى ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ ٱللَّـهُ يَجْتَبِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ | sharaʿa la‑kum mina l‑dīni mā waṣṣā bihi nūḥan wa‑alladhī awḥaynā ilayka wa‑mā waṣṣaynā bihi ibrāhīma wa‑mūsa wa‑ʿīsa an aqīmū l‑dīna wa‑lā tatafarraqū fīhi kabura ʿalā l‑mushrikīna mā tadʿūhum ilayhi allāhu yajtabī ilayhi man yashāʾu wa‑yahdī ilayhi man yunību | The same religion has He established for you as that which He
enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that
which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should
remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who
worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest
them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself
those who turn (to Him).
Sura al-Shūrā 42:13 شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِۦ نُوحًا وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِۦٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا۟ فِيهِ كَبُرَ عَلَى ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ ٱللَّـهُ يَجْتَبِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ sharaʿa la-kum mina l-dīni mā waṣṣā bihi nūḥan wa-alladhī awḥaynā ilayka wa-mā waṣṣaynā bihi ibrāhīma wa-mūsa wa-ʿīsa an aqīmū l-dīna wa-lā tatafarraqū fīhi kabura ʿalā l-mushrikīna mā tadʿūhum ilayhi allāhu yajtabī ilayhi man yashāʾu wa-yahdī ilayhi man yunību The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them.
