And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers."

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:92)

لَن  تَنَالُوا۟  ٱلْبِرَّ  حَتَّىٰ  تُنفِقُوا۟  مِمَّا  تُحِبُّونَ  وَمَا  تُنفِقُوا۟  مِن  شَىْءٍ  فَإِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  بِهِۦ  عَلِيمٌ lan tanālū l‑birra ḥattā tunfiqū mimmā tuḥibbūna wa‑mā tunfiqū min shayʾin fa‑inna allāha bihi ʿalīmun
By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, of a truth Allah knoweth it well.

Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)
(5:94)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوا۟  لَيَبْلُوَنَّكُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  بِشَىْءٍ  مِّنَ  ٱلصَّيْدِ  تَنَالُهُۥٓ  أَيْدِيكُمْ  وَرِمَاحُكُمْ  لِيَعْلَمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  مَن  يَخَافُهُۥ  بِٱلْغَيْبِ  فَمَنِ  ٱعْتَدَىٰ  بَعْدَ  ذَٰلِكَ  فَلَهُۥ  عَذَابٌ  أَلِيمٌ yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū layablūannakumu allāhu bi‑shayʾin mina l‑ṣaydi tanāluhu aydīkum wa‑rimāḥukum li‑yaʿlama allāhu man yakhāfuhu bil‑ghaybi fa‑mani aʿtada baʿda dhālika fa‑lahu ʿadhābun alīmun
O ye who believe! Allah doth but make a trial of you in a little matter of game well within reach of game well within reach of your hands and your lances, that He may test who feareth him unseen: any who transgress thereafter, will have a grievous penalty.

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:37)

فَمَنْ  أَظْلَمُ  مِمَّنِ  ٱفْتَرَىٰ  عَلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  كَذِبًا  أَوْ  كَذَّبَ  بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ  يَنَالُهُمْ  نَصِيبُهُم  مِّنَ  ٱلْكِتَٰبِ  حَتَّىٰٓ  إِذَا  جَآءَتْهُمْ  رُسُلُنَا  يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ  قَالُوٓا۟  أَيْنَ  مَا  كُنتُمْ  تَدْعُونَ  مِن  دُونِ  ٱللَّـهِ  قَالُوا۟  ضَلُّوا۟  عَنَّا  وَشَهِدُوا۟  عَلَىٰٓ  أَنفُسِهِمْ  أَنَّهُمْ  كَانُوا۟  كَٰفِرِينَ fa‑man aẓlamu mimmani iftarā ʿalā allāhi kadhiban aw kadhdhaba bi‑āyātihi ulāʾika yanāluhum naṣībuhum mina l‑kitābi ḥatta idhā jāʾathum rusulunā yatawaffawnahum qālū ayna kuntum tadʿūna min dūni allāhi qālū ḍallū ʿannā wa‑shahidū ʿala anfusihim annahum kānū kāfirīna
Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or rejects His Signs? For such, their portion appointed must reach them from the Book (of decrees): until, when our messengers (of death) arrive and take their souls, they say: "Where are the things that ye used to invoke besides Allah?" They will reply, "They have left us in the lurch," And they will bear witness against themselves, that they had rejected Allah.
(7:49)

أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ  ٱلَّذِينَ  أَقْسَمْتُمْ  لَا  يَنَالُهُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  بِرَحْمَةٍ  ٱدْخُلُوا۟  ٱلْجَنَّةَ  لَا  خَوْفٌ  عَلَيْكُمْ  وَلَآ  أَنتُمْ  تَحْزَنُونَ a‑hāʾulāʾi lladhīna aqsamtum yanāluhumu allāhu bi‑raḥmaṭin idkhulū l‑jannata khawfun ʿalaykum wa‑lā antum taḥzanūna
"Behold! are these not the men whom you swore that Allah with His Mercy would never bless? Enter ye the Garden: no fear shall be on you, nor shall ye grieve."
(7:152)

Those who took the calf (for worship) will indeed be overwhelmed with wrath from their Lord, and with shame in this life: thus do We recompense those who invent (falsehoods).

Surah 9 al-Tawbah (Repentance)
(9:74)

يَحْلِفُونَ  بِاللَّـهِ  مَا  قَالُوا۟  وَلَقَدْ  قَالُوا۟  كَلِمَةَ  ٱلْكُفْرِ  وَكَفَرُوا۟  بَعْدَ  إِسْلَٰمِهِمْ  وَهَمُّوا۟  بِمَا  لَمْ  يَنَالُوا۟  وَمَا  نَقَمُوٓا۟  إِلَّآ  أَنْ  أَغْنَىٰهُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  وَرَسُولُهُۥ  مِن  فَضْلِهِۦ  فَإِن  يَتُوبُوا۟  يَكُ  خَيْرًا  لَّهُمْ  وَإِن  يَتَوَلَّوْا۟  يُعَذِّبْهُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَذَابًا  أَلِيمًا  فِى  ٱلدُّنْيَا  وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ  وَمَا  لَهُمْ  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  مِن  وَلِىٍّ  وَلَا  نَصِيرٍ yaḥlifūna billahi qālū wa‑la‑qad qālū kalimata l‑kufri wa‑kafarū baʿda islāmihim wa‑hammū bi‑mā lam yanālū wa‑mā naqamū illā an aghnahumu allāhu wa‑rasūluhu min faḍlihi fa‑in yatūbū yaku khayran lahum wa‑in yatawallaw yuʿadhdhibhumu allāhu ʿadhāban alīman l‑dunyā wa‑l‑akhirati wa‑mā lahum l‑arḍi min waliyyin wa‑lā naṣīrin
They swear by Allah that they said nothing (evil), but indeed they uttered blasphemy, and they did it after accepting Islam; and they meditated a plot which they were unable to carry out: this revenge of theirs was (their) only return for the bounty with which Allah and His Messenger had enriched them! If they repent, it will be best for them; but if they turn back (to their evil ways), Allah will punish them with a grievous penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: They shall have none on earth to protect or help them.
(9:120)

مَا  كَانَ  لِأَهْلِ  ٱلْمَدِينَةِ  وَمَنْ  حَوْلَهُم  مِّنَ  ٱلْأَعْرَابِ  أَن  يَتَخَلَّفُوا۟  عَن  رَّسُولِ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَلَا  يَرْغَبُوا۟  بِأَنفُسِهِمْ  عَن  نَّفْسِهِۦ  ذَٰلِكَ  بِأَنَّهُمْ  لَا  يُصِيبُهُمْ  ظَمَأٌ  وَلَا  نَصَبٌ  وَلَا  مَخْمَصَةٌ  فِى  سَبِيلِ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَلَا  يَطَـُٔونَ  مَوْطِئًا  يَغِيظُ  ٱلْكُفَّارَ  وَلَا  يَنَالُونَ  مِنْ  عَدُوٍّ  نَّيْلًا  إِلَّا  كُتِبَ  لَهُم  بِهِۦ  عَمَلٌ  صَٰلِحٌ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَا  يُضِيعُ  أَجْرَ  ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ kāna li‑ahli l‑madīnati wa‑man ḥawlahum mina l‑aʿrābi an yatakhallafū ʿan rrasūli allāhi wa‑lā yarghabū bi‑anfusihim ʿan nafsihi dhālika bi‑annahum yuṣībuhum ẓamaʾun wa‑lā naṣabun wa‑lā makhmaṣatun sabīli allāhi wa‑lā yaṭaʾūna mawṭian yaghīẓu l‑kuffāra wa‑lā yanālūna min ʿadūwin naylan illā kutiba lahum bihi ʿamalun ṣāliḥun inna allāha yuḍīʿu ajra l‑muḥsinīna
It was not fitting for the people of Medina and the Bedouin Arabs of the neighbourhood, to refuse to follow Allah's Messenger, nor to prefer their own lives to his: because nothing could they suffer or do, but was reckoned to their credit as a deed of righteousness,- whether they suffered thirst, or fatigue, or hunger, in the cause of Allah, or trod paths to raise the ire of the Unbelievers, or received any injury whatever from an enemy: for Allah suffereth not the reward to be lost of those who do good;-

Surah 22 al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
(22:37)

It is not their meat nor their blood, that reaches Allah: it is your piety that reaches Him: He has thus made them subject to you, that ye may glorify Allah for His Guidance to you and proclaim the good news to all who do right.

Surah 33 al-Aḥzāb (The Allies)
(33:25)

And Allah turned back the Unbelievers for (all) their fury: no advantage did they gain; and enough is Allah for the believers in their fight. And Allah is full of Strength, able to enforce His Will.
