(2:53) | وَإِذْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْفُرْقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑idh ātaynā mūsā l‑kitāba wa‑l‑furqāna la‑ʿallakum tahtadūna | And remember We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion
(Between right and wrong): There was a chance for you to be guided aright.
Sura al-Baqara 2:53 وَإِذْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْفُرْقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ wa-idh ātaynā mūsā l-kitāba wa-l-furqāna la-ʿallakum tahtadūna And remember We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion (Between right and wrong): There was a chance for you to be guided aright. |
(2:135) | وَقَالُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا۟ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ | wa‑qālū kūnū hūdan aw naṣārā tahtadū qul bal millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa‑mā kāna mina l‑mushrikīna | They say: "Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (To
salvation)." Say thou: "Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the
True, and he joined not gods with Allah."
Sura al-Baqara 2:135 وَقَالُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا۟ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ wa-qālū kūnū hūdan aw naṣārā tahtadū qul bal millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa-mā kāna mina l-mushrikīna They say: "Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (To salvation)." Say thou: "Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the True, and he joined not gods with Allah." |
(2:137) | فَإِنْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَآ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا هُمْ فِى شِقَاقٍ فَسَيَكْفِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ | fa‑in āmanū bi‑mithli mā āmantum bihi fa‑qadi ihtadaw wa‑in tawallaw fa‑innamā hum fī shiqāqin fa‑sa‑yakfīkahumu allāhu wa‑huwa l‑samīʿu l‑ʿalīmu | So if they believe as ye believe, they are indeed on the right
path; but if they turn back, it is they who are in schism; but Allah will
suffice thee as against them, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Sura al-Baqara 2:137 فَإِنْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَآ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا هُمْ فِى شِقَاقٍ فَسَيَكْفِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ fa-in āmanū bi-mithli mā āmantum bihi fa-qadi ihtadaw wa-in tawallaw fa-innamā hum fī shiqāqin fa-sa-yakfīkahumu allāhu wa-huwa l-samīʿu l-ʿalīmu So if they believe as ye believe, they are indeed on the right path; but if they turn back, it is they who are in schism; but Allah will suffice thee as against them, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. |
(2:150) | وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُۥ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيْكُمْ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِى وَلِأُتِمَّ نِعْمَتِى عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑min ḥaythu kharajta fa‑walli wajhaka shaṭra l‑masjidi l‑ḥarāmi waḥaythu mā kuntum fa‑wallū wujūhakum shaṭrahu li‑allā yakūna lil‑nāsi ʿalaykum ḥujjatun illā lladhīna ẓalamū minhum fa‑lā takhshawhum wa‑akhshawnī wa‑li‑utimma niʿmatī ʿalaykum wa‑la‑ʿallakum tahtadūna | So from whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the
direction of the sacred Mosque; and wheresoever ye are, Turn your face
thither: that there be no ground of dispute against you among the people,
except those of them that are bent on wickedness; so fear them not, but
fear Me; and that I may complete My favours on you, and ye May (consent to)
be guided;
Sura al-Baqara 2:150 وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُۥ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيْكُمْ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِى وَلِأُتِمَّ نِعْمَتِى عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ wa-min ḥaythu kharajta fa-walli wajhaka shaṭra l-masjidi l-ḥarāmi waḥaythu mā kuntum fa-wallū wujūhakum shaṭrahu li-allā yakūna lil-nāsi ʿalaykum ḥujjatun illā lladhīna ẓalamū minhum fa-lā takhshawhum wa-akhshawnī wa-li-utimma niʿmatī ʿalaykum wa-la-ʿallakum tahtadūna So from whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque; and wheresoever ye are, Turn your face thither: that there be no ground of dispute against you among the people, except those of them that are bent on wickedness; so fear them not, but fear Me; and that I may complete My favours on you, and ye May (consent to) be guided; |
(2:170) | وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ قَالُوا۟ بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَآ أَلْفَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑idhā qīla lahumu ittabiʿū mā anzala allāhu qālū bal nattabiʿu mā alfaynā ʿalayhi ābāʾanā awalaw kāna ābāʾuhum lā yaʿqilūna shayʾan wa‑lā yahtadūna | When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah hath revealed:" They
say: "Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers." What! even though
their fathers Were void of wisdom and guidance?
Sura al-Baqara 2:170 وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ قَالُوا۟ بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَآ أَلْفَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ wa-idhā qīla lahumu ittabiʿū mā anzala allāhu qālū bal nattabiʿu mā alfaynā ʿalayhi ābāʾanā awalaw kāna ābāʾuhum lā yaʿqilūna shayʾan wa-lā yahtadūna When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah hath revealed:" They say: "Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers." What! even though their fathers Were void of wisdom and guidance? |
(3:20) | فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّـهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَٱللَّـهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ | fa‑in ḥājjūka fa‑qul aslamtu wajhiya lillāhi wa‑mani ittabaʿani wa‑qul li‑lladhīna ūtū l‑kitāba wa‑l‑ummīyina a‑aslamtum fa‑in aslamū fa‑qadi ihtadaw wa‑in tawallaw fa‑innamā ʿalayka l‑balāghu wallāhu baṣīrun bil‑ʿibādi | So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole
self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the
Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If
they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to
convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:20 فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّـهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَٱللَّـهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ fa-in ḥājjūka fa-qul aslamtu wajhiya lillāhi wa-mani ittabaʿani wa-qul li-lladhīna ūtū l-kitāba wa-l-ummīyina a-aslamtum fa-in aslamū fa-qadi ihtadaw wa-in tawallaw fa-innamā ʿalayka l-balāghu wallāhu baṣīrun bil-ʿibādi So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants. |
(3:103) | وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّـهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَآءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِۦٓ إِخْوَٰنًا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّـهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑iʿtaṣimū biḥabli allāhi jamīʿan wa‑lā tafarraqū wa‑idhkurū niʿmata allāhi ʿalaykum idh kuntum aʿdaʾan fa‑allafa bayna qulūbikum fa‑aṣbaḥtum biniʿmatihi ikhwānan wa‑kuntum ʿalā shafā ḥufratin mina l‑nāri fa‑anqadhakum minhā ka‑dhālika yubayyinu allāhu la‑kum āyātihi la‑ʿallakum tahtadūna | And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches
out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with
gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your
hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on
the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make
His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:103 وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّـهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَآءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِۦٓ إِخْوَٰنًا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّـهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ wa-iʿtaṣimū biḥabli allāhi jamīʿan wa-lā tafarraqū wa-idhkurū niʿmata allāhi ʿalaykum idh kuntum aʿdaʾan fa-allafa bayna qulūbikum fa-aṣbaḥtum biniʿmatihi ikhwānan wa-kuntum ʿalā shafā ḥufratin mina l-nāri fa-anqadhakum minhā ka-dhālika yubayyinu allāhu la-kum āyātihi la-ʿallakum tahtadūna And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. (4:68) | وَلَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ صِرَٰطًا مُّسْتَقِيمًا | wa‑la‑hadaynāhum ṣirāṭan mustaqīman | And We should have shown them the Straight Way.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:68 وَلَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ صِرَٰطًا مُّسْتَقِيمًا wa-la-hadaynāhum ṣirāṭan mustaqīman And We should have shown them the Straight Way. |
(4:88) | فَمَا لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ فِئَتَيْنِ وَٱللَّـهُ أَرْكَسَهُم بِمَا كَسَبُوٓا۟ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَهْدُوا۟ مَنْ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّـهُ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّـهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلًا | fa‑mā la‑kum fī l‑munāfiqīna fiʾatayni wallāhu arkasahum bi‑mā kasabū aturīdūna an tahdū man aḍalla allāhu wa‑man yuḍlili allāhu fa‑lan tajida lahu sabīlan | Why should ye be divided into two parties about the
Hypocrites? Allah hath upset them for their (evil) deeds. Would ye guide
those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way? For those whom Allah hath thrown
out of the Way, never shalt thou find the Way.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:88 فَمَا لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ فِئَتَيْنِ وَٱللَّـهُ أَرْكَسَهُم بِمَا كَسَبُوٓا۟ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَهْدُوا۟ مَنْ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّـهُ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّـهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلًا fa-mā la-kum fī l-munāfiqīna fiʾatayni wallāhu arkasahum bi-mā kasabū aturīdūna an tahdū man aḍalla allāhu wa-man yuḍlili allāhu fa-lan tajida lahu sabīlan Why should ye be divided into two parties about the Hypocrites? Allah hath upset them for their (evil) deeds. Would ye guide those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way? For those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way, never shalt thou find the Way. |
(4:98) | إِلَّا ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ حِيلَةً وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ سَبِيلًا | illā l‑mustaḍʿafīna mina l‑rijāli wa‑l‑nisāi wa‑l‑wildāni lā yastaṭīʿūna ḥīlatan wa‑lā yahtadūna sabīlan | Except those who are (really) weak and oppressed - men, women,
and children - who have no means in their power, nor (a guide-post) to
their way.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:98 إِلَّا ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ حِيلَةً وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ سَبِيلًا illā l-mustaḍʿafīna mina l-rijāli wa-l-nisāi wa-l-wildāni lā yastaṭīʿūna ḥīlatan wa-lā yahtadūna sabīlan Except those who are (really) weak and oppressed - men, women, and children - who have no means in their power, nor (a guide-post) to their way. |
(5:104) | وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ قَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑idhā qīla lahum taʿālaw ilā mā anzala allāhu wa‑ilā l‑rasūli qālū ḥasbunā mā wajadnā ʿalayhi ābāʾanā awalaw kāna ābāʾuhum lā yaʿlamūna shayʾan wa‑lā yahtadūna | When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed; come
to the Messenger": They say: "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers
following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and
guidance?
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:104 وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ قَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ wa-idhā qīla lahum taʿālaw ilā mā anzala allāhu wa-ilā l-rasūli qālū ḥasbunā mā wajadnā ʿalayhi ābāʾanā awalaw kāna ābāʾuhum lā yaʿlamūna shayʾan wa-lā yahtadūna When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed; come to the Messenger": They say: "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance? |
(5:105) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ لَا يَضُرُّكُم مَّن ضَلَّ إِذَا ٱهْتَدَيْتُمْ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ʿalaykum anfusakum lā yaḍurrukum man ḍalla idhā ihtadaytum ilā allāhi marjiʿukum jamīʿan fa‑yunabbiʾukum bi‑mā kuntum taʿmalūna | O ye who believe! Guard your own souls: If ye follow (right)
guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who stray. the goal of you all
is to Allah: it is He that will show you the truth of all that ye do.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:105 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ لَا يَضُرُّكُم مَّن ضَلَّ إِذَا ٱهْتَدَيْتُمْ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ʿalaykum anfusakum lā yaḍurrukum man ḍalla idhā ihtadaytum ilā allāhi marjiʿukum jamīʿan fa-yunabbiʾukum bi-mā kuntum taʿmalūna O ye who believe! Guard your own souls: If ye follow (right) guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who stray. the goal of you all is to Allah: it is He that will show you the truth of all that ye do. |
(6:84) | وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ كُلًّا هَدَيْنَا وَنُوحًا هَدَيْنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِۦ دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَٰنَ وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُوسُفَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ | wa‑wahabnā lahu isḥāqa wa‑yaʿqūba kullan hadaynā wa‑nūḥan hadaynā min qablu wa‑min dhurriyyatihi dāwuda wa‑sulaymāna wa‑ayyūba wa‑yūsufa wa‑mūsa wa‑hārūna wa‑ka‑dhālika najzī l‑muḥsinīna | We gave him Isaac and Jacob: all (three) guided: and before
him, We guided Noah, and among his progeny, David, Solomon, Job, Joseph,
Moses, and Aaron: thus do We reward those who do good:
Sura al-Anʿām 6:84 وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ كُلًّا هَدَيْنَا وَنُوحًا هَدَيْنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِۦ دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَٰنَ وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُوسُفَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ wa-wahabnā lahu isḥāqa wa-yaʿqūba kullan hadaynā wa-nūḥan hadaynā min qablu wa-min dhurriyyatihi dāwuda wa-sulaymāna wa-ayyūba wa-yūsufa wa-mūsa wa-hārūna wa-ka-dhālika najzī l-muḥsinīna We gave him Isaac and Jacob: all (three) guided: and before him, We guided Noah, and among his progeny, David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron: thus do We reward those who do good: |
(6:87) | وَمِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْ وَإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ وَٱجْتَبَيْنَٰهُمْ وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ | wa‑min ābāʾihim wa‑dhurriyyātihim wa‑ikhwānihim wa‑ijtabaynāhum wa‑hadaynāhum ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin | (To them) and to their fathers, and progeny and brethren: We
chose them, and we guided them to a straight way.
Sura al-Anʿām 6:87 وَمِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْ وَإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ وَٱجْتَبَيْنَٰهُمْ وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ wa-min ābāʾihim wa-dhurriyyātihim wa-ikhwānihim wa-ijtabaynāhum wa-hadaynāhum ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin (To them) and to their fathers, and progeny and brethren: We chose them, and we guided them to a straight way. |
(6:97) | وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلنُّجُومَ لِتَهْتَدُوا۟ بِهَا فِى ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ | wa‑huwa alladhī jaʿala lakumu l‑nujūma li‑tahtadū bihā fī ẓulumāti l‑barri wa‑l‑baḥri qad faṣṣalnā l‑ayāti li‑qawmin yaʿlamūna | It is He Who maketh the stars (as beacons) for you, that ye
may guide yourselves, with their help, through the dark spaces of land and
sea: We detail Our signs for people who know.
Sura al-Anʿām 6:97 وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلنُّجُومَ لِتَهْتَدُوا۟ بِهَا فِى ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ wa-huwa alladhī jaʿala lakumu l-nujūma li-tahtadū bihā fī ẓulumāti l-barri wa-l-baḥri qad faṣṣalnā l-ayāti li-qawmin yaʿlamūna It is He Who maketh the stars (as beacons) for you, that ye may guide yourselves, with their help, through the dark spaces of land and sea: We detail Our signs for people who know. |
(7:43) | وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ ٱلَّذِى هَدَىٰنَا لِهَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِىَ لَوْلَآ أَنْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّـهُ لَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَنُودُوٓا۟ أَن تِلْكُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | wanazaʿnā mā fī ṣudūrihim min ghillin tajrī min taḥtihimu l‑anhāru wa‑qālū l‑ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī hadanā li‑hādhā wa‑mā kunnā li‑nahtadiya lawlā an hadanā allāhu la‑qad jāʾat rusulu rabbinā bil‑ḥaqqi wa‑nūdū an tilkumu l‑jannatu ūrithtumūhā bi‑mā kuntum taʿmalūna | And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of
injury;- beneath them will be rivers flowing;- and they shall say: "Praise
be to Allah, who hath guided us to this (felicity): never could we have found
guidance, had it not been for the guidance of Allah: indeed it was the truth,
that the messengers of our Lord brought unto us." And they shall hear the
cry: "Behold! the garden before you! Ye have been made its inheritors, for
your deeds (of righteousness)."
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:43 وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ ٱلَّذِى هَدَىٰنَا لِهَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِىَ لَوْلَآ أَنْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّـهُ لَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَنُودُوٓا۟ أَن تِلْكُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ wanazaʿnā mā fī ṣudūrihim min ghillin tajrī min taḥtihimu l-anhāru wa-qālū l-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī hadanā li-hādhā wa-mā kunnā li-nahtadiya lawlā an hadanā allāhu la-qad jāʾat rusulu rabbinā bil-ḥaqqi wa-nūdū an tilkumu l-jannatu ūrithtumūhā bi-mā kuntum taʿmalūna And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury;- beneath them will be rivers flowing;- and they shall say: "Praise be to Allah, who hath guided us to this (felicity): never could we have found guidance, had it not been for the guidance of Allah: indeed it was the truth, that the messengers of our Lord brought unto us." (7:158) | قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّـهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ ٱلَّذِى يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّـهِ وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ | qul yā‑ayyuhā l‑nāsu innī rasūlu allāhi ilaykum jamīʿan alladhī lahu mulku l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi lā ilāha illā huwa yuḥyi wa‑yumītu fa‑āminū billāhi wa‑rasūlihi l‑nabiyyi l‑ummiyyi alladhī yuʾminū billāhi wa‑kalimātihi wa‑ittabiʿūhu la‑ʿallakum tahtadūna | Say: "O men! I am sent unto you all, as the Messenger of Allah, to
Whom belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth: there is no god
but He: it is He That giveth both life and death. So believe in Allah and His
Messenger, the Unlettered Prophet, who believeth in Allah and His words: follow
him that (so) ye may be guided."
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:158 قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّـهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ ٱلَّذِى يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّـهِ وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ qul yā-ayyuhā l-nāsu innī rasūlu allāhi ilaykum jamīʿan alladhī lahu mulku l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi lā ilāha illā huwa yuḥyi wa-yumītu fa-āminū billāhi wa-rasūlihi l-nabiyyi l-ummiyyi alladhī yuʾminū billāhi wa-kalimātihi wa-ittabiʿūhu la-ʿallakum tahtadūna Say: "O men! I am sent unto you all, as the Messenger of Allah, to Whom belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth: there is no god but He: it is He That giveth both life and death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the Unlettered Prophet, who believeth in Allah and His words: follow him that (so) ye may be guided." |
(7:159) | وَمِن قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰٓ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ | wa‑min qawmi mūsā ummatun yahdūna bil‑ḥaqqi wa‑bihi yaʿdilūna | Of the people of Moses there is a section who guide and do
justice in the light of truth.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:159 وَمِن قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰٓ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ wa-min qawmi mūsā ummatun yahdūna bil-ḥaqqi wa-bihi yaʿdilūna Of the people of Moses there is a section who guide and do justice in the light of truth. |
(7:181) | وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ | wamimman khalaqnā ummatun yahdūna bil‑ḥaqqi wa‑bihi yaʿdilūna | Of those We have created are people who direct (others) with
truth. And dispense justice therewith.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:181 وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ wamimman khalaqnā ummatun yahdūna bil-ḥaqqi wa-bihi yaʿdilūna Of those We have created are people who direct (others) with truth. And dispense justice therewith. |
(14:21) | وَبَرَزُوا۟ لِلَّـهِ جَمِيعًا فَقَالَ ٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱللَّـهِ مِن شَىْءٍ قَالُوا۟ لَوْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّـهُ لَهَدَيْنَٰكُمْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَجَزِعْنَآ أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٍ | wa‑barazū lillāhi jamīʿan fa‑qāla l‑ḍuʿafāʾu li‑lladhīna istakbarū innā kunnā la‑kum tabaʿan fa‑hal antum mughnūna ʿannā min ʿadhābi allāhi min shayʾin qālū law hadanā allāhu la‑hadaynākum sawāʾun ʿalaynā ajaziʿnā am ṣabarnā mā la‑nā min maḥīṣin | They will all be marshalled before Allah together: then will the
weak say to those who were arrogant, "For us, we but followed you; can ye
then avail us to all against the wrath of Allah?" They will reply, "If we had
received the Guidance of Allah, we should have given it to you: to us it
makes no difference (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with
patience: for ourselves there is no way of escape."
Sura Ibrāhīm 14:21 وَبَرَزُوا۟ لِلَّـهِ جَمِيعًا فَقَالَ ٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱللَّـهِ مِن شَىْءٍ قَالُوا۟ لَوْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّـهُ لَهَدَيْنَٰكُمْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَجَزِعْنَآ أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٍ wa-barazū lillāhi jamīʿan fa-qāla l-ḍuʿafāʾu li-lladhīna istakbarū innā kunnā la-kum tabaʿan fa-hal antum mughnūna ʿannā min ʿadhābi allāhi min shayʾin qālū law hadanā allāhu la-hadaynākum sawāʾun ʿalaynā ajaziʿnā am ṣabarnā mā la-nā min maḥīṣin They will all be marshalled before Allah together: then will the weak say to those who were arrogant, "For us, we but followed you; can ye then avail us to all against the wrath of Allah?" They will reply, "If we had received the Guidance of Allah, we should have given it to you: to us it makes no difference (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience: for ourselves there is no way of escape." |
(16:15) | وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَٰرًا وَسُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑alqa fī l‑arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bikum wa‑anhāran wa‑subulan la‑ʿallakum tahtadūna | And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest
it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide
yourselves;
Sura al-Naḥl 16:15 وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَٰرًا وَسُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ wa-alqa fī l-arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bikum wa-anhāran wa-subulan la-ʿallakum tahtadūna And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide yourselves; |
(16:16) | وَعَلَٰمَٰتٍ وَبِٱلنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑ʿalāmātin wa‑bil‑najmi hum yahtadūna | And marks and sign-posts; and by the stars (men) guide
themselves.
Sura al-Naḥl 16:16 وَعَلَٰمَٰتٍ وَبِٱلنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ wa-ʿalāmātin wa-bil-najmi hum yahtadūna And marks and sign-posts; and by the stars (men) guide themselves. |
(18:57) | وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن ذُكِّرَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهَا وَنَسِىَ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا وَإِن تَدْعُهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ فَلَن يَهْتَدُوٓا۟ إِذًا أَبَدًا | wa‑man aẓlamu mimman dhukkira bi‑āyāti rabbihi fa‑aʿraḍa ʿanhā wa‑nasiya mā qaddamat yadāhu innā jaʿalnā ʿalā qulūbihim akinnatan an yafqahūhu wa‑fī ādhānihim waqran wa‑in tadʿuhum ilā l‑hudā fa‑lan yahtadū idhan abadan | And who doth more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs
of his Lord, but turns away from them, forgetting the (deeds) which his
hands have sent forth? Verily We have set veils over their hearts lest they
should understand this, and over their ears, deafness, if thou callest them
to guidance, even then will they never accept guidance.
Sura al-Kahf 18:57 وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن ذُكِّرَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهَا وَنَسِىَ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا وَإِن تَدْعُهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ فَلَن يَهْتَدُوٓا۟ إِذًا أَبَدًا wa-man aẓlamu mimman dhukkira bi-āyāti rabbihi fa-aʿraḍa ʿanhā wa-nasiya mā qaddamat yadāhu innā jaʿalnā ʿalā qulūbihim akinnatan an yafqahūhu wa-fī ādhānihim waqran wa-in tadʿuhum ilā l-hudā fa-lan yahtadū idhan abadan And who doth more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, forgetting the (deeds) which his hands have sent forth? Verily We have set veils over their hearts lest they should understand this, and over their ears, deafness, if thou callest them to guidance, even then will they never accept guidance. |
(19:58) | أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا | ulāʾika lladhīna anʿama allāhu ʿalayhim mina l‑nabiyyina min dhurriyyatī ādama wa‑mimman ḥamalnā maʿa nūḥin wa‑min dhurriyyatī ibrāhīma waisrāīla wa‑mimman hadaynā wa‑ijtabaynā idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātu l‑raḥmāni kharrū sujjadan wa‑bukiyyan | Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His
Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark)
with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We
guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of (Allah) Most Gracious were rehearsed
to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears.
Sura Maryam 19:58 أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ulāʾika lladhīna anʿama allāhu ʿalayhim mina l-nabiyyina min dhurriyyatī ādama wa-mimman ḥamalnā maʿa nūḥin wa-min dhurriyyatī ibrāhīma waisrāīla wa-mimman hadaynā wa-ijtabaynā idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātu l-raḥmāni kharrū sujjadan wa-bukiyyan Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of (Allah) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears. |
(19:76) | وَيَزِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ هُدًى وَٱلْبَٰقِيَٰتُ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَّرَدًّا | wa‑yazīdu allāhu lladhīna ihtadaw hudan wa‑l‑bāqiyātu l‑ṣāliḥātu khayrun ʿinda rabbika thawāban wa‑khayrun maraddan | "And Allah doth advance in guidance those who seek guidance: and
the things that endure, Good Deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as
rewards, and best in respect of (their) eventual return."
Sura Maryam 19:76 وَيَزِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ هُدًى وَٱلْبَٰقِيَٰتُ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَّرَدًّا wa-yazīdu allāhu lladhīna ihtadaw hudan wa-l-bāqiyātu l-ṣāliḥātu khayrun ʿinda rabbika thawāban wa-khayrun maraddan "And Allah doth advance in guidance those who seek guidance: and the things that endure, Good Deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best in respect of (their) eventual return." |
(21:31) | وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑jaʿalnā fī l‑arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bihim wa‑jaʿalnā fīhā fijājan subulan la‑ʿallahum yahtadūna | And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it
should shake with them, and We have made therein broad highways (between
mountains) for them to pass through: that they may receive Guidance.
Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:31 وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ wa-jaʿalnā fī l-arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bihim wa-jaʿalnā fīhā fijājan subulan la-ʿallahum yahtadūna And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with them, and We have made therein broad highways (between mountains) for them to pass through: that they may receive Guidance. |
(21:73) | وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَٰبِدِينَ | wa‑jaʿalnāhum aʾimmatan yahdūna bi‑amrinā wa‑awḥaynā ilayhim fiʿla l‑khayrāti wa‑iqāma l‑ṣalawti wa‑ītāʾa l‑zakawti wa‑kānū la‑nā ʿābidīna | And We made them leaders, guiding (men) by Our Command, and We
sent them inspiration to do good deeds, to establish regular prayers, and
to practise regular charity; and they constantly served Us (and Us only).
Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:73 وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَٰبِدِينَ wa-jaʿalnāhum aʾimmatan yahdūna bi-amrinā wa-awḥaynā ilayhim fiʿla l-khayrāti wa-iqāma l-ṣalawti wa-ītāʾa l-zakawti wa-kānū la-nā ʿābidīna And We made them leaders, guiding (men) by Our Command, and We sent them inspiration to do good deeds, to establish regular prayers, and to practise regular charity; and they constantly served Us (and Us only). |
(22:24) | وَهُدُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّيِّبِ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَهُدُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ | wa‑hudū ilā l‑ṭayyibi mina l‑qawli wa‑hudū ilā ṣirāṭi l‑ḥamīdi | For they have been guided (in this life) to the purest of
speeches; they have been guided to the Path of Him Who is Worthy of (all)
Praise.
Sura al-Ḥajj 22:24 وَهُدُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّيِّبِ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَهُدُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ wa-hudū ilā l-ṭayyibi mina l-qawli wa-hudū ilā ṣirāṭi l-ḥamīdi For they have been guided (in this life) to the purest of speeches; they have been guided to the Path of Him Who is Worthy of (all) Praise. |
(23:49) | وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑la‑qad ātaynā mūsā l‑kitāba la‑ʿallahum yahtadūna | And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive
guidance.
Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:49 وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ wa-la-qad ātaynā mūsā l-kitāba la-ʿallahum yahtadūna And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. |
(24:54) | قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيْكُم مَّا حُمِّلْتُمْ وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا۟ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ | qul aṭīʿū allāha wa‑aṭīʿū l‑rasūla fa‑in tawallaw fa‑innamā ʿalayhi mā ḥummila wa‑ʿalaykum mā ḥummiltum wa‑in tuṭīʿūhu tahtadū wa‑mā ʿalā l‑rasūli illā l‑balāghu l‑mubīnu | Say: "Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger: but if ye turn away, he
is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on
you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance. The Messenger's duty is
only to preach the clear (Message).
Sura al-Nūr 24:54 قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيْكُم مَّا حُمِّلْتُمْ وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا۟ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ qul aṭīʿū allāha wa-aṭīʿū l-rasūla fa-in tawallaw fa-innamā ʿalayhi mā ḥummila wa-ʿalaykum mā ḥummiltum wa-in tuṭīʿūhu tahtadū wa-mā ʿalā l-rasūli illā l-balāghu l-mubīnu Say: "Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger: but if ye turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance. The Messenger's duty is only to preach the clear (Message). |
(27:24) | وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑jadttuhā wa‑qawmahā yasjudūna lil‑shamsi min dūni allāhi wa‑zayyana lahumu l‑shayṭānu aʿmālahum fa‑ṣaddahum ʿani l‑sabīli fa‑hum lā yahtadūna | "I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah:
Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept them
away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance,-
Sura al-Naml 27:24 وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ wa-jadttuhā wa-qawmahā yasjudūna lil-shamsi min dūni allāhi wa-zayyana lahumu l-shayṭānu aʿmālahum fa-ṣaddahum ʿani l-sabīli fa-hum lā yahtadūna "I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah: Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept them away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance,- |
(27:41) | قَالَ نَكِّرُوا۟ لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِىٓ أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ | qalā nakkirū lahā ʿarshahā nanẓur atahtadī am takūnu mina lladhīna lā yahtadūna | He said: "Transform her throne out of all recognition by her:
let us see whether she is guided (to the truth) or is one of those who
receive no guidance."
Sura al-Naml 27:41 قَالَ نَكِّرُوا۟ لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِىٓ أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ qalā nakkirū lahā ʿarshahā nanẓur atahtadī am takūnu mina lladhīna lā yahtadūna He said: "Transform her throne out of all recognition by her: let us see whether she is guided (to the truth) or is one of those who receive no guidance." |
(28:64) | وَقِيلَ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَهُمْ وَرَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑qīla idʿū shurakāʾakum fa‑daʿawhum falam yastajībū lahum wa‑raawu l‑ʿadhāba law annahum kānū yahtadūna | It will be said (to them): "Call upon your 'partners' (for
help)" :they will call upon them, but they will not listen to them; and
they will see the Penalty (before them); (how they will wish) 'if only they
had been open to guidance!'
Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:64 وَقِيلَ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَهُمْ وَرَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَهْتَدُونَ wa-qīla idʿū shurakāʾakum fa-daʿawhum falam yastajībū lahum wa-raawu l-ʿadhāba law annahum kānū yahtadūna It will be said (to them): "Call upon your 'partners' (for help)" :they will call upon them, but they will not listen to them; and they will see the Penalty (before them); (how they will wish) 'if only they had been open to guidance!' |
(29:69) | وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُوا۟ فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَمَعَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ | wa‑lladhīna jāhadū fīnā la‑nahdiyannahum subulanā wa‑inna allāha lamaʿa l‑muḥsinīna | And those who strive in Our (cause),- We will certainly guide
them to our Paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right.
Sura al-ʿAnkabūt 29:69 وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُوا۟ فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَمَعَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ wa-lladhīna jāhadū fīnā la-nahdiyannahum subulanā wa-inna allāha lamaʿa l-muḥsinīna And those who strive in Our (cause),- We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right. |
(32:3) | أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ بَلْ هُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ | am yaqūlūna iftarāhu bal huwa l‑ḥaqqu min rabbika li‑tundhira qawman mā atāhum min nnadhīrin min qablika la‑ʿallahum yahtadūna | Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Nay, it is the Truth from
thy Lord, that thou mayest admonish a people to whom no warner has come
before thee: in order that they may receive guidance.
Sura al-Sajdah 32:3 أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ بَلْ هُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ am yaqūlūna iftarāhu bal huwa l-ḥaqqu min rabbika li-tundhira qawman mā atāhum min nnadhīrin min qablika la-ʿallahum yahtadūna Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Nay, it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayest admonish a people to whom no warner has come before thee: in order that they may receive guidance. |
(32:24) | وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ | wa‑jaʿalnā minhum aʾimmatan yahdūna bi‑amrinā lammā ṣabarū wa‑kānū bi‑āyātinā yūqinūna | And We appointed, from among them, leaders, giving guidance
under Our command, so long as they persevered with patience and continued
to have faith in Our Signs.
Sura al-Sajdah 32:24 وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ wa-jaʿalnā minhum aʾimmatan yahdūna bi-amrinā lammā ṣabarū wa-kānū bi-āyātinā yūqinūna And We appointed, from among them, leaders, giving guidance under Our command, so long as they persevered with patience and continued to have faith in Our Signs. |
(37:23) | مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ | min dūni allāhi fa‑ihdūhum ilā ṣirāṭi l‑jaḥīmi | "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire!
Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:23 مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ min dūni allāhi fa-ihdūhum ilā ṣirāṭi l-jaḥīmi "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! |
(37:118) | وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ | wa‑hadaynāhumā l‑ṣirāṭa l‑mustaqīma | And We guided them to the Straight Way.
Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:118 وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ wa-hadaynāhumā l-ṣirāṭa l-mustaqīma And We guided them to the Straight Way. |
(41:17) | وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ فَٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْعَمَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَٰعِقَةُ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ | wa‑ammā thamūdu fa‑hadaynāhum fa‑istaḥabbū l‑ʿamā ʿalā l‑hudā fa‑akhadhathum ṣāʿiqatu l‑ʿadhābi l‑hūni bi‑mā kānū yaksibūna | As to the Thamud, We gave them Guidance, but they preferred
blindness (of heart) to Guidance: so the stunning Punishment of humiliation
seized them, because of what they had earned.
Sura Fuṣṣilat 41:17 وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ فَٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْعَمَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَٰعِقَةُ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ wa-ammā thamūdu fa-hadaynāhum fa-istaḥabbū l-ʿamā ʿalā l-hudā fa-akhadhathum ṣāʿiqatu l-ʿadhābi l-hūni bi-mā kānū yaksibūna As to the Thamud, We gave them Guidance, but they preferred blindness (of heart) to Guidance: so the stunning Punishment of humiliation seized them, because of what they had earned. |
(42:52) | وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِى مَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ وَلَا ٱلْإِيمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُورًا نَّهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ | wa‑ka‑dhālika awḥaynā ilayka rūḥan min amrinā mā kunta tadrī mā l‑kitābu wa‑lā l‑īmānu wa‑lākin jaʿalnāhu nūran nahdī bihi man nashāʾu min ʿibādinā wainnaka la‑tahdī ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin | And thus have We, by Our Command, sent inspiration to thee:
thou knewest not (before) what was Revelation, and what was Faith; but We
have made the (Qur'an) a Light, wherewith We guide such of Our servants as
We will; and verily thou dost guide (men) to the Straight Way,-
Sura al-Shūrā 42:52 وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِى مَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ وَلَا ٱلْإِيمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُورًا نَّهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ wa-ka-dhālika awḥaynā ilayka rūḥan min amrinā mā kunta tadrī mā l-kitābu wa-lā l-īmānu wa-lākin jaʿalnāhu nūran nahdī bihi man nashāʾu min ʿibādinā wainnaka la-tahdī ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin And thus have We, by Our Command, sent inspiration to thee: thou knewest not (before) what was Revelation, and what was Faith; but We have made the (Qur'an) a Light, wherewith We guide such of Our servants as We will; and verily thou dost guide (men) to the Straight Way,- |
(43:10) | ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ | alladhī jaʿala lakumu l‑arḍa mahdan wa‑jaʿala la‑kum fīhā subulan la‑ʿallakum tahtadūna | (Yea, the same that) has made for you the earth (like a
carpet) spread out, and has made for you roads (and channels) therein, in
order that ye may find guidance (on the way);
Sura al-Zukhruf 43:10 ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ alladhī jaʿala lakumu l-arḍa mahdan wa-jaʿala la-kum fīhā subulan la-ʿallakum tahtadūna (Yea, the same that) has made for you the earth (like a carpet) spread out, and has made for you roads (and channels) therein, in order that ye may find guidance (on the way); |
(46:11) | وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَّا سَبَقُونَآ إِلَيْهِ وَإِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَٰذَآ إِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌ | wa‑qāla lladhīna kafarū li‑lladhīna āmanū law kāna khayran mā sabaqūnā ilayhi wa‑idh lam yahtadū bihi fa‑sa‑yaqūlūna hādhā ifkun qadīmun | The Unbelievers say of those who believe: "If (this Message)
were a good thing, (such men) would not have gone to it first, before us!"
And seeing that they guide not themselves thereby, they will say, "this is
an (old,) falsehood!"
Sura al-Aḥqāf 46:11 وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَّا سَبَقُونَآ إِلَيْهِ وَإِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَٰذَآ إِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌ wa-qāla lladhīna kafarū li-lladhīna āmanū law kāna khayran mā sabaqūnā ilayhi wa-idh lam yahtadū bihi fa-sa-yaqūlūna hādhā ifkun qadīmun The Unbelievers say of those who believe: "If (this Message) were a good thing, (such men) would not have gone to it first, before us!" And seeing that they guide not themselves thereby, they will say, "this is an (old,) falsehood!" |
(47:17) | وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَءَاتَىٰهُمْ تَقْوَىٰهُمْ | wa‑lladhīna ihtadaw zādahum hudan wa‑ātāhum taqwāhum | But to those who receive Guidance, He increases the (light of)
Guidance, and bestows on them their Piety and Restraint (from evil).
Sura Muḥammad 47:17 وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَءَاتَىٰهُمْ تَقْوَىٰهُمْ wa-lladhīna ihtadaw zādahum hudan wa-ātāhum taqwāhum But to those who receive Guidance, He increases the (light of) Guidance, and bestows on them their Piety and Restraint (from evil). |
(64:6) | ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُۥ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَبَشَرٌ يَهْدُونَنَا فَكَفَرُوا۟ وَتَوَلَّوا۟ وَّٱسْتَغْنَى ٱللَّـهُ وَٱللَّـهُ غَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌ | dhālika biannahu kānat taʾtīhim rusuluhum bil‑bayyināti fa‑qālū abasharun yahdūnanā fa‑kafarū wa‑tawallaw wa‑istaghnā allāhu wallāhu ghaniyyun ḥamīdun | That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Signs,
but they said: "Shall (mere) human beings direct us?" So they rejected (the
Message) and turned away. But Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free of
all needs, worthy of all praise.
Sura al-Taghābun 64:6 ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُۥ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَبَشَرٌ يَهْدُونَنَا فَكَفَرُوا۟ وَتَوَلَّوا۟ وَّٱسْتَغْنَى ٱللَّـهُ وَٱللَّـهُ غَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌ dhālika biannahu kānat taʾtīhim rusuluhum bil-bayyināti fa-qālū abasharun yahdūnanā fa-kafarū wa-tawallaw wa-istaghnā allāhu wallāhu ghaniyyun ḥamīdun That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Signs, but they said: "Shall (mere) human beings direct us?" So they rejected (the Message) and turned away. But Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free of all needs, worthy of all praise. |
(76:3) | إِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا | innā hadaynāhu l‑sabīla immā shākiran wa‑immā kafūran | We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful
(rests on his will).
Sura al-Insān 76:3 إِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا innā hadaynāhu l-sabīla immā shākiran wa-immā kafūran We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will). |
(90:10) | وَهَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ | wa‑hadaynāhu l‑najdayni | And shown him the two highways?
Sura al-Balad 90:10 وَهَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ wa-hadaynāhu l-najdayni And shown him the two highways? |
