Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:17)

مَثَلُهُمْ  كَمَثَلِ  ٱلَّذِى  ٱسْتَوْقَدَ  نَارًا  فَلَمَّآ  أَضَآءَتْ  مَا  حَوْلَهُۥ  ذَهَبَ  ٱللَّـهُ  بِنُورِهِمْ  وَتَرَكَهُمْ  فِى  ظُلُمَٰتٍ  لَّا  يُبْصِرُونَ mathaluhum ka‑mathali alladhī istawqada nāran fa‑lammā aḍāʾat ḥawlahu dhahaba allāhu binūrihim wa‑tarakahum ẓulumātin yubṣirūna
Their similitude is that of a man who kindled a fire; when it lighted all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in utter darkness. So they could not see.

Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)
(5:64)

وَقَالَتِ  ٱلْيَهُودُ  يَدُ  ٱللَّـهِ  مَغْلُولَةٌ  غُلَّتْ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  وَلُعِنُوا۟  بِمَا  قَالُوا۟  بَلْ  يَدَاهُ  مَبْسُوطَتَانِ  يُنفِقُ  كَيْفَ  يَشَآءُ  وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ  كَثِيرًا  مِّنْهُم  مَّآ  أُنزِلَ  إِلَيْكَ  مِن  رَّبِّكَ  طُغْيَٰنًا  وَكُفْرًا  وَأَلْقَيْنَا  بَيْنَهُمُ  ٱلْعَدَٰوَةَ  وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ  إِلَىٰ  يَوْمِ  ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ  كُلَّمَآ  أَوْقَدُوا۟  نَارًا  لِّلْحَرْبِ  أَطْفَأَهَا  ٱللَّـهُ  وَيَسْعَوْنَ  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  فَسَادًا  وَٱللَّـهُ  لَا  يُحِبُّ  ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ waqālati l‑yahūdu yadu allāhi maghlūlatun ghullat aydīhim wa‑luʿinū bi‑mā qālū bal yadāhu mabsūṭatāni yunfiqu kayfa yashāʾu wa‑la‑yazīdanna kathīran minhum unzila ilayka min rabbika ṭughyānan wa‑kufran wa‑l‑qaynā baynahumu l‑ʿadāwata wa‑l‑baghḍāʾa ilā yawmi l‑qiyāmati kullamā awqadū nāran lil‑ḥarbi aṭfaʾahā allāhu wa‑yasʿawna l‑arḍi fasādan wallāhu yuḥibbu l‑mufsidīna
The Jews say: "Allah's hand is tied up." Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for the (blasphemy) they utter. Nay, both His hands are widely outstretched: He giveth and spendeth (of His bounty) as He pleaseth. But the revelation that cometh to thee from Allah increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. Amongst them we have placed enmity and hatred till the Day of Judgment. Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah doth extinguish it; but they (ever) strive to do mischief on earth. And Allah loveth not those who do mischief.

Surah 13 al-Raʿd (The Thunder)
(13:17)

أَنزَلَ  مِنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  مَآءً  فَسَالَتْ  أَوْدِيَةٌۢ  بِقَدَرِهَا  فَٱحْتَمَلَ  ٱلسَّيْلُ  زَبَدًا  رَّابِيًا  وَمِمَّا  يُوقِدُونَ  عَلَيْهِ  فِى  ٱلنَّارِ  ٱبْتِغَآءَ  حِلْيَةٍ  أَوْ  مَتَٰعٍ  زَبَدٌ  مِّثْلُهُۥ  كَذَٰلِكَ  يَضْرِبُ  ٱللَّـهُ  ٱلْحَقَّ  وَٱلْبَٰطِلَ  فَأَمَّا  ٱلزَّبَدُ  فَيَذْهَبُ  جُفَآءً  وَأَمَّا  مَا  يَنفَعُ  ٱلنَّاسَ  فَيَمْكُثُ  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  كَذَٰلِكَ  يَضْرِبُ  ٱللَّـهُ  ٱلْأَمْثَالَ anzala mina l‑samāʾi māʾan fa‑sālat awdiyatun biqadarihā fa‑iḥtamala l‑saylu zabadan rrābīan wa‑mimmā yūqidūna ʿalayhi l‑nāri ibtighāʾa ḥilyatin aw matāʿin zabadun mithluhu ka‑dhālika yaḍribu allāhu l‑ḥaqqa wa‑l‑bāṭila fa‑ammā l‑zabadu fa‑yadhhabu jufāʾan wa‑ammā yanfaʿu l‑nāsa fa‑yamkuthu l‑arḍi ka‑dhālika yaḍribu allāhu l‑amthāla
He sends down water from the skies, and the channels flow, each according to its measure: But the torrent bears away to foam that mounts up to the surface. Even so, from that (ore) which they heat in the fire, to make ornaments or utensils therewith, there is a scum likewise. Thus doth Allah (by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity. For the scum disappears like forth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth. Thus doth Allah set forth parables.

Surah 24 al-Nūr (The Light)
(24:35)

ٱللَّـهُ  نُورُ  ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ  وَٱلْأَرْضِ  مَثَلُ  نُورِهِۦ  كَمِشْكَوٰةٍ  فِيهَا  مِصْبَاحٌ  ٱلْمِصْبَاحُ  فِى  زُجَاجَةٍ  ٱلزُّجَاجَةُ  كَأَنَّهَا  كَوْكَبٌ  دُرِّىٌّ  يُوقَدُ  مِن  شَجَرَةٍ  مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ  زَيْتُونَةٍ  لَّا  شَرْقِيَّةٍ  وَلَا  غَرْبِيَّةٍ  يَكَادُ  زَيْتُهَا  يُضِىٓءُ  وَلَوْ  لَمْ  تَمْسَسْهُ  نَارٌ  نُّورٌ  عَلَىٰ  نُورٍ  يَهْدِى  ٱللَّـهُ  لِنُورِهِۦ  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَيَضْرِبُ  ٱللَّـهُ  ٱلْأَمْثَٰلَ  لِلنَّاسِ  وَٱللَّـهُ  بِكُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  عَلِيمٌ allāhu nūru l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi mathalu nūrihi ka‑mishkātin fīhā miṣbāḥun l‑miṣbāḥu zujājatin l‑zujājatu ka‑annahā kawkabun durriyyun yūqadu min shajaratin mubārakatin zaytūnatin sharqiyyatin wa‑lā gharbiyyatin yakādu zaytuhā yubdiʾu wa‑law lam tamsashu nārun nnūrun ʿalā nūrin yahdī allāhu li‑nūrihi man yashāʾu wa‑yaḍribu allāhu l‑amthāla lil‑nāsi wallāhu bi‑kulli shayʾin ʿalīmun
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things.
