Sura al-Kahf 18:48

وَعُرِضُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ صَفًّا لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمُونَا كَمَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۭ بَلْ زَعَمْتُمْ أَلَّن نَّجْعَلَ لَكُم مَّوْعِدًا

wa-ʿuriḍū ʿalā rabbika ṣaffan llaqad jiʾtumūnā ka-mā khalaqnākum awwala marratin bal zaʿamtum allan nnajʿala la-kum mawʿidan

And they will be marshalled before thy Lord in ranks, (with the announcement), "Now have ye come to Us (bare) as We created you first: aye, ye thought We shall not fulfil the appointment made to you to meet (Us)!":

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:64

فَأَجْمِعُوا۟ كَيْدَكُمْ ثُمَّ ٱئْتُوا۟ صَفًّا وَقَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْيَوْمَ مَنِ ٱسْتَعْلَىٰ

fa-ajmiʿū kaydakum thumma iʾtū ṣaffan wa-qad aflaḥa l-yawma mani istaʿlā

"Therefore concert your plan, and then assemble in (serried) ranks: He wins (all along) today who gains the upper hand."

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:36

وَٱلْبُدْنَ جَعَلْنَٰهَا لَكُم مِّن شَعَٰٓئِرِ ٱللَّـهِ لَكُمْ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ فَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهَا صَوَآفَّ فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ جُنُوبُهَا فَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا۟ ٱلْقَانِعَ وَٱلْمُعْتَرَّ كَذَٰلِكَ سَخَّرْنَٰهَا لَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

wa-l-budna jaʿalnāhā la-kum min shaʿāʾiri allāhi la-kum fīhā khayrun fa-idhkurū isma allāhi ʿalayhā ṣawāffa fa-idhā wajabat junūbuhā fa-kulū minhā wa-aṭʿimū l-qāniʿa wa-l-muʿtarra ka-dhālika sakhkharnāhā la-kum la-ʿallakum tashkurūna

The sacrificial camels we have made for you as among the symbols from Allah: in them is (much) good for you: then pronounce the name of Allah over them as they line up (for sacrifice): when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such as (beg not but) live in contentment, and such as beg with due humility: thus have We made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful.

Sura al-Nūr 24:41

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلطَّيْرُ صَٰٓفَّٰتٍ كُلٌّ قَدْ عَلِمَ صَلَاتَهُۥ وَتَسْبِيحَهُۥ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ

a-lam tara annā allāha yusabbiḥu lahu man fī l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-l-ṭayru ṣāffātin kullun qad ʿalima ṣalātahu wa-tasbīḥahu wallāhu ʿalīmun bi-mā yafʿalūna

Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praises all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And Allah knows well all that they do.

Sura al-Ṭūr 52:20

مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ

muttakiʾīna ʿalā sururin maṣfūfatin wa-zawwajnāhum bi-ḥūrin ʿīnin

They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes.

Sura al-Ṣaff 61:4

إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِهِۦ صَفًّا كَأَنَّهُم بُنْيَٰنٌ مَّرْصُوصٌ

inna allāha yuḥibbu lladhīna yuqātilūna fī sabīlihi ṣaffan kaannahum bunyānun marṣūṣun

Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure.

Sura al-Mulk 67:19

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّيْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صَٰٓفَّٰتٍ وَيَقْبِضْنَ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍۭ بَصِيرٌ

a-wa-lam yaraw ilā l-ṭayri fawqahum ṣāffātin wa-yaqbiḍna mā yumsikuhunna illā l-raḥmānu innahu bi-kulli shayʾin baṣīrun

Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them in? None can uphold them except (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly it is He that watches over all things.

Sura al-Nabaʾ 78:38

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا

yawma yaqūmu l-rūḥu wa-l-malāʾikatu ṣaffan lā yatakallamūna illā man adhina lahu l-raḥmānu wa-qāla ṣawāban

The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right.

Sura al-Fajr 89:22

وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا

wa-jāʾa rabbuka wa-l-malaku ṣaffan ṣaffan

And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank,
