Surah 9 al-Tawbah (Repentance)

(9:29)    | قَٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَلَا بِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّـهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ ٱلْحَقِّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ حَتَّىٰ يُعْطُوا۟ ٱلْجِزْيَةَ عَن يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَٰغِرُونَ | qātilū lladhīna lā yuʾminūna billāhi wa‑lā bil‑yawmi l‑akhiri wa‑lā yuḥarrimūna mā ḥarrama allāhu wa‑rasūluhu wa‑lā yadīnūna dīna l‑ḥaqqi mina lladhīna ūtū l‑kitāba ḥattā yuʿṭū l‑jizyata ʿan yadin wa‑hum ṣāghirūna | Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold
that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor
acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the
Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves
subdued.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:29 قَٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَلَا بِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّـهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ ٱلْحَقِّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ حَتَّىٰ يُعْطُوا۟ ٱلْجِزْيَةَ عَن يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَٰغِرُونَ qātilū lladhīna lā yuʾminūna billāhi wa-lā bil-yawmi l-akhiri wa-lā yuḥarrimūna mā ḥarrama allāhu wa-rasūluhu wa-lā yadīnūna dīna l-ḥaqqi mina lladhīna ūtū l-kitāba ḥattā yuʿṭū l-jizyata ʿan yadin wa-hum ṣāghirūna Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. |
| (9:58) | وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَلْمِزُكَ فِى ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ فَإِنْ أُعْطُوا۟ مِنْهَا رَضُوا۟ وَإِن لَّمْ يُعْطَوْا۟ مِنْهَآ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْخَطُونَ | wa‑minhum man yalmizuka fī l‑ṣadaqāti fa‑in uʿṭū minhā raḍū wa‑in lam yuʿṭaw minhā idhā hum yaskhaṭūna | And among them are men who slander thee in the matter of (the
distribution of) the alms: if they are given part thereof, they are
pleased, but if not, behold! they are indignant!
Sura al-Tawbah 9:58 وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَلْمِزُكَ فِى ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ فَإِنْ أُعْطُوا۟ مِنْهَا رَضُوا۟ وَإِن لَّمْ يُعْطَوْا۟ مِنْهَآ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْخَطُونَ wa-minhum man yalmizuka fī l-ṣadaqāti fa-in uʿṭū minhā raḍū wa-in lam yuʿṭaw minhā idhā hum yaskhaṭūna And among them are men who slander thee in the matter of (the distribution of) the alms: if they are given part thereof, they are pleased, but if not, behold! they are indignant! |
Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha) | (20:50) | قَالَ رَبُّنَا ٱلَّذِىٓ أَعْطَىٰ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلْقَهُۥ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ | qalā rabbunā alladhī aʿṭā kulla shayʾin khalqahu thumma hada | He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its
form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance."
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:50 قَالَ رَبُّنَا ٱلَّذِىٓ أَعْطَىٰ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلْقَهُۥ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ qalā rabbunā alladhī aʿṭā kulla shayʾin khalqahu thumma hada He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance." |
Surah 53 al-Najm (The Star) | (53:34) | وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًا وَأَكْدَىٰٓ | wa‑aʿṭā qalīlan wa‑akdā | Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)?
Sura al-Najm 53:34 وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًا وَأَكْدَىٰٓ wa-aʿṭā qalīlan wa-akdā Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? |
Surah 54 al-Qamar (The Moon) | (54:29) | فَنَادَوْا۟ صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ | fa‑nādaw ṣāḥibahum fa‑taʿāṭa fa‑ʿaqara | But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in
hand, and hamstrung (her).
Sura al-Qamar 54:29 فَنَادَوْا۟ صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ fa-nādaw ṣāḥibahum fa-taʿāṭa fa-ʿaqara But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). |
Surah 92 al-Layl (The Night) | (92:5) | فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ | fa‑ammā man aʿṭā wa‑ittaqā | So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah),
Sura al-Layl 92:5 فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ fa-ammā man aʿṭā wa-ittaqā So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), |
Surah 93 al-Ḍuḥā (The Early Hours) | (93:5) | وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ | walasawfa yuʿṭīka rabbuka fa‑tarḍā | And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith)
thou shalt be well-pleased.
Sura al-Ḍuḥā 93:5 وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ walasawfa yuʿṭīka rabbuka fa-tarḍā And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. |
