Sura al-Tawbah 9:77

فَأَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفَاقًا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ بِمَآ أَخْلَفُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ مَا وَعَدُوهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ

fa-aʿqabahum nifāqan fī qulūbihim ilā yawmi yalqawnahu bimā akhlafū allāha mā waʿadūhu wa-bimā kānū yakdhibūna

So He hath put as a consequence hypocrisy into their hearts, (to last) till the Day, whereon they shall meet Him: because they broke their covenant with Allah, and because they lied (again and again).
