Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:80

مَّن يُطِعِ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ ٱللَّـهَ وَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ فَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا

man yuṭiʿi l-rasūla fa-qad aṭāʿa allāha wa-man tawalla fa-mā arsalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan

He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds).

Sura al-Anʿām 6:104

قَدْ جَآءَكُم بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ فَمَنْ أَبْصَرَ فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ وَمَنْ عَمِىَ فَعَلَيْهَا وَمَآ أَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُم بِحَفِيظٍ

qad jāʾakum baṣāʾiru min rabbikum fa-man abṣara fa-li-nafsihi wa-man ʿamiya fa-ʿalayhā wa-mā anā ʿalaykum bi-ḥafīẓin

"Now have come to you, from your Lord, proofs (to open your eyes): if any will see, it will be for (the good of) his own soul; if any will be blind, it will be to his own (harm): I am not (here) to watch over your doings."

Sura al-Anʿām 6:107

وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ مَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟ وَمَا جَعَلْنَٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ

wa-law shāʾa allāhu mā ashrakū wa-mā jaʿalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan wa-mā anta ʿalayhim bi-wakīlin

If it had been Allah's plan, they would not have taken false gods: but We made thee not one to watch over their doings, nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.

Sura Hūd 11:57

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّآ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّى قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُۥ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌ

fa-in tawallaw fa-qad ablaghtukum mā ursiltu bihi ilaykum wa-yastakhlifu rabbī qawman ghayrakum wa-lā taḍurrūnahu shayʾan inna rabbī ʿalā kulli shayʾin ḥafīẓun

"If ye turn away,- I (at least) have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another people to succeed you, and you will not harm Him in the least. For my Lord hath care and watch over all things."

Sura Hūd 11:86

بَقِيَّتُ ٱللَّـهِ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُم بِحَفِيظٍ

baqiyyatu allāhi khayrun la-kum in kuntum muʾminīna wa-mā anā ʿalaykum bi-ḥafīẓin

"That which is left you by Allah is best for you, if ye (but) believed! but I am not set over you to keep watch!"

Sura Yūsuf 12:55

قَالَ ٱجْعَلْنِى عَلَىٰ خَزَآئِنِ ٱلْأَرْضِ إِنِّى حَفِيظٌ عَلِيمٌ

qalā ajʿalnī ʿalā khazāʾini l-arḍi innī ḥafīẓun ʿalīmun

(Joseph) said: "Set me over the store-houses of the land: I will indeed guard them, as one that knows (their importance)."

Sura Yūsuf 12:64

قَالَ هَلْ ءَامَنُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا كَمَآ أَمِنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَخِيهِ مِن قَبْلُ فَٱللَّـهُ خَيْرٌ حَٰفِظًا وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

qalā hal āmanukum ʿalayhi illā ka-mā amintukum ʿala akhīhi min qablu fallāhu khayrun ḥāfiẓan wa-huwa arḥamu l-rāḥimīna

He said: "Shall I trust you with him with any result other than when I trusted you with his brother aforetime? But Allah is the best to take care (of him), and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy!"

Sura Sabaʾ 34:21

وَمَا كَانَ لَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِٱلْأَخِرَةِ مِمَّنْ هُوَ مِنْهَا فِى شَكٍّ وَرَبُّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌ

wa-mā kāna lahu ʿalayhim min sulṭānin illā linaʿlama man yuʾminū bil-akhirati mimman huwa minhā fī shakkin wa-rabbuka ʿalā kulli shayʾin ḥafīẓun

But he had no authority over them,- except that We might test the man who believes in the Hereafter from him who is in doubt concerning it: and thy Lord doth watch over all things.

Sura al-Shūrā 42:6

وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ حَفِيظٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ

wa-lladhīna ittakhadhū min dūnihi awliyāʾa allāhu ḥafīẓun ʿalayhim wa-mā anta ʿalayhim bi-wakīlin

And those who take as protectors others besides Him,- Allah doth watch over them; and thou art not the disposer of their affairs.

Sura al-Shūrā 42:48

فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا۟ فَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا إِنْ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَإِنَّآ إِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً فَرِحَ بِهَا وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَإِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ كَفُورٌ

fa-in aʿraḍū fa-mā arsalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan in ʿalayka illā l-balāghu wa-innā idhā adhaqnā l-insāna minnā raḥmatan fariḥa bihā wa-in tuṣibhum sayyiatun bi-mā qaddamat aydīhim fa-inna l-insāna kafūrun

If then they run away, We have not sent thee as a guard over them. Thy duty is but to convey (the Message). And truly, when We give man a taste of a Mercy from Ourselves, he doth exult thereat, but when some ill happens to him, on account of the deeds which his hands have sent forth, truly then is man ungrateful!
