(7:135) | فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ هُم بَٰلِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ | fa‑lammā kashafnā ʿanhumu l‑rijza ila ajalin hum bālighūhu idhā hum yankuthūna | But every time We removed the penalty from them according to a
fixed term which they had to fulfil,- Behold! they broke their word!

(13:14) | لَهُۥ دَعْوَةُ ٱلْحَقِّ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَسْتَجِيبُونَ لَهُم بِشَىْءٍ إِلَّا كَبَٰسِطِ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَى ٱلْمَآءِ لِيَبْلُغَ فَاهُ وَمَا هُوَ بِبَٰلِغِهِۦ وَمَا دُعَآءُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍ | lahu daʿwatu l‑ḥaqqi wa‑lladhīna yadʿūna min dūnihi lā yastajībūna lahum bi‑shayʾin illā kabāsiṭi kaffayhi ilā l‑māʾi li‑yablugha fāhu wa‑mā huwa bi‑bālighihi wa‑mā duʿāʾu l‑kāfirīna illā fī ḍalālin | For Him (alone) is prayer in Truth: any others that they call
upon besides Him hear them no more than if they were to stretch forth their
hands for water to reach their mouths but it reaches them not: for the
prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile) wandering (in the
mind).
