Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)

(3:37)

فَتَقَبَّلَهَا  رَبُّهَا  بِقَبُولٍ  حَسَنٍ  وَأَنۢبَتَهَا  نَبَاتًا  حَسَنًا  وَكَفَّلَهَا  زَكَرِيَّا  كُلَّمَا  دَخَلَ  عَلَيْهَا  زَكَرِيَّا  ٱلْمِحْرَابَ  وَجَدَ  عِندَهَا  رِزْقًا  قَالَ  يَٰمَرْيَمُ  أَنَّىٰ  لَكِ  هَٰذَا  قَالَتْ  هُوَ  مِنْ  عِندِ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  يَرْزُقُ  مَن  يَشَآءُ  بِغَيْرِ  حِسَابٍ fa‑taqabbalahā rabbuhā bi‑qabūlin ḥasanin wa‑anbatahā nabātan ḥasanan wa‑kaffalahā zakariyyā kullamā dakhala ʿalayhā zakariyyā l‑miḥrāba wajada ʿindahā rizqan qalā yā‑maryamu annā laki hādhā qālat huwa min ʿindi allāhi inna allāha yarzuqu man yashāʾu bi‑ghayri ḥisābin
Right graciously did her Lord accept her: He made her grow in purity and beauty: To the care of Zakariya was she assigned. Every time that he entered (Her) chamber to see her, He found her supplied with sustenance. He said: "O Mary! Whence (comes) this to you?" She said: "From Allah: for Allah Provides sustenance to whom He pleases without measure."
(3:44)

ذَٰلِكَ  مِنْ  أَنۢبَآءِ  ٱلْغَيْبِ  نُوحِيهِ  إِلَيْكَ  وَمَا  كُنتَ  لَدَيْهِمْ  إِذْ  يُلْقُونَ  أَقْلَٰمَهُمْ  أَيُّهُمْ  يَكْفُلُ  مَرْيَمَ  وَمَا  كُنتَ  لَدَيْهِمْ  إِذْ  يَخْتَصِمُونَ dhālika min anbāʾi l‑ghaybi nūḥīhi ilayka wa‑mā kunta ladayhim idh yulqūna aqlāmahum ayyuhum yakfulu maryama wa‑mā kunta ladayhim idh yakhtaṣimūna
This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point).

Surah 4 al-Nisāʾ (The Women)
(4:85)

مَّن  يَشْفَعْ  شَفَٰعَةً  حَسَنَةً  يَكُن  لَّهُۥ  نَصِيبٌ  مِّنْهَا  وَمَن  يَشْفَعْ  شَفَٰعَةً  سَيِّئَةً  يَكُن  لَّهُۥ  كِفْلٌ  مِّنْهَا  وَكَانَ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَىٰ  كُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  مُّقِيتًا man yashfaʿ shafāʿatan ḥasanatan yakun lahu naṣībun minhā wa‑man yashfaʿ shafāʿatan sayyiʾatan yakun lahu kiflun minhā wa‑kāna allāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin muqītan
Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein: And whoever recommends and helps an evil cause, shares in its burden: And Allah hath power over all things.

Surah 16 al-Naḥl (The Bee)
(16:91)

وَأَوْفُوا۟  بِعَهْدِ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِذَا  عَٰهَدتُّمْ  وَلَا  تَنقُضُوا۟  ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ  بَعْدَ  تَوْكِيدِهَا  وَقَدْ  جَعَلْتُمُ  ٱللَّـهَ  عَلَيْكُمْ  كَفِيلًا  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  يَعْلَمُ  مَا  تَفْعَلُونَ wa‑awfū biʿahdi allāhi idhā ʿāhadttum wa‑lā tanquḍū l‑aymāna baʿda tawkīdihā wa‑qad jaʿaltumu allāha ʿalaykum kafīlan inna allāha yaʿlamu tafʿalūna
Fulfil the Covenant of Allah when ye have entered into it, and break not your oaths after ye have confirmed them; indeed ye have made Allah your surety; for Allah knoweth all that ye do.

Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha)
(20:40)

إِذْ  تَمْشِىٓ  أُخْتُكَ  فَتَقُولُ  هَلْ  أَدُلُّكُمْ  عَلَىٰ  مَن  يَكْفُلُهُۥ  فَرَجَعْنَٰكَ  إِلَىٰٓ  أُمِّكَ  كَىْ  تَقَرَّ  عَيْنُهَا  وَلَا  تَحْزَنَ  وَقَتَلْتَ  نَفْسًا  فَنَجَّيْنَٰكَ  مِنَ  ٱلْغَمِّ  وَفَتَنَّٰكَ  فُتُونًا  فَلَبِثْتَ  سِنِينَ  فِىٓ  أَهْلِ  مَدْيَنَ  ثُمَّ  جِئْتَ  عَلَىٰ  قَدَرٍ  يَٰمُوسَىٰ idh tamshī ukhtuka fa‑taqūlu hal adullukum ʿalā man yakfuluhu farajaʿnāka ila ummika kay taqarra ʿaynuhā wa‑lā taḥzana wa‑qatalta nafsan fa‑najjaynāka mina l‑ghammi wa‑fatannāka futūnan fa‑labithta sinīna ahli madyana thumma jiʾta ʿalā qadarin yā‑mūsā
"Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses!

Surah 21 al-Anbiyāʾ (The Prophets)
(21:85)

وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ  وَإِدْرِيسَ  وَذَا  ٱلْكِفْلِ  كُلٌّ  مِّنَ  ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ wa‑ismāʿīla wa‑idrīsa wa‑dhā l‑kifli kullun mina l‑ṣābirīna
And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience;

Surah 28 al-Qaṣaṣ (The Narrative)
(28:12)

وَحَرَّمْنَا  عَلَيْهِ  ٱلْمَرَاضِعَ  مِن  قَبْلُ  فَقَالَتْ  هَلْ  أَدُلُّكُمْ  عَلَىٰٓ  أَهْلِ  بَيْتٍ  يَكْفُلُونَهُۥ  لَكُمْ  وَهُمْ  لَهُۥ  نَٰصِحُونَ wa‑ḥarramnā ʿalayhi l‑marāḍiʿa min qablu faqālat hal adullukum ʿala ahli baytin yakfulūnahu la‑kum wa‑hum lahu nāṣiḥūna
And we ordained that he refused suck at first, until (His sister came up and) said: "Shall I point out to you the people of a house that will nourish and bring him up for you and be sincerely attached to him?"...

Surah 38 Ṣād (Sad)
(38:23)

إِنَّ  هَٰذَآ  أَخِى  لَهُۥ  تِسْعٌ  وَتِسْعُونَ  نَعْجَةً  وَلِىَ  نَعْجَةٌ  وَٰحِدَةٌ  فَقَالَ  أَكْفِلْنِيهَا  وَعَزَّنِى  فِى  ٱلْخِطَابِ inna hādhā akhī lahu tisʿun wa‑tisʿūna naʿjatan wa‑liya naʿjatun wāḥidatun fa‑qāla akfilnīhā wa‑ʿazzanī l‑khiṭābi
"This man is my brother: He has nine and ninety ewes, and I have (but) one: Yet he says, 'commit her to my care,' and is (moreover) harsh to me in speech."
(38:48)

وَٱذْكُرْ  إِسْمَٰعِيلَ  وَٱلْيَسَعَ  وَذَا  ٱلْكِفْلِ  وَكُلٌّ  مِّنَ  ٱلْأَخْيَارِ wa‑idhkur ismāʿīla wa‑l‑yasaʿa wa‑dhā l‑kifli wa‑kullun mina l‑akhyāri
And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good.

Surah 57 al-Ḥadīd (The Iron)
(57:28)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوا۟  ٱتَّقُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  وَءَامِنُوا۟  بِرَسُولِهِۦ  يُؤْتِكُمْ  كِفْلَيْنِ  مِن  رَّحْمَتِهِۦ  وَيَجْعَل  لَّكُمْ  نُورًا  تَمْشُونَ  بِهِۦ  وَيَغْفِرْ  لَكُمْ  وَٱللَّـهُ  غَفُورٌ  رَّحِيمٌ yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ittaqū allāha wa‑āminū birasūlihi yuʾtikum kiflayni min rraḥmatihi wa‑yajʿal la‑kum nūran tamshūna bihi wa‑yaghfir la‑kum wallāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun
O ye that believe! Fear Allah, and believe in His Messenger, and He will bestow on you a double portion of His Mercy: He will provide for you a Light by which ye shall walk (straight in your path), and He will forgive you (your past): for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
