Sura al-Baqara 2:37

فَتَلَقَّىٰٓ ءَادَمُ مِن رَّبِّهِۦ كَلِمَٰتٍ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

fa-talaqqā ādamu min rabbihi kalimātin fa-tāba ʿalayhi innahu huwa l-tawwābu l-raḥīmu

Then learnt Adam from his Lord words of inspiration, and his Lord Turned towards him; for He is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:155

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا۟ مِنكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ إِنَّمَا ٱسْتَزَلَّهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا ٱللَّـهُ عَنْهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ

inna lladhīna tawallaw minkum yawma iltaqā l-jamʿāni innamā istazallahumu l-shayṭānu bi-baʿḍi mā kasabū wa-la-qad ʿafā allāhu ʿanhum inna allāha ghafūrun ḥalīmun

Those of you who turned back on the day the two hosts Met,-it was Satan who caused them to fail, because of some (evil) they had done. But Allah Has blotted out (their fault): For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Forbearing.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:166

وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa-mā aṣābakum yawma iltaqā l-jamʿāni fabiidhni allāhi wa-li-yaʿlama l-muʾminīna

What ye suffered on the day the two armies Met, was with the leave of Allah, in order that He might test the believers,-

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:94

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ فَتَبَيَّنُوا۟ وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَنْ أَلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَٰمَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِنًا تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَعِندَ ٱللَّـهِ مَغَانِمُ كَثِيرَةٌ كَذَٰلِكَ كُنتُم مِّن قَبْلُ فَمَنَّ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū idhā ḍarabtum fī sabīli allāhi fa-tabayyanū wa-lā taqūlū liman alqā ilaykumu l-salāma lasta muʾminan tabtaghūna ʿaraḍa l-ḥayāti l-dunyā fa-ʿinda allāhi maghānimu kathīratun ka-dhālika kuntum min qablu famanna allāhu ʿalaykum fa-tabayyanū inna allāha kāna bi-mā taʿmalūna khabīran

O ye who believe! When ye go abroad in the cause of Allah, investigate carefully, and say not to any one who offers you a salutation: "Thou art none of a believer!" Coveting the perishable goods of this life: with Allah are profits and spoils abundant. Even thus were ye yourselves before, till Allah conferred on you His favours: Therefore carefully investigate. For Allah is well aware of all that ye do.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:171

يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَا تَغْلُوا۟ فِى دِينِكُمْ وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ إِنَّمَا ٱلْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولُ ٱللَّـهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُۥٓ أَلْقَىٰهَآ إِلَىٰ مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِّنْهُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ ثَلَٰثَةٌ ٱنتَهُوا۟ خَيْرًا لَّكُمْ إِنَّمَا ٱللَّـهُ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥٓ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٌ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّـهِ وَكِيلًا

yāʾahla l-kitābi lā taghlū fī dīnikum wa-lā taqūlū ʿalā allāhi illā l-ḥaqqa innamā l-masīḥu ʿīsā ibnu maryama rasūlu allāhi wa-kalimatuhu alqahā ilā maryama wa-rūḥun minhu fa-āminū billāhi wa-rusulihi wa-lā taqūlū thalāthatun antahū khayran la-kum innamā allāhu ilāhun wāḥidun subḥānahu an yakūna lahu waladun lahu mā fī l-samāwāti wa-mā fī l-arḍi wa-kafā billāhi wakīlan

O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:107

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ

fa-alqā ʿaṣāhu fa-idhā hiya thuʿbānun mubīnun

Then (Moses) threw his rod, and behold! it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:115

قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلْقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُلْقِينَ

qālū yā-mūsā immā an tulqiya waimmā an nnakūna naḥnu l-mulqīna

They said: "O Moses! wilt thou throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?"

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:117

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ

wa-awḥaynā ilā mūsā an alqi ʿaṣāka fa-idhā hiya talqafu mā yafikūna

We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod":and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake!

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:120

وَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ

wa-ulqiya l-saḥaratu sājidīna

But the sorcerers fell down prostrate in adoration.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:150

وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ غَضْبَٰنَ أَسِفًا قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِى مِنۢ بَعْدِىٓ أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَلْقَى ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيهِ يَجُرُّهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ ٱبْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱسْتَضْعَفُونِى وَكَادُوا۟ يَقْتُلُونَنِى فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِىَ ٱلْأَعْدَآءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

wa-lammā rajaʿa mūsā ilā qawmihi ghaḍbāna asifan qalā biʾsamā khalaftumūnī min baʿdī aʿajiltum amra rabbikum wa-alqa l-alwāḥa wa-akhadha bi-raʾsi akhīhi yajurruhu ilayhi qalā ibna umma inna l-qawma istaḍʿafūnī wa-kādū yaqtulūnanī fa-lā tushmit biya l-aʿdāʾa wa-lā tajʿalnī maʿa l-qawmi l-ẓālimīna

When Moses came back to his people, angry and grieved, he said: "Evil it is that ye have done in my place in my absence: did ye make haste to bring on the judgment of your Lord?" He put down the tablets, seized his brother by (the hair of) his head, and dragged him to him. Aaron said: "Son of my mother! the people did indeed reckon me as naught, and went near to slaying me! Make not the enemies rejoice over my misfortune, nor count thou me amongst the people of sin."

Sura al-Anfāl 8:12

إِذْ يُوحِى رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ أَنِّى مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ سَأُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ فَٱضْرِبُوا۟ فَوْقَ ٱلْأَعْنَاقِ وَٱضْرِبُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَانٍ

idh yūḥī rabbuka ilā l-malāʾikati annī maʿakum fathabbitū lladhīna āmanū saulqī fī qulūbi lladhīna kafarū l-ruʿba faḍribū fawqa l-aʿnāqi wa-aḍribū minhum kulla banānin

Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them."

Sura al-Anfāl 8:41

وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُم مِّن شَىْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّـهِ خُمُسَهُۥ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ إِن كُنتُمْ ءَامَنتُم بِٱللَّـهِ وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

wa-iʿlamū annamā ghanimtum min shayʾin fa-annā lillāhi khumusahu wa-lil-rasūli wa-lidhī l-qurbā wa-l-yatāmā wa-l-masākīni wa-ibni l-sabīli in kuntum āmantum billāhi wa-mā anzalnā ʿalā ʿabdinā yawma l-furqāni yawma iltaqā l-jamʿāni wallāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

And know that out of all the booty that ye may acquire (in war), a fifth share is assigned to Allah,- and to the Messenger, and to near relatives, orphans, the needy, and the wayfarer,- if ye do believe in Allah and in the revelation We sent down to Our servant on the Day of Testing,- the Day of the meeting of the two forces. For Allah hath power over all things.

Sura Yūsuf 12:96

فَلَمَّآ أَن جَآءَ ٱلْبَشِيرُ أَلْقَىٰهُ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦ فَٱرْتَدَّ بَصِيرًا قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

fa-lammā an jāa l-bashīru alqahu ʿalā wajhihi fartadda baṣīran qalā a-lam aqul la-kum innī aʿlamu mina allāhi mā lā taʿlamūna

Then when the bearer of the good news came, He cast (the shirt) over his face, and he forthwith regained clear sight. He said: "Did I not say to you, 'I know from Allah that which ye know not?'"

Sura al-Naḥl 16:15

وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَٰرًا وَسُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

wa-alqa fī l-arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bikum wa-anhāran wa-subulan la-ʿallakum tahtadūna

And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide yourselves;

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:13

وَكُلَّ إِنسَٰنٍ أَلْزَمْنَٰهُ طَٰٓئِرَهُۥ فِى عُنُقِهِۦ وَنُخْرِجُ لَهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ كِتَٰبًا يَلْقَىٰهُ مَنشُورًا

wa-kulla insānin alzamnāhu ṭāʾirahu fī ʿunuqihi wa-nukhriju lahu yawma l-qiyāmati kitāban yalqahu manshūran

Every man's fate We have fastened on his own neck: On the Day of Judgment We shall bring out for him a scroll, which he will see spread open.

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:39

ذَٰلِكَ مِمَّآ أَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ رَبُّكَ مِنَ ٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ مَعَ ٱللَّـهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتُلْقَىٰ فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَلُومًا مَّدْحُورًا

dhālika mimmā awḥā ilayka rabbuka mina l-ḥikmati wa-lā tajʿal maʿa allāhi ilāhan ākhara fa-tulqā fī jahannama malūman madḥūran

These are among the (precepts of) wisdom, which thy Lord has revealed to thee. Take not, with Allah, another object of worship, lest thou shouldst be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected.

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:19

قَالَ أَلْقِهَا يَٰمُوسَىٰ

qalā alqihā yā-mūsā

(Allah) said, "Throw it, O Moses!"

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:20

فَأَلْقَىٰهَا فَإِذَا هِىَ حَيَّةٌ تَسْعَىٰ

fa-alqāhā fa-idhā hiya ḥayyatun tasʿa

He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion.

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:39

أَنِ ٱقْذِفِيهِ فِى ٱلتَّابُوتِ فَٱقْذِفِيهِ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ فَلْيُلْقِهِ ٱلْيَمُّ بِٱلسَّاحِلِ يَأْخُذْهُ عَدُوٌّ لِّى وَعَدُوٌّ لَّهُۥ وَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْكَ مَحَبَّةً مِّنِّى وَلِتُصْنَعَ عَلَىٰ عَيْنِىٓ

ani iqdhifīhi fī l-tābūti fa-iqdhifīhi fī l-yammi fa-l-yulqihi l-yammu bil-sāḥili yakhudhhu ʿaduwwun lī wa-ʿaduwwun lahu wa-alqaytu ʿalayka maḥabbatan minnī wa-li-tuṣnaʿa ʿalā ʿaynī

"'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye.

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:65

قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلْقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَلْقَىٰ

qālū yā-mūsā immā an tulqiya waimmā an nnakūna awwala man alqā

They said: "O Moses! whether wilt thou that thou throw (first) or that we be the first to throw?"

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:69

وَأَلْقِ مَا فِى يَمِينِكَ تَلْقَفْ مَا صَنَعُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا صَنَعُوا۟ كَيْدُ سَٰحِرٍ وَلَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلسَّاحِرُ حَيْثُ أَتَىٰ

wa-alqi mā fī yamīnika talqaf mā ṣanaʿū innamā ṣanaʿū kaydu sāḥirin wa-lā yufliḥu l-sāḥiru ḥaythu ata

"Throw that which is in thy right hand: Quickly will it swallow up that which they have faked what they have faked is but a magician's trick: and the magician thrives not, (no matter) where he goes."

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:70

فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سُجَّدًا قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ هَٰرُونَ وَمُوسَىٰ

fa-ulqiya l-saḥaratu sujjadan qālū āmannā bi-rabbī hārūna wa-mūsa

So the magicians were thrown down to prostration: they said, "We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses".

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:87

قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَخْلَفْنَا مَوْعِدَكَ بِمَلْكِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا حُمِّلْنَآ أَوْزَارًا مِّن زِينَةِ ٱلْقَوْمِ فَقَذَفْنَٰهَا فَكَذَٰلِكَ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ

qālū mā akhlafnā mawʿidaka bi-malkinā wa-lākinnā ḥummilnā awzāran min zīnati l-qawmi fa-qadhafnāhā fa-ka-dhālika alqā l-sāmiriyyu

They said: "We broke not the promise to thee, as far as lay in our power: but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the (whole) people, and we threw them (into the fire), and that was what the Samiri suggested.

Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:103

لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ ٱلْفَزَعُ ٱلْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ

lā yaḥzunuhumu l-fazaʿu l-akbaru wa-tatalaqqahumu l-malāʾikatu hādhā yawmukumu alladhī kuntum tūʿadūna

The Great Terror will bring them no grief: but the angels will meet them (with mutual greetings): "This is your Day,- (the Day) that ye were promised."

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:52

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ وَلَا نَبِىٍّ إِلَّآ إِذَا تَمَنَّىٰٓ أَلْقَى ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فِىٓ أُمْنِيَّتِهِۦ فَيَنسَخُ ٱللَّـهُ مَا يُلْقِى ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ ثُمَّ يُحْكِمُ ٱللَّـهُ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

wa-mā arsalnā min qablika min rrasūlin wa-lā nabiyyin illā idhā tamannā alqā l-shayṭānu fī umnīyatihi fa-yansakhu allāhu mā yulqī l-shayṭānu thumma yuḥkimu allāhu āyātihi wallāhu ʿalīmun ḥakīmun

Never did We send a messenger or a prophet before thee, but, when he framed a desire, Satan threw some (vanity) into his desire: but Allah will cancel anything (vain) that Satan throws in, and Allah will confirm (and establish) His Signs: for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom:

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:53

لِّيَجْعَلَ مَا يُلْقِى ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَٱلْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَفِى شِقَاقٍۭ بَعِيدٍ

li-yajʿala mā yulqī l-shayṭānu fitnatan li-lladhīna fī qulūbihim maraḍun wa-l-qāsiyati qulūbuhum wa-inna l-ẓālimīna la-fī shiqāqin baʿīdin

That He may make the suggestions thrown in by Satan, but a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease and who are hardened of heart: verily the wrong-doers are in a schism far (from the Truth):

Sura al-Furqān 25:8

أَوْ يُلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ تَكُونُ لَهُۥ جَنَّةٌ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا رَجُلًا مَّسْحُورًا

aw yulqā ilayhi kanzun aw takūnu lahu jannatun yakulu minhā wa-qāla l-ẓālimūna in tattabiʿūna illā rajulan masḥūran

"Or (Why) has not a treasure been bestowed on him, or why has he (not) a garden for enjoyment?" The wicked say: "Ye follow none other than a man bewitched."

Sura al-Furqān 25:68

وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّـهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّـهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًا

wa-lladhīna lā yadʿūna maʿa allāhi ilāhan ākhara wa-lā yaqtulūna l-nafsa allatī ḥarrama allāhu illā bil-ḥaqqi wa-lā yaznūna wa-man yafʿal dhālika yalqa athāman

Those who invoke not, with Allah, any other god, nor slay such life as Allah has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; - and any that does this (not only) meets punishment.

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:32

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ

fa-alqā ʿaṣāhu fa-idhā hiya thuʿbānun mubīnun

So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:45

فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ

fa-alqā mūsā ʿaṣāhu fa-idhā hiya talqafu mā yafikūna

Then Moses threw his rod, when, behold, it straightway swallows up all the falsehoods which they fake!

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:46

فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ

fa-ulqiya l-saḥaratu sājidīna

Then did the sorcerers fall down, prostrate in adoration,

Sura al-Naml 27:6

وَإِنَّكَ لَتُلَقَّى ٱلْقُرْءَانَ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ عَلِيمٍ

wainnaka la-tulaqqā l-qurʾāna min lladun ḥakīmin ʿalīmin

As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing.

Sura al-Naml 27:10

وَأَلْقِ عَصَاكَ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَآنٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَا تَخَفْ إِنِّى لَا يَخَافُ لَدَىَّ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

wa-alqi ʿaṣāka fa-lammā raʾāhā tahtazzu ka-annahā jānnun walla mudbiran wa-lam yuʿaqqib yā-mūsā lā takhaf innī lā yakhāfu ladayya l-mursalūna

"Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord)as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,-

Sura al-Naml 27:28

ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَٰبِى هَٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ

idhhab bi-kitābī hādhā fa-alqih ilayhim thumma tawalla ʿanhum fa-anẓur mādhā yarjiʿūna

"Go thou, with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them: then draw back from them, and (wait to) see what answer they return"...

Sura al-Naml 27:29

قَالَتْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ إِنِّىٓ أُلْقِىَ إِلَىَّ كِتَٰبٌ كَرِيمٌ

qālat yā-ayyuhā l-malaʾu innī ulqiya ilayya kitābun karīmun

(The queen) said: "Ye chiefs! here is delivered to me - a letter worthy of respect.

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:7

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَرْضِعِيهِ فَإِذَا خِفْتِ عَلَيْهِ فَأَلْقِيهِ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِى وَلَا تَحْزَنِىٓ إِنَّا رَآدُّوهُ إِلَيْكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

wa-awḥaynā ila ummi mūsā an arḍiʿīhi fa-idhā khifti ʿalayhi fa-alqīhi fī l-yammi wa-lā takhāfī wa-lā taḥzanī innā rāddūhu ilayki wa-jāʿilūhu mina l-mursalīna

So We sent this inspiration to the mother of Moses: "Suckle (thy child), but when thou hast fears about him, cast him into the river, but fear not nor grieve: for We shall restore him to thee, and We shall make him one of Our messengers."

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:31

وَأَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَآنٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَقْبِلْ وَلَا تَخَفْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأَمِنِينَ

wa-an alqi ʿaṣāka fa-lammā raʾāhā tahtazzu ka-annahā jānnun walla mudbiran wa-lam yuʿaqqib yā-mūsā aqbil wa-lā takhaf innaka mina l-aminīna

"Now do thou throw thy rod!" but when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: O Moses!" (It was said), "Draw near, and fear not: for thou art of those who are secure.

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:80

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ ٱللَّـهِ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنْ ءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا وَلَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلصَّٰبِرُونَ

wa-qāla lladhīna ūtū l-ʿilma waylakum thawābu allāhi khayrun li-man āmana wa-ʿamila ṣāliḥan wa-lā yulaqqāhā illā l-ṣābirūna

But those who had been granted (true) knowledge said: "Alas for you! The reward of Allah (in the Hereafter) is best for those who believe and work righteousness: but this none shall attain, save those who steadfastly persevere (in good)."

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:86

وَمَا كُنتَ تَرْجُوٓا۟ أَن يُلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيرًا لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-mā kunta tarjū an yulqā ilayka l-kitābu illā raḥmatan min rabbika fa-lā takūnanna ẓahīran lil-kāfirīna

And thou hadst not expected that the Book would be sent to thee except as a Mercy from thy Lord: Therefore lend not thou support in any way to those who reject (Allah's Message).

Sura Luqmān 31:10

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٍ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ

khalaqa l-samāwāti bi-ghayri ʿamadin tarawnahā wa-alqa fī l-arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bikum wa-baththa fīhā min kulli dābbatin wa-anzalnā mina l-samāʾi māʾan fa-anbatnā fīhā min kulli zawjin karīmin

He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs.

Sura al-Ghāfir 40:15

رَفِيعُ ٱلدَّرَجَٰتِ ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ يُلْقِى ٱلرُّوحَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ لِيُنذِرَ يَوْمَ ٱلتَّلَاقِ

rafīʿu l-darajāti dhū l-ʿarshi yulqī l-rūḥa min amrihi ʿalā man yashāʾu min ʿibādihi li-yundhira yawma l-talāqi

Raised high above ranks (or degrees), (He is) the Lord of the Throne (of Authority): by His Command doth He send the Spirit (of inspiration) to any of His servants he pleases, that it may warn (men) of the Day of Mutual Meeting,-

Sura Fuṣṣilat 41:35

وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ

wa-mā yulaqqāhā illā lladhīna ṣabarū wa-mā yulaqqāhā illā dhū ḥaẓẓin ʿaẓīmin

And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,- none but persons of the greatest good fortune.

Sura Fuṣṣilat 41:40

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا لَا يَخْفَوْنَ عَلَيْنَآ أَفَمَن يُلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلنَّارِ خَيْرٌ أَم مَّن يَأْتِىٓ ءَامِنًا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ مَا شِئْتُمْ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ

inna lladhīna yulḥidūna fī āyātinā lā yakhfawna ʿalaynā a-fa-man yulqā fī l-nāri khayrun am man yaʾtī āminan yawma l-qiyāmati iʿmalū mā shiʾtum innahu bi-mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun

Those who pervert the Truth in Our Signs are not hidden from Us. Which is better?- he that is cast into the Fire, or he that comes safe through, on the Day of Judgment? Do what ye will: verily He seeth (clearly) all that ye do.

Sura al-Zukhruf 43:53

فَلَوْلَآ أُلْقِىَ عَلَيْهِ أَسْوِرَةٌ مِّن ذَهَبٍ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ مُقْتَرِنِينَ

fa-lawlā ulqiya ʿalayhi aswiratun min dhahabin aw jāa maʿahu l-malāʾikatu muqtarinīna

"Then why are not gold bracelets bestowed on him, or (why) come (not) with him angels accompanying him in procession?"

Sura Qāf 50:17

إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ٱلْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ

idh yatalaqqa l-mutalaqqiyāni ʿani l-yamīni wa-ʿani l-shimāli qaʿīdun

Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left.

Sura Qāf 50:37

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ

inna fī dhālika la-dhikrā li-man kāna lahu qalbun aw alqā l-samʿa wa-huwa shahīdun

Verily in this is a Message for any that has a heart and understanding or who gives ear and earnestly witnesses (the truth).

Sura al-Qamar 54:12

وَفَجَّرْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَٱلْتَقَى ٱلْمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ

wa-fajjarnā l-arḍa ʿuyūnan fa-iltaqā l-māʾu ʿala amrin qad qudira

And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed.

Sura al-Qamar 54:25

أَءُلْقِىَ ٱلذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ

a-ulqiya l-dhikru ʿalayhi min bayninā bal huwa kadhdhābun ashirun

"Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!"

Sura al-Mulk 67:8

تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ كُلَّمَآ أُلْقِىَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ

takādu tamayyazu mina l-ghayẓi kullamā ulqiya fīhā fawjun saʾalahum khazanatuhā a-lam yatikum nadhīrun

Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?"

Sura al-Qiyāmah 75:15

وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ

wa-law alqā maʿādhīrahu

Even though he were to put up his excuses.
