Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:22

وَلَا تَنكِحُوا۟ مَا نَكَحَ ءَابَآؤُكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَٰحِشَةً وَمَقْتًا وَسَآءَ سَبِيلًا

wa-lā tankiḥū mā nakaḥa ābāukum mina l-nisāʾi illā mā qad salafa innahu kāna fāḥishatan wa-maqtan wa-sāʾa sabīlan

And marry not women whom your fathers married,- except what is past: It was shameful and odious,- an abominable custom indeed.

Sura al-Faṭīr 35:39

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُۥ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا مَقْتًا وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ إِلَّا خَسَارًا

huwa alladhī jaʿalakum khalāʾifa fī l-arḍi fa-man kafara faʿalayhi kufruhu wa-lā yazīdu l-kāfirīna kufruhum ʿinda rabbihim illā maqtan wa-lā yazīdu l-kāfirīna kufruhum illā khasāran

He it is That has made you inheritors in the earth: if, then, any do reject (Allah), their rejection (works) against themselves: their rejection but adds to the odium for the Unbelievers in the sight of their Lord: their rejection but adds to (their own) undoing.

Sura al-Ghāfir 40:10

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُنَادَوْنَ لَمَقْتُ ٱللَّـهِ أَكْبَرُ مِن مَّقْتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ إِذْ تُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلْإِيمَٰنِ فَتَكْفُرُونَ

inna lladhīna kafarū yunādawna lamaqtu allāhi akbaru min maqtikum anfusakum idh tudʿawna ilā l-īmāni fa-takfurūna

The Unbelievers will be addressed: "Greater was the aversion of Allah to you than (is) your aversion to yourselves, seeing that ye were called to the Faith and ye used to refuse."

Sura al-Ghāfir 40:35

ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَٰنٍ أَتَىٰهُمْ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَعِندَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ قَلْبِ مُتَكَبِّرٍ جَبَّارٍ

lladhīna yujādilūna fī āyāti allāhi bi-ghayri sulṭānin atāhum kabura maqtan ʿinda allāhi wa-ʿinda lladhīna āmanū ka-dhālika yaṭbaʿu allāhu ʿalā kulli qalbi mutakabbirin jabbārin

"(Such) as dispute about the Signs of Allah, without any authority that hath reached them, grievous and odious (is such conduct) in the sight of Allah and of the Believers. Thus doth Allah, seal up every heart - of arrogant and obstinate Transgressors."

Sura al-Ṣaff 61:3

كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ

kabura maqtan ʿinda allāhi an taqūlū mā lā tafʿalūna

Grievously odious is it in the sight of Allah that ye say that which ye do not.
