Sura Yūsuf 12:17

قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَآ إِنَّا ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبِقُ وَتَرَكْنَا يُوسُفَ عِندَ مَتَٰعِنَا فَأَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ لَّنَا وَلَوْ كُنَّا صَٰدِقِينَ

qālū yāabānā innā dhahabnā nastabiqu wa-taraknā yūsufa ʿinda matāʿinā fa-akalahu l-dhiʾbu wa-mā anta bimuminin lanā wa-law kunnā ṣādiqīna

They said: "O our father! We went racing with one another, and left Joseph with our things; and the wolf devoured him.... But thou wilt never believe us even though we tell the truth."
