Surah 10 Yūnus (Jonah)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(10:24)

إِنَّمَا  مَثَلُ  ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ  ٱلدُّنْيَا  كَمَآءٍ  أَنزَلْنَٰهُ  مِنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  فَٱخْتَلَطَ  بِهِۦ  نَبَاتُ  ٱلْأَرْضِ  مِمَّا  يَأْكُلُ  ٱلنَّاسُ  وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمُ  حَتَّىٰٓ  إِذَآ  أَخَذَتِ  ٱلْأَرْضُ  زُخْرُفَهَا  وَٱزَّيَّنَتْ  وَظَنَّ  أَهْلُهَآ  أَنَّهُمْ  قَٰدِرُونَ  عَلَيْهَآ  أَتَىٰهَآ  أَمْرُنَا  لَيْلًا  أَوْ  نَهَارًا  فَجَعَلْنَٰهَا  حَصِيدًا  كَأَن  لَّمْ  تَغْنَ  بِٱلْأَمْسِ  كَذَٰلِكَ  نُفَصِّلُ  ٱلْأَيَٰتِ  لِقَوْمٍ  يَتَفَكَّرُونَ innamā mathalu l‑ḥayāti l‑dunyā ka‑māʾin anzalnāhu mina l‑samāʾi fa‑ikhtalaṭa bihi nabātu l‑arḍi mimmā yakulu l‑nāsu wa‑l‑anʿāmu ḥatta idhā akhadhati l‑arḍu zukhrufahā wa‑azzayyanat wa‑ẓanna ahluhā annahum qādirūna ʿalayhā atahā amrunā laylan aw nahāran fa‑jaʿalnāhā ḥaṣīdan ka‑an lam taghna bil‑amsi ka‑dhālika nufaṣṣilu l‑ayāti li‑qawmin yatafakkarūna
The likeness of the life of the present is as the rain which We send down from the skies: by its mingling arises the produce of the earth- which provides food for men and animals: (It grows) till the earth is clad with its golden ornaments and is decked out (in beauty): the people to whom it belongs think they have all powers of disposal over it: There reaches it Our command by night or by day, and We make it like a harvest clean-mown, as if it had not flourished only the day before! thus do We explain the Signs in detail for those who reflect.

Surah 18 al-Kahf (The Cave)
(18:45)

وَٱضْرِبْ  لَهُم  مَّثَلَ  ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ  ٱلدُّنْيَا  كَمَآءٍ  أَنزَلْنَٰهُ  مِنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  فَٱخْتَلَطَ  بِهِۦ  نَبَاتُ  ٱلْأَرْضِ  فَأَصْبَحَ  هَشِيمًا  تَذْرُوهُ  ٱلرِّيَٰحُ  وَكَانَ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَىٰ  كُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  مُّقْتَدِرًا wa‑iḍrib lahum mathala l‑ḥayāti l‑dunyā ka‑māʾin anzalnāhu mina l‑samāʾi fa‑ikhtalaṭa bihi nabātu l‑arḍi fa‑aṣbaḥa hashīman tadhrūhu l‑riyāḥu wa‑kāna allāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin muqtadiran
Set forth to them the similitude of the life of this world: It is like the rain which we send down from the skies: the earth's vegetation absorbs it, but soon it becomes dry stubble, which the winds do scatter: it is (only) Allah who prevails over all things.

Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha)
(20:53)

ٱلَّذِى  جَعَلَ  لَكُمُ  ٱلْأَرْضَ  مَهْدًا  وَسَلَكَ  لَكُمْ  فِيهَا  سُبُلًا  وَأَنزَلَ  مِنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  مَآءً  فَأَخْرَجْنَا  بِهِۦٓ  أَزْوَٰجًا  مِّن  نَّبَاتٍ  شَتَّىٰ alladhī jaʿala lakumu l‑arḍa mahdan wa‑salaka la‑kum fīhā subulan wa‑anzala mina l‑samāʾi māʾan fa‑akhrajnā bihi azwājan min nnabātin shatta
"He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others.
