Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)

(5:63)	لَوْلَا يَنْهَىٰهُمُ ٱلرَّبَّٰنِيُّونَ وَٱلْأَحْبَارُ عَن قَوْلِهِمُ ٱلْإِثْمَ وَأَكْلِهِمُ ٱلسُّحْتَ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَصْنَعُونَ	lawlā yanhahumu l‑rabbānīyūna wa‑l‑aḥbāru ʿan qawlihimu lithma wa‑aklihimu l‑suḥta la‑biʾsa mā kānū yaṣnaʿūna	Why do not the rabbis and the doctors of Law forbid them from their (habit of) uttering sinful words and eating things forbidden? Evil indeed are their works.
