Sura Yūsuf 12:21

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِى ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مِن مِّصْرَ لِٱمْرَأَتِهِۦٓ أَكْرِمِى مَثْوَىٰهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدًا وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُۥ مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ وَٱللَّـهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

wa-qāla alladhī ishtarāhu min miṣra li-imraʾatihi akrimī mathwahu ʿasā an yanfaʿanā aw nattakhidhahu waladan wa-ka-dhālika makkannā li-yūsufa fī l-arḍi wa-linuʿallimahu min taʾwīli l-aḥādīthi wallāhu ghālibun ʿala amrihi wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yaʿlamūna

The man in Egypt who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his stay (among us) honourable: may be he will bring us much good, or we shall adopt him as a son." Thus did We establish Joseph in the land, that We might teach him the interpretation of stories (and events). And Allah hath full power and control over His affairs; but most among mankind know it not.

Sura Yūsuf 12:38

وَٱتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ ءَابَآءِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ مَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نُّشْرِكَ بِٱللَّـهِ مِن شَىْءٍ ذَٰلِكَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ

wa-ittabaʿtu millata ābāī ibrāhīma wa-isḥāqa wa-yaʿqūba mā kāna lanā an nushrika billāhi min shayʾin dhālika min faḍli allāhi ʿalaynā wa-ʿala l-nāsi wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yashkurūna

"And I follow the ways of my fathers,- Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and never could we attribute any partners whatever to Allah: that (comes) of the grace of Allah to us and to mankind: yet most men are not grateful.

Sura Yūsuf 12:40

مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءً سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِنِ ٱلْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّـهِ أَمَرَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

mā taʿbudūna min dūnihi illā asmāʾan sammaytumūhā antum wa-ābāukum mā anzala allāhu bihā min sulṭānin ini l-ḥukmu illā lillāhi amara allā taʿbudū illā iyyāhu dhālika l-dīnu l-qayyimu wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yaʿlamūna

"If not Him, ye worship nothing but names which ye have named,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah hath sent down no authority: the command is for none but Allah: He hath commanded that ye worship none but Him: that is the right religion, but most men understand not...

Sura Yūsuf 12:46

يُوسُفُ أَيُّهَا ٱلصِّدِّيقُ أَفْتِنَا فِى سَبْعِ بَقَرَٰتٍ سِمَانٍ يَأْكُلُهُنَّ سَبْعٌ عِجَافٌ وَسَبْعِ سُنۢبُلَٰتٍ خُضْرٍ وَأُخَرَ يَابِسَٰتٍ لَّعَلِّىٓ أَرْجِعُ إِلَى ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

yūsufu ayyuhā l-ṣiddīqu aftinā fī sabʿi baqarātin simānin yaʾkuluhunna sabʿun ʿijāfun wa-sabʿi sunbulātin khuḍrin wa-ukhara yābisātin laʿallī arjiʿu ilā l-nāsi la-ʿallahum yaʿlamūna

"O Joseph!" (he said) "O man of truth! Expound to us (the dream) of seven fat kine whom seven lean ones devour, and of seven green ears of corn and (seven) others withered: that I may return to the people, and that they may understand."

Sura Yūsuf 12:49

ثُمَّ يَأْتِى مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ عَامٌ فِيهِ يُغَاثُ ٱلنَّاسُ وَفِيهِ يَعْصِرُونَ

thumma yaʾtī min baʿdi dhālika ʿāmun fīhi yughāthu l-nāsu wa-fīhi yaʿṣirūna

"Then will come after that (period) a year in which the people will have abundant water, and in which they will press (wine and oil)."

Sura Yūsuf 12:68

وَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا۟ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَهُمْ أَبُوهُم مَّا كَانَ يُغْنِى عَنْهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ مِن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا حَاجَةً فِى نَفْسِ يَعْقُوبَ قَضَىٰهَا وَإِنَّهُۥ لَذُو عِلْمٍ لِّمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

wa-lammā dakhalū min ḥaythu amarahum abūhum mā kāna yughnī ʿanhum mina allāhi min shayʾin illā ḥājatan fī nafsi yaʿqūba qaḍahā wa-innahu la-dhū ʿilmin li-mā ʿallamnāhu wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yaʿlamūna

And when they entered in the manner their father had enjoined, it did not profit them in the least against (the plan of) Allah: It was but a necessity of Jacob's soul, which he discharged. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge (and experience): but most men know not.

Sura Yūsuf 12:103

وَمَآ أَكْثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa-mā aktharu l-nāsi wa-law ḥaraṣta bi-mūʾminīna

Yet no faith will the greater part of mankind have, however ardently thou dost desire it.
