adopt him as a son." And they perceived not (what they were doing)!

(29:24) | فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَىٰهُ ٱللَّـهُ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ | fa‑mā kāna jawāba qawmihi illā an qālū iqtulūhu aw ḥarriqūhu fa‑ajāhu allāhu mina l‑nāri inna fī dhālika la‑āyātin li‑qawmin yuʾminūna | So naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except that
they said: "Slay him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the Fire.
Verily in this are Signs for people who believe.
