Sura Yūsuf 12:9

ٱقْتُلُوا۟ يُوسُفَ أَوِ ٱطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًا يَخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ أَبِيكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ قَوْمًا صَٰلِحِينَ

iqtulū yūsufa awi iṭraḥūhu arḍan yakhlu la-kum wajhu abīkum wa-takūnū min baʿdihi qawman ṣāliḥīna

"Slay ye Joseph or cast him out to some (unknown) land, that so the favour of your father may be given to you alone: (there will be time enough) for you to be righteous after that!"

Sura Yūsuf 12:10

قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ لَا تَقْتُلُوا۟ يُوسُفَ وَأَلْقُوهُ فِى غَيَٰبَتِ ٱلْجُبِّ يَلْتَقِطْهُ بَعْضُ ٱلسَّيَّارَةِ إِن كُنتُمْ فَٰعِلِينَ

qalā qāʾilun minhum lā taqtulū yūsufa wa-alqūhu fī ghayābati l-jubbi yaltaqiṭhu baʿḍu l-sayyārati in kuntum fāʿilīna

Said one of them: "Slay not Joseph, but if ye must do something, throw him down to the bottom of the well: he will be picked up by some caravan of travellers."
