Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:207)

وَمِنَ  ٱلنَّاسِ  مَن  يَشْرِى  نَفْسَهُ  ٱبْتِغَآءَ  مَرْضَاتِ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَٱللَّـهُ  رَءُوفٌۢ  بِٱلْعِبَادِ wa‑mina l‑nāsi man yashrī nafsahu ibtighāʾa marḍāti allāhi wallāhu raʾūfun bil‑ʿibādi
And there is the type of man who gives his life to earn the pleasure of Allah: And Allah is full of kindness to (His) devotees.
(2:233)

The mothers shall give such to their offspring for two whole years, if the father desires to complete the term. But he shall bear the cost of their food and clothing on equitable terms. No soul shall have a burden laid on it greater than it can bear. No mother shall be Treated unfairly on account of her child. Nor father on account of his child, an heir shall be chargeable in the same way. If they both decide on weaning, by mutual consent, and after due consultation, there is no blame on them. If ye decide on a foster-mother for your offspring, there is no blame on you, provided ye pay (the mother) what ye offered, on equitable terms. But fear Allah and know that Allah sees well what ye do.
(2:265)

وَمَثَلُ  ٱلَّذِينَ  يُنفِقُونَ  أَمْوَٰلَهُمُ  ٱبْتِغَآءَ  مَرْضَاتِ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَتَثْبِيتًا  مِّنْ  أَنفُسِهِمْ  كَمَثَلِ  جَنَّةٍۭ  بِرَبْوَةٍ  أَصَابَهَا  وَابِلٌ  فَـَٔاتَتْ  أُكُلَهَا  ضِعْفَيْنِ  فَإِن  لَّمْ  يُصِبْهَا  وَابِلٌ  فَطَلٌّ  وَٱللَّـهُ  بِمَا  تَعْمَلُونَ  بَصِيرٌ wa‑mathalu lladhīna yunfiqūna amwālahumu ibtighāʾa marḍāti allāhi wa‑tathbītan min anfusihim ka‑mathali jannatin bi‑rabwatin aṣābahā wābilun fa‑ātat ukulahā ḍiʿfayni fa‑in lam yuṣibhā wābilun fa‑ṭallun wallāhu bi‑mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun
And the likeness of those who spend their substance, seeking to please Allah and to strengthen their souls, is as a garden, high and fertile: heavy rain falls on it but makes it yield a double increase of harvest, and if it receives not Heavy rain, light moisture sufficeth it. Allah seeth well whatever ye do.

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:15)

Say: Shall I give you glad tidings of things Far better than those? For the righteous are Gardens in nearness to their Lord, with rivers flowing beneath; therein is their eternal home; with companions pure (and holy); and the good pleasure of Allah. For in Allah's sight are (all) His servants,-
(3:162)

أَفَمَنِ  ٱتَّبَعَ  رِضْوَٰنَ  ٱللَّـهِ  كَمَنۢ  بَآءَ  بِسَخَطٍ  مِّنَ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَمَأْوَىٰهُ  جَهَنَّمُ  وَبِئْسَ  ٱلْمَصِيرُ afamani ittabaʿa riḍwāna allāhi kaman bāʾa bi‑sakhaṭin mina allāhi wa‑māʾwāhu jahannamu wa‑biʾsa l‑maṣīru
Is the man who follows the good pleasure of Allah Like the man who draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and whose abode is in Hell?- A woeful refuge!
(3:174)

And they returned with Grace and bounty from Allah: no harm ever touched them: For they followed the good pleasure of Allah: And Allah is the Lord of bounties unbounded.

Surah 4 al-Nisāʾ (The Women)
(4:29)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوا۟  لَا  تَأْكُلُوٓا۟  أَمْوَٰلَكُم  بَيْنَكُم  بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ  إِلَّآ  أَن  تَكُونَ  تِجَٰرَةً  عَن  تَرَاضٍ  مِّنكُمْ  وَلَا  تَقْتُلُوٓا۟  أَنفُسَكُمْ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  كَانَ  بِكُمْ  رَحِيمًا yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū takulū amwālakum baynakum bil‑bāṭili illā an takūna tijāratan ʿan tarāḍin minkum wa‑lā taqtulū anfusakum inna allāha kāna bikum raḥīman
O ye who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves in vanities: But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily Allah hath been to you Most Merciful!
(4:114)

In most of their secret talks there is no good: But if one exhorts to a deed of charity or justice or conciliation between men, (Secrecy is permissible): To him who does this, seeking the good pleasure of Allah, We shall soon give a reward of the highest (value).

Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)
(5:2)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوا۟  لَا  تُحِلُّوا۟  شَعَٰٓئِرَ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَلَا  ٱلشَّهْرَ  ٱلْحَرَامَ  وَلَا  ٱلْهَدْىَ  وَلَا  ٱلْقَلَٰٓئِدَ  وَلَآ  ءَآمِّينَ  ٱلْبَيْتَ  ٱلْحَرَامَ  يَبْتَغُونَ  فَضْلًا  مِّن  رَّبِّهِمْ  وَرِضْوَٰنًا  وَإِذَا  حَلَلْتُمْ  فَٱصْطَادُوا۟  وَلَا  يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ  شَنَـَٔانُ  قَوْمٍ  أَن  صَدُّوكُمْ  عَنِ  ٱلْمَسْجِدِ  ٱلْحَرَامِ  أَن  تَعْتَدُوا۟  وَتَعَاوَنُوا۟  عَلَى  ٱلْبِرِّ  وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ  وَلَا  تَعَاوَنُوا۟  عَلَى  ٱلْإِثْمِ  وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ  وَٱتَّقُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  شَدِيدُ  ٱلْعِقَابِ yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū tuḥillū shaʿāʾira allāhi wa‑lā l‑shahra l‑ḥarāma wa‑lā l‑hada wa‑lā l‑qalāʾida wa‑lā āmmīna l‑bayta l‑ḥarāma yabtaghūna faḍlan min rabbihim wa‑riḍwānan wa‑idhā ḥalaltum faṣṭādū wa‑lā yajrimannakum shanaʾānu qawmin an ṣaddūkum ʿani l‑masjidi l‑ḥarāmi an taʿtadū wa‑taʿāwanū ʿalā l‑birri wa‑l‑taqwa wa‑lā taʿāwanū ʿalā l‑ithmi wa‑l‑ʿudwāni wa‑ittaqū allāha inna allāha shadīdu l‑ʿiqābi
O ye who believe! Violate not the sanctity of the symbols of Allah, nor of the sacred month, nor of the animals brought for sacrifice, nor the garlands that mark out such animals, nor the people resorting to the sacred house, seeking of the bounty and good pleasure of their Lord. But when ye are clear of the sacred precincts and of pilgrim garb, ye may hunt and let not the hatred of some people in (once) shutting you out of the Sacred Mosque lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment.
(5:16)

يَهْدِى  بِهِ  ٱللَّـهُ  مَنِ  ٱتَّبَعَ  رِضْوَٰنَهُۥ  سُبُلَ  ٱلسَّلَٰمِ  وَيُخْرِجُهُم  مِّنَ  ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ  إِلَى  ٱلنُّورِ  بِإِذْنِهِۦ  وَيَهْدِيهِمْ  إِلَىٰ  صِرَٰطٍ  مُّسْتَقِيمٍ yahdī bihi allāhu mani ittabaʿa riḍwānahu subula l‑salāmi wa‑yukhrijuhum mina l‑ẓulumāti ilā l‑nūri bi‑idhnihi wa‑yahdīhim ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin
Wherewith Allah guideth all who seek His good pleasure to ways of peace and safety, and leadeth them out of darkness, by His will, unto the light,- guideth them to a path that is straight.

Surah 9 al-Tawbah (Repentance)
(9:21)

Their Lord doth give them glad tidings of a Mercy from Himself, of His good pleasure, and of gardens for them, wherein are delights that endure:
(9:72)

Allah hath promised to Believers, men and women, gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein, and beautiful mansions in gardens of everlasting bliss. But the greatest bliss is the good pleasure of Allah: that is the supreme felicity.
(9:109)

أَفَمَنْ  أَسَّسَ  بُنْيَٰنَهُۥ  عَلَىٰ  تَقْوَىٰ  مِنَ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَرِضْوَٰنٍ  خَيْرٌ  أَم  مَّنْ  أَسَّسَ  بُنْيَٰنَهُۥ  عَلَىٰ  شَفَا  جُرُفٍ  هَارٍ  فَٱنْهَارَ  بِهِۦ  فِى  نَارِ  جَهَنَّمَ  وَٱللَّـهُ  لَا  يَهْدِى  ٱلْقَوْمَ  ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ afaman assasa bunyānahu ʿalā taqwa mina allāhi wa‑riḍwānin khayrun am man assasa bunyānahu ʿalā shafā jurufin hārin fa‑inḥāra bihi nāri jahannama wallāhu yahdī l‑qawma l‑ẓālimīna
Which then is best? - he that layeth his foundation on piety to Allah and His good pleasure? - or he that layeth his foundation on an undermined sand-cliff ready to crumble to pieces? and it doth crumble to pieces with him, into the fire of Hell. And Allah guideth not people that do wrong.

Surah 19 Maryam (Mary)
(19:6)

"(One that) will (truly) represent me, and represent the posterity of Jacob; and make him, O my Lord! one with whom Thou art well-pleased!"
(19:55)

He used to enjoin on his people Prayer and Charity, and he was most acceptable in the sight of his Lord.

Surah 47 Muḥammad (Muhammad)
(47:28)

ذَٰلِكَ  بِأَنَّهُمُ  ٱتَّبَعُوا۟  مَآ  أَسْخَطَ  ٱللَّـهَ  وَكَرِهُوا۟  رِضْوَٰنَهُۥ  فَأَحْبَطَ  أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ dhālika bi‑anna‑humu attabaʿū askhaṭa allāha wa‑karihū riḍwānahu fa‑aḥbaṭa aʿmālahum
This because they followed that which called forth the Wrath of Allah, and they hated Allah's good pleasure; so He made their deeds of no effect.

Surah 48 al-Fatḥ (The Victory)
(48:29)

Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward.

Surah 57 al-Ḥadīd (The Iron)
(57:20)

ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟  أَنَّمَا  ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ  ٱلدُّنْيَا  لَعِبٌ  وَلَهْوٌ  وَزِينَةٌ  وَتَفَاخُرٌۢ  بَيْنَكُمْ  وَتَكَاثُرٌ  فِى  ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ  وَٱلْأَوْلَٰدِ  كَمَثَلِ  غَيْثٍ  أَعْجَبَ  ٱلْكُفَّارَ  نَبَاتُهُۥ  ثُمَّ  يَهِيجُ  فَتَرَىٰهُ  مُصْفَرًّا  ثُمَّ  يَكُونُ  حُطَٰمًا  وَفِى  ٱلْأَخِرَةِ  عَذَابٌ  شَدِيدٌ  وَمَغْفِرَةٌ  مِّنَ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَرِضْوَٰنٌ  وَمَا  ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ  ٱلدُّنْيَآ  إِلَّا  مَتَٰعُ  ٱلْغُرُورِ aʿlamū annamā l‑ḥayātu l‑dunyā laʿibun wa‑lahwun wa‑zīnatun wa‑tafākhurun baynakum wa‑takāthurun l‑amwāli wa‑l‑awlādi ka‑mathali ghaythin aʿjaba l‑kuffāra nabātuhu thumma yahīju fa‑tarahu muṣfarran thumma yakūnu ḥuṭāman wa‑fī l‑akhirati ʿadhābun shadīdun wa‑maghfiratun mina allāhi wa‑riḍwānun wa‑mā l‑ḥayātu l‑dunyā illā matāʿu l‑ghurūri
Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: How rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception?
(57:27)

ثُمَّ  قَفَّيْنَا  عَلَىٰٓ  ءَاثَٰرِهِم  بِرُسُلِنَا  وَقَفَّيْنَا  بِعِيسَى  ٱبْنِ  مَرْيَمَ  وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ  ٱلْإِنجِيلَ  وَجَعَلْنَا  فِى  قُلُوبِ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ٱتَّبَعُوهُ  رَأْفَةً  وَرَحْمَةً  وَرَهْبَانِيَّةً  ٱبْتَدَعُوهَا  مَا  كَتَبْنَٰهَا  عَلَيْهِمْ  إِلَّا  ٱبْتِغَآءَ  رِضْوَٰنِ  ٱللَّـهِ  فَمَا  رَعَوْهَا  حَقَّ  رِعَايَتِهَا  فَـَٔاتَيْنَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوا۟  مِنْهُمْ  أَجْرَهُمْ  وَكَثِيرٌ  مِّنْهُمْ  فَٰسِقُونَ thumma qaffaynā ʿala āthārihim bi‑rusulinā wa‑qaffaynā biʿīsa ibni maryama wa‑ātaynāhu l‑injīla wa‑jaʿalnā qulūbi lladhīna ittabaʿūhu rafatan wa‑raḥmatan wa‑rahbāniyyatan btadaʿūhā katabnāhā ʿalayhim illā ibtighāʾa riḍwāni allāhi fa‑mā raʿawhā ḥaqqa riʿāyatihā faātaynā lladhīna āmanū minhum ajrahum wa‑kathīrun minhum fāsiqūna
Then, in their wake, We followed them up with (others of) Our messengers: We sent after them Jesus the son of Mary, and bestowed on him the Gospel; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him Compassion and Mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them: (We commanded) only the seeking for the Good Pleasure of Allah; but that they did not foster as they should have done. Yet We bestowed, on those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are rebellious transgressors.

Surah 59 al-Ḥashr (The Exile)
(59:8)

لِلْفُقَرَآءِ  ٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  أُخْرِجُوا۟  مِن  دِيَٰرِهِمْ  وَأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ  يَبْتَغُونَ  فَضْلًا  مِّنَ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَرِضْوَٰنًا  وَيَنصُرُونَ  ٱللَّـهَ  وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ  هُمُ  ٱلصَّٰدِقُونَ lil‑fuqarāʾi l‑muhājirīna lladhīna ukhrijū min diyārihim wa‑amwālihim yabtaghūna faḍlan mina allāhi wa‑riḍwānan wa‑yanṣurūna allāha wa‑rasūlahu ulāʾika humu l‑ṣādiqūna
(Some part is due) to the indigent Muhajirs, those who were expelled from their homes and their property, while seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure, and aiding Allah and His Messenger: such are indeed the sincere ones:-

Surah 60 al-Mumtaḥanah (She Who is Tested)
(60:1)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوا۟  لَا  تَتَّخِذُوا۟  عَدُوِّى  وَعَدُوَّكُمْ  أَوْلِيَآءَ  تُلْقُونَ  إِلَيْهِم  بِٱلْمَوَدَّةِ  وَقَدْ  كَفَرُوا۟  بِمَا  جَآءَكُم  مِّنَ  ٱلْحَقِّ  يُخْرِجُونَ  ٱلرَّسُولَ  وَإِيَّاكُمْ  أَن  تُؤْمِنُوا۟  بِٱللَّـهِ  رَبِّكُمْ  إِن  كُنتُمْ  خَرَجْتُمْ  جِهَٰدًا  فِى  سَبِيلِى  وَٱبْتِغَآءَ  مَرْضَاتِى  تُسِرُّونَ  إِلَيْهِم  بِٱلْمَوَدَّةِ  وَأَنَا۠  أَعْلَمُ  بِمَآ  أَخْفَيْتُمْ  وَمَآ  أَعْلَنتُمْ  وَمَن  يَفْعَلْهُ  مِنكُمْ  فَقَدْ  ضَلَّ  سَوَآءَ  ٱلسَّبِيلِ yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū tattakhidhū ʿaduwwī wa‑ʿaduwwakum awliyāʾa tulqūna ilayhim bil‑mawaddati wa‑qad kafarū bi‑mā jāʾakum mina l‑ḥaqqi yukhrijūna l‑rasūla wa‑iyyākum an tūʾminū billāhi rabbikum in kuntum kharajtum jihādan sabīlī wa‑ibtighāʾa marḍātī tusirrūna ilayhim bil‑mawaddati wa‑anā aʿlamu bimā akhfaytum wa‑mā aʿlantum wa‑man yafʿalhu minkum fa‑qad ḍalla sawāʾa l‑sabīli
O ye who believe! Take not my enemies and yours as friends (or protectors),- offering them (your) love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have (on the contrary) driven out the Prophet and yourselves (from your homes), (simply) because ye believe in Allah your Lord! If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path.

Surah 66 al-Taḥrīm (The Prohibition)
(66:1)

O Prophet! Why holdest thou to be forbidden that which Allah has made lawful to thee? Thou seekest to please thy consorts. But Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Surah 88 al-Ghāshiyah (The Overwhelming Calamity)
(88:9)

لِّسَعْيِهَا  رَاضِيَةٌ li‑saʿyihā rāḍiyatun
Pleased with their striving,-

Surah 89 al-Fajr (The Dawn)
(89:28)

"Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him!
