(2:108) | أَمْ تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ رَسُولَكُمْ كَمَا سُئِلَ مُوسَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ وَمَن يَتَبَدَّلِ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ | am turīdūna an tasʾalū rasūlakum ka‑mā suʾila mūsā min qablu wa‑man yatabaddali l‑kufra bi‑l‑īmāni fa‑qad ḍalla sawāʾa l‑sabīli | Would ye question your Messenger as Moses was questioned of old?
but whoever changeth from Faith to Unbelief, Hath strayed without doubt
from the even way.

(2:177) | لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ | laysa l‑birra an tuwallū wujūhakum qibala l‑mashriqi wa‑l‑maghribi wa‑lākinna l‑birra man āmana billāhi wa‑l‑yawmi l‑akhiri wa‑l‑malāʾikati wa‑l‑kitābi wa‑l‑nabīyina wa‑ātā l‑māla ʿalā ḥubbihi dhawī l‑qurbā wa‑l‑yatāmā wa‑l‑masākīna wa‑ibna l‑sabīli wa‑l‑sāʾilīna wa‑fī l‑riqābi wa‑aqāma l‑ṣalāta wa‑ātā l‑zakāta wa‑l‑mūfūna bi‑ʿahdihim idhā ʿāhadū wa‑l‑ṣābirīna fī l‑baʾsāʾi wa‑l‑ḍarrāʾi wa‑ḥīna l‑basi ulāʾika lladhīna ṣadaqū wa‑ūlāʾika humu l‑muttaqūna | It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east
or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and
the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance,
out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the
wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast
in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye
have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and
adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of
truth, the Allah-fearing.
Sura al-Baqara 2:177 لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ laysa l-birra an tuwallū wujūhakum qibala l-mashriqi wa-l-maghribi wa-lākinna l-birra man āmana billāhi wa-l-yawmi l-akhiri wa-l-malāʾikati wa-l-kitābi wa-l-nabīyina wa-ātā l-māla ʿalā ḥubbihi dhawī l-qurbā wa-l-yatāmā wa-l-masākīna wa-ibna l-sabīli wa-l-sāʾilīna wa-fī l-riqābi wa-aqāma l-ṣalāta wa-ātā l-zakāta wa-l-mūfūna bi-ʿahdihim idhā ʿāhadū wa-l-ṣābirīna fī l-baʾsāʾi wa-l-ḍarrāʾi wa-ḥīna l-basi ulāʾika lladhīna ṣadaqū wa-ūlāʾika humu l-muttaqūna It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. (2:186) | وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِى وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ | wa‑idhā saʾalaka ʿibādī ʿannī fa‑innī qarībun ujību daʿwata l‑dāʿi idhā daʿāni fa‑l‑yastajībū lī wa‑l‑yuʾminū bī la‑ʿallahum yarshudūna | When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to
them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let
them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may
walk in the right way.
Sura al-Baqara 2:186 وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِى وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ wa-idhā saʾalaka ʿibādī ʿannī fa-innī qarībun ujību daʿwata l-dāʿi idhā daʿāni fa-l-yastajībū lī wa-l-yuʾminū bī la-ʿallahum yarshudūna When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way. |
(2:189) | يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْأَهِلَّةِ قُلْ هِىَ مَوَٰقِيتُ لِلنَّاسِ وَٱلْحَجِّ وَلَيْسَ ٱلْبِرُّ بِأَن تَأْتُوا۟ ٱلْبُيُوتَ مِن ظُهُورِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَأْتُوا۟ ٱلْبُيُوتَ مِنْ أَبْوَٰبِهَا وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ | yasʾalūnaka ʿani l‑ahillati qul hiya mawāqītu lil‑nāsi wa‑l‑ḥajji walaysa l‑birru bi‑an taʾtū l‑buyūta min ẓuhūrihā wa‑lākinna l‑birra mani ittaqā wa‑ʾtū l‑buyūta min abwābihā wa‑ittaqū allāha la‑ʿallakum tufliḥūna | They ask thee concerning the New Moons. Say: They are but
signs to mark fixed periods of time in (the affairs of) men, and for
Pilgrimage. It is no virtue if ye enter your houses from the back: It is
virtue if ye fear Allah. Enter houses through the proper doors: And fear Allah:
That ye may prosper.
Sura al-Baqara 2:189 يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْأَهِلَّةِ قُلْ هِىَ مَوَٰقِيتُ لِلنَّاسِ وَٱلْحَجِّ وَلَيْسَ ٱلْبِرُّ بِأَن تَأْتُوا۟ ٱلْبُيُوتَ مِن ظُهُورِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَأْتُوا۟ ٱلْبُيُوتَ مِنْ أَبْوَٰبِهَا وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ yasʾalūnaka ʿani l-ahillati qul hiya mawāqītu lil-nāsi wa-l-ḥajji walaysa l-birru bi-an taʾtū l-buyūta min ẓuhūrihā wa-lākinna l-birra mani ittaqā wa-ʾtū l-buyūta min abwābihā wa-ittaqū allāha la-ʿallakum tufliḥūna They ask thee concerning the New Moons. (2:211) | سَلْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ كَمْ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍۭ بَيِّنَةٍ وَمَن يُبَدِّلْ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّـهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ | sal banī isrāʾīla kam ātaynāhum min āyatin bayyinatin wa‑man yubaddil niʿmata allāhi min baʿdi mā jāʾathu fa‑inna allāha shadīdu l‑ʿiqābi | Ask the Children of Israel how many clear (Signs) We have sent
them. But if any one, after Allah's favour has come to him, substitutes
(something else), Allah is strict in punishment.
Sura al-Baqara 2:211 سَلْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ كَمْ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍۭ بَيِّنَةٍ وَمَن يُبَدِّلْ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّـهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ sal banī isrāʾīla kam ātaynāhum min āyatin bayyinatin wa-man yubaddil niʿmata allāhi min baʿdi mā jāʾathu fa-inna allāha shadīdu l-ʿiqābi Ask the Children of Israel how many clear (Signs) We have sent them. But if any one, after Allah's favour has come to him, substitutes (something else), Allah is strict in punishment. |
(2:215) | يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَ قُلْ مَآ أَنفَقْتُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ فَلِلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمَا تَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ | yasʾalūnaka mādhā yunfiqūna qul mā anfaqtum min khayrin fa‑lil‑wālidayni wa‑l‑aqrabīna wa‑l‑yatāmā wa‑l‑masākīni wa‑ibni l‑sabīli wa‑mā tafʿalū min khayrin fa‑inna allāha bihi ʿalīmun | They ask thee what they should spend (In charity). Say:
Whatever ye spend that is good, is for parents and kindred and orphans and
those in want and for wayfarers. And whatever ye do that is good, -Allah
knoweth it well.
Sura al-Baqara 2:215 يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَ قُلْ مَآ أَنفَقْتُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ فَلِلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمَا تَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ yasʾalūnaka mādhā yunfiqūna qul mā anfaqtum min khayrin fa-lil-wālidayni wa-l-aqrabīna wa-l-yatāmā wa-l-masākīni wa-ibni l-sabīli wa-mā tafʿalū min khayrin fa-inna allāha bihi ʿalīmun They ask thee what they should spend (In charity). (2:217) | يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلْحَرَامِ قِتَالٍ فِيهِ قُلْ قِتَالٌ فِيهِ كَبِيرٌ وَصَدٌّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَكُفْرٌۢ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَإِخْرَاجُ أَهْلِهِۦ مِنْهُ أَكْبَرُ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْفِتْنَةُ أَكْبَرُ مِنَ ٱلْقَتْلِ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَن دِينِكُمْ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ وَمَن يَرْتَدِدْ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِۦ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ | yasʾalūnaka ʿani l‑shahri l‑ḥarāmi qitālin fīhi qul qitālun fīhi kabīrun waṣaddun ʿan sabīli allāhi wa‑kufrun bihi wa‑l‑masjidi l‑ḥarāmi waikhrāju ahlihi minhu akbaru ʿinda allāhi wa‑l‑fitnatu akbaru mina l‑qatli wa‑lā yazālūna yuqātilūnakum ḥattā yaruddūkum ʿan dīnikum ini istaṭāʿū wa‑man yartadid minkum ʿan dīnihi fa‑yamut wa‑huwa kāfirun fa‑ūlāʾika ḥabiṭat aʿmāluhum fī l‑dunyā wa‑l‑akhirati wa‑ūlāʾika aṣḥābu l‑nāri hum fīhā khālidūna | They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month.
Say: "Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight
of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access
to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its members." Tumult and oppression are
worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you
back from your faith if they can. And if any of you Turn back from their
faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and
in the Hereafter; they will be companions of the Fire and will abide
therein.
Sura al-Baqara 2:217 يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلْحَرَامِ قِتَالٍ فِيهِ قُلْ قِتَالٌ فِيهِ كَبِيرٌ وَصَدٌّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَكُفْرٌۢ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَإِخْرَاجُ أَهْلِهِۦ مِنْهُ أَكْبَرُ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْفِتْنَةُ أَكْبَرُ مِنَ ٱلْقَتْلِ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَن دِينِكُمْ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ وَمَن يَرْتَدِدْ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِۦ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ yasʾalūnaka ʿani l-shahri l-ḥarāmi qitālin fīhi qul qitālun fīhi kabīrun waṣaddun ʿan sabīli allāhi wa-kufrun bihi wa-l-masjidi l-ḥarāmi waikhrāju ahlihi minhu akbaru ʿinda allāhi wa-l-fitnatu akbaru mina l-qatli wa-lā yazālūna yuqātilūnakum ḥattā yaruddūkum ʿan dīnikum ini istaṭāʿū wa-man yartadid minkum ʿan dīnihi fa-yamut wa-huwa kāfirun fa-ūlāʾika ḥabiṭat aʿmāluhum fī l-dunyā wa-l-akhirati wa-ūlāʾika aṣḥābu l-nāri hum fīhā khālidūna They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: "Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its members." Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. (2:219) | يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْخَمْرِ وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ قُلْ فِيهِمَآ إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثْمُهُمَآ أَكْبَرُ مِن نَّفْعِهِمَا وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَ قُلِ ٱلْعَفْوَ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّـهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ | yasʾalūnaka ʿani l‑khamri wa‑l‑maysiri qul fīhimā ithmun kabīrun wa‑manāfiʿu lil‑nāsi wa‑ithmuhumā akbaru min nnafʿihimā wa‑yasʾalūnaka mādhā yunfiqūna quli l‑ʿafwa ka‑dhālika yubayyinu allāhu lakumu l‑ayāti la‑ʿallakum tatafakkarūna | They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is
great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the
profit." They ask thee how much they are to spend; Say: "What is beyond
your needs." Thus doth Allah Make clear to you His Signs: In order that ye
may consider-
Sura al-Baqara 2:219 يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْخَمْرِ وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ قُلْ فِيهِمَآ إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثْمُهُمَآ أَكْبَرُ مِن نَّفْعِهِمَا وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَ قُلِ ٱلْعَفْوَ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّـهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ yasʾalūnaka ʿani l-khamri wa-l-maysiri qul fīhimā ithmun kabīrun wa-manāfiʿu lil-nāsi wa-ithmuhumā akbaru min nnafʿihimā wa-yasʾalūnaka mādhā yunfiqūna quli l-ʿafwa ka-dhālika yubayyinu allāhu lakumu l-ayāti la-ʿallakum tatafakkarūna They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit." They ask thee how much they are to spend; Say: "What is beyond your needs." Thus doth Allah Make clear to you His Signs: In order that ye may consider- |
(2:220) | فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ قُلْ إِصْلَاحٌ لَّهُمْ خَيْرٌ وَإِن تُخَالِطُوهُمْ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْمُفْسِدَ مِنَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَأَعْنَتَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ | fī l‑dunyā wa‑l‑akhirati wa‑yasʾalūnaka ʿani l‑yatāmā qul iṣlāḥun lahum khayrun wa‑in tukhāliṭūhum fa‑ikhwānukum wallāhu yaʿlamu l‑mufsida mina l‑muṣliḥi wa‑law shāʾa allāhu la‑aʿnatakum inna allāha ʿazīzun ḥakīmun | (Their bearings) on this life and the Hereafter. They ask thee
concerning orphans. Say: "The best thing to do is what is for their good;
if ye mix their affairs with yours, they are your brethren; but Allah knows
the man who means mischief from the man who means good. And if Allah had
wished, He could have put you into difficulties: He is indeed Exalted in
Power, Wise."
Sura al-Baqara 2:220 فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ قُلْ إِصْلَاحٌ لَّهُمْ خَيْرٌ وَإِن تُخَالِطُوهُمْ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْمُفْسِدَ مِنَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَأَعْنَتَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ fī l-dunyā wa-l-akhirati wa-yasʾalūnaka ʿani l-yatāmā qul iṣlāḥun lahum khayrun wa-in tukhāliṭūhum fa-ikhwānukum wallāhu yaʿlamu l-mufsida mina l-muṣliḥi wa-law shāʾa allāhu la-aʿnatakum inna allāha ʿazīzun ḥakīmun (Their bearings) on this life and the Hereafter. They ask thee concerning orphans. Say: "The best thing to do is what is for their good; if ye mix their affairs with yours, they are your brethren; but Allah knows the man who means mischief from the man who means good. And if Allah had wished, He could have put you into difficulties: He is indeed Exalted in Power, Wise." |
(2:222) | وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى فَٱعْتَزِلُوا۟ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فِى ٱلْمَحِيضِ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّىٰ يَطْهُرْنَ فَإِذَا تَطَهَّرْنَ فَأْتُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلتَّوَّٰبِينَ وَيُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ | wa‑yasʾalūnaka ʿani l‑maḥīḍi qul huwa adhan faʿtazilū l‑nisāʾa fī l‑maḥīḍi wa‑lā taqrabūhunna ḥattā yaṭhurna fa‑idhā taṭahharna fatūhunna min ḥaythu amarakumu allāhu inna allāha yuḥibbu l‑tawwābīna wa‑yuḥibbu l‑mutaṭahhirīna | They ask thee concerning women's courses. Say: They are a hurt
and a pollution: So keep away from women in their courses, and do not
approach them until they are clean. But when they have purified themselves,
ye may approach them in any manner, time, or place ordained for you by Allah.
For Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep
themselves pure and clean.
Sura al-Baqara 2:222 وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى فَٱعْتَزِلُوا۟ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فِى ٱلْمَحِيضِ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّىٰ يَطْهُرْنَ فَإِذَا تَطَهَّرْنَ فَأْتُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلتَّوَّٰبِينَ وَيُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ wa-yasʾalūnaka ʿani l-maḥīḍi qul huwa adhan faʿtazilū l-nisāʾa fī l-maḥīḍi wa-lā taqrabūhunna ḥattā yaṭhurna fa-idhā taṭahharna fatūhunna min ḥaythu amarakumu allāhu inna allāha yuḥibbu l-tawwābīna wa-yuḥibbu l-mutaṭahhirīna They ask thee concerning women's courses. Say: They are a hurt and a pollution: So keep away from women in their courses, and do not approach them until they are clean. But when they have purified themselves, ye may approach them in any manner, time, or place ordained for you by Allah. (2:273) | لِلْفُقَرَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُحْصِرُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ضَرْبًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَحْسَبُهُمُ ٱلْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَآءَ مِنَ ٱلتَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُهُم بِسِيمَٰهُمْ لَا يَسْـَٔلُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ | lil‑fuqarāʾi lladhīna uḥṣirū fī sabīli allāhi lā yastaṭīʿūna ḍarban fī l‑arḍi yaḥsabuhumu l‑jāhilu aghniyāʾa mina l‑taʿaffufi taʿrifuhum bi‑sīmāhum lā yasʾalūna l‑nāsa ilḥāfan wa‑mā tunfiqū min khayrin fa‑inna allāha bihi ʿalīmun | (Charity is) for those in need, who, in Allah's cause are
restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For
trade or work): the ignorant man thinks, because of their modesty, that
they are free from want. Thou shalt know them by their (Unfailing) mark:
They beg not importunately from all the sundry. And whatever of good ye
give, be assured Allah knoweth it well.
Sura al-Baqara 2:273 لِلْفُقَرَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُحْصِرُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ضَرْبًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَحْسَبُهُمُ ٱلْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَآءَ مِنَ ٱلتَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُهُم بِسِيمَٰهُمْ لَا يَسْـَٔلُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ lil-fuqarāʾi lladhīna uḥṣirū fī sabīli allāhi lā yastaṭīʿūna ḍarban fī l-arḍi yaḥsabuhumu l-jāhilu aghniyāʾa mina l-taʿaffufi taʿrifuhum bi-sīmāhum lā yasʾalūna l-nāsa ilḥāfan wa-mā tunfiqū min khayrin fa-inna allāha bihi ʿalīmun (Charity is) for those in need, who, in Allah's cause are restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For trade or work): the ignorant man thinks, because of their modesty, that they are free from want. (4:1) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا وَنِسَآءً وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ ٱلَّذِى تَسَآءَلُونَ بِهِۦ وَٱلْأَرْحَامَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا | yā‑ayyuhā l‑nāsu ittaqū rabbakumu alladhī khalaqakum min nafsin wāḥidatin wa‑khalaqa minhā zawjahā wa‑baththa minhumā rijālan kathīran wa‑nisāan wa‑ittaqū allāha alladhī tasāalūna bihi wa‑l‑arḥāma inna allāha kāna ʿalaykum raqīban | O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from
a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain
scattered (like seeds) countless men and women;- reverence Allah, through
whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (That bore
you): for Allah ever watches over you.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:1 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا وَنِسَآءً وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ ٱلَّذِى تَسَآءَلُونَ بِهِۦ وَٱلْأَرْحَامَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا yā-ayyuhā l-nāsu ittaqū rabbakumu alladhī khalaqakum min nafsin wāḥidatin wa-khalaqa minhā zawjahā wa-baththa minhumā rijālan kathīran wa-nisāan wa-ittaqū allāha alladhī tasāalūna bihi wa-l-arḥāma inna allāha kāna ʿalaykum raqīban O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women;- reverence Allah, through whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (That bore you): for Allah ever watches over you. |
(4:32) | وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا۟ مَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهِۦ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا ٱكْتَسَبُوا۟ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا ٱكْتَسَبْنَ وَسْـَٔلُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ مِن فَضْلِهِۦٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًا | wa‑lā tatamannaw mā faḍḍala allāhu bihi baʿḍakum ʿalā baʿḍin lil‑rijāli naṣībun mimmā iktasabū wa‑lil‑nisāʾi naṣībun mimmā iktasabna wa‑sʾalū allāha min faḍlihi inna allāha kāna bi‑kulli shayʾin ʿalīman | And in no wise covet those things in which Allah Hath bestowed
His gifts More freely on some of you than on others: To men is allotted
what they earn, and to women what they earn: But ask Allah of His bounty. For
Allah hath full knowledge of all things.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:32 وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا۟ مَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهِۦ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا ٱكْتَسَبُوا۟ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا ٱكْتَسَبْنَ وَسْـَٔلُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ مِن فَضْلِهِۦٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًا wa-lā tatamannaw mā faḍḍala allāhu bihi baʿḍakum ʿalā baʿḍin lil-rijāli naṣībun mimmā iktasabū wa-lil-nisāʾi naṣībun mimmā iktasabna wa-sʾalū allāha min faḍlihi inna allāha kāna bi-kulli shayʾin ʿalīman And in no wise covet those things in which Allah Hath bestowed His gifts More freely on some of you than on others: To men is allotted what they earn, and to women what they earn: But ask Allah of His bounty. For Allah hath full knowledge of all things. |
(4:153) | يَسْـَٔلُكَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَٰبًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَقَدْ سَأَلُوا۟ مُوسَىٰٓ أَكْبَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَرِنَا ٱللَّـهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَٰلِكَ وَءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ سُلْطَٰنًا مُّبِينًا | yasʾaluka ahlu l‑kitābi an tunazzila ʿalayhim kitāban mina l‑samāʾi fa‑qad sāʾalū mūsā akbara min dhālika fa‑qālū arinā allāha jahratan fa‑akhadhathumu l‑ṣāʿiqatu bi‑ẓulmihim thumma ittakhadhū l‑ʿijla min baʿdi mā jāʾathumu l‑bayyinātu fa‑ʿafawnā ʿan dhālika wa‑ātaynā mūsā sulṭānan mubīnan | The people of the Book ask thee to cause a book to descend to
them from heaven: Indeed they asked Moses for an even greater (miracle),
for they said: "Show us Allah in public," but they were dazed for their
presumption, with thunder and lightning. Yet they worshipped the calf even
after clear signs had come to them; even so we forgave them; and gave Moses
manifest proofs of authority.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:153 يَسْـَٔلُكَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَٰبًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَقَدْ سَأَلُوا۟ مُوسَىٰٓ أَكْبَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَرِنَا ٱللَّـهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَٰلِكَ وَءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ سُلْطَٰنًا مُّبِينًا yasʾaluka ahlu l-kitābi an tunazzila ʿalayhim kitāban mina l-samāʾi fa-qad sāʾalū mūsā akbara min dhālika fa-qālū arinā allāha jahratan fa-akhadhathumu l-ṣāʿiqatu bi-ẓulmihim thumma ittakhadhū l-ʿijla min baʿdi mā jāʾathumu l-bayyinātu fa-ʿafawnā ʿan dhālika wa-ātaynā mūsā sulṭānan mubīnan The people of the Book ask thee to cause a book to descend to them from heaven: Indeed they asked Moses for an even greater (miracle), for they said: "Show us Allah in public," but they were dazed for their presumption, with thunder and lightning. (5:4) | يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَآ أُحِلَّ لَهُمْ قُلْ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ وَمَا عَلَّمْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَوَارِحِ مُكَلِّبِينَ تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ مِمَّا عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّآ أَمْسَكْنَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ | yasʾalūnaka mādhā uḥilla lahum qul uḥilla lakumu l‑ṭayyibātu wa‑mā ʿallamtum mina l‑jawāriḥi mukallibīna tuʿallimūnahunna mimmā ʿallamakumu allāhu fa‑kulū mimmā amsakna ʿalaykum wa‑idhkurū isma allāhi ʿalayhi wa‑ittaqū allāha inna allāha sarīʿu l‑ḥisābi | They ask thee what is lawful to them (as food). Say: lawful
unto you are (all) things good and pure: and what ye have taught your
trained hunting animals (to catch) in the manner directed to you by Allah:
eat what they catch for you, but pronounce the name of Allah over it: and
fear Allah; for Allah is swift in taking account.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:4 يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَآ أُحِلَّ لَهُمْ قُلْ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ وَمَا عَلَّمْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَوَارِحِ مُكَلِّبِينَ تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ مِمَّا عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّآ أَمْسَكْنَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ yasʾalūnaka mādhā uḥilla lahum qul uḥilla lakumu l-ṭayyibātu wa-mā ʿallamtum mina l-jawāriḥi mukallibīna tuʿallimūnahunna mimmā ʿallamakumu allāhu fa-kulū mimmā amsakna ʿalaykum wa-idhkurū isma allāhi ʿalayhi wa-ittaqū allāha inna allāha sarīʿu l-ḥisābi They ask thee what is lawful to them (as food). Say: lawful unto you are (all) things good and pure: and what ye have taught your trained hunting animals (to catch) in the manner directed to you by Allah: eat what they catch for you, but pronounce the name of Allah over it: and fear Allah; for Allah is swift in taking account. |
(5:101) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْ أَشْيَآءَ إِن تُبْدَ لَكُمْ تَسُؤْكُمْ وَإِن تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْهَا حِينَ يُنَزَّلُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ عَفَا ٱللَّـهُ عَنْهَا وَٱللَّـهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā tasʾalū ʿan ashyāʾa in tubda la‑kum tasukum wa‑in tasʾalū ʿanhā ḥīna yunazzalu l‑qurʾānu tubda la‑kum ʿafā allāhu ʿanhā wallāhu ghafūrun ḥalīmun | O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which, if
made plain to you, may cause you trouble. But if ye ask about things when
the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be made plain to you, Allah will
forgive those: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Forbearing.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:101 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْ أَشْيَآءَ إِن تُبْدَ لَكُمْ تَسُؤْكُمْ وَإِن تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْهَا حِينَ يُنَزَّلُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ عَفَا ٱللَّـهُ عَنْهَا وَٱللَّـهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā tasʾalū ʿan ashyāʾa in tubda la-kum tasukum wa-in tasʾalū ʿanhā ḥīna yunazzalu l-qurʾānu tubda la-kum ʿafā allāhu ʿanhā wallāhu ghafūrun ḥalīmun O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. But if ye ask about things when the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be made plain to you, Allah will forgive those: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Forbearing. |
(6:90) | أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّـهُ فَبِهُدَىٰهُمُ ٱقْتَدِهْ قُل لَّآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَٰلَمِينَ | ulāʾika lladhīna hadā allāhu fa‑bi‑hudāhumu iqtadih qul lā asʾalukum ʿalayhi ajran in huwa illā dhikra lil‑ʿālamīna | Those were the (prophets) who received Allah's guidance: Copy
the guidance they received; Say: "No reward for this do I ask of you: This
is no less than a message for the nations."
Sura al-Anʿām 6:90 أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّـهُ فَبِهُدَىٰهُمُ ٱقْتَدِهْ قُل لَّآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَٰلَمِينَ ulāʾika lladhīna hadā allāhu fa-bi-hudāhumu iqtadih qul lā asʾalukum ʿalayhi ajran in huwa illā dhikra lil-ʿālamīna Those were the (prophets) who received Allah's guidance: Copy the guidance they received; Say: "No reward for this do I ask of you: This is no less than a message for the nations." |
(7:163) | وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ ٱلْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ | wa‑sʾalhum ʿani l‑qaryati allatī kānat ḥāḍirata l‑baḥri idh yaʿdūna fī l‑sabti idh taʾtīhim ḥītānuhum yawma sabtihim shurraʿan wa‑yawma lā yasbitūna lā taʾtīhim ka‑dhālika nablūhum bi‑mā kānū yafsuqūna | Ask them concerning the town standing close by the sea.
Behold! they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. For on the day of
their Sabbath their fish did come to them, openly holding up their heads,
but on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not: thus did We make a trial
of them, for they were given to transgression.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:163 وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ ٱلْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ wa-sʾalhum ʿani l-qaryati allatī kānat ḥāḍirata l-baḥri idh yaʿdūna fī l-sabti idh taʾtīhim ḥītānuhum yawma sabtihim shurraʿan wa-yawma lā yasbitūna lā taʾtīhim ka-dhālika nablūhum bi-mā kānū yafsuqūna Ask them concerning the town standing close by the sea. (7:187) | يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّى لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَآ إِلَّا هُوَ ثَقُلَتْ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَا تَأْتِيكُمْ إِلَّا بَغْتَةً يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِىٌّ عَنْهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ | yasʾalūnaka ʿani l‑sāʿati ayyāna mursahā qul innamā ʿilmuhā ʿinda rabbī lā yujallīhā li‑waqtihā illā huwa thaqulat fī l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi lā taʾtīkum illā baghtatan yasʾalūnaka ka‑annaka ḥafiyyun ʿanhā qul innamā ʿilmuhā ʿinda allāhi wa‑lākinna akthara l‑nāsi lā yaʿlamūna | They ask thee about the (final) Hour - when will be its
appointed time? Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): None
but He can reveal as to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden through
the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They
ask thee as if thou Wert eager in search thereof: Say: "The knowledge
thereof is with Allah (alone), but most men know not."

(8:1) | يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْأَنفَالِ قُلِ ٱلْأَنفَالُ لِلَّـهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا۟ ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ | yasʾalūnaka ʿani l‑anfāli quli l‑anfālu lillāhi wa‑l‑rasūli fa‑ittaqū allāha wa‑aṣliḥū dhāta baynikum wa‑aṭīʿū allāha wa‑rasūlahu in kuntum muʾminīna | They ask thee concerning (things taken as) spoils of war. Say:
"(such) spoils are at the disposal of Allah and the Messenger: So fear Allah, and
keep straight the relations between yourselves: Obey Allah and His Messenger,
if ye do believe."
Sura al-Anfāl 8:1 يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْأَنفَالِ قُلِ ٱلْأَنفَالُ لِلَّـهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا۟ ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ yasʾalūnaka ʿani l-anfāli quli l-anfālu lillāhi wa-l-rasūli fa-ittaqū allāha wa-aṣliḥū dhāta baynikum wa-aṭīʿū allāha wa-rasūlahu in kuntum muʾminīna They ask thee concerning (things taken as) spoils of war. Say: "(such) spoils are at the disposal of Allah and the Messenger: So fear Allah, and keep straight the relations between yourselves: Obey Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe." |
(9:65) | وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُ قُلْ أَبِٱللَّهِ وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَرَسُولِهِۦ كُنتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِءُونَ | wa‑laʾin saʾaltahum la‑yaqūlunna innamā kunnā nakhūḍu wa‑nalʿabu qul a‑billahi wa‑āyātihi wa‑rasūlihi kuntum tastahziʾūna | If thou dost question them, they declare (with emphasis): "We
were only talking idly and in play." Say: "Was it at Allah, and His Signs,
and His Messenger, that ye were mocking?"
Sura al-Tawbah 9:65 وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُ قُلْ أَبِٱللَّهِ وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَرَسُولِهِۦ كُنتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِءُونَ wa-laʾin saʾaltahum la-yaqūlunna innamā kunnā nakhūḍu wa-nalʿabu qul a-billahi wa-āyātihi wa-rasūlihi kuntum tastahziʾūna If thou dost question them, they declare (with emphasis): "We were only talking idly and in play." Say: "Was it at Allah, and His Signs, and His Messenger, that ye were mocking?" |
(10:94) | فَإِن كُنتَ فِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّآ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقْرَءُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكَ لَقَدْ جَآءَكَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ | fa‑in kunta fī shakkin mimmā anzalnā ilayka fa‑sʾali lladhīna yaqraʾūna l‑kitāba min qablika la‑qad jāʾaka l‑ḥaqqu min rabbika fa‑lā takūnanna mina l‑mumtarīna | If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee,
then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth
hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in
doubt.
Sura Yūnus 10:94 فَإِن كُنتَ فِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّآ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقْرَءُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكَ لَقَدْ جَآءَكَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ fa-in kunta fī shakkin mimmā anzalnā ilayka fa-sʾali lladhīna yaqraʾūna l-kitāba min qablika la-qad jāʾaka l-ḥaqqu min rabbika fa-lā takūnanna mina l-mumtarīna If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt. |
(11:29) | وَيَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًا إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَٰكِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ | wa‑yā‑qawmi lā asʾalukum ʿalayhi mālan in ajriya illā ʿalā allāhi wa‑mā anā bi‑ṭāridi lladhīna āmanū innahum mulāqū rabbihim wa‑lākinnī arākum qawman tajhalūna | "And O my people! I ask you for no wealth in return: my reward
is from none but Allah: But I will not drive away (in contempt) those who
believe: for verily they are to meet their Lord, and ye I see are the
ignorant ones!
Sura Hūd 11:29 وَيَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًا إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَٰكِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ wa-yā-qawmi lā asʾalukum ʿalayhi mālan in ajriya illā ʿalā allāhi wa-mā anā bi-ṭāridi lladhīna āmanū innahum mulāqū rabbihim wa-lākinnī arākum qawman tajhalūna "And O my people! I ask you for no wealth in return: my reward is from none but Allah: But I will not drive away (in contempt) those who believe: for verily they are to meet their Lord, and ye I see are the ignorant ones! |
(11:46) | قَالَ يَٰنُوحُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ إِنَّهُۥ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَٰلِحٍ فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ إِنِّىٓ أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ | qalā yānūḥu innahu laysa min ahlika innahu ʿamalun ghayru ṣāliḥin fa‑lā tasʾalni mā laysa la‑ka bihi ʿilmun innī aʿiẓuka an takūna mina l‑jāhilīna | He said: "O Noah! He is not of thy family: For his conduct is
unrighteous. So ask not of Me that of which thou hast no knowledge! I give
thee counsel, lest thou act like the ignorant!"
Sura Hūd 11:46 قَالَ يَٰنُوحُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ إِنَّهُۥ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَٰلِحٍ فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ إِنِّىٓ أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ qalā yānūḥu innahu laysa min ahlika innahu ʿamalun ghayru ṣāliḥin fa-lā tasʾalni mā laysa la-ka bihi ʿilmun innī aʿiẓuka an takūna mina l-jāhilīna He said: "O Noah! He is not of thy family: For his conduct is unrighteous. So ask not of Me that of which thou hast no knowledge! I give thee counsel, lest thou act like the ignorant!" |
(11:47) | قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْـَٔلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِى وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓ أَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ | qalā rabbi innī aʿūdhu bika an asʾalaka mā laysa lī bihi ʿilmun wa‑illā taghfir lī wa‑tarḥamnī akun mina l‑khāsirīna | Noah said: "O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask
Thee for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless thou forgive me and
have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!"
Sura Hūd 11:47 قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْـَٔلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِى وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓ أَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ qalā rabbi innī aʿūdhu bika an asʾalaka mā laysa lī bihi ʿilmun wa-illā taghfir lī wa-tarḥamnī akun mina l-khāsirīna Noah said: "O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask Thee for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless thou forgive me and have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!" |
(11:51) | يَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِىٓ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ | yā‑qawmi lā asʾalukum ʿalayhi ajran in ajriya illā ʿalā alladhī faṭaranī a‑fa‑lā taʿqilūna | "O my people! I ask of you no reward for this (Message). My
reward is from none but Him who created me: Will ye not then understand?
Sura Hūd 11:51 يَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِىٓ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ yā-qawmi lā asʾalukum ʿalayhi ajran in ajriya illā ʿalā alladhī faṭaranī a-fa-lā taʿqilūna "O my people! I ask of you no reward for this (Message). My reward is from none but Him who created me: Will ye not then understand? |
(12:7) | لَّقَدْ كَانَ فِى يُوسُفَ وَإِخْوَتِهِۦٓ ءَايَٰتٌ لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ | llaqad kāna fī yūsufa waikhwatihi āyātun lil‑sāʾilīna | Verily in Joseph and his brethren are signs (or symbols) for
seekers (after Truth).
Sura Yūsuf 12:7 لَّقَدْ كَانَ فِى يُوسُفَ وَإِخْوَتِهِۦٓ ءَايَٰتٌ لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ llaqad kāna fī yūsufa waikhwatihi āyātun lil-sāʾilīna Verily in Joseph and his brethren are signs (or symbols) for seekers (after Truth). |
(12:50) | وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱئْتُونِى بِهِۦ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُ ٱلرَّسُولُ قَالَ ٱرْجِعْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَسْـَٔلْهُ مَا بَالُ ٱلنِّسْوَةِ ٱلَّٰتِى قَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ إِنَّ رَبِّى بِكَيْدِهِنَّ عَلِيمٌ | wa‑qāla l‑maliku iʾtūnī bihi fa‑lammā jāʾahu l‑rasūlu qalā irjiʿ ilā rabbika fa‑sʾalhu mā bālu l‑niswati allātī qaṭṭaʿna aydiyahunna inna rabbī bi‑kaydihinna ʿalīmun | So the king said: "Bring ye him unto me." But when the
messenger came to him, (Joseph) said: "Go thou back to thy lord, and ask
him, 'What is the state of mind of the ladies who cut their hands'? For my
Lord is certainly well aware of their snare."
Sura Yūsuf 12:50 وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱئْتُونِى بِهِۦ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُ ٱلرَّسُولُ قَالَ ٱرْجِعْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَسْـَٔلْهُ مَا بَالُ ٱلنِّسْوَةِ ٱلَّٰتِى قَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ إِنَّ رَبِّى بِكَيْدِهِنَّ عَلِيمٌ wa-qāla l-maliku iʾtūnī bihi fa-lammā jāʾahu l-rasūlu qalā irjiʿ ilā rabbika fa-sʾalhu mā bālu l-niswati allātī qaṭṭaʿna aydiyahunna inna rabbī bi-kaydihinna ʿalīmun So the king said: "Bring ye him unto me." But when the messenger came to him, (Joseph) said: "Go thou back to thy lord, and ask him, 'What is the state of mind of the ladies who cut their hands'? For my Lord is certainly well aware of their snare." |
(12:82) | وَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْقَرْيَةَ ٱلَّتِى كُنَّا فِيهَا وَٱلْعِيرَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَقْبَلْنَا فِيهَا وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ | wa‑sʾali l‑qaryata allatī kunnā fīhā wa‑l‑ʿīra allatī aqbalnā fīhā wa‑innā la‑ṣādiqūna | "'Ask at the town where we have been and the caravan in which
we returned, and (you will find) we are indeed telling the truth.'"
Sura Yūsuf 12:82 وَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْقَرْيَةَ ٱلَّتِى كُنَّا فِيهَا وَٱلْعِيرَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَقْبَلْنَا فِيهَا وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ wa-sʾali l-qaryata allatī kunnā fīhā wa-l-ʿīra allatī aqbalnā fīhā wa-innā la-ṣādiqūna "'Ask at the town where we have been and the caravan in which we returned, and (you will find) we are indeed telling the truth.'" |
(12:104) | وَمَا تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ | wa‑mā tasʾaluhum ʿalayhi min ajrin in huwa illā dhikrun lil‑ʿālamīna | And no reward dost thou ask of them for this: it is no less
than a message for all creatures.
Sura Yūsuf 12:104 وَمَا تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ wa-mā tasʾaluhum ʿalayhi min ajrin in huwa illā dhikrun lil-ʿālamīna And no reward dost thou ask of them for this: it is no less than a message for all creatures. |
(16:43) | وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ | wa‑mā arsalnā min qablika illā rijālan nnūḥī ilayhim fa‑sʾalū ahla l‑dhikri in kuntum lā taʿlamūna | And before thee also the messengers We sent were but men, to
whom We granted inspiration: if ye realise this not, ask of those who
possess the Message.
Sura al-Naḥl 16:43 وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ wa-mā arsalnā min qablika illā rijālan nnūḥī ilayhim fa-sʾalū ahla l-dhikri in kuntum lā taʿlamūna And before thee also the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: if ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. |
(17:85) | وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلرُّوحِ قُلِ ٱلرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّى وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا | wa‑yasʾalūnaka ʿani l‑rūḥi quli l‑rūḥu min amri rabbī wa‑mā ūtītum mina l‑ʿilmi illā qalīlan | They ask thee concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say:
"The Spirit (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a
little that is communicated to you, (O men!)"
Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:85 وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلرُّوحِ قُلِ ٱلرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّى وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا wa-yasʾalūnaka ʿani l-rūḥi quli l-rūḥu min amri rabbī wa-mā ūtītum mina l-ʿilmi illā qalīlan They ask thee concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say: "The Spirit (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)" |
(17:101) | وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ تِسْعَ ءَايَٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَٰتٍ فَسْـَٔلْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِذْ جَآءَهُمْ فَقَالَ لَهُۥ فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّى لَأَظُنُّكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ مَسْحُورًا | wa‑la‑qad ātaynā mūsā tisʿa āyātin bayyinātin fa‑sʾal banī isrāʾīla idh jāʾahum fa‑qāla lahu firʿawun innī la‑aẓunnuka yā‑mūsā masḥūran | To Moses We did give Nine Clear Signs: Ask the Children of Israel: when he came to them, Pharaoh said to him: "O Moses! I consider thee, indeed, to have been worked upon by sorcery!
Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:101 وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ تِسْعَ ءَايَٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَٰتٍ فَسْـَٔلْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِذْ جَآءَهُمْ فَقَالَ لَهُۥ فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّى لَأَظُنُّكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ مَسْحُورًا wa-la-qad ātaynā mūsā tisʿa āyātin bayyinātin fa-sʾal banī isrāʾīla idh jāʾahum fa-qāla lahu firʿawun innī la-aẓunnuka yā-mūsā masḥūran To Moses We did give Nine Clear Signs: Ask the Children of Israel: when he came to them, Pharaoh said to him: "O Moses! I consider thee, indeed, to have been worked upon by sorcery! |
(18:70) | قَالَ فَإِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَنِى فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِى عَن شَىْءٍ حَتَّىٰٓ أُحْدِثَ لَكَ مِنْهُ ذِكْرًا | qalā fa‑ini ittabaʿtanī fa‑lā tasʾalnī ʿan shayʾin ḥatta uḥditha la‑ka minhu dhikran | The other said: "If then thou wouldst follow me, ask me no
questions about anything until I myself speak to thee concerning it."
Sura al-Kahf 18:70 قَالَ فَإِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَنِى فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِى عَن شَىْءٍ حَتَّىٰٓ أُحْدِثَ لَكَ مِنْهُ ذِكْرًا qalā fa-ini ittabaʿtanī fa-lā tasʾalnī ʿan shayʾin ḥatta uḥditha la-ka minhu dhikran The other said: "If then thou wouldst follow me, ask me no questions about anything until I myself speak to thee concerning it." |
(18:76) | قَالَ إِن سَأَلْتُكَ عَن شَىْءٍۭ بَعْدَهَا فَلَا تُصَٰحِبْنِى قَدْ بَلَغْتَ مِن لَّدُنِّى عُذْرًا | qalā in saʾaltuka ʿan shayʾin baʿdahā fa‑lā tuṣāḥibnī qad balaghta min lladunnī ʿudhran | (Moses) said: "If ever I ask thee about anything after this,
keep me not in thy company: then wouldst thou have received (full) excuse
from my side."
Sura al-Kahf 18:76 قَالَ إِن سَأَلْتُكَ عَن شَىْءٍۭ بَعْدَهَا فَلَا تُصَٰحِبْنِى قَدْ بَلَغْتَ مِن لَّدُنِّى عُذْرًا qalā in saʾaltuka ʿan shayʾin baʿdahā fa-lā tuṣāḥibnī qad balaghta min lladunnī ʿudhran (Moses) said: "If ever I ask thee about anything after this, keep me not in thy company: then wouldst thou have received (full) excuse from my side." |
(18:83) | وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَن ذِى ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ قُلْ سَأَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْهُ ذِكْرًا | wa‑yasʾalūnaka ʿan dhī l‑qarnayni qul saʾatlū ʿalaykum minhu dhikran | They ask thee concerning Zul-qarnain. Say, "I will rehearse to
you something of his story."
Sura al-Kahf 18:83 وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَن ذِى ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ قُلْ سَأَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْهُ ذِكْرًا wa-yasʾalūnaka ʿan dhī l-qarnayni qul saʾatlū ʿalaykum minhu dhikran They ask thee concerning Zul-qarnain. Say, "I will rehearse to you something of his story." |
(20:105) | وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْجِبَالِ فَقُلْ يَنسِفُهَا رَبِّى نَسْفًا | wa‑yasʾalūnaka ʿani l‑jibāli fa‑qul yansifuhā rabbī nasfan | They ask thee concerning the Mountains: say, "My Lord will
uproot them and scatter them as dust;
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:105 وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْجِبَالِ فَقُلْ يَنسِفُهَا رَبِّى نَسْفًا wa-yasʾalūnaka ʿani l-jibāli fa-qul yansifuhā rabbī nasfan They ask thee concerning the Mountains: say, "My Lord will uproot them and scatter them as dust; |
(20:132) | وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا لَا نَسْـَٔلُكَ رِزْقًا نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ | wa‑ʾmur ahlaka bil‑ṣalāti wa‑iṣṭabir ʿalayhā lā nasʾaluka rizqan nnaḥnu narzuquka wa‑l‑ʿāqibatu lil‑taqwā | Enjoin prayer on thy people, and be constant therein. We ask
thee not to provide sustenance: We provide it for thee. But the (fruit of)
the Hereafter is for righteousness.
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:132 وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا لَا نَسْـَٔلُكَ رِزْقًا نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ wa-ʾmur ahlaka bil-ṣalāti wa-iṣṭabir ʿalayhā lā nasʾaluka rizqan nnaḥnu narzuquka wa-l-ʿāqibatu lil-taqwā Enjoin prayer on thy people, and be constant therein. We ask thee not to provide sustenance: We provide it for thee. But the (fruit of) the Hereafter is for righteousness. |
(21:7) | وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ | wa‑mā arsalnā qablaka illā rijālan nnūḥī ilayhim fa‑sʾalū ahla l‑dhikri in kuntum lā taʿlamūna | Before thee, also, the messengers We sent were but men, to whom
We granted inspiration: If ye realise this not, ask of those who possess
the Message.
Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:7 وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ wa-mā arsalnā qablaka illā rijālan nnūḥī ilayhim fa-sʾalū ahla l-dhikri in kuntum lā taʿlamūna Before thee, also, the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: If ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. |
(21:63) | قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَسْـَٔلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ يَنطِقُونَ | qalā bal faʿalahu kabīruhum hādhā fa‑sʾalūhum in kānū yanṭiqūna | He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one!
ask them, if they can speak intelligently!"
Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:63 قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَسْـَٔلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ يَنطِقُونَ qalā bal faʿalahu kabīruhum hādhā fa-sʾalūhum in kānū yanṭiqūna He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one! ask them, if they can speak intelligently!" |
(23:72) | أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ | am tasʾaluhum kharjan fa‑kharāju rabbika khayrun wa‑huwa khayru l‑rāziqīna | Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the
recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give
sustenance.
Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:72 أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ am tasʾaluhum kharjan fa-kharāju rabbika khayrun wa-huwa khayru l-rāziqīna Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. |
(23:113) | قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ | qālū labithnā yawman aw baʿḍa yawmin fa‑sʾali l‑ʿāddīna | They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask
those who keep account."
Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:113 قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ qālū labithnā yawman aw baʿḍa yawmin fa-sʾali l-ʿāddīna They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask those who keep account." |
(25:57) | قُلْ مَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ أَن يَتَّخِذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا | qul mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin illā man shāʾa an yattakhidha ilā rabbihi sabīlan | Say: "No reward do I ask of you for it but this: that each one
who will may take a (straight) Path to his Lord."
Sura al-Furqān 25:57 قُلْ مَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ أَن يَتَّخِذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا qul mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin illā man shāʾa an yattakhidha ilā rabbihi sabīlan Say: "No reward do I ask of you for it but this: that each one who will may take a (straight) Path to his Lord." |
(25:59) | ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ فَسْـَٔلْ بِهِۦ خَبِيرًا | alladhī khalaqa l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍa wa‑mā baynahumā fī sittati ayyāmin thumma istawā ʿalā l‑ʿarshi l‑raḥmānu fa‑sʾal bihi khabīran | He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is
between, in six days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of
Authority): Allah Most Gracious: ask thou, then, about Him of any acquainted
(with such things).
Sura al-Furqān 25:59 ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ فَسْـَٔلْ بِهِۦ خَبِيرًا alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa wa-mā baynahumā fī sittati ayyāmin thumma istawā ʿalā l-ʿarshi l-raḥmānu fa-sʾal bihi khabīran He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between, in six days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of Authority): Allah Most Gracious: ask thou, then, about Him of any acquainted (with such things). |
(26:109) | وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | wa‑mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l‑ʿālamīna | "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the
Lord of the Worlds:
Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:109 وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ wa-mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l-ʿālamīna "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds: |
(26:127) | وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | wa‑mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l‑ʿālamīna | "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the
Lord of the Worlds.
Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:127 وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ wa-mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l-ʿālamīna "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. |
(26:145) | وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | wa‑mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l‑ʿālamīna | "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the
Lord of the Worlds.
Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:145 وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ wa-mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l-ʿālamīna "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. |
(26:164) | وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | wa‑mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l‑ʿālamīna | "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the
lord of the Worlds.
Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:164 وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ wa-mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l-ʿālamīna "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. |
(26:180) | وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | wa‑mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l‑ʿālamīna | "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the
Lord of the Worlds.
Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:180 وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ wa-mā asʾalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l-ʿālamīna "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. |
(29:61) | وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّـهُ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ | wa‑laʾin saʾaltahum man khalaqa l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍa wa‑sakhkhara l‑shamsa wa‑l‑qamara la‑yaqūlunna allāhu fa‑annā yuʾfakūna | If indeed thou ask them who has created the heavens and the
earth and subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law), they will certainly
reply, "Allah". How are they then deluded away (from the truth)?
Sura al-ʿAnkabūt 29:61 وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّـهُ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ wa-laʾin saʾaltahum man khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa wa-sakhkhara l-shamsa wa-l-qamara la-yaqūlunna allāhu fa-annā yuʾfakūna If indeed thou ask them who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law), they will certainly reply, "Allah". How are they then deluded away (from the truth)? |
