(12:17) | قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَآ إِنَّا ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبِقُ وَتَرَكْنَا يُوسُفَ عِندَ مَتَٰعِنَا فَأَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ لَّنَا وَلَوْ كُنَّا صَٰدِقِينَ | qālū yāabānā innā dhahabnā nastabiqu wa‑taraknā yūsufa ʿinda matāʿinā fa‑akalahu l‑dhiʾbu wa‑mā anta bimuminin lanā wa‑law kunnā ṣādiqīna | They said: "O our father! We went racing with one another, and
left Joseph with our things; and the wolf devoured him.... But thou wilt
never believe us even though we tell the truth."
Sura Yūsuf 12:17 قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَآ إِنَّا ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبِقُ وَتَرَكْنَا يُوسُفَ عِندَ مَتَٰعِنَا فَأَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ لَّنَا وَلَوْ كُنَّا صَٰدِقِينَ qālū yāabānā innā dhahabnā nastabiqu wa-taraknā yūsufa ʿinda matāʿinā fa-akalahu l-dhiʾbu wa-mā anta bimuminin lanā wa-law kunnā ṣādiqīna They said: "O our father! We went racing with one another, and left Joseph with our things; and the wolf devoured him.... But thou wilt never believe us even though we tell the truth." |
(12:25) | وَٱسْتَبَقَا ٱلْبَابَ وَقَدَّتْ قَمِيصَهُۥ مِن دُبُرٍ وَأَلْفَيَا سَيِّدَهَا لَدَا ٱلْبَابِ قَالَتْ مَا جَزَآءُ مَنْ أَرَادَ بِأَهْلِكَ سُوٓءًا إِلَّآ أَن يُسْجَنَ أَوْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | wa‑astabaqā l‑bāba wa‑qaddat qamīṣahu min duburin wa‑alfayā sayyidahā ladā l‑bābi qālat mā jazāʾu man arāda bi‑ahlika sūʾan illā an yusjana aw ʿadhābun alīmun | So they both raced each other to the door, and she tore his
shirt from the back: they both found her lord near the door. She said:
"What is the (fitting) punishment for one who formed an evil design against
thy wife, but prison or a grievous chastisement?"
Sura Yūsuf 12:25 وَٱسْتَبَقَا ٱلْبَابَ وَقَدَّتْ قَمِيصَهُۥ مِن دُبُرٍ وَأَلْفَيَا سَيِّدَهَا لَدَا ٱلْبَابِ قَالَتْ مَا جَزَآءُ مَنْ أَرَادَ بِأَهْلِكَ سُوٓءًا إِلَّآ أَن يُسْجَنَ أَوْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ wa-astabaqā l-bāba wa-qaddat qamīṣahu min duburin wa-alfayā sayyidahā ladā l-bābi qālat mā jazāʾu man arāda bi-ahlika sūʾan illā an yusjana aw ʿadhābun alīmun So they both raced each other to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back: they both found her lord near the door.
